Rusty environment with a great seaside atmosphere. Lobster is fresh with there two large holding tanks. Menu offers different ways of serving Lobster and other options like BBQ burgers.

A seafood gem in Red Hook. The roasted brussel sprouts are just scrumptious, the pickle dip for the calamari was mouth-watering, & the Connecticut lobster roll was better than the reviews said. Definitely highly recommended.

The best lobster roll I've ever had. Generous portions made with super fresh ingredients. Their Bloody Mary and Bloody Maria (with smoky mezcal) are the perfect pairing with seafood. Our server was super helpful and had great suggestions. If you go on Saturday, go before 1pm to avoid the line. It's a nice walk away from the ferry so no need to Uber or drive.

New England Sea Food Boil with ... a Lobster topping! Super service, excellent food, NICE owner - take the Ferry, visit Red Hook AND go to the Lobster Pound!

This is the most delicious lobster roll I’ve ever had! Juicy and tender with lots of meat and a generous helping of slaw. Lobster rolls are always pricey anywhere one goes… redhook lobster pound is worth every dollar! I was stuffed and fulfilled. The service was fast, efficient and nice. Looking foreword to another visit this summer. Thank you for being a part of a rather unique and storied section of bk.

Delicious brunch, I loved it here. I took the NYC water ferry over from Wall St, Pier 11. So simple and quick and well worth the journey. The food was delicious and the server was very helpful with her recommendations and ensuring we were happy. Tables were cleared efficiently and quickly by the busboys. There were plenty of large screens on to watch the sports on. The atmosphere was great and I had a really enjoyable meal there. Fried Calamari was delicious and Lobster Mac n Cheese was amazing! I can’t wait to return. It makes me feel hungry just thinking about the place!

The service at red hook lobster 🦞 was an enjoyable one. The spot is clean with an indoor and outdoor dining experience. The bar service was attentive and helpful throughout the experience. The food was delicious and the wait time was not long.

Don’t over complicate things. Come here & get a lobster roll. I am partial to the Connecticut style with butter, sans mayo. The fries are crispy & if it’s summer, get a froze or some other frozen drink. The rolls are getting quite expensive now, at well over $30 a piece but it doesn’t change how delicious they are. I’m sure the rest of the menu is tasty as well but it’s called red hook LOBSTER for a reason, get the lobster, you won’t be disappointed.

This place is how I get my husband to go to IKEA and not complain. The full menu is tasty but my favorite dish is surprisingly the brussel sprouts. For brunch def order the bloody Mary (if you into that type of drink), and you can't skip their lobster rolls. Yes, expensive but it's the best one I had in NY.

Visiting from Dallas and pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and attentive service. Overall fantastic dining experience! Owner is a great guy with a great sense of humor. Look Ralph up if you visit.

I came here on a Monday around 4pm in search of crab legs. There was no wait. Our waiter was professional, kind, and courteous. I started with the clam chowder. It came out a few minutes after I ordered. It was rich and delicious. My bestfriend and I shared the boil. It was $85, massive delicous and worth every penny. We ate until we were full and still had plenty for left overs.

Delicious 4th of July weekend meal with some great options and excellent service. They’re so kind and patient here and I can’t wait to come again. We ordered two Connecticut rolls and a classic role along with peel and eat shrimp and calamari. Definitely double check prices here before coming because things can really add up. Otherwise, it’s a great way to celebrate a nice day with friends

Really nice spot in the heart of Red Hook. The lobster roll was fresh, and the chowder was just right. A bit pricey for what it offers, but still a very enjoyable experience.

This is home to the best lobster roll in the city, or at least the most generously portioned lobster roll. The price of the roll could also reasonably higher given how much lobster meat they pile onto their rolls. While most other places barely fill the roll with meat (and the meat is usually chopped too small), Red Hook Lobster Pound piles their rolls high with big chunks of delectable lobster meat. I usually get the Maine lobster roll with fries and a beer, and their cocktails are surprisingly good, too. Their hot crab dip and their chilled lobster tail are also delicious. Their outdoor shed is a lovely place to take in the nice weather while you enjoy your food. The service is always great, and Rob in particular is excellent and is very friendly and helpful.

