This was our first time dining - and definitely not our last! While yes it’s winter, and yes, it’s cold, my wife and I had an amazing time! Our server was very informative and walked us through the menu, his favorites, and helped us through the wine list as well. We tried their tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons and the ricotta appetizer - paired that with two pastas. We’ll most likely be back this weekend for breakfast - possibly even dinner :) Really happy this place opened up close by and is doing well in these trying times. Stop by if you’re in the area and you definitely won’t be disappointed!

We went to pasta Louise and had an excellent experience. The hospitality was top notch the manager Dan came over quite a few times to check in on us. It was a cold night and the server even offered to get our dog a blanket!! The whipped ricotta was insanely good I wish we had ordered two ordered of it. Support this local pasta joint. You will not regret it, it was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Thank you for a great experience we can’t wait to come back.

Scrumptuous inventive dishes from appetizer to hand-made pastas to dessert, in well-spaced, heated and decorative outdoor setting!

I have now been to Pasta Louise 3 times in the past month. It has such a down-to-earth, friendly, family environment, with the best and freshest pasta around. I highly recommend doing the Garlic + Olive Oil + Fresh Tomatoes pasta, and add Arugula and Ricotta. Bonus: add Prosciutto on the side to sprinkle in. The owner, Alison, is incredible, and has created a loving restaurant culture. You will not be disappointed!

So good, it hurts. Definitely get the Ricotta spread appetizer and I’m sure you’ll be happy with just about any dish on the menu!

I live in ohio and have little Italy and this reminded me of authentic Italian food. One very HAPPY guest. Felt like home 👌🏽👌🏽 Very cozy and refreshing experience.

Talk about a great neighborhood spot - seriously! The pasta is amazing and so is the friendly staff - I trek all the way to Park Slope from Midtown Manhattan just for the pasta! It is so fresh and the sauce choices are to die for! I also love that the restaurant has a scholarship fund and they make a point to give back to the community, such a great place! The owners are always at the restaurant and interacting with their guests. The outdoor dining situation is superb and I feel 100% comfortable dining there. If you are looking for more of a take out option - they have pasta kits to-go which are so reasonably priced and most include a bottle of wine, great for date night! If you live anywhere in the five boroughs you need to visit Pasta Louise!

The pasta is delicious. I've eaten in, taken out as well as bought to make at home and it is all delicious. Had dinner outside there tonight and the manager was very nice. There were movers for an apartment next door and for the inconvenience (which was out of their hands), he offered us dessert on the house. Nice of them to accommodate us. Get the homemade whipped ricotta 🤤

This was a gem. This was a great find amazing food the homemade pasta here was excellent! The mascarpone cheese sauce with butter was absolutely phenomenal. The pesto sauce was phenomenal appetizers and the whole nine. We ate outdoors when indoor dining just started but it's a beautiful location and I recommended highly service was great as well very friendly.

So delicious! I had the gluten free pasta and it tasted like regular pasta! The staff are so friendly and the host was extremely helpful and accommodating. Super cute atmosphere and outdoor seating has heat lamps.

Lunchtime fav! Great sandwiches and the pasta salad is always fresh and tasty. The meatball parm and cacio e pepe are amazing.

I love it here. I've been here 2x. Got the Bolognese and chicken salad sandwich. 5 stars!

Really phenomenal. The pasta was fresh and tender, meatballs were juicy and well cooked, and they had a wonderfully simple sauce made with exceptionally good stewed tomatoes. The garlic & oil option is great as well; it does not mess around with the garlic.

We really enjoyed our date night here! We had great service and the food was so good. The heirloom tomato salad was heavenly. When talking with the server about the menu, they described the lasagne as sauce-less. We ended up ordering two different pasta (Spicy Red with Breadcrumbs and Cannellini Beans and Roasted Tomato Sauce with Breadcrumbs, Arugula, and Burrata) and both were well-portioned and delicious! The banana bread sundae was a great treat at the end of really nice meal.

You can tell a lot about a place and the owners by the simple things. I appreciate a place that is considerate, and pasta Louise with its water stand outside (in this heat) is a blessing for many and an instant hit in my eyes. We loved the cacio e pepe and the spicy pesto pasta. Their menu is also quite thoughtful in the way they have laid out the offerings and portions.

