This bake shop is a gem. Fresh bread, pastries, and savory bakes line the counter as you walk in making it very hard to choose. But choose you must as the shotgun layout of the entry means you have little time to make a decision before it’s your turn. The great thing is everything tastes delicious so you can’t go wrong, honestly. They also offer a variety of coffee and tea. Prices are so very reasonable considering the quality of the bakes. 💖

Had the grilled cheese and the pumpkin muffin, both were good! The pumpkin muffin was great because it wasnt too sweet! Appreciate that they dont over-sweeten or over-salt things like a lot of bakeries do!

This is an amazing bakery in Brooklyn with a great selection of pastries, wish I could have gone back to try more items. Everything we got was excellent and there's a lot of seating inside and out in the courtyard. Highly recommend trying some of their baked goods and the avocado toast.

I feel incredibly lucky to live near simple loaf. Their pastries rival any in New York. I particularly like the apple danish and the pasties de nata, but their croissants are also superb. The baguettes are delicious and cheap. Only downside is that their coffee is not the best.

Great baked goods, mid lattes, short lines. Simple Loaf is everything a cozy neighborhood bakery should be. Lovely staff, chill patio and indoor space for working during the day. Good, fuss free food without the massive lines plaguing every overhyped spot in Brooklyn. The breads and pastries are definitely the stars of the show. Skip the beverages and you’ll be fine.

I love this place so much! One of my favorite bakeries in the neighborhood. The pastries are incredible! Here are some of my favorites: Cheese Danish, Ham & Cheese Croissant, Turkey Jalapeño Croissant, Chocolate Almond Croissant, Lemon Poppy Muffin & Salted Caramel Flan Pasticeri. Everything tastes so fresh & the quality of the ingredients are really good. Also, the cappuccino is delicious! It gets really busy on the weekends. There is indoor & outdoor seating. The staff are always friendly & helpful!

This place is a gem in Brooklyn. They serve super freshly baked patries and bread. Their bread is good. So is their coffee. Worth the price! Also, this place shows great hospitality to customers.

I love the backyard space, great for meetups with friends, loved ones, or just a solo soul wanting a nice spot to relax. It's never crowded (inside might be depending on the day and time). Might not be the best for you if you aren't a fan of the cold, now that NYC is finally getting cooler weather. However, there's a great selection of tea to choose from to warm you up wherever you choose to sit. There's a good variety of baked food to eat on, too, breads to croissant (everyone I've tried tasted delicious). There's also adult beverages too. Extra points for the pumpkin beer in pumpkin spice season 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

I lived in Park Slope for two months when I moved back to Brooklyn and as someone who has grown up in NY, this is one of the best bakeries/cafes I have ever been to. It is one of the highlights as I’ve gotten reintroduced to New York and reminds me why I fell in love with Brooklyn. I have had most things on their menu, but I have to say their savory pastries absolutely hit it out of the park. This includes the baked egg (bacon is a must!), ham and cheese croissant, and turkey, jalapeño and cheese croissant. I also love their scallion potato frittata, which is a huge portion size btw! The sweet pastries are also amazing, my favorite being the chocolate almond croissant. Some lunch highlights include the chicken salad croissant sandwich, the Caesar salad sandwich, and the turkey sandwich. I love that you can order most of their sandwiches by a half or whole. Half is still a generous portion, and I will only get a whole if I’m splitting with my partner. With all of the bread baked in house, everything is super fresh and made to perfection. The team there also rocks. Special shout out to Lupe, but everyone we’ve encountered has been amazing, and we’ve grown to look forward to seeing everyone almost daily. I’m moving out of the neighborhood, but I will only be a few subway stops away. Thank you for being amazing!

Amazing little yet not so little restaurant. They provide food to go, or you can sit indoors, out in the backyard or outside in front of the place. The environment is very tranquil, relaxing, and gives off positive vibes. There is free wifi and a water station available as well. Prices are pretty reasonable and you get your bang for your buck. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Their food was amazing. I had the wake-up call for breakfast, and it was delicious. Every bite was a joy, and I would highly recommend it. Their coffee is also good quality. I had their cold brew black, and it was some of the best cold brew I ever tasted. I would also recommend their sticky walnut bun, with its sweet, soft, and nutty flavors blending well together. It's definitely one of the best places to come with family, friends, or just by yourself.

somehow keep missing out on the pastries i actually wanna try here but have been pleasantly surprised by the alternatives i end up with :-) tho the apricot danish was a bit underwhelming edit: it’s been a couple years since my first visit and my new favorite here is the breakfast sandwich! it’s a little pricey at $16 but filling and the toasted sourdough with the runny poached egg is just unbeatable.