I got invited to lobster week and found this hidden gem. The staff is nice, friendly and eager to give you a memorable experience. The outdoor seating looks great and built solid. I haven't been inside to take pics but I am going back soon. I got a date with one of those lobster roll. Use public transportation or take a cab. Parking Sucks!

Enjoying the Ride !

Great atmosphere (especially outside, on a cool evening), great staff (attentive, but not crowding, and they all help each other), and amazing food! This is a don't miss eating and conversation experience! Take a date, take a friend, or simply adventure on your own... You won't be disappointed. Chowders are classic, lobster is fresh (especially the warm roll), and the are oysters tasty (especially during happy hour!!) Fries... Not sure what they're doing to these... But they are better then Pringles! Don't forget to save from for sweets at the end, simple and delicious. We had a great time!!

Maine Lobster Roll is the name of the game at RHLP. Firm, fresh and perfectly chilled. Must get the 6oz because why not. Beautiful menu overall complimented with a variety of cocktails and wines.

“THE BEST CLAMS-OYSTERS-LOBSTER EVER!!!” I have never eaten clams or oysters in my life. And I saw them on the menu at an incredible price, so I saw this as my moment to give them I shot. I ordered 6 of them and WOW 10/10. And I was hooked, then I ordered a lobster Mac and Cheese. And they actually made the mistake of sending me a normal Mac & Cheese but the quickly fixed it and put it on the house for me, very appreciated. On average you will spend $50-$60 per person. But it is soooo worth it, the max and lobster cheese was SOOO SMOOTH AND BUTTERY, I would definitely come back and I recommend you too. If you can, ask for Lukas, he was my server and honesty is the best around, so attentive and fast. Honestly I would come back as soon as possible. 10/10

Some of the best fish and chips I’ve had. Lightly battered in the best way and the fish was perky and perfectly seasoned. Tarter sauce had the perfect tang. The fries were also delicious. Also the ice is the nice little crunchy cube kind. $21 for an order of fish and chips, for the quality and quantity I think it is fairly priced.

The food was absolutely perfect! Great temperature, presentation and flavor. The lobster was full and meaty! Very sweet tasting! Worth every penny. My husband had the lobster roll. He ate it before we could get a photo. HAHA He had the oysters as an appetizer and said they were fresh and salty. They taste like they came straight from the ocean. The staff was very attentive and the service was top notch! If you go make sure you say hi to Alex! The cost of the meal was very comparable to other restaurants in the area. Love love love the atmosphere. The place was super clean. All tables were wiped off and ready for the next guests. Very laid back with great music. Not too loud.

The best part was the lobster itself. It actually had a lot of meat on it, was on point and the price was reasonable. The fried shrimp was not fresh, the clam chowder was blend corn and potatos the same. I didnt get to try the lobster rolls but they looked good. the back was closed so the place only had 1 waitress working, we were kinda tight, however it was okay is not high end but i guess if you want a good lobster i'd recomend it for that (:

We did a special date night this past Saturday and made it a little trip from Uptown Manhattan by taking the ferry from Pier 11, turned out to be fun! Not to mention it's always a nice excuse to enjoy our world famous skyline. I've bookmarked this place for awhile now and was excited to finally try it. Couldn't get reservations via Resy anymore so tried the walk-in route and was given a great table by the patio. First sign that things are gonna be good when you see a really diverse staff welcoming you nicely. Covid-19 procedures in place are taking your temperatures before being seated and excellent social distancing among tables. As for the food, my goodness, we wanted to try it all! We do IF so this was our only meal for the day and we decided to indulge. We got a bottle of Prosecco, which was perfectly chilled and was also put in a wine bottle chiller, really appreciated that. We ordered the Hot Crab Dip with potato chips, this was really good! The Calamari was also good with a mayo dip and another spicy chili dip, just wish it had more crisp in it. The Connecticut Lobster Rolls were amazing and was truly what we were craving for. Delicious, perfectly seasoned, and more importantly, generous with lobster meat, which we felt was a good value at $26 each. The fries that came with it were also perfect! We also ordered a lobster dinner to share which was at $31 each. This was expectedly good for a lobster, but honestly thought we found better value getting the lobster roll. Overall, we loved almost everything, the staff and service was also great! Will be happy to go back anytime soon. My husband and I were laughing that we actually ended up spending more here than at Peter Luger, but hey, as long as we get incredible value for what we pay for, right? Highly recommend! So glad we have this place for when that New England feel and craving strikes! Thanks, guys!

