Sweet Science Brooklyn Reviews
Came here for dinner on Valentine’s Day and we had an amazing time. Service was great and the food was tasty. I loved the R&b music playing and the fact that it wasn’t blasting. Would def return and recommend to anyone looking for a cozy spot to eat and vibe.
This restaurant is highly recommended. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was cozy. I ordered the grilled catfish sandwich and it was finger licking good! My Hunny ordered the salmon and he raved about how well prepared it was.
Awsome place, wings are the best wings I've had out at a place around here I believe ever i Honestly. They have great flavor and texture with that slight crunch. Most places have alot of sauce bit the wings are soggy without crunch even if you get a dry rub. There's are good no Matter if dry or saucey. Service is one of the best items experienced. Extremely friendly and on point bartenders. Even when busy like on Halloween. Alot of places you gotta basically jump over the bar to get attention and Service and still end up waiting half an hour for a beer but here it's been extremely efficient even the few times I was there during busy times. Atmosphere is very comfortable, love the large windows on the corner location. It feels like outside enough when weather is nice yet enclosed enough for if not as nice. So.e atleast of the large windows open up and are actually doors too atleast one is usually open. Rap/ hip-hop artist paintings around but they play other things as well for music. I'm usually there early in the night most often and in my experience it's often reggae artist music often but I've heard alot of different things there. We always enjoy our time there and meet very nice and interesting people.
Our department had a fantastic dinner party, thanks to Sweet Science. Nicole arranged a wonderful setup and package for us, all at a competitive price. When we arrived, we had our own section, perfect for mingling without disturbing other diners. The food? Simply amazing. The portion sizes were more than generous, and every dish came out fresh and hot. We had plenty of options: Fried Chicken Fried Rice (my favorite), Mac & Cheese, Cajun Fries, and Carolina Wings—each one was delicious. There was also a DJ playing great dance tracks and sing-alongs, keeping everyone energized throughout the night. Everything went exceptionally well, and we're grateful for the memorable experience Sweet Science provided. Thanks, Nicole!
This place has always been amazing 👏🏾 from the food to the service. The bartender Ashley was such a pleasure to be around. The food and drinks were also amazing. On Saturday their brunch ends at 4 and Sunday at 5 we got to the place at 420p and had to wait for the kitchen to re open. All worth the trip. I had the oxtail and dumplings and my wife had the lobster with shrimp biscuit. Amazing ! Always a good time!
I came to this restaurant on January 13th for my sorority's founders day event. The host and wait staff were so accommodating and exemplified great customer service. The environment was trendy with great music. So shout out to the DJ. Not to mention how damn good the drinks were. The margarita was everything. My food ( I had the crab cakes Benedict) was also very good. The arugula salad that accompanied the meal was so delicious. I was not disappointed at all. I live in NJ but I would definitely come back to this restaurant again. Thank you for an amazing customer experience.
The owner is very cool and down to earth. Nice staff/good food. I liked that they have several flavors for the mimosas. I had the shrimp and grits
THIS IS MY FAVORITE BRUNCH SPOT. Ok - all caps because I really really mean it. I haven’t had one thing I don’t like although I tend to stick with these the Shrimp and Grits or the Biscuits with Lobster. This isn’t a bottomless brunch but I always order a Carafe of Mimosa for myself. Please go here.
The people working here match the restaurant's character. This place impressed beyond belief. I would return - the setting was calm and service was top-notch. About customer attention, everyone has been exceptionally supportive. Give them a chance to demonstrate their skills.
Amazing food, great service, and the vibe is perfect for a fun brunch! Everyone that works there are very nice and they always make sure your glass is never empty. The DJs on the weekends have you wanting to start a dance party. I’d recommend this place if you want to brunch on your own or have a small to large group of friends. You for sure need to check them out!!!
What great food and great staff. They’ve definitely mastered the ability to be aware but not overbearing. The food was delish and fresh. The portion sizes are definitely there too, I was unable to eat my entire plate, under the three eggs was a mountain of meat and potatoes! There’s something for everyone on the menu- sweet, savory, fried, etc.
I had an amazing experience at Sweet Science, thanks to Ashley's exceptional customer service! From the moment I walked in, she was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. She truly understood the assignment and made my Besfran birthday celebration special. Her helpfulness and genuine care made the whole experience memorable. I can't thank Ashley enough for her thoughtful attention to detail—she really helped make my day unforgettable. Highly recommend Sweet Science for their outstanding service!