I don’t understand how anyone can give this place less than 5 stars. From the first time me and my girlfriend ate here just after they opened where we were the only diners there to now when they are usually packed, Pasta Louise has offered top notch pasta, dessert, and events! First, as a born and raised (half) Italian Brooklynite who remembers his late grandma making homemade pasta/sauce, Pasta Louise offers some form of nostalgia. The bite of the pasta is fantastic, and the homemade sauces are excellent. I may dare say it, but it reminds me very much of pasta my grandma made which is a huge compliment as even the fanciest manhattan Italian restaurants I typically feel indifferent about. Seriously, some of the best bites of pasta I have had outside Italy. The environment is casual yet well decorated, they have weekly events such as special dinner nights and movie nights which are both fun and inventive. Their pasta to go which cooks in literally 10minutes is well worth it for you to stock up in your fridge. You will never want to buy boxed pasta again. Also, the owner Allison is very sweet and the place is great for holding an event or a birthday! My only hope is that they don’t become so popular that it’s hard to get a reservation :).

This place is absolutely amazing. I had family visit, one of which has celiac disease. From the first time I called to ask about their kitchen and our dietary needs they were so kind, patient and helpful. We had a FANTASTIC dinner and my guest was able to have what she said was one of the few truly delicious gluten free pastas she has ever had. I cannot say enough about this place. So happy to have it in our neighborhood.

From the pasta (fresh and delicious), to the sauces (incredibly flavorful without relying on oil solely for flavor), to the toppings (get the spicy prosciutto, it's incredible on anything), this place is incredibly good. Wish I had a chance to get some dessert but their "Louise Special" coffee, with mint syrup, is very delicious and I highly recommend sipping on it after enjoying some pasta.

My girlfriend and I have walked past this place so many times without stopping in...but with today's glorious weather we figured we'd check it out. We're so glad we did! She got the pizza bread sandwich, I got the pasta with butter, cheese and breadcrumbs. It was so good! The pasta was perfect and in just the right portion. In fact, she ordered her own to go to have it for dinner tonight! You know sometimes you say to a host or waiter "we'll be back"? This time, we actually mean it. I already can't wait until the next time!

I consistently take my son and daughter here for brunch on the weekends. The service is great, the pasta is excellent, and they treat families with kids extremely well. Strong recommend, even in a neighborhood with many good food options.

Consistently excellent food and service. My partner and I love Stopping in for a coffee and banana bread on our Tuesdays. My partner doesn’t like bananas, but she LOVES their banana bread especially with the salted caramel sauce. I strongly Recommend their specialty coffees “the secret agent” is my favorite; a perfect balance of spiced chocolate and coffee and just a bit of sugar. Their pasta of course is to die for. Their sauce and meatballs reminds me of my Italian Papa’s. I Brought my mom there for her birthday. She’s a tough sell. She was very pleased with her lasagna. I Look forward to more outings there with family and friends.

This place has quickly become a neighborhood landmark. Solid freshly made pasta to cook at home. Sauces are good — but overpriced. Still, we buy them half the time. Tiramisu is great too. Just very consistent food, and 9 times out of 10, really pleasant staff working the register too.

Marvelous! My friend made reservations for this Friday evening, great idea since they seem to be very busy. The outdoor seating is so charming. The perks are seeing dozens and dozens of cute dogs. The corner location is perfect. The whole staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was too busy having a great dinner to photograph my food, but it was all delicious and amazing. Best pasta in Brooklyn. Fresh pasta too! The plate may not look as big but the pasta is so dense & rich that it really fills you up. It was so amazing that I ordered more to take home, as well as getting their other fresh pasta to cook later this week. I want to be a regular here. Wish I can give it more stars.

Pasta Louise is a staple in our household because they use quality ingredients. Whether it’s their sweet treats, pasta and sauce to make at home, or getting carry out it’s always delicious. I’m so glad they opened on the corner of my street - our favorite things to grab from their menu are the meatball parm & Louise Cubano sandwiches, and the cacio e pepe & bologonese pastas 😋

G

The food and service are incredible! Last night was our second time in and we ordered all the specials once again. Did not disappoint! Perfectly cooked pasta and flavorful dishes. Highly recommend the duck special. We love that they do a monthly drink special and donate to local charities as well! We had the same waitress (Lace) both times and she just makes the experience that much more enjoyable! She kind, knowledgeable and always has a smile on her face. We really enjoy talking with her and will be asking for her the next time we come in! Cannot say enough good things about this place. Definitely check it out!