So good! Came here on a hot day and was easily seated after the lunch rush. The food came out quickly and the drinks were a nice pair for some lobster rolls. They are on the pricey side but worth it if you’re looking for some good food. They have quite a few options so you’ll be sure to find something that fits your appetite!

Everything I ate tasted very good. This is my first time eating at RHLP & I’ll be back to try the other rolls. The fried pickles were also good. My hibiscus margarita tasted really good too.

Want the Maine lobster shack experience but don't have the time to actually drive to Maine? Red Hook is your "Maine" connection! Okay, enough cheesy jokes (although their lobster cheese fries are loaded with cheese). This place is serious about their lobsters and lobster rolls. During our first visit, we had the "Maine Event". We discovered that we don't really like lobster rolls (cold sandwiches aren't really our thing), and we would rather peel our own lobsters. Ever since then, we've stuck to the seafood boil with lobster. The lobsters here are so fresh that the meat pops right out of the shell. If you absolutely don't want to peel your own seafood, the lobster rolls are good, and are all stuff to the brim with lobsters. Actually, most of the dishes are stuffed full of seafood. We find the other seafood (shrimp, clams, mussels, and oysters) are okay, but lobster is really the "Maine" character at this restaurant. P.S. If you don't want seafood, the Hook Burger is also quite good.

Great food, good drinks, nice atmosphere. Lobster rolls with bacon! Yes please!🦞🥓 The mac n cheese was out of this world. Key lime pie also very impressive. We also got the Downeaster appetizers oysters, clams, shrimp, crab, lobster. The staff were on point, didn’t bother us to much, but always showed up right when needed. Outside seating is great! Bathrooms were nice and clean.

It's nice to finally make it to the original location. I've had the pleasure of having their Lobster Mac & Cheese at the Winter Smorgasbord near the Barclay Center before the COVID19 pandemic started. The Lobster Grilled Cheese Sandwich came with a side of sweet potato fries, dijon mustard dip, and a pickle. It made for a good lunch. It can be expensive ordering from here but the flavors are great.

Never had anything less than a stellar meal here. It's a great place for a date or even just to bring friends (whether from out of town or not). We recommend: - Literally all of the lobster roll options (maine, connecticut, fried — the others) - Lobster bisque - Mussels - Hot crab dip - The Lobster Dinner The service is good and there's usually not a crazy wait. Always love going back.

Our first time to try this spot out, before the summer and friends come to town and this will definitely be a spot we come out for! The lobster rolls were legit, I had a salad to feel less guilty but the fries were good, calamari and garlic biscuits appetizer and dessert!! We tried Steve's key lime pie and the Nutella gelato! It was all delicious and the staff were attentive and gave real recommendations! We'll be back... although I'm sure it will be packed in the summer. At least you know the food will be worth the wait.

This is the place to have lobster. Extremely fresh and tasty lobsters cooked to perfection. Started out with a dozen of Little Neck Clams on the half shell and cocktail shrimp, followed with several Lobster rolls. We would have ordered more if we could have. Everything was delicious. Nice drink and beer list. Good and fast service. Very recommended.

Been here a few times. Most recently for lunch where we got a bowl of New England Clam Chowder, fried pickles, steamers, and split a lobster rolls and fries. Chowder came immediately and was chock full of clams and potatoes and was velvety smooth. Fried pickles and the lobster roll were great, the fries were especially good. The steamers were kind of gritty and sad, which was disappointing. They came with butter to dip in but no water to clean so we were a little confused on the preparation. Someone also had a small lapdog in the restaurant while we were there, which I wouldn’t have minded, except they were yapping a lot but they finally l left. All in all, I like this place and continue returning for the lobster rolls, of which they prepare a few ways.