Chill lowkey spot with really good food, service and atmosphere. The roast chicken dinner is my favorite. It’s so juicy and tender. Paired with the mash potatoes it’s a great classic meal that is comforting after a long day. The servers are always great and knowledgeable. I also enjoyed my drink which was a simple pineapple with tequila.
This place was heaven in each bite. You talk about flavors that had me on the ropes! We started off with a drink that was more of an appetizer to me their large bloody mary, then to follow up with biscuits n gravy and then chicken and waffles?! Total knockout. Highly recommended for brunch and i look forward to trying the rest of the menu. You guys have a new fan! Aaaand it was the best birthday treat from my best friend. #win
I had a wonderful time at Sweet Science. I tried the brunch menu for my birthday gift to myself. It was the "Jerk chicken hash with creamy n cheezy grits with sunny side up eggs. WOW!! the taste was amazing!!. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST I EVER TASTED. The flavors just danced in my mouth and made me and my stomach dance with joy. I loved it. After I devoured my plate the chef/owner added an extra surprise and said it was on the house and "Happy Birthday!". It truly was the best birthday ever!!. God bless.
The food and beverage fare here is phenomenal. Had the shrimp and grits which was to die for. As a one time Texan, this is the best I've had since relocating out of the south and it's very reasonably priced. It's a fabulous Black owned restaurant, with great people, great feeling, and a great attitude. Indoor, outdoor, and bar seating available. Can't wait to visit it again.
Very cute spot to meet up with friends and have drinks and some good food. I'm in love with their frozen happy hour drinks, specifically the one with Rosé, strawberry, and something else (lol). Their lobster mac n cheese is very good and the wings are also good. It would be a great choice for after work. Lots of windows so you get a lot of natural light during the day.
Ask for Asif, excellent, honest, and friendly waiter. Must have the cornbread Waffles. I will definitely do the $40 drinks next time. Yay to the frozen drinks that are actually frozen n not just crushed ice. Hot honey chicken is a must-have. Conversations can be had as it's not too loud & very picturesque space. Made day-of reservations on Wed, New Year's Day for brunch, got here around 12pm, and was seated upon entry... No longer wait and walked away full and w the 'itis
No!!!!!! Why are these grits the best I’ve ever had!!! Oh my gosh ! This was a great experience!!! I love us! 100 percent!!! From the warm welcoming greeting to the server taking your order !!! I was very comfortable. These women here are very hospitable!!! The food is great! The ambiance is so Brooklyn!!! Yup I’ll be back!!
I am writing this without having even left the building yet because it’s just that good! As someone who is from the south but now living in New York, the food, vibes and hostipitality have been exactly what I have been missing being here ! And the staff is amazing ! I used to manage the number one brunch spot in Atlanta and would’ve killed for a staff like this !! And that lobster and shrimp biscuit is to die for ! 10/10
Really love the vibe, Ashley is amazing, she makes it feel like we are visiting family. The bartender (black hair, her name escaped me) the most delicious and consistent drinks I've had. And of course the food is ALWAYS GREAT!
What an absolutely and legitimately amazing experience! A space designed to be accessible, comfortable, and yet refined at the same time. Starting with the crab cake, I found it perfectly prepared, delectable, and delicious. I also loved all the cocktails we ordered, which were the perfect mix of strengthen and deliciously unique flavor. For entrees, the Sweet Science Burger and the Catfish Sandwich were both perfect in their preparation and taste. I'm saying this because I truly enjoyed them - yes, they were a bit pricey on the menu, but for me, they completely were warranted when it came to their quality and taste. So i have nothing at ALL to complain about. Not to mention the fact that service was extremely friendly and hospitable. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this place. Great food, service, and vibes. I definitely think it's worth it!
I was here for a brunch for my friend’s birthday and the food was very good. Like most restaurants they do prefer all the members of the parties to be present before ordering food, which is no problem for me. The atmosphere in the restaurant was giving retro because of the portraits of famous celebrities and the menu is a combination on southern and Caribbean. We got bottomless mimosas but if yall dont agree on a certain flavor yall can get your own flavor each in a champagne glass.
Celebrated my birthday here for brunch with my family. Had such a great time. Food was good vibes was good music was good and Ashley was the bomb. If you ever go I hope you get Ashley as your server. Her vibe was so cool. We will be back again.
Just and amazing place to go for brunch. The food is delicious, the bottomless brunch special options are unmatched. The staff are so attentive and caring .. you want to have a good birthday celebration.. bring your friends and come here . I will keep coming here to live and drink and be unbothered. This place is a true vibe. I recommend this to anyone for a friends brunch or a first date. Well done team. This is real Brooklyn energy!!