The fresh pasta here is delicious. I had the daily pasta in meatball sauce with breadcrumbs, whipped ricotta, and the hot peppers on the side. The meatball sauce had a rich tomato flavor with 3 good-size tender meatballs. I'm glad I got the peppers on the side because they are quite spicy. The whole experience was very good and the atmosphere was still cozy in the outdoor dining space. Our waiter was fabulous and attentive without being overbearing. He put a candle in my girlfriend's dessert because we mentioned it was her belated birthday celebration. I had the Snickers Sundae and it was tasty, but probably too much ice cream for me. We had drinks, a starter, 2 pasta entrees, 2 desserts and it was all very delicious and a very reasonable price.

K
Kashmira Mehta

Absolutely amazing pasta! The pasta was cooked perfectly, I love that it was a shape I'd never eaten before (little rainbows with stubby spokes). I got the red pesto which was delicious and not spicy at all. I loved that it was a really good portion size, I was pretty hungry and this filled me up with room for dessert. I had a small scoop of their ice cream, today's flavor was salted caramel. Awesome service, a great place!

I don't know why but I wasn't anticipating that my expectations would be exceeded on my sole visit. The Prosciutto and Mozzarella sandwich was on crisp sub bread and loaded with freshly dressed arugula. It is a temptation to visit more often, but gotta watch the carbs. Looking forward to the same sandwich in a few weeks and hoping for consistent quality.

B

The staff I encountered here is so warm and kind it makes for such a great dining experience. They traded my entire family and my guests so well, the kind of service is really easy to overlook. For that reason alone I'm happy to give them all the stars in the world. On top of all that the food is delicious. They have a daily special. It's a little different here, they make one type of fresh pasta every day. It doesn't matter what type of sauce you order, everyone gets the same type of pasta. I love fresh pasta!

E
Ed Roggenkamp

This place is a real gem. I stopped in for dinner after a day in Prospect Park. They make their pasta by hand, one shape each day, and you can customize the type of sauce you want with it and the ingredients to go in it. I chose that day's special, which was a ragout with fresh tomatoes, Italian sausage, and other items, it was delicious - some of the best pasta I've had in a long time. You can really tell that everything is freshly made. I'm going to have to make a trip back to try the regular menu options as well as the lasagna. The service was attentive even though the outdoor cafe was full and the restaurant was also doing a steady stream of takeout orders. Alison, the hostess, was welcoming and helped out with tables as needed; and Dan, the general manager, made sure to check in with each table at least once and chat with anyone who wanted to, while still keeping up with service. I overheard him give kudos to a waiter (who I later found out was working through his first day!) and reminded myself that managers who know how to give positive feedback even during busy service are few and far between. Stop by if you're in the area, this place is well worth a visit.

Pasta Louise doesn't just serve delicious food, they have also brought a greater sense of community and civic engagement to the neighborhood. It amazes me that they started during the pandemic and only got stronger from there!

Great place for lunch. Only provides counter service but they have another restaurant by the same name with full service. Food was amazing. Eating outside during the rain was challenging but I would do it again because the food is that good! Value is terrific.

This is the spot. For families, for dates, for friends or parties. Pasta brings everyone together. Pasta shape of the day with the many sauces from their menu. Add the chilis for some kick. The focaccia is to die for. I’ll be coming back for seconds

Usually I avoid Italian food because I associate it with gigantic portions and feeling too full and heavy afterwards. Not so with Pasta Louise. Everything is lovely, fresh, and well-portioned. Their whipped ricotta over fresh focaccia is a dream!

We had the focaccia, and I got the shrimp pasta with spicy, crispy prosciutto and it changed something deep within me. Cannot wait to go back. Our server was also new (cannot remember her name but she has dark hair and a great accent) and completely crushed it. Just a really nice night out in the neighborhood.

LOUD AND FESTIVE, Pasta Louise is three big rooms in Brooklyn’s Park Slope that focuses weekly on one iteration of pasta, while offering sides and salads and cocktails of solid quality. Last night was some pasta shaped like 19th-century hats. Yum. The toppings were delicious.