After a two hour ferry ride, I was hungry and in need of fuel before exploring the rest of the neighborhood. It is a quick walk from the ferry and cruise terminal. The place was not very crowded given that it was a December weekend, but the restaurant had a welcoming ambiance with a homey Christmas tree. The service was attentive but not overbearing. I ordered the Connecticut. The lobster was fresh and well cooked while the roll was light but filling. The hibiscus lemonade was refreshing too.

Lobster Pound! So fresh! So many lobsters! I was here on a day checking out the Brooklyn Cruiser Terminal (for my future trip) and explore the neighborhood of Red Hook. Their lobster roll has such a clean taste; the salads are just as fresh. The bread is crispy just to the right extend. I finished these literally in seconds; it was so good. What is more -- the staff are super welcoming. The waiter even introduced me to their lobster pound and showed me many interesting things, like a lobster always has a pincer and a crusher, and how to hyptonize a lobster🤣!!

We were here to celebrate our anniversary. This was maybe the 4th time to been here. I love seafood and the ingredients are always fresh fresh. We had a bowl of chowder, and shrimp cocktails to start. 10/10 I got a 6oz Connecticut lobster roll with salad, the lobster meat was so good, the bread was in its perfect soft condition. I love it! 10/10 My bf got fish tacos with fries. Tasted very good, but a little bit salty, overall 8.5/10 The last dish was lobster mac & cheese, I would rather order another lobster roll. The mac & cheese be honest not good, watery, and has no flavor, very disappointed. 5/10 5 for the lobster meat on top. Friendly staff, clean restaurant.

I LOVE their Connecticut Lobster Roll! 🦞 It’s so warm and buttery and tasty! DELICIOUS!!! 🤤🤩 Their sweet potatoes fries are perfect for me, crispy on outside and soft inside. Not crazy about super small portion and price increase but I get it, somewhat lol. For this I paid $40 plus tax/tip.

woooow, the Connecticut lobster roll was SO good and buttery. It is served with buttered brioche bun with a crunch. We got the large potion of lobster and it was so worth it! We also ordered the clam chowder and lobster bisque. Definitely order their clam chowder (solid 8/10) if you like clam chowder. The lobster bisque was decent (like a 7/10) not tomatoey like a lot of places. The place is spacious too. Nut allergy friendly!

A slice of Maine! This is our favorite spot in the city to get lobster hands down. It’s also where we go to celebrate anything. My mother and I came here recently craving some good seafood, and we were absolutely blown away by what we found. The seafood was incredibly fresh, bursting with flavor, and perfectly seasoned. Every dish came in generous portions, and the shareable plates were ideal for two. I ordered the New England Seafood Boil and devoured every bite — it was that good. The staff treated us so warmly, and the atmosphere was giving total summer vibes, especially with a cocktail in hand. Truly a 10/10 experience — I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu! For more delicious finds like this, make sure to follow @blaze_eatsnyc for the best eats around NYC!

Walked in on a Friday afternoon and got seated quickly. Service was great- staff was kind and attentive. I dropped a knife and a male server came with a new utensil set right away which I appreciated. We got started with the Lobster Claw Bloody Mary and that was yummy. I'm usually particular with my Bloody Marys but this one was good, and it came with a pickle and a lobster claw! For our meal, we got the two Lobster Rolls special with a starter and dessert for $125. We got the Maine and California Lobster roll, Mussels & Ciabatta to start, and a Key Lime Pie for dessert + we added the Garlic Biscuits too. The mussels and biscuits were AMAZING. The mussels were so fresh with an amazing fennel & garlic sauce. The biscuits were so hot and soft and moist! We devoured them so quickly, it needed no sauce. The lobster rolls were a tad bit disappointing for a place called Lobster Pound. It was good but nothing outstanding especially for the price ($40-50 is crazy). Our appetizers stood out so much to us and I'm sure the other food would be delicious as well, but the lobster rolls did not live up to my expectations. The dessert was good. They source it from a nearby shop that specializes in key lime pies and it was very soft and not too sweet which I enjoyed. I would for sure come back to try the rest of the menu!

