Rana Fifteen Brooklyn Reviews
Fantastic setup and atmosphere, a little loud from other tables due to the acoustics of the place.. but it’s worth it because of the looks for sure! Food was ALIVE, fresh and rich in flavour and many little plates of different options that are served with the main dish. If you’re in Brooklyn, do your self a favour. שלום, peace.
Honestly, so good, and such a specific flavor set; I haven't had anything like it. I was at a party a few months ago and there happen to be 3 Turkish people there. I asked them what the most authentic Turkish food in New York was and they said Rana15 and some place on the upper west, but Rana15 was literally 2 streets down from me. I've been twice in a little over a week, once for brunch and once for dinner. Both were straight fire. The labeh, the orzo, shrimp, bread. I like that they offer a pretty reasonably priced tasting meal, though I didn't partake. I'm a huge fan of the male server, feels potentially controversial to say but I love his accent.
Best Turkish restaurant in town. They have a tasting menu everything so fresh and tasty. We had branzino and pasta. Nice decor and really great service.
Really loved this place. Went for brunch- unique and special, and very vegetarian friendly! Felt like there were endless combinations with all the little dishes. The setting is pretty and feels secluded. I highly recommend, also much cheaper than it would be in the city!
Great food and really good and friendly service. Parking in the area is a little hard especially on a Friday night. All of the appetizers were really good, the tasting for $45 is a great value. The Branzino and lamb chops were great, the steak was a little cold for some reason. Great place overall.
As a born and raised Turk, I'm skeptical going to Turkish restaurants in NYC because I'm expecting to be disappointed... I was happily IMPRESSED! We came here with our friends and loved it! The interior is super cool and definitely Eagean vibes. It seems family owned, the service was excellent. The food was delicious!! Love the Rana's table/ fixed menu!. There were twists on classic Turkish dishes which I appreciated. And lastly, I love that it's in the Brooklyn. Will definitely come back!
My partner and I tried the Rana's Table prix fixe, and were throughly impressed. Considering the excellent quality and generous portions, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better value for money in Brooklyn. Not to mention, the decor was elegant (but not stuffy), and the servers were very attentive. The atom labneh is a MUST. Can't wait to try their brunch menu!
Highly Recommend! I love authentic Turkish and fresh Mediterranean cuisine and l'm honestly be impressed with the food here. Ambiance is chic and beautiful and the staff is always attentive and friendly. I've been here multiple times already and its become my go-to spot for when friends and family members are in town. Do yourself a favor and choose the Rana's Table tasting menu- this is where the restaurant really shines- The table is literally filled with an abundance of different mezze in addition to the entree you pick. The brunch is just as delicious- I brought a large group yesterday for a birthday celebration and it didn't disappoint. Everyone loved the food and had a wonderful time. So glad this place opened up in the neighborhood! It's really a gem!
Absolutely delightful. The food is delicious and represents a part of Turkish cuisine that’s often overlooked. Service is so attentive and personal, price is great and I haven’t had one bad dish during either of my visits so far. A hidden gem!
Incredible Turkish restaurant!! Loved the Turkish breakfast which totally reminded me of our trip to Turkey. The family style fixed menu is exactly how breakfast is served in Turkey. Most importantly every dish was super good, even the pancakes (not too sweet). They even have the mix of tahini with grape molasses. The baguette served on the side was also of super high quality (could tell it's from a good bakery). Wish they would also have Turkish bagels (simits). With the Turkish tea, it was a wonderful and perfect experience with great friendly service. Great for groups too. The four of us were super full. Highly recommend.
The experience was more than a five star. The restaurant has a greece atmosphere with the best authentic greek food I've ever had. The ambiance was so cozy and inviting. The food was full of so many flavors and the portion was just right with great quality food and service. I'm looking forward to coming back and try their other entrees and appetizers.