Stopped here on a Monday early afternoon to do a lunch takeout order. If I lived in this neighborhood, I’d be here at least once a week. We got a fennel & arugula salad (add prosciutto, you won’t regret it) and it was super fresh and delicious. Loved the dressing. We also got a veggie frittata sandwich with spicy chipotle mayo and it was also outstanding. I was so happy it came on their rosemary and garlic focaccia as I sadly resisted buying some of their packaged focaccias… absolutely phenomenal. They have a plethora of wonderful premade and small grocer items that I plan on stocking up on next time I’m in. So much fresh pasta and packaged sauces! Love this spot!!

Tried the spicy red pesto sauce. Id never had this sauce before and it was amazing. Didn't even care that it was 95 degrees outside it was delicious. Staff was super friendly and chatty too. Went back in afterwards and bought the sauce to take home.

I look forward to every visit to NYC just to come back to Pasta Louise! As always, the food today was absolutely exquisite, and the coffee martini was perfection. This restaurant consistently delivers when it comes to flavors and quality. However, I have to mention that our waiter chewing gum while talking to us was a major turnoff. It's unprofessional and a bit off-putting, especially in such a lovely dining setting. That said, this one hiccup won’t stop me from returning. Pasta Louise remains a must-visit on every trip to NYC!

Hands down, the best pasta I've ever had. Even pre-pandemic, this restaurant would be a standout. The fact that they've been able to weather these incredibly trying times for restaurants is testament to just how good the food is. Celebrated my fathers vaccination after months of not seeing each other and had been wanting to sit in the beautiful outdoor area. The entire experience from being seated to leaving from dessert, exceeded all expectations. First, the pasta. They have multiple shapes, one which is chosen as their daily special, which you can have prepared anyway you want. All the sauces look so good it took a forever to pick one. Then there are the dreamy add-ons to create your own adventure. There is no wrong adventure, they're all going to be delicious. Pro-tip, don't miss out on the salads (the Caesar is excellent, but they all look good) but most importantly, the lasagna. It's worth ordering even to split on the side, it's seriously that good. Next, the service from start to finish was absolutely impeccable. Between accommodating a special request with seating, explaining the menu, and wines, we felt completely taken care of, even when it got busy. Live around the corner, so happy to have this addition to the neighborhood and can not wait to go back.

I was in Amalfi about two weeks ago and had pasta limone - the pasta limone on special at Pasta Louise was surprisingly much better. Amalfi lemons are special but I think the Pasta Louise's use of preserved lemons more than made up the difference. Also, the rosemary and garlic focaccia is incredible. The staff has always been friendly at both locations. I first met the owner when they did a pop up at Barclays' Center a couple seasons ago. I love that they also sell ice cream and affogato. This little cafe and their larger restaurant will hold me over until my next trip to Italy. Can you guys do Spaghetti Nerano next? And if you do please lmk ;)

OMG! There are no words for how good this Meatball Sub is. All of the ingredients are fresh, the baguette is soft, yet crispy on the outside. I HIGHLY recommend this cafe. I will be a repeat customer. Thank you Pasta Louise for such great service and food!

Everything they carry is good, the pasta, the coffee, the juice, the bread! I recommend EVERYTHING. The staff is very kind, portions are generous, space is lovely and inviting. I have very fond memories of Pasta Louise and will miss them! Hopefully I can visit sometime.

We’ve been coming here for their ice cream, which changes every week. Make sure to check their website to see what the latest flavor is. My favorites so far are Piña Colada and Watermelon. They also take flavor suggestions for the ice cream. This time, we decided to have lunch instead of ice cream. We ordered the Louise Cubano Sandwich, which is a roast pork, Swiss cheese, house-made pickles, dijon, and toasted baguette sandwich. It was delicious! All the flavors were well-balanced, and the pickles, onions, and bread were all on point. The bread was crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. They also have outdoor seating, and all the staff were super friendly. We can’t wait to come back!

Amazing pasta. One of the best new additions to Park Slope. The cafe is for take out mostly, but the Restaurant is a few blocks down on 8th Ave and Bar Louise is also close by on 7th Ave. My recs: cacio e pepe, spicy red pesto, mac n cheese, old school grilled cheese.

I ate here with my mother. The prosciutto was incredible with the red pepper sauce. I tried so many dishes that I normally would never eat simply because I knew I could trust that everything was going to be delicious. The service was amazing and consistent. Not to forget the banana bread, some of the best we’ve ever had.

