Velvette Brew Espresso Bar Brooklyn Reviews
I was looking for coffee and found much more. Quiet coffee shop, good coffee.
Amazing spot .Very friendly owner and the staff .And above all Wonder coffee! Highly recommended!a totally different experience!
Love this place to come and work- wifi is decent too!
Best cafe in park slope. Friendly staff. Cool. Plenty of seating. Oh, and good coffee.
The folks working here are super friendly and warm. Cute cafe, great coffee.
Delicious coffee and snacks and the people who work here are always so friendly. great spot!
Good coffee, great service, super convenient location!
If you take your coffee serious this is a place to go! Best coffee! Sandwiches and wraps are perfect!
Atmosphere here’s great! Great coffee quality, Pirogies, and Mushroom quice 👍🏻 Friendly stuff and ❤️ music 🎵 Free WiFi 😉
Not only excellent coffee but delicious pastries and sandwiches. I haven't had their ice cream yet but looking forward to that soon. Velvette Brew's cold brew is my go-to drink right now 👍
Attentive service and a consistently smooth espresso flavor each time. Their signature "Velvette" drink is delightfully sweet and complex! Don't miss out on this gem....
This is by far one of, if not the best, coffee I’ve ever had! Every single employee is so nice and accommodating, not to mention the food and drink is nothing short of excellent. It’s on the pricey side, but it’s worth it. The velvette drink - I get it iced - is so excellent. I typically take my coffee with milk and a little sugar, but I never need ant sweetener in their coffee because it’s so rich and not bitter! Just the best! The açaí bowl is amazing and my best friend loves the shakshuka. 10/10!!!
I finally got to try this coffee shop in the park slope area. I had the brew named after the shop which was excellent. It's clean you can sit either indoors or outdoors and work from there they have WiFi. It is a coffee shop so it is either pick up and go or sit for a few.
This shop is a must stop! Great service and friendly team. I am picky about my espresso and they knocked it out of the park! The flavor of the bean was excellent and perfectly curated. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Came in during the soft opening and was impressed by the space. It's set up in a way that allows an individual to get work done without having people constantly moving through and around the tables like other coffee shops in the area. The staff was friendly and the coffee was great.
Best coffee shop and work space in the area. High quality coffee, tea, and food. Friendly service. Nice music. Comfortable seating with electric outlets for laptops. Nice lighting.
This is my favorite coffee shop in all of Park Slope. Their signature Velvette is just so good, and the food is also delicious. The staff is friendly.
The coffee is delicious. Try their signature Velvette, it's so creamy! The staff is lovely and check out their one of kind, shout out to Brooklyn wallpaper in the bathroom
Great coffee (iced velvette with almond milk, $7). Chill vibe, friendly/ kind staff. Haven't enjoyed a coffee shop experience this much since Aix-en-Provence.
The service is outstanding, the coffee is Great, and it's a tranquil spot to focus on work. A solid 10/10 coffee shop experience.
Both the prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich and the iced green tea were very tasty. The staff behind the counter (possibly/probably the owners) were friendly and welcoming.
Their cappucino and matcha latte are great, friendly staff, quite a good spot to work. One of my favourite cafés in Park Slope.
Love this place and the people who work there! Always friendly and smiling, also behind their mask. Love the cappuccino and all the tasty food they have!
Just the best vibes. Kindest staff, great coffee, delicious pastries. What more do you need? I love it here.
Favourite coffee spot in Brooklyn !! Really really nice coffee and service!! Definitely saved for our next trip!!
Some of the best coffee in Park Slope. Service can be a little slow and it gets busy on the weekends, but it’s great overall.
Get the Velvette - so delicious. The chorizo sandwich is good too. Folks are friendly and I love the atmosphere.
Great coffee, great service, chill vibe, best dirty chai
I had the pleasure of meeting the owners through a friend and they're some of the nicest people I've encountered since moving to Brooklyn 5 years ago. They have a wonderfully tasty cappuccino in a land of boring cappuccinos. My friend tried the Velvette, a wonderful blend of coffee richness, creaminess, and just a hint of sweetness. Oh, and they have a lust-worthy chocolate chip cookie.