Stumbled upon this Mediterranean gem while driving to a nearby Staples and decided to come back the same evening to try it out—and wow, it did *not* disappoint. They offer a $45 shared menu that’s absolutely worth it. Every single dish was beautifully presented, with rich flavors and generous portions. The food came out fast, but nothing felt rushed—the service was excellent and attentive from start to finish. The ambience is warm and stylish, perfect for a casual dinner or a special night out. This place is a high-end hidden gem in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back!
Love this place! My wife and I went to Turkey for our honeymoon and fell in love with the food. We always enjoy it when we have it in the U.S., but freshness, quality, and uniqueness of the food always varies. Well, Rana Fifteen takes first place in all categories. We went for brunch. I can’t wait to go back for dinner. I was worried that my 10y.o. Would find it too exotic, but she was over the moon with the pancakes and then proceeded to try many other things which is not often the case. We also loved how the provide small amounts of so many things to share. Nothing worse than going to an interesting restaurant and having to pay for more food than you want just to get a decent selection. It was so easy to order and have so many amazing things to try!
I had the tasting menu, really great loved almost everything. Possibly the most dishes I’ve had at one meal. I was stuffed but still finished the dessert, great stuff. Didn’t love the cocktails but the 15(?) dishes of food that came w Rana’s Table were so great, who cares
I wish we had a bigger group so we could try more. The fava appetizer and shrimp kebab were highlights of the food…the service and atmosphere were next level.
10/10 🔥🔥🔥 You can really taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients in each dish. Everything was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious!! The garlic shrimp was one of the best garlic shrimp dishes I’ve EVER had in any cuisine. It was so flavorful, it left me wanting more! The orange glazed octopus was so tender and the glaze was yummy. The grilled Branzino was moist and packed with flavor! The lamb chops were perfectly cooked and the sweetness of the apricots was a nice marriage of flavors. Loved the ambience and decor, it was simple yet chic and the service was great. I can’t wait to go back!
The food was amazing and the service was very welcoming. can’t wait to go back!
I really enjoyed my visit at Rana Fifteen. As someone who visits restaurants frequently a lot of the food is repetitive and rather bland. Rana Fifteen gave me great flavor at a reasonable price for NY. The ambiance was laid back, clean & simple. I was seated in a party of 2, but I can see the staff was very accommodating for large groups as well. Our waitress was kind and knew the menu well, happy to give recommendations at request which we appreciated.
Beautiful space and they really feed you. Great food. Nice spot to have in the neighborhood.
I want to begin by expressing how thrilled I am that Rana has opened. As a Turkish individual, I can confidently say this is the best Turkish brunch you’ll find. I’m not sure how some reviewers have given negative feedback, but after 41 years in Türkiye, I can assure you that the brunch here is exceptional. It evokes fond memories of my grandmother's, aunts', and mother's cooking. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The decor is lovely, and the service is attentive. Overall, it’s a fantastic experience.
We loved the brunch here. The yogurt option was so good that we'll likely just keep getting that instead of trying the tomato. Haven't tried dinner yet, but the brunch has convinced us that we have to give it a shot.
Where should I start? Everything is excellent in this restaurant, friendly service, amazing tastes and cozy atmosphere! As a Turkish person myself, I proudly bring my guests here to introduce them to some really authentic Turkish tastes, like stuffed mussels (midye dolma) which you can't find anywhere else I'm sure unless you are on the streets of Istanbul! I also think that their menu reflects the rich Turkish cuisine well, which is not limited to kebabs. Love this place and they never failed me! All the tastes are great but stuffed mussels and fava are phenomenal! Btw. their brunch is also legendary, I could write a whole other paragraph about that! Long story short, if you wanna try some real traditional Turkish tastes with a modern twist go to "Rana15"!
The food was delicious! I did the Rana’s Table. Two people do family style for 8 appetizers, 1 mezzes, 1 entree, 1 side, and dessert. All the appetizers were fresh and delicious. I loved the calamari, labneh, shrimp, and fava beans. Since there was 4 of us, we got 2 entrees - grilled branzino and steak. The fish was fresh and grilled with herbs and lemon. The steak was perfectly cooked with a yummy tomato sauce. The dessert was the perfect an out of sweetness with pistachios and strawberries. Restaurant is so cozy, clean, and beautiful. I felt like I was at a resort. The service is amazing. Our waitress was so kind and very attentive. I would definitely come back again, especially to try the brunch!