This place is so dreamy and delicious. Definitely a little spendy but, so dang worth it. I had the cacio e pepe with the crispy prosciutto and tbh I'll forgo the prosciutto next time but the pasta was amazing. Also, the whipped ricotta is dope as heck so be sure to get it!

God I love this place. I crave their pasta often and order at least 1x/month. Their cacio e pepe with spicy prosciutto crisps is my go-to, but I’ve had a lot more. Most recently their broccoli rabe pesto with burrata - so fresh and good. Their spicy red pesto is also amazing, as is their whipped ricotta situation and the fennel and arugula salad, which is quite large and honestly, a good deal.

Very pretty and comfortable room, great food and service. The fresh pasta really is made locally that day. Pleasant and special place. Children will love the pasta, the space is handicap accessible. There are gluten free and vegan options.

A great neighborhood restaurant where the atmosphere is a combination of a friendly staff who knows their customers, high quality food, and delightful covered outdoor seating areas lit with sparkly lights. The menu is simple and lets you add/customize the mains. The dessert menu is also something to look forward to. Pictured: Lasagna with added ricotta and crispy prosciutto, cacio e pepe with buratta, house-made whipped ricotta with fennel oil on foccacia.

The best pasta spot in the area!!!!! Start with ricotta on focaccia or tomato soup! The salad is good to share cause the portion was big enough. DAD'S FAMOUS ROASTED RED PEPPER pasta is a must try. Can’t go wrong with CACIO E PEPE. Spicy red pesto is a good choice if you want to try new kind of sauce. Add spicy prosciutto or calabrian chilies on the side if you need a little kick. I picked up lasagna to go and it was excellent!!! Can’t wait to go back soon.

Above par! Pasta is cooked al dente! The portion is perfect for me since I don’t want to indulge myself too much;) They also let you customize the pasta by adding various toppings. As the menu suggested, the spicy crispy prosciutto did level up the cacio e pepe! Before the fall is gone, I need to pay another visit to try some seasonal pasta!

"... Oh my goodness!" THIS IS AMAZING! Wow is this some special food. I can't thank our hosts enough for taking us to Pasta Louise. This is one of those places where the menu fits easily on one page because they are laser focused on perfection of a few dishes instead of a large offering. Both the red and white sauces are amazingly fresh and crafted to perfection. Obviously the pasta is handmade and melts in the mouth. Do NOT miss the Ricotta Toast appetizer.

Would give 50 stars if I could. If there was a heaven on earth, this place is it. Located off picturesque 8th ave in Park Slope. Outdoor seating is amazing equipped with fans to keep it pleasant on the warmer days. We stopped by for early dinner on weekend with just a small wait. Though walking around is definitely not bad at all with lovely brownstones and tree lined streets. Had the summer pasta salad with rigatoni, corn, squash, garlic croutons and tomatoes which we loved although a bit heavier than expected. Burrata appetizer is an obvious must, but the ricotta looks good as well. Spicy red pesto was great. We also got the garlic and tomato pasta which was on the simpler side but had a nice garlic kick. Treat yourself to desserts, we couldn't make up our minds so we got both the affogato and banana bread sundae - no regrets!!! Watermelon mimosa was ok, not worth $12.

For being a little local family pasta place, this place packs a flavor punch! In the short time they've been open, they've shown how amazing their homemade pasta is. Be sure to get the extra toppings like burrata and bread crumbs. The locals have caught on how good it is, so be prepared for a little wait for dinner, but it's worth it. Extremely family friendly and the staff are top notch. You can order pasta to go, or have outdoor dining. They have a nice setup for outdoor eating. Their soft serve ice cream is really good, too, be it vanilla with olive oil, or mint affogato.

The red sauce tasted like the great tomatoes that it was made from, nice acidity and salt balance, the lasagna was great, cream-based but with really wonderful crispy bits, and the cacio e pepe was incredible, probably the best of my life. And of course the pasta was perfect and clearly freshly made this morning! Also had an appetizer of burrata, which was good, an affogato for dessert, which was phenomenal, and some daily special pineapple ice cream, which was subtle and real delightful. Thank y'all for a wonderful dinner!