Very cute coffee shop, my friend got a matcha latte and I got a cortado with banana bread. After a huge meal this is just what we needed. They got a good thing going on and make the beverages perfectly. As an old barista I give these ladies working that day a 10/10. If I lived in the neighborhood I’d be here every day. The service was awesome. Thanks a million
Very distinctive coffee shop. At first I thought all the coffee shops on 5th are more or less the same but not. The level of service and the quality of coffee I received at Velvette is incomparable to other places (not to mention the names). Thanks for raising up the standards of quality, I truly respect that and I recommend this place to all! Oh and the cappuccino is just amazing.
A quiet place to do some work or relax with a friend. The service is always friendly and this is the first time I've been introduced to oat milk in my drink. I'm so used to almond milk or soy milk (which soy is not an option here). I got oat milk in my chai latte and I'm never looking back. So light and frothy!
A gem among the sea of goofy overpriced millennial minimalist core coffee shops in the neighborhood. Coffee is good and not re-examine your economic solvency expensive, but still Park Slope prices obviously. It’s laptop friendly and there’s plenty of seating but also a nice place to meet friends (you won’t feel like you’re breaking the silence by speaking, the way you do in some cafes). Nice place. Nice nice place.
So I left my iPhone charger here earlier today and I was for sure it was long gone and I’d never see it again. Called the shop, not only did they hold it for me, but they nicely packaged it in this clever bag. This is elite level customer service and attention to detail 🤌🏽 Fan for life!!
The best coffee shop in all of Brooklyn. I travel all the way from Midwood just to have their latte. Their lattes are so smooth and tasty. So are their sandwiches. Cozy interior and great staff. Love this place!
One of the gentlemen who served me was so kind. His service was 100% over the top. I felt like I was attended to and was taken care of above and beyond. Thank you so much! He refilled my tea without me asking and he actually smiles at his customer. I just felt like I was treated like a human being. The food and drinks there are so yummy too!
Very cosy mosy adorable place If you need really nice coffee or quiet atmosphere to work on your laptop this is the place to go unlimited time with lap tops on the tables and huge windows which gives daily amount of sun that you need , delicious snacks that almost could be little lunch, and stuff will make coffe exactly the way you like it 😍😍😍
Velvette Brew is probably the best coffee shop in Park Slope. Great staff, corner location with outdoor seating, clean indoor area, and great place to work if you can manage to find an empty table. Drinks are solid and consistent. Decent breakfast choices and most pastries are made fresh throughout the morning.
Smooth, light roast coffee and laidback environment that's perfect for working solo or chatting.
This coffee shop has the perfect ambiance for anyone trying to just relax, catch up on some computer work, or read a book. The staff are super friendly and very courteous. One of my most frequented businesses in the neighborhood! Also, great music choices.
Awesome coffee spot. Great ice cream, professional baristas and plenty of space inside and outside. Fresh croissants baked in-house and good selection of baked goods. Plus they have lunch items and a cute little phone charging vending machine.
Cant say enough good things about this place. Good coffee, Fresh baked cookies, savory options.. pkus the employees as well as the owner are all attentive and personable. Cant recommend enough.
Want to share a review to help support during this time! Stopped by and got an iced oat milk latte to go — really delicious coffee and the pastries looked great although I did not have one. The people working the counter were friendly and in good spirits — what more can you ask for! Definitely stop by and check them out.
Caffeine has no effect on me, but I still find myself coming here at least five times a week. Why? The staff. They are warm, welcoming, friendly, and its a great way to start the day. If i walk by and see Ian, Rachel, Tyler, or Camila, I know im going in for at least one cup. Definitely the best coffee shop in the neighborhood.
Delightful! Popped in for a coffee and decided to try the signature Velvette - it’s vanilla with brown sugar, milk, and espresso, not too sweet and absolutely nothing artificial about it. The baristas were super dope and kind, handling the morning line with grace. Lovely atmosphere and outdoor seating, will def be back!
Over the time this place has gotten better to me. Workers have been very warm and friendly every time we've come by and have made delicious drinks on these cold days ESPECIALLY their hot chocolate. Bringing in my child to warm up after his soccer practice, they make it nice and creamy with lots of marshmallows 👌
let's just say that i've always wanted to open a cafe, and this place is pretty darn close to how i'd do it myself--lots of food/pastry options, great coffee, and the music they play is mostly indie pop i would say. i like the interiors as well, great place to work with many seating options & outlets. my go-to order is the spinach quiche and iced americano with oat milk. above all, the staff is always so so welcoming and sweet.
