Sotto Voce Brooklyn Reviews
As visitors in Park Slope, we wanted Italian for dinner. Boy, did we choose well! We had an outstanding meal this evening! We started with a red sangria and their unique twist on a cosmopolitan; both were very good. For starter, we had the well-dressed bruschetta and a side of their delicious "magic sauce". I enjoyed the wonderful homemade Lasagna...my go-to Italian. My wife ordered their exquisite Sacchetini in a Gorgonzola cheese sauce with poached pears and walnuts. It was Devine! They finished strong! We had their chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream which was good. However, the other dessert we had for the first-time anywhere was their remarkable, unique, and oh-so delicious Tartufo...a must have! Of course the quality of the food was matched by the quality of the service from the manager, Arturo (sp?], and the waitress whose name escapes me. You have to try this restaurant!
The food was incredible. The service was second to none. We came here for Christmas Day dinner with the family and their Christmas Menu was delightful. So many great choices! And don't get me started with the desserts! I had the Panettone but the Tiramisu looked amazing as well. We all left the dishes squeaky clean! A bit pricey but worth it, especially for Christmas;
🎶 You wanna go where everybody knows your name 🎶. That’s how you’ll feel from the moment you walk in the door at Sotto Voce. Anaci will greet you warmly and launch your enjoyment of the most pleasant and delicious meals from his amazingly long list of excellent specials - from apps through desserts everything is house made and delicious. He’s a great culinary guide for even the most sophisticated diners - let him suggest a dish to riff on whatever you might fancy on any given day. Don’t overlook his wine selections and save room for some fabulous desserts (which we love to pair with one of his lovely dessert wines). So glad we live in this neighborhood and can easily meet up with friends to enjoy truly outstanding hospitality and cuisine. Unlike many other good Park Slope restaurants this one will not break the bank. Never disappointed here!
What an incredible experience. We came here for my birthday dinner and the manager took care of our table, thoroughly explained each dish and special in detail for those of us who are new to fine dining. The service was incredible and hospitable 🙏 The food was immaculate in every way and flavours on point in each dish! Appetizers we had were brushetta, burrata, and garlic bread which were all fantastic light bites packed with delicate dainties. Our main courses through the table were fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken which isn’t exactly in the menu however I’m so grateful to the cooks in the kitchen who made it special for me 🥹💖 The lasagne was beefy, saucy and rich, and the salmon which was served with a decadent sauce so good you almost want to lick the plate! This restaurant is truly outstanding and the manager surprised us with new items to expand our taste palette including a lemon sorbet at the end of our meal! 🎉 I’m so grateful to have had this experience last night and I highly recommend SottoVoce to anyone who desires an amazing fine dining experience with an atmosphere of care and hospitality like no other ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Stumbled in after an afternoon in Prospect Park and was not disappointed. Amazing neighborhood and family friendly restaurant with Star treatment right from the start. The owner is charismatic and sat us down and walked us through the menu and was so nice and friendly. Gave us a very generous pouring of a taste of wine that was essentially a full glass. Gave us free dessert and checked on us the whole time .
We had dinner Sunday evening with another couple. We were greeted by a very friendly staff and then one of the owners who went over the menu and made suggestions. The food was terrific including the lamb shank special. The recommended wine was a perfect compliment to the meal and the deserts were marvelous. We definitely will return soon!
Great neighborhood / local spot. The owners are so warm and welcoming. Pasta dishes and eggplant rollatini are delicious. Pistachio tartufo is the best I’ve ever had. Whether it’s a date night or you have a family - it’s the best Italian meal.
This place is exceptional. A true hidden gem. The owner personally walked us through the menu and I had the homemade Sacchettoni. Everything from the wine to the pasta to the bread and olive oil was reminiscent of being in Italy. Can't wait to return!