Pasta Louise always delivers, whether you’re dining there or order lunch at home. Their pasta is cooked to perfection and al dente, and their sauces are wonderfully rich and fresh at the same time. I often get their pasta of the day with butter sauce and added bacon and bruschetta for lunch. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, we have dined in store multiple times and have had a great time. Restaurant owner is a nice guy who is always in and talks to customers. They also sell their fresh made pastas and sauces to take home.

Went on a Sunday afternoon and had to wait for a bit for a table. It seemed like there might have been some confusion as they sat another party at the table we were told we would get. We ended up being promptly seated in a nicer spot in the garden once everyone realized. The food was so so good and the service after the initial confusion was really really lovely. I really appreciate the small menu. We tried a squash soup, the kale squash salad, and 2 pasta sauces- tomato and cacio e pepe. Everything was so so delicious. Pasta itself was the perfect texture. Outside garden area is super cute and heaters were perfect! Definitely a big fan & will be back.

Staff are super awesome and the place is nice. The flavors of the food are good but often there is too much salt and olive oil (not for all types but a lot). Despite this, I always come back.

This is a neighborhood gem. Hard to get a table and wait on a Friday evening 6pm can be 90 minutes plus. So best to get a reservation before you go. We tried the following From the kids menu, pasta in butter sauce and cheese. My 5 year old loved it and said it was the best pasta she has had in a while. I tried the pasta in red tomato sauce with garlic, it was good but not the best I’ve had. Temperature wise it was tongue-burning hot, I think that could easily be fixed. The portion sizes are perfect. The whipped ricotta on focaccia was excellent in texture but too salty for my taste and hence hard to finish. The staff is friendly and very attentive. Overall I had a pleasant experience. I will go there again to try the other pastas and the deserts.

Nice outdoor atmosphere, friendly staff! The food is good and straightforward, although it didn’t blow my mind. The pasta portions are small but worked for me as a single meal- if you have a big appetite or want leftovers I’d recommend getting a side or starter. I got the spicy red pesto- the only nondairy option on the menu- and i liked it! I think they could increase the heat level though, it was very mild. I didn’t try dessert but my friends enjoyed theirs. I had the Montepulciano (red wine), and I don’t recommend it. I found it unpleasant—no real flavor notes, slightly spicy and high acidity with a little acrid aftertaste even after breathing for the entire meal. Try the next one up if you’re looking for a cheap wine accompaniment.

I had the Red Pepper pasta sauce. The pasta was served very hot and was a pretty typical pasta but solid for the value. The burrata was sadly not creamy and did not breakup easily.

Got an order of burrata and pasta primavera. Surprised by the lack of flavor and seasoning of both. Unfortunately bland. It was good after I doctored it up with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

The outdoor is super cute and if it was warmer it would be awesome to sit outside. Its definitely a cute place to go back to! Perfect for a date. First time trying Pasta Louise, and it was solid. Very feesh, cooker perfectly. Great add on options. The staff were super friendly and made great recommendations.

I want to give this place another try because this go round didn’t thrill me. I ordered delivery on a busy weekend which might have been the issue. The pasta bolognese (with added whipped ricotta) had the perfect homemade noodle texture, but the sauce was weirdly lacking in meat or any kind of texture/filling for a bolognese sauce. The Roman sandwich’s fillings were amazing but the bread was so hard and crumbly it was hard to actually eat it as a sandwich. If I’m honest I just ate the fillings with my bare hands like an animal because the bread was so intolerable. Would like to try it again.

Good vibes, good service, food is good! Definitely a great date night spot! Brownie was ok, there is way better brownies out there. Also meat for my pasta was super oily however definitely delicious meat but will get it on the side next time not on my plate itself!

Fresh pastas’ texture was very good. Each day they feature a special pasta shape, customers choose the sauce! Today’s pasta was radiatori and I liked it. The winter citrus salad with goat cheese was very good also. The staff were very kind except one female staff in front of the restroom. She was so rude.

I'll start by saying that the pasta is good. So no problem there. But I walked away not feeling great about the experience when paired with the price. We paid the regular premium price that we would at a restaurant with waiters and decent table and glassware. And obviously we tipped since we do that no matter what, but when I think back there wasn't actually a wait staff. It's not that type of restaurant. It's counter service so we got our own food when our names were called and it came in disposable containers, even the wine. The the tables were plastic. Which is a fine experience, if the price matched. I ate at a few restaurants that weekend with actual wait staff and this was still the biggest bill.