Really good crab cake Benedict. Crab cake could have used a tad more seasoning but overall delicious and the egg was perfectly poached. Might've been the best cheddar grits I've ever had, and I'm from the south. Guava mimosa was a little too sweet. It was my friend's bday and the cake they served was decadent and delicious with a cute birthday sparkler.
After passing by many times, I have finally had the opportunity to go to Sweet Science. The ambience was soo welcoming and enjoyable. The hostess was friendly and attentive to both myself and my cousin. The food was extremely delicious (jerk chicken quesadilla and fries with pineapple magarita). I would definitely return to this spot. P.S: make sure you try their hot sauce which is 🔥
Loved my dining experience at this brunch spot! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting, getting seated took a while but the server made up for it in quality of service and the music set the perfect vibe. The food was exceptional, each dish bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. It's definitely become my go-to spot for brunch outings. Five stars well earned for this spot.
Delicious experience, got the lobster and shrimp biscuits (SO amazing some of the best biscuits I’ve ever had!!!! So buttery and the lobster gravy is unbelievable) and the fish and chips (very flaky and buttery fish, almost melts in your mouth, and tartare sauce is delicious). Also got the spinach artichoke dip to start which was a hit. Overall, great experience and cute ambiance.
Enjoyed my time here. Wonderful service and great fresh food. I ordered the skirt steak sandwich (medium well) it came on a tasty roll maybe it was Chibatta bread. I had chimchurri on the side with fries. We also ordered Mango frozen Margaritas which are also wonderful. My Boo Friend ordered Spinach dip and Calamari which was tasty as well.
The food here is so very good, the atmosphere is very young, so if you're older and you're not into the younger generation's music, this place is not for you. But the food and the service is absolutely great. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for something different.

Slamming service, awesome food and atmosphere! One of my favorite places in NYC. Couldn't recommend more
Love it here! The lobster and biscuits, chicken biscuit and mac and cheese are always (and I mean always) GOOD! The atmosphere is a laid back vibe. The service is quick and the bar service is alway…
Chicken and Waffles and the Short Rib Hash. Short Rib Hash was well seasoned and didn't need any extras. My friend wasn't too impressed with the chicken and waffles. Pass and get something else. The mimosas were good and strong enough. Live music can be a hit or miss but DEFINITELY worth the trip.
Everything was great but it was wayyy to hit when I went like sweating hot. So made eating a little uncomfy but the chicken biscuit sandwich was sooooo good. And the Henny colada was great to. The bartender was nice. No complaints on food or service just it being really hot inside
Walked in for brunch on a Saturday and this place was such a vibe! Great music (hip hop, r&b, reggae, pop, dance - all of the above!) Food was good - I got a bacon cheeseburger and fries. Bottomless option includes house drinks as well which was a plus. Service was good but it was a bit busy so it took some time to get the waiters attention but they were more than pleasant and accommodating! I plan on returning!
Credit where it’s due. The food was great! The eggs Benedict and brunch Mac & Cheese were incredible. The service was quite slow and pretty indifferent. We went on a Sunday around 1:00 pm and there was a DJ playing R&B at nightclub volumes. Not that I disliked the music (it was quite good) it just felt out of place for 1:00 pm on a Sunday afternoon in a regular restaurant. Overall 4/5, would love to come again at a time where there was no DJ
Did bottomless brunch. The food was great. The staff was generous but at times, it was difficult to get their attention on refills. The drinks were good. If you do the basic tier, they basically give you some generic champagne and cocktail/fruit concentrate to mix yourselves. I think that's a good idea.
Baby we had a tiiiimeeeee!! They were able to put together a table for 7 right away on a Saturday afternoon. We had the brunch guava and passion fruit mimosas + I had the shrimp and grits. I very much enjoyed everything + the vibe was everything! The dj was good, birthdays all around, *chef’s kiss*
So this was definitely my first time here, never heard about it until my friend decided to have me try it out. The atmosphere is low key I love all the diverse photography & artwork there it gives off culture! We did the brunch menu and did "high key turnt" which is definitely different choosing from different drinks Frozè is def my favorite! Our waiter Danny was such a vibe he deserved every tip he got. He checked up on us to make sure everything was good every chance he got. He even helped out letting my friend meet the owner for business purposes. Now down to the food, portion of eggs was super small compared to how much steak you get. The steak was extremely salty but cooked very well. Their grits are SO WORTH GETTING, I'm not even a grits person but those hit different! The honey biscuits are amazing too and can't go wrong w/the salad too. Even tho the music had a minor setback it was still a vibe & I would surely try it out again & recommend those to try it out.