Amazing Turkish food! We ordered the tasting menu (Rana’s Table) and it came with 8 appetizers, 4 seasonal dishes, 1 entree and 2 desserts for 2 people. Really liked the Iskender Steak with a filling red sauce! The stuffed mussels, shrimp, olives and more are delicious. On top of that, the restaurant has great service and it seems to feel like a family restaurant. It has a cute white Mediterranean decor. Would def go back!
All I can say is WOW. One of the best Mediterranean restaurants I have been to in a long, long time - and my family is Middle Eastern so I know good food from this region. Everything we ate was exquisite, exceptional, delicious, incredible! Our server was sweet, informative and had amazing energy. The ambiance is STUNNING - so cozy and inviting, you truly feel as though you're in Greece by the seaside with the beautiful plants and white exposed brick everywhere. Gorgeous bar too! I'm in love with this place and can't wait to go back.
Came for brunch. The eggs, made in two different styles, are great. The brunch also comes with multiple side plates, all fresh and tasty. Also loved their bread. I’d say this place rivals many breakfast places in Turkey.
Second time coming here and I can’t recommend it enough! The staff is so friendly. I’ve gotten the octopus both times and have loved it. The labneh if perfect. The fried chicken comes with an amazing fresh yogurt herb sauce. Highly recommend Rana Fifteen!
Great food. Head greeter / waitress was v attentive, the other boy and lady were a bit grumpy (maybe short staffed, maybe not used to the "have a nice day" usa culture!). Great space for bigger groups!
Just had dinner here and it was incredible! Definitely recommend their set menu. Will be back soon!
Amazing experience at Rana fifteen. Got the Rana’s table experience which comes with 8+ appetizers and a main dish and side to share, plus dessert. Everything was incredible - such fresh and different flavors, I loved getting to try so many dishes. My favorites were the brown butter labneh/yogurt dip, shrimp, citrus and cheese arugula salad, and calamari. We got the lamb, which was super flavorful. Dessert was fantastic as well. And such a great deal too for so much and such high quality food! Will definitely be back!
What a beautiful new gem on the park slope/gowanus boarder. The owners did a beautiful renovation, lovely vibe, warm and welcoming staff and the best of all- great food for a reasonable price! Rana's menu offers a "rana's table" menu that includes ALL the appetizers, mezze, 1 entree + 1 side and dessert for only $39 per person. For our entree we took lamb chops (for additional $10). Every dish was beautifully presented and flavorful. Go ahead and enjoy!
Great food, great people. Loved this place! The only thing is missing is some music to go along with Turkish raki! :)
Love love love the food here - But please please please open another F.O.B. - it was one of the few Filipino fusion that actually a success in modernizing Filipino food but maintaining its original flavors and the drinks were also great.
All around amazing place , the food is very good and all the waiters are very nice . I genuinely recommend this to anyone out there looking for some good food for a solid price !!!
Have you ever had Turkish food from the Aegean Sea region? It’s your favorite Turkish food with a sophisticated touch to it. I got to experience Turkish brunch at @ranafifteen and it did not disappoint! Just simply pick which eggs you want and the delicious small plates keep coming out. Everything was so fresh and high quality! The service was amazing and the atmosphere is amazing because you feel like you’re in a cave! It’s so pretty! It’s a great deal too might I add. Out of all the brunch restaurants I've tried in NY, this is now my favourite, and by far the most unique. The interior is beautiful, the staff was nice, and the best part was the food. In my experience, many NY brunch places do a good job at creating a nice dining environment, with cute decor, good lighting, and pretty food presentation, but their food is generally unmemorable. That was not the case here. At Rana Fifteen, brunch is a fixed menu, where for $32 per person, they serve a Turkish spread that includes your choice of egg (we got the eggs in tomato sauce), strawberry and orange jam (I loved the orange jam, it was very unique), pancakes, bread, cream and honey, goat cheese, feta cheese, eggplant and potato, cucumber and tomato salad, beef sausage, and fruits. I really enjoyed sampling the wide variety of tasty foods.