Nice outdoor spot. Ordered the Cacio e Pepe with crispy prosciutto. Took 20 minutes for a to-go order but didn’t seem that busy. Portion was small. Too salty. Not worth $22.50. Wouldn’t go again.

Dont think to come here and have real italian food, (i was born and raised in Italy), the cacio e pepe i ordered was overcooked and salty, i couldnt finish it. The brussel sprouts we ordered as appetizer arrived barely warm at the table and the burrata with prosciutto we ordered was mediocre, but what i really didnt like its that they dont serve bread at the table, you have to order separately focaccia for your prosciutto, I understand that the prices are not what were few years ago, but no bread in a restaurant is unacceptable. In italy this place would open and close in a couple of months. For the price and what they offer there are definitely better places in NYC

Pasta Louise uses one kind of noodle a night for all of their dishes-so tonight it was the radiator noodle. The Caesar salad had no anchovies, was over dressed and the lettuce wasn’t fresh. Nor was the focaccia. We ordered a cacio e Pepe and a dad’s hot pepper sauce pasta-both with the “radiator” noodle. No one offered Parmesan and both pastas were basic and not great. I wish I had spent the $70 at the grocery store! We don’t eat out often and this place wasn’t worth it. It is mainly for families with babies and kids, and the grown up food seemed catered to kids too. Unfortunate.

🍝 Review of Pasta Louise 🍝 Visited Pasta Louise recently and had mixed feelings about the experience. While the service was excellent, I must admit it's not a sustainable place to dine. The heavy use of single-use plastic for takeaway containers was concerning, and it definitely affected my overall enjoyment. The food was alright, but in my opinion, it wasn't worth the price to eat out of to-go containers. If you're looking for convenience, the place might work, but sustainability-conscious diners might want to consider other options.

Good overall, good gluten free pasta. But I find it to be a bit over-rated. Desserts are not that good. Flavor is always off. They’ve messed up my delivery orders multiple times with no attempt to make it right.

20-minute wait for a chicken salad sandwich is wild. I was excited to finally come here but this was super disappointing. The sandwich itself was very good, but I specifically ordered the chicken salad assuming it would the quickest option to make on the menu. I’m not sure if they forgot to make it or what took so long, considering there were no other customers dining in and waiting for lunch. (For context, only a few other customers were there with cafe drinks only, no numbers on their dining tables for lunch.)

I really wanted to love this place! I had some many reviews from friends about this local pasta restaurant and finally gave it a chance. I ordered the popular Cacio e Pepe and was underwhelmed. The sauce was amazing but the noodles and crispy prosciutto didn’t allow me to fall in love with this popular dish. I also tried the focaccia bread, very crispy outside and dry inside. I was hoping for more moisture and airy bites. I’d love to give it a second chance, but as of now 6/10

Pasta primavera, to go, was cold and dry. The cannellini beans I added were dry and hard. The other two pastas with sauce we ordered were fine (warm and not dry)

S

Food was very mediocre in all honesty. Whipped ricotta w/ fennel was the only thing we liked (8/10). The cacio e pepe w/prosciutto was overly salty, oily, and heavy. Not even worth ordering. I would also skip the Cannellini hummus. Nothing special to write about. Lamb Sugo was okay. (6/10). Definitely had better pasta for less.

Ordered two pasta dishes to be delivered, one with prosciutto one without, both arrived with prosciutto (I’m vegetarian). When I rang up to get a replacement the manager told me he could send another pasta but sounded like he absolutely did not want to do that and that it would take over an hour. Total jerk. They’ve lost a long term customer. **Update - they reached out after I left this review and emailed them. They immediately rang me to apologize and make things right. Meal was refunded and a $15 gift certificate sent over. Will likely not order from them again but will drop by for a drink the next time I’m in that area.

Used to be such a good neighborhood restaurant but since they switched to this weird takeout model it has gone fully downhill. Every time i get pasta there it is either way too undersalted or over salted to the point of being literally inedible- i can only imagine if someone was at risk for high sodium consumption related issues. And they will charge exorbitant amouts for add-ons that A) shouldn’t be necessary if the sauce was properly flavored in the first place, and B) would be complimentary at any decent restaurant. 1.50 for a sprinkle of breadcrumbs? And it all has to be in single use plastic containers? Really? I asked for some black pepper once and was told they didn’t have that and I would have to buy a container of red pepper flakes. How do you have cacio e pepe on your menu but no pepper? You can’t spare a few grinds of it to a paying customer? Really just an awful decision, love the location and miss how amazing it used to be when it first opened but likely will not be returning.