This being my first introduction to lobster, we couldn’t have made a better choice than dining at Red Hook Lobster Pound—sincerely, an unforgettable feast for the senses! We started with calamari, which arrived quickly, and we even had to ask for seconds on the sauces. But the real reason we walked two hours—the meal that made it all worthwhile—was the fried lobster roll and the Connecticut roll. Every bite was irresistible, and I dreaded reaching the last. A truly incredible and memorable dining experience, made even better by the warm, engaging staff and the restaurant’s charming lobster-themed decor. Plus, they had an impressive selection of draft beers for those who enjoy a good brew. A MUST TRY! Grateful for Yes Chef ! & his motivating review.

I’ve been to Red Hook Lobster Pound twice now, and both visits were consistently excellent. The seafood was incredibly fresh, the dishes were flavorful, and the happy hour was genuinely worth it. The lobster was clearly fresh, well prepared, and fairly priced—which is always appreciated. The happy hour oysters and drinks were a highlight and made the experience even better without feeling gimmicky. Everything tasted high quality and thoughtfully done. A big shout-out to Aissa, Mason, and Luke, who were fantastic hosts and servers. Their recommendations were spot-on, and their service went above and beyond without being overbearing. They really made the experience enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend Red Hook Lobster Pound to any seafood lover looking for great food, a fun happy hour, and excellent service. Definitely a place I’ll be returning to!

When I go to a Lobster shack I want freshness & quality. I accept its going to be expensive as long as it meets that criteria. Red Hook Lobster Pound does exactly that. It serves up fresh, juicy and flavoursome Lobster. Have it in sandwich form or Mac N Cheese form, it doesn’t matter. Some of the side dishes and other options are a little uninspiring so don’t steer away from the lobster. Solid spot if you’re after lobster, but if you’re looking for just a great restaurant then perhaps it’s not the place for you.

It was great. The only thing I left Father's Day card on the table came back and they discarded it already and they couldn't find it. But everything else was great.

Lobster roll was EXCELLENT. PLENTY of succulent lobster claw and tail. Lobster Mac was pretty good as well. The OYSTERS were way too small but tastey. Over all the food was very GOOD but WAY WAY TOO PRICEY!!!! The TEQUILA WAS VERY GOOD THOUGH! AND THE waitress Crystal was very very pretty and and extremely HOT HOT HOT. and friendly as well

I often grab lunch here independently or with my husband, mom even a group of friends. For me its a no frills staple for a lobster roll and I am never disappointed. If you’re not into lobster there are other options available as well.

Service was outstanding. Oysters🦪 were fresh, some of the best I've had in the world. Lobster tail 🦞 was dry and difficult to eat. The sauce was tasty but the meat was mediocre. Draft selection was great. Will be back for the friendly service.

One of favorite places. My only complaint is the price. But the food and service were amazing. The waiters were super attentive and patience with us. Idk what kind of oil vinegar combo was on the green salad but it was really good

Delicious experience. Happy hour frozen margaritas is a to do . Lobster mac and cheese, Lobster fries, clam chowder and seafood boil were amazing. Ordered the crab dip. Wasn't a fan fave of the table.

Being from a Caribbean country I’ve tried several ways of cooking and eating a Lobster but never had it on a bread (roll)🤪. So for this case I was very excited and oooh boy I wasn’t disappointed. I got: 1. As appetizers: Oysters and fried calamari. Both were very good. 2. Fried lobster roll with fries: This “roll” was very good. I enjoyed the caramel and the kewpie mayo. Service was good. For my taste the lobster roll its a bit overpriced($$$). Nevertheless its a good place with good lobster & sea food.

If you like seafood this is your place. You can take a boat from Wall Street to get here and enjoy the beautiful Manhattan skyline. Amazing options and they let you select your own lobster. Some of the best lobster rolls in New York and the service is excellent.