Ranafifteen is a hidden gem for those craving Western Turkish Cuisine, Our recent visit for the tasting menu left us utterly impressed. The tasting menu cost $39 per person ( min 2 person ), start with 8 mouthwatering appetizers, followed by 4 seasonal dishes, plus 1 entree, 1 side and dessert. The stuffed mussels and shrimp were standouts-bursting with delicious flavors. For the main course, we opted for the grilled Branzino, a hit for seafood lovers. Cooked to perfection, it had that fantastic smoky grill taste. Beyond the food, Rana Fifteen’s ambiance and service are top-notch. The place is stylish, creating great atmosphere for a memorable meal. In summary, this spot is a must-visit if you are into Western Turkish Cuisine.
Very cool cave vibes. My friends and I came here before an art show for dinner and drinks. I recommend getting different sides with your entree and sharing them, the cauliflower was our favorite. Only critique is the steak dish could use less sauce (I’m usually a saucy gal but the steak got lost in the sauce). Drinks were delicious, I look forward to visiting again soon!
Definitely exceeded my expectations only because I didn't think the menu was that exciting but every dish had such interesting flavor and was so delicious. We came Wednesday night and it was surprisingly busy. Great service. They don't serve alcohol so it's BYOB but there is a bar constructed so I guess that's coming. We shared the Rana table, which includes a bunch of appetizers and mezes, one entree, one side, and dessert. It gives you a chance to try a little bit of everything and is very filling. All of the dishes had a simple elegance about them and were so good. The standouts for me were the fish roe spread, the fried calamari, stuffed mussels, and the salad. We had the steak for entree and it was tender, flavorful sauce, the pita was pretty soggy though. The dessert was interesting.
We were a group of three and ate there before the NYE. We got their set menu with lots of meze and two main dishes which were lamb and branzino. All of the food was tasty no bad memories. We got a 70cl rakı which is the best drink in the world and with everything included the price was $250 for all of us. I feel like that’s insane when you compare it with $18 cocktails all around. The food is not Turkiye level insane but it was still really good ;) I’m taking one point off the atmosphere because we were sitting on a stone bench and they took our pillow that we got from a chair (because our butts were freezing on the stone) and the waiter got the pillows back rudely. She could’ve provided some other pillows or could’ve been nicer. Good for a group meeting dinner.
Loved this place! The food was incredible, especially the fresh seafood and the İskender steak. The presentation was beautiful and the flavors were amazing. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend Rana Fifteen if you want authentic flavors, great service, and a wonderful dining experience. Will definitely come back!
First time trying Turkish food and BABYYYY the flavors were next level. Citrus, herbaceous, and bold spices in every bite. The Rana Table is the move myou get 8 appetizers, 4 mezze, 1 entree to share, 1 side and 2 dessert $52 per person. We had calamari, feta cheese & olives, garlic shrimp, mussel dolma, tuna tartare, a huge beet & corn salad, atom labneh whipped with chili, garlic & brown butter, fava bean hummus, orzo & kale, meatballs, artichoke, smoked fish… and let’s talk about that muhammara steak . Melt-in-your-mouth perfection. They didn’t even ask how I wanted it cooked and somehow nailed it. Even the gin cocktail had me converted. The dessert was delicious as well. It came with a lady finger and a pistachio cream. Calm, casual vibes, no frills, great music, and friendly service. Perfect for groups, date night, or family-style dining. I’m absolutely coming back. Emma thank you for your customer service your recommendations did not steer us wrong. Tell them that @EatingwithEtienne (Instagram )sent you
Rana Fifteen is an amazing place for authentic Turkish food. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels warm and inviting. The food is absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Everything we tried was fresh and so well made. Definitely one of the best Turkish spots — highly recommend
I had a great experience at Rana Fifteen. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was fresh and flavorful, and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a fantastic spot for a great meal in Brooklyn. I’ll definitely be back!