I’m a pasta fanatic. And I was excited to try pasta from this place. After reading extensive glowing reviews about the Cacio de Pepe with Spicy, Crispy Prosciutto, I decided to get it delivered. However, after paying close to 30$ with all fees included I was sadly disappointed of what I had received. My first bite had reflected the glowing reviews. But then shortly after, the the food became incredibly salty. I'm aware of the natural salts prosciutto gives but this was unbearable. I felt I was just eating salt. To confirm my opinion, I had told my family the pasta was great and that they should all try it. After, I asked for their true thoughts, and salty was unanimous. Also, sitting at the bottom was an inch of oil. AN INCH!! I'm greatly disappointed. I don't wish this experience for anyone.

I went at 4pm only to learn they don’t serve pasta between 4 and 5pm. At… Pasta Louise. It’s a pasta place, that’s literally in the name! I’ll amend my review if I ever return, but choosing to arbitrarily not serve your namesake dish for an hour seems an odd choice.

Be careful! We have ordered takeout twice, and the food has been good/decent. And then I ordered last week - I waited over an hour for my dinner, which I never received. I called twice for a status and was told it was on the way. (I live about 1 mile away) After 75 minutes, I got a call from an Uber delivery driver telling me he is at my address. He was not. The delivery person proceeded to yell at me because he was somehow at the wrong address. I hung up on him and called the restaurant to let them know that after an hour+ of waiting, I am now being screamed at by the delivery person. They said they are sorry, but they have no control over their delivery drivers' actions. (Umm, what?!?!) She offered to send another order but advised that she could not guarantee a quicker delivery (said it would likely be another hour) or a better delivery experience. After waiting an hour and a half I declined her offer and asked for a refund. Was advised that the refund would be processed and no sincere apology for my experience. Cut to 20 minutes later and I was still receiving texts that my order is on the way and then I received another crazed phone call from the delivery driver yelling at me again because he was at another incorrect address. I called the restaurant back, asked for a manager and of course there was no manager available. I advised the woman on the phone that since they have no control over their delivery drivers - as they stated- that someone needs to stop the delivery driver from harassing me. That was it. I waited to write this review because I was expecting to hear from a manager in the following days. I did not. Mediocre food is forgivable, abominable customer service is not. Will never eat or order from here again, and I warn anyone who orders delivery - Be Very Careful because Pasta Louise has advised me they have no control over their delivery drivers' actions. Yikes!

Had a pretty bad experience here. The people who work there are great, but the food (and concept) is small portioned, overpriced, and mediocre. There are so many better (and actually authentic) Italian-American pasta places in the area. I wouldn't pay attention to the hype, which seems to garner the best reviews.

K
Katie Donaldson

I HIGHLY advise to stay away from this restaurant as the people who work here are beyond incompetent to the point of dangerous. I ordered pasta through Uber Eats, and the description says that the pasta includes sunflower seeds, and I asked for them not to be added. I received them with sunflower seeds anyway. What if I had an allergy? That's completely unacceptable. On another note, upon tasting the pasta, it is filled with so much oil, and the taste is just absolutely disgusting. I can't understand the high reviews for this place, they don't even deserve a 1 star. Shame on you! I will be cautioning everyone I know to stay away from this disastrous restaurant.

I was expecting an authentic Italian dish but ended up getting some old soggy noodles, that tasted like they had been left in boiling water for a week. My dish of choice was the pasta Bolognese and the price was very steep for such a small shop at $25.50 with tax. I asked if I was portion size was good and I was assured it was, so paid/ tipped for service. The Togo order had a 15 min to cook time. I got order and pulled a small bowl with beef/ pork sausage crumbles out of the bag. The noodles were really soggy and had no flavor. The Bolognese sauce was to runny and I could not even taste the tomato. I feel like they used to much cream or something because I swear I was eating stinky cheese. The sausage tasted like jimmy dean sausage crumbles but with less flavor. The main problem is nothing had any distinguishable flavored expect for stinky cheese. Please don’t be dumb like me and eat here but if you do sprinkle some salt on the food and say prayer, your gonna need it.