Overall, it’s very good. The food is fresh and tasty and the staff is friendly. My only knock is some of the items are a little pricier than they should be like the chicken sandwich at $23. The lobster roll at $32 is still a drop pricey but I get it and still order it. The other slight knock is that they often seem to rush you (or maybe they just have too many staff checking in on you.)

O
OH yeah

Yeah, I know.. this isn’t Maine. But you won’t regret have a lobster roll here. Warm and buttery with lemon, or chilled with Mayo and scallions.. honestly they’re both incredibly tasty. Fast service and decent drink selection. It’s a bit pricey.. but that’s sort of what you expect when you eat lobster. Afterward, grab some cheaper beers at Brooklyn Ice House one block down the street or walk to the water and enjoy the beautiful view.

The boil arrived luke warm and there wasn't a lot of flavor. The lobster roll was also a bit dry. The appetizers were good. We got the lobster mac and cheese which was pretty decent but didn't have a lot of lobster. I especially liked the crab dip that came with chips. I also really enjoyed my blood orange margarita. The atmosphere is really nice for a casual dinner with friends.

Yummy seafood in Brooklyn! The fried shrimp and calamari were perfect! Peel and eat shrimp was alright, kind of cold but the sauce they have on the side is tomato based, not your traditional cocktail sauce. The biscuits are decent but very salty! Crab legs were good. Connecticut roll was delicious but could use more better. Fries were great! Cole slaw had a weird taste. Service was great. Definitely worth checking out.

UPDATE- so it’s now July and I finally got a chance to visit the restaurant as opposed to ordering on Uber Eats. Everything was lovely. It’s a small place but they totally make it work. Everything was calm; food was DELISH; all the workers were polite. It’s a cute little spot for 2 or a small group. The food is good and plentiful. I ordered via grub hub & the wait was LONG but worth it. I will dine in one day. We ordered Lobster Roll & Fried Calamari. Both were tasty & fresh.

Running some errands in Brooklyn decided to stop by for lunch. As the name suggests lots of lobster options, from Maine, etc. I personally don't eat seafood but went along because of the SO. She got the lobster sandwich which she was very good. Although she felt the difference between Maine and other lobsters (in CA) weren't that much (not an issue with this place of course). I got a Caesar salad and Mac-n-cheese. We also got biscuits for the table. The biscuits were awesome, although quite heavy on the butter - but you don't go to this place if you are watching calories :) My salad and Mac-n-cheese was just average. My SO loved her sandwich and she'd go back there anyway.

The fried shrimp and harvest salad was very good. Our waiter was polite. What brought down the experience was 1 particular employee. We went out on a Wednesday night when it is empty. My 3 year old threw the children coloring menu on the floor. Before I could even say anything in a very nasty tone she lashed out causing my child to whipper. She didn’t serve us she was seated on her laptop in the corner most of the time.

The restaurant is gorgeous, cozy, and rustic, the service courteous and polite and the pricey very moderate. I really enjoyed my lunch, the lobster roll was particularly good, warm and delicate, poached to perfection and the butter was not overpowering. The fish and chips was also very tasty, the fish must have been marinated for long because it was super flavorful. I tried one of their chowders too, which was real nice and the Brussels Sprouts were crunchy, lemony, and seasoned to perfection. I wasn't a fan of the crab dip, but overall, amazing restaurant in one of the most charming and underrated areas of Brooklyn.

Came here recently with friends. We had a reservation, but they’ll seat you regardless, depending on how busy they are (we arrived around 12pm, so it was just getting busy). Service was good and attentive, the food was okay for me. The lobster bisque had a weird taste to it (it tasted a bit like eggs), and I’ve had better lobster rolls at other places in Manhattan and in Boston. But the vibes and service was good, and I’m willing to try it again to see how other things are on the menu.