Although the croissants and pain au chocolat were great, I think the highlight of this bakery so far, for me, were the two sourdough breads I got for home. They slice them up for you and are some of the best bread I’ve tried in my life. Would recommend getting a loaf if you’re ever around. Service is always super kind too! Will try the popular chocolate almond croissant next.

I was in the area for the grand opening of The Ripped Bodice bookstore but arrived quite a bit early so decided to find a place for breakfast and the Bakehouse was on my foodie list so off I went. First thing just walking in I was presented with the most beautiful and golden assortment of sweet and savory pastries. It was a bit of a challenge to pick just one as they all looked absolutely amazing and delicious. I went with the baked egg and bacon pastry and an iced coffee. It was so freaking delicious!! My taste buds were singing with how yummy and flavorful it was. I grabbed a sea salt chocolate chip cookie for the hubby on my way out. I definitely have plans to come back and try something else.

EDIT: The owner has clarified that the vanilla beans in the syrup cause the black specks in the latte. Although I do not personally enjoy the texture of the syrup, I was mistaken that this was an issue with how the coffee is prepared. I have adjusted my review accordingly. The pastries are 10/10, and the food is great as well. However, every time I've ordered a latte, it's been filled with coffee grounds. I tried the latte on 3 separate ocassions, and every time it's filled with grounds. The coffee is high quality, but the preparation is lacking. Please train your staff on how to make a latte without grounds in it.

Really a wonderful café bakery serving all kinds of baked sweet and savory treats, coffees & teas. My Irish scone was delicious and large, not too sweet, just the way I love a scone. There’s ample indoor and outdoor seating, with a lovely backyard with tables and sun umbrellas. I’m sure to return often!

SOFT FRESH BREAD!! So happy they decided to move and open out here. Delicious freshly made bread that sells out daily! If you stop in the morning thinking you can wait to pick up later in the afternoon - bad move. Get it right then. People are recognizing how good their goods are and gobbling them up immediately. Their pastries are also probably some of the best I've ever had around here. Moist and flavorful such as the blueberry Danish which I find is dry at OTHER locations and their blueberry muffin (did I detect some lemon in there?). The cinnamon muffin is another must have. Got a mocha to chill in back and that was also made well. In back you have this cute country like self-seating area to relax and enjoy company with friends. From there you can see the goods being made from behind a glass partition. There's also a nice backyard to top it off for warm days. The chocolate babka is always a great choice as is the chocolate almond croissant 🥐. They've even added more breakfast options for the weekend like an array of quiche and frittatas to choose from. Outdoor seating with covered umbrellas are now in front add another option to relax and eat. This place has it all!

Beautiful new place. The pastries on display look gorgeous (sadly can’t eat the vast majority as a vegan). Tried the avocado sandwich (asked to try it on sourdough). The sandwich was good and the bread was standout. The sourdough bread is sublime — chewy and complex, crusty and airy with a rich flavor. Definitely recommend the sourdough! Also tried the banana muffin which was great— not too sweet and had a nice chew. A great addition to the neighborhood. Do give this place a try!

4.5🌟 Turkey sandwich was very good, definitely worth getting the full sandwich and taking the other half to go if you can’t finish it all (just bc the cost of half is expensive). Breakfast tacos were also good, but towards the third one it got a bit too soggy and hard to eat. 95% of the pastries were gone by Sunday afternoon, but that just shows they’re pretty popular.

Bad service. Overpriced & inadequate food. I visited this cafe in hopes to enjoy a light lunch and pleasant ambiance along our exploration of Park Slope on my Birthday. Off first glance, the cafe is charming and offers a wide variety. After ordering, we asked if we could sit out front by the street. The empty tables were filled with dirty plates and utensils left by previous customers. We asked the woman who took our order if anyone was sitting there (clearly no one was) and she replied "I have no idea". We then asked if the tables could be cleared so we could sit. She begrudgingly walked by us, proceeded outside, threw the plates in the bin, and walked back inside. After saying "thank you", she didn't bother to glance our way. I received the avocado toast I ordered, which cost a whopping $18.78 (including tip) and laughed in despair. It was such a sad piece of hard sourdough bread with 4 tiny slices of tomato and a stale avocado. Won't be returning and wouldn't recommend. As someone who used to work in the service industry, it’s a shame to witness people underestimating the value of quality + friendly customer service.