One of the best coffee spots , no matter have you an hour /30 mins to sit in pleasant place and enjoy warm delicious cappuccino or just grab muffin with ice tasty coffee and go to work. This espresso bar is always clean, neat and have a wonderful music . In love with friendly people who work there and always a pleasure to visit it. Keep it up!
I absolutely love this place. I found the original on Smith Street not that long ago and then they announced a Park Slope location. The coffee is awesome and the people are just as awesome. Here’s an example: I love a cortado. They have an iced version, which I never really had although I basically know it’s like an iced latte with a bit less milk. But that’s too much milk for me in an iced drink. So after the owner showed me in the cup how much milk there was and I decided on an americano instead because I still thought it was too much milk, he told me he’d make me a version where he mixed the espresso and milk instead of pouring the milk on top of the espresso. That means a little less milk and a stronger taste, which is EXACTLY what I wanted. Perfect isn’t the right word. That kind of customer service plus this kind of coffee and great seating makes for a place I’ll keep coming back to. Really glad Velvette Brew found Park Slope and that I found Velvette Brew.
All the expected coffee and tea options but in a relaxed open setting. Made to order food items are available for a quick bite.
Nice place to enjoy coffee and a snack, with outdoor seating on 5th Avenue. Friendly service and good coffee.
Cute coffee shop in park slope. They have some outdoor seating as well. I got the matcha latte and the mocha and the pistachio croissant. The pistachio croissant paired well with the matcha latte. The staff were friendly and made the order correctly. They also have some merchandise on the wall for purchase.
Great ambiance. Signature latte tastes great. I worked there on my laptop for about 2 hours. Great that they have seating and wifi for people to work. Would benefit from more outlets and the seating is a bit uncomfortable after a while, so didn't stay long.
Friendly quick service and nice atmosphere. However, the latte tasted more like oatmilk ( I thought this place uses Double shot for a latte, so I assumed I shouldn’t ask for it. If you guys use just a single shot of espresso for a latte, you should consider to make it with double, the taste will be much richer.
Their pastries looked very good so I tried one! Unfortunately the jam tart was too sweet, even for me having a sweet tooth. Overall didn't have a great experience for my first visit, but might try again.
Milk in the latte was burnt to the point you can’t taste the drink. Baristas were very unpleasant. The place itself and ambiance is very good. That the reason for any stars at all.
Looks nice inside very old Brooklyn. Cute pastries . But my latte was so weak and tasted like plastic . It wasn't that great at all , and underwhelmed me . I wish I could say it was amazing, I may pop back in and try 1 more time but it's not at the top of my list .
Okay coffee. Ordered a vanilla cappuccino, too much milk to coffee ratio for a capp - I couldn’t rlly taste the espresso much. I’ll come back to try their espresso another time, but probably won’t be visiting often.
Nice, cozy place, the caffe is good however the food could be more faster. I was there Thursday (07/22),the place wasn’t as busy like other places around the neighborhood but even like that I had to wait 20ish min to my chicken wrap.
This is a solid cafe and used to be one of my favorites. When the owner and one of the managers is there the coffee is superb. I know them for amazing coffee! I’ve been two times in the past week and the cappuccino was subpar. The first time it was too sweet (very off brand for this place). They fixed it and it was great per usual. The second time the capuchins was lukewarm. And when I asked for another, it wasn’t done as well, the level of care usually given wasn’t, and the barista was rude about the request. One of the reasons I loved this place because the coffee was consistently amazing and this seems to be changing.
Would give 5 stars because the atmosphere and coffee is great, but they don’t offer actual mugs to stay and even use plastic vs paper cups so the lack of environmental awareness is disappointing.
Cafe is very quiet, easy to work in, seating is rigid and uncomfortable Got a tea and a sandwich wasn’t impressed Acceptable cafe overall with good clientele but struggling to see the appeal for the high rating
Tasty croissant and iced tea but the cup was so overflowing with ice the guy who served me struggled to get the lid on. I spent 13 bucks on a single pastry and drink, which I understand for the neighborhood, but getting barely any tea was a total rip off. maybe worth it if you use cafés for a home office
Coffee wasn’t great and the pastries were nothing special. Nice interior
apparently it’s ok to charge $5 for sad espresso if you have cool merch with japanese on it for no reason
Worst coffee I've had in a decade! Mocha tasted like water. Macchiato looked like a cappuccino, and was the same size as the mocha. The cookie was good.