Red Hook Lobster Pound has some real highlights and a few misses, but I’d definitely go back. The lobster roll was a win—meaty, flavorful, and perfectly toasted. One of the better ones I’ve had in NYC. The drink I had alongside it was super refreshing and really hit the spot. I also tried the crab dip, which I was excited for, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. It was seasoned well and tasted good with the chips, but the actual crab flavor was barely there. It felt like it was drowned in the creamy mix, and the crab just disappeared in it. The seafood boil with crab legs and corn looked great but unfortunately had no seasoning—completely bland, with zero flavor. Wouldn’t order that again. Still, the vibe was good, and the lobster roll alone makes it worth a visit. I’d go back and try more of the menu—just steering clear of the boil next time.

Was looking for lobster roll in Brooklyn after key lime pie. The lobster could have been sweeter, and with more melted butter. The seafood boil was fine, good mix of items

Delicious! So, if you know me, I’m not a huge lobster roll kind of guy. However, my friends are. So we ended up checking this spot out and golly, it was amazing! My friends thoroughly enjoyed the lobster roll! They have an option call “main event” which we highly recommend. Best bang for your buck. The staff was very attentive and receptive to our need and the ambience gave you inside a boat vibe!

We enjoyed restaurant week here and while the food was good, it certainly wasn’t the best lobster rolls we’ve had and it didn’t taste super fresh. I guess we expected more from a place that was dedicated to lobster. The service was great though - I ordered the frosé and it was terribly sweet and undrinkable. Our server saw that I had barely touched it and offered me another drink to replace it with no additional charge. The mojito was way better. It’s just okay but not sure if it’s worth the trek if you live far from it.

This place was highly recommended but I wasn't a fan. The tables are small, thankfully we were able to be moved to a 4 top even though it was only 2 of us (service was amazing) the food was nothing to spectacular. We had calamari that was way way to salty, crab dip that was lacking something maybe a dash of Old Bay or something didn't hit like I thought it would, the clams were good. The Maine event, the lobster rolls- Connecticut roll was over cooked and missing the rich butter flavor and the fried lobster was so sweet it tasted more like dessert but they were a good amount of lobster. The drinks were great 👍🏼

I came to see what all the hype was about, but left wondering what I missed. The Connecticut lobster roll, which cost over $50, didn’t deliver the buttery punch I expected. If I’m paying that kind of price, I want flavor that grabs me; not something forgettable. The oysters were okay, but I’ve had better. Calamari was heavy on the batter and lacked the crispiness I like. Tacos? Meh—just so-so. And the lobster bisque came out lukewarm, which really dulled the richness it should’ve had. Service didn’t help either. It wasn’t busy, yet I had to wave down our server multiple times just to get basic attention. That kind of inattentiveness really takes away from the experience. Honestly, I’d rather track down a Cousins Maine Lobster truck and call it a day. Better flavor and no need to play hide-and-seek with the staff.

This place was ok, but expensive! We were visiting from Tx and doing some site seeing. We took a ferry to Redhook to try this restaurant. The ferry ride was pretty cheap and we did get to see the Statue of Liberty, Governor’s Island along the way. Once we arrived we had to walk to get to any restaurant/bar… they were no where near the dock. Also, we did make a reservation beforehand, but didn’t have any issues checking in early and getting seated. The staff were friendly and the outdoor seating was ok, so we thought, but after sitting there for dinner and hearing the cars honking and speeding by (outdoor seating is literally on the street) we were rethinking our choice. As far as the food goes… it was wasn’t worth the time/money (almost $300 for 4 people) we spent. If you’re on a budget, this place is not for you. Also, a lot of the shops were closed early, so there wasn’t much to do except drink alcohol or eat. Not what we were expecting! Our fault for not researching more before heading over to Redhook.

So I went here years ago - amazing! Nowadays, the bartender is friendly but the crab and lobster over cooked. Yes I said it. I bet you they have good days, great days even, but this day - couldn’t have paid me to forget about the 14 salad for takeout that was three leaves and no sass. Basic tourist food by the water.