We had a wonderful family dinner here on a weeknight and couldn’t have been more pleased. The service was excellent: attentive, friendly, and perfectly paced. The quiet, relaxed ambiance made it easy to enjoy conversation and linger over our meal. Everything came together to create a lovely evening. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Italian food in a welcoming, peaceful setting.
This is my favorite meal I’ve ever had in NYC. We selected this restaurant purely based on a craving for pasta and the fact that we could have our dog outdoors with us. It was the GREATEST decision we ever made. The service was authentic, genuine and we shared a true human connection throughout our lunch with the GM. The food was incredible. We ate every single bite! The artichoke appetizer was so fresh and flavorful. He shared their “magic sauce” with us with bread and it was impossible to stop eating it. I had the penne alla vodka which I will forever dream about. My husband had a homemade pasta with sausage, mushrooms and a cream sauce. We were totally blown away by the flavors and quality of the ingredients. The tiramisu was like eating a literal cloud, so light and fluffy! I can’t say enough nice things about SottoVoce. I highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner! I’ll be back every time we come to New York.
My sister and I are regulars here. This is hands down our favorite Italian restaurant in Brooklyn! We’ve tried many different dishes on the menu, and each one has been phenomenal! And, make sure you try their delicious homemade desserts!! Not only is the food amazing, but the ambience and service are bar none. This restaurant has the best manager there is! He always makes us feel right at home and his energy is contagious. He is so warm and welcoming and ensures that you have the best dining experience. We’d eat here daily if we could!
Simply Superb! The food is downright delicious. Take one bite and be transported to a traditional Italian home cooked meal in Nonna's kitchen. Although there were only 2 people serving all tables during our visit, the service was warm and friendly. The bread is fresh, crispy toasted crust, soft and delicate inside, served with a delicate sweet tomato sauce mixed with herbs and olive oil. Must try - the tastiest bruschetta. Calamaris - fresh, cooked to perfection and served with fried zucchini. The vodka sauce and pasta was one of the best I have savored. Also recommend the pesto sauce. The Tiramisu, very delicious, is worth mentioning -- a good portion to share if you are full from your meal but still have space for some sweets. SottoVoce exceeded my expectations for a NY Italian restaurant. You'll be glad you visited.
Amazing customer service, fantastic food, and a great location for people watching (if you sit outside). I'm not sure if he was the owner or a manager, but our server was one of the nicest people I've ever met, with a genuine excitement to share his happiness of the food with us. When he found out my companion and I are in the restaurant industry, he brought us a tiramisu (one of the best Ive ever had) to enjoy before work. Try the eggplant rollatini, house made lasagne, and if available that day, the cheese "purses." I'm so happy this is in my neighborhood, I look forward to bringing more friends to check out this local gem.
We visited SottoVoce with a friend on Saturday night. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and taken to our table. Our friend had a bit of an issue and was delayed and the waitress was really accommodating about the delay and kept the drinks coming! Once our friend arrived we order appetisers; calamari, bruschetta and the meatballs. The calamari was a little underwhelming but the other 2 dishes were good. For main courses 2 of us ordered the seafood linguine (one in white sauce and one in red sauce) and my other half ordered the spaghetti rustici with chicken. My linguine in white sauce was a little under seasoned but the pasta was cooked well. My other half loved his spaghetti though, he actually said it was the best pasta dish he has had so far in NYC. For dessert we ordered the cannolis, pear tart and were also given a complimentary tiramisu. The pear tart was just ok (the ice cream it was served with was pretty grainy) but the other desserts were lovely. We ended the meal with espresso martinis, which were delicious and I highly recommend. All in all I would say our experience at SottoVoce was fairly mixed, with some dishes being a standout and others underwhelming., and I would give it 3.5 *s. The atmosphere is great, very homely feel, and the service was really good so I would revisit (but probably order a different main courses). Our total bill for 3 people (including pre dinner drinks, 3 bottles of wine, tax and tip) was $400, which we thought was pretty reasonable for what we had.