The food was really good overall. The stuffed mussels were honestly the best I’ve had in the NJ/NY area — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. The Iskender steak was a very fascinating recipe, something different and unique, and it tasted great. I also loved the salad. Service was fast and friendly, which made the experience even better. Definitely coming back!
The food here is absolutely phenomenal. There is so much variety on the menu, and every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. Each plate that came out was a 10/10, and honestly, I didn’t even know where to start because everything looked and smelled incredible. You can truly taste the authenticity in every bite, and it felt like a real culinary journey through Turkey. The service elevated the experience even more. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel like honored guests rather than just customers. The hospitality, energy, and attention to detail created an inviting and memorable experience from start to finish. This is more than just a meal—it’s an experience.
this spot is so slept on! my Turkish friend recommended this to me, and I’m stunned it hasn’t gone viral yet. get the Rana’s table set menu, it’s an amazing deal for the variety and sheer amount of food you get. I went with a group of 5 and we were able to choose 3 entrees and 3 sides in addition to all of the appetizers. the standouts for me were the appetizer sampler (all of them were amazing), and the Muhamarra steak— cooked to perfection and the walnut sauce was amazing. it was SO much food, and everything was phenomenal. the vibes inside were great, perfect for a cute date or group dinner. service was impeccable. I can’t wait to be back again and again and again!
Amazing Turkish food - definitely some of the best lamb chops and octopus I’ve had in years. The Rana Table deal was awesome, offering a perfect way to sample all eight appetizers along with four additional mezzes. With four people we got 2 entrees to share and the portions were just right. I gave the food five stars, though I do wish there had been more dessert options to finish off the meal—we couldn’t get enough of the pistachio lady finger!
Tremendously exceptional. Our servers were all so kind and generous. The food was exceptional - we got the prefixe that delivered all the appetizers, a selection of entrees, and dessert. Favorites were definitely the lamb entree, calamari app, and spicy dip app. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and I can’t wait to return.
We had an amazing Turkish breakfast at Rana 15 in Brooklyn. The spread was generous and delicious — we had börek, menemen, çılbır, pancakes, a variety of cheeses and olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, jams, tahini with grape molasses, and more. Everything was super fresh and flavorful. We finished with Turkish tea and then coffee, which was the perfect ending. We went as a big group and the staff was very welcoming. The ambiance was cozy and warm — it honestly made me feel like I was in Izmir. Highly recommend this place if you’re craving a real Turkish breakfast! Definitely will be back over and over again 💙
Really enjoyed a solo date here and the place is fantastic! Rose was my server and her attention and work ethic really shone through! Not only was their food amazing, but the wine they offer, top tier! As this being my first time trying Turkish food, I'm excited to continue trying more! Everything off their menu is great, some more spicy than others, like their Guveç dish, but very delicious. Check out our video and follow on us both on Instagram @JadaExploresAll
A delicious experience and super filling! Rana's table was full of variety and flavor. Whatever that tomato sauce/dip was changed my life - I'm obsessed!!! The calamari was also very good. Both the mains we got were great - I preferred the Iskender steak over the branzino but that's probably also my tomato sauce bias. The dessert was also excellent. Overall great experience and would definitely return!
Brunch here was phenomenal! The food is served family style and includes both sweet and savory items, many of which are vegetarian. Some highlights include shakshuka, pancakes with fresh berry compote, marinated feta and olives, and spanakopita. Everything was very tasty, fresh, and presented beautifully. There was not a single dish we didn’t love. Service was also very good. Not having vegan milk options is my only criticism, but they made up for it with very delicious Turkish tea and honey. We will definitely be back!