The service was basic, the waitress not very much interested in providing more than basic service. We were during happy hour, the drinks had no alcohol and once I asked that nex drink will be improved they charged extras, no issues, if the drink if the drink was improved, but it was not. The oysters very small The soup was basic. The lobster roll was good with lots of lobster meat. The place is rated much higher than it should be

Nothing wrong with the food and the service was good but in the past 5 years the prices went through the roof. There is no world a lobster roll should cost $40. Unfortunately this has become a cruise tourist trap. That'll be my last time visiting.

Don’t waste your money, possibly good for happy hour only though. Food: We got the Crispy Brussels (which was more soggy, just a few loose leaves were crispy). It seemed like it sat out for a bit before being brought to the table. Buttered lobster roll with sweet potato fries. The only buttered part was the bread, essentially it was just boiled lobster claw with a bit of scallions on top (no seasoning). The server didn’t asked us what portion size we would like our lobster. Regardless, portion was okay for the price. The sweet potato fries were soggy, not crispy at all considering a +$2 add on fee. The Hook Burger with regular fries. It wasn’t a smash burger, but the server didn’t ask us how we would like our burger cooked so we got well done (didn’t finish). Fries were crispier. 2 sodas, sprite and Diet Coke(flat). Service: we felt discriminated, the server gave other guests that came after us more attention as in asking them if they wanted still, sparkling or tap while we were not asked. Same with the portion sizes or how they like a food item cooked. Paper check was dropped for them before a POS system. We were just told to check POS system to pay. $98 for 5 items not including tip which we gave 15%.

After seeing this place on Instagram I decided to give it a try. Sat outside ordered two lobster rolls one with fries the other with a Ceasar salad and calamari. Lobster rolls were good but I didn’t like the calamari. Asked for the bill and immediately noticed I was over charged. Didn’t make a big deal payed and just left. Like a fool I decided to give it another try and the same idiot that over charged me made drink that taste like chemicals and the lobster in the macaroni and cheese taste spoiled. Not sure why people thinks it’s ok to taint food like everything is ok ….. I would never recommend this place.

Took my cousin here for her Bday dinner as her choice. Well it def was a waste of money. Drinks were decent. The food just garbage/trash!! Lobster Bisque no lobster at all!! Mussels were decent. Crab cakes were fishy hard dry and were binded with something green. The slaw apple salad with the crab cakes was disgusting! I did not eat it and the server removed it from my bill. The fried lobster roll was equally gross. My poor cousin was peeling off the batter which resembled the batter on sweet n sour chicken from the hood Chinese take out. Throw the whole Menu and Chef away and start OVER!!! The prices definitely do not warrant the garbage food! Red Hook Lobster Pound should be ashamed to serve the dishes they served. Just Terrible!!!! Zero stars if I could!!!! Don’t waste your time or money!!!

Do not go here!!! GF got food poisoning after eating there 1/4/26. Crab dip was mid at best. My fries were cold. Her boil was poisoned…..they did give me a $9 drink discount because of my frozen fries. The fish was actually good but ya my GF can’t work today because of what she ate. With tip it was $101 not worth it for my GF to get sick. Maybe clean up the restaurant with my money

This review is for the Red Hook Lobster Pound that was in the Winter Festival in Bryant Park. As a representation of the restaurant, I believe the Lobster Cone was below subpar. Paid $30 each for this, and I’ve had better in California for cheaper and as a bigger portion. When going to Bryant Park, I’d recommend straying from this item on their menu, as it’s not worth the price. But, even if I was to go back, I wouldn’t want to even try another item on their menu. So if you see the line wrapping around, don’t even bother. One worker had to reform the line, creating disorganization and then said, “don’t worry, it’s worth the wait.” That statement was false, it wasn’t worth the wait. I should’ve followed a couple who had gotten off the line due to how long it was. I would’ve saved myself from disappointment. I’m glad I didn’t double up, as the worker stated you can add more, just don’t. The lobster was very bland, and wasn’t buttery at all, as emphasized, and the cone was tough to eat, instead of a softer texture, ended up tossing both cones after eating the bland lobster. If this stand is an extension and like I said before a representation of your restaurant, this stand needs to be better, the portion size needs to be better and the organization of the stand as well.