Had an unforgettable date night at Rana Fifteen—an absolute treasure in Brooklyn NY! 🍽️✨ The vibe, the service, and most importantly, the food were phenomenal. Their $45 per person *Rana Table* option is a steal: multiple dishes, all showcasing seasonal ingredients. From small plates to seafood, cheese, dips, and olive oil, every bite is a delight. 🌿 Inspired by the West Coast of Turkey on the Aegean Sea, Rana Fifteen offers a unique culinary experience that's both refreshing and comforting. Can't wait to visit again; just call me a regular because the food was that damn good! 😋
From the moment we entered Rana Fifteen, we were swept up in an atmosphere of warmth and professionalism. The owner, who greeted us upon arrival, was not only knowledgeable but exuded a friendly and accommodating personality that made us feel truly cared for throughout our visit. The meal kicked off with an impressive selection from "Rana's Table," which featured all eight appetizers. Each dish was a delightful introduction to the restaurant's culinary prowess. For our entrees, the steak and the octopus stood out, both masterfully cooked and bursting with flavor. The accompanying wines, a thoughtful selection of red and white, were perfectly suited to enhance the meal. The staff at Rana Fifteen deserve a special mention. They were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was seamless. And the finale, a dessert of sumptuous pudding, was a true highlight, leaving a lasting impression of both taste and presentation. Rana Fifteen not only met but exceeded our expectations with its exceptional food and stellar service. It's a gem worth recommending for anyone looking for a standout dining experience in Brooklyn. Whether you're a local or just passing through, don't miss the chance to indulge at this wonderful establishment.
Wow. I don’t think I’ve ever described a brunch as beautiful before, but this is it. Incredible presentation, a wide array of small dishes and flavors to choose from, and just a beautiful experience. The staff/owners are very kind and really take pride in what they create. Everyone should come here for a brunch! I believe it’s $27 per person and you share everything.
Really lovely surprise to stumble on while visiting! My partner and I got the Rana's Table special with the branzino. Everything was so delicious and it was perfectly served for two! The drinks were fine and they seemed a little understaffed, but our server was wonderful, anyway.
Came for dinner and had Rana’s table for $39 each ($10 extra for the branzino entree). The appetizers and mezes are overall good, especially the grilled shrimps and labneh, while some are so-so. Grilled branzino was very simple but fresh, with olive oil and spices on top, taking you right to the seaside. Service was friendly but it’s a bit loud and cold sitting inside.
We did the Rana's Table for $45pp, where we got small plates of their apps for tasting, a side + entree to SHARE, and dessert for each. It's a perfect portion for 2 people, in my opinion. My favorite of the apps were clams, mussels, and spreads. Their salad was also quite good and fresh. There are apples in it and I'm not usually a fan of fruit in salad! The steak entree was very good! Again, a perfect portion for 2 people. There's ample seating + staff were very attentive. Overall, I think this spot is worth a try!
If you're looking for a Turkish breakfast this is a really good spot. They went all in on the options for cheeses, eggs and even sujouk. The food was delicious but the service was a bit slow, to be fair they had only recently opened when I went. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it as a nice brunch spot to get together with friends and the morning option is a sharing one. There are 2 options for it and each option serves 2 people so if you're 4 you get to try it all. Great great food and nice environment.
We were there for Mother’s Day brunch you brought all the food is showing in the picture with three pieces of bread, 2 cup of tea and that’s it. You want me to drink alcohol. I cannot do it because I’m older person. I was cheating not nice. I was still hungry when I came home. Shame on you.
Went to Rana Fifteen. The food was slightly above average, the steak was fantastic, but the service was not good. The waitress/ waiter were quite rude. Decent above average food. Likely will not come back again
I couldn’t think about the food & cocktails I got here because I thought I was slowly poisoned by the wax/crayon smell of the restaurant before even ordering
We went to Rana Fifteen for brunch as a group of 12 Turkish friends. They had a fixed menu for $35 per person, meant to be shared between two people, with a choice of menemen or çılbır. For our group of five, we should’ve gotten two menemen and two çılbır but we only received one of each, which was confusing and disappointing. As someone who grew up with traditional Turkish breakfasts, I was really underwhelmed. Breakfast in our culture is a big deal—generous, warm, and filling. We had to ask multiple times for bread, which is basic. On top of that, tea wasn’t even included in the brunch menu (which it usually is), and we were charged for both tea and Turkish coffee—things that are often offered as a kind gesture (ikram) in most Turkish places. We ended up paying close to $60 per person. Honestly, that's pretty wild—especially since they're in Brooklyn. There are Turkish restaurants in Manhattan that serve better food, better portions, and much warmer hospitality for the same or even less. Disappointed, to say the least. Wouldn’t go back for brunch. Response to the reply: I’m honestly quite surprised by this reply. As someone who values honest feedback and respectful communication, I was not expecting this tone—especially from a business owner. Let me clarify a few things: Yes, we were a group of 12, but I mentioned in my review that five of us were sharing a set menu together—this was not to mislead, but to highlight the confusion with how the dishes were portioned and served. No one was "screaming." I did express frustration at the service and the pricing, but not in the way you're describing. It’s disappointing to see my concerns dismissed with sarcasm rather than professionalism. It’s not unreasonable to expect tea to be included in a Turkish brunch—it’s a basic cultural expectation and standard at most Turkish restaurants, especially for a $35 prix fixe meal. That’s not about wanting something “for free,” it’s about what is culturally and reasonably expected. I never demanded a discount in exchange for a review—I shared my honest experience after dining at your restaurant, just like many customers do. This response says a lot more about your approach to customer feedback than mine does about my character. I stand by my original review and am even more disappointed now—both by the brunch and by how criticism is handled here. Wishing you the best moving forward.
We went to this restaurant for brunch, and right from the start the experience felt uncomfortable. A woman came over to explain the menu, but it was very confusing. We asked several questions to make sure we understood, thinking maybe we were missing something. What surprised us was being told that because we were a group of five, we had to order a fixed option: three eggs with multiple sides for $35 per person. We asked what would happen if someone didn’t want that much food, and she said there was no other choice, even though the menu clearly had another option for $24 per person (eggs with two optional sides). She insisted that option was not available to us only because of our group size, which made no sense and felt very strange. When we questioned this, she became rude and dismissive. She even said, “It’s only a $10 difference,” as if that justified forcing people into an order they didn’t want. At one point, she repeatedly asked us, “Do you understand English?”, which was extremely offensive. To be clear, language was not the issue at all. She herself was not a native English speaker and even spoke Turkish with me, so there was no misunderstanding. The real problem was the restaurant’s confusing and illogical policy and the way it was communicated. Instead of being welcoming or helpful, she was condescending and unprofessional. We eventually decided to leave and go elsewhere, not because of the price, but because of the confusion and the way we were treated. We later dined at another restaurant and actually spent more than $35 per person, but there we were treated with respect and allowed to choose freely. This was honestly my first time in the U.S. having such an unpleasant and uncomfortable experience at a restaurant.
We went to this place with four people based on a friend’s recommendation and got the fixed brunch menu for $35 per person (total $140). Unfortunately, the portions were quite small for the price. For example, we only got 4 slices of pepperoni and 4 pieces of fried eggplant. The taste was okay, but the overall value didn’t meet our expectations. A server kept refilling our tea, which seemed nice at first, but we had no idea the tea was charged separately—this wasn’t communicated to us, and we only found out when we got the check. At the end of the meal, we wanted to take some of the items to go, but the jams and honey were served in containers that weren’t suitable for packaging. We gave them back to the server, who didn’t even ask why—just took them without a word. Overall, this place might make more sense for two people, but for groups of three or more, all you really get extra is a bit more jam and honey. In terms of price and portion size, it just didn’t feel worth it to us.
They forced 4 people to pay large party tip of 20%. When I asked them to changed it, the lady said it was not her fault and she could do nothing about it and her manager was not there. Strong chemical scent in the space. Reservation at 12pm, but table was not ready at 12:15. Food was average, coffee was bad, bread was hard, and they charged $70 for one portion breakfast to be shared by two. Each person got to eat one egg with no choice of how well the egg was cooked, so everyone was made to eat a raw egg. Then when I said it was illegal to charge mandatory tips, she immediately went to the counter and changed it.