The tamarindo BBQ baby back ribs were sweet, tangy and definitely delightful. The spot is a good hang for people that live around it and carries a chill and warm vibe. Interesting selection of salads. Having all these things at its favor, the restaurant should definitely try and step up its game at the bar. Other than not having enough provisions in various types of booze, the bartenders didn’t demonstrate advance liquor knowledge or interest in the craft. I will come back with better expectations.
Had a brunch date here and I must say the food and music were delightful. Only disappointment was that the Bellini isn’t really a Bellini, it was a grape flavored mimosa and our server kept forgetting we existed; took us an hour to get the bill after we finished eating. I think it’s probably best to visit during dinner time, the slow pace of brunch makes the servers equally slow.
We got there around noon on a Sunday and they weren't very busy. Everything I had was good. I've been here before and the brunch menu is now very limited. I'm thinking it's due to Covid constraints so I can't really complain about that. Everyone working was friendly. They are taking things very seriously with temperature checks, spraying you down, front to back and under your shoes. I appreciate the extra efforts. I just wish some of the old menu options were still available. The bacon, egg and cheese sandwich was very good. The biscuit looked like it would be hard but it was perfect. The bacon was really good. We ended up ordering a side order of biscuits. The grits were tasty. We had an order of shrimp and grits (not pictured). The recipe has changed since I last visited. I prefer the flavor of the older version. Aside from that, it was a pleasant dining experience. It was nice to get out.
I enjoyed the food. The French toast had a light citrus kick to it which I thought was cool. I loved the tang from the berries in the berry compote and some maple syrup on top added to the love. The scrambled eggs were great - I didn't even have to add salt/pepper. My bacon was a lil extra crispy, I prefer less crispy but I liked it overall. I got a couple stouts to wash it all down. I appreciated the coffee/chocolate notes in the brew. Saw a lot of comments about service on here. I'm happy to say my experience wasn't bad. I came with a group - total of 6. The food came out for all in good time and waitress got our orders right and brought drinks to the table promptly. My girlfriend got the steak entrée. The steak was well prepared...she didn't like her salad though, not enough dressing and none came on the side. Overall I'd go back again. Oh and the bill wasn't bad at all considering the several drinks, 7 entrées (an extra plate was ordered) etc. You know how things can get at brunch...
Nice Nice Nice. Atmosphere was nice. Walked in calm, great music playing. Greeted at the door, seated right away. Took sometime for the waiter to come and take our order. But once that went everything else was great. Drinks were on point and good. Food was mouth watering. Definitely going back. Too much food I have to try.
My friends and I came here for a Sunday brunch. Arrived around 3:30 for the 90 minute unlimited brunch. It’s great that you can choose different packages and not everyone at your table is required to get the same package (but must get a package). I ordered the 40 dollar upgraded package which included frozen and well drinks. I enjoyed the hennycolata and the guava margarita as well as the guava bellini. The drinks were pretty good, not too watered down at all which was great. For food I ordered the shrimp and grits which came with chopped bacon. It was pretty good, the shrimp were well pronounced in the dish but the grits were somewhat missing, my friend’s side of grits looked more plentiful and cheesy than mine. The sauce was creamy and flavorful. I tried one of my friend’s biscuits and it wasn’t that tasty, on the dryer side with an odd texture in the mouth. Though overall the food wasn’t bad. Ambiance- great music, we enjoyed the selection for the most part. Would give the music a 7/10. The table behind us was super loud but they ended up leaving halfway through our meal. Service- our waiter was wonderful and she kept the drinks flowing. Overall, I think the value was okay. Came out to around 73 each pretty typical for a bottomless brunch. They accept multiple cards. I look forward to returning sometime

Love this place for brunch. But won't EVER go back for dinner. The brunch menu is much more appealing, and service is on point. Went for dinner, no one enjoyed the food-except the wings. The fried pickles were all batter and a sliver of pickle-I sent them back. Our server only checked on us as he was giving us our food. Otherwise we had to flag him down for anything else- and wait a while to receive the check. I was also upset to see I was charged for those "fried pickles" that I didnt eat.
Nice place for the neighborhood, unfortunately the food is just ok. Drinks look good though, but we didn’t try. We got biscuits and sausage gravy, and french toasts with vin brûlée reduction. Even though the menu is appealing, the biscuits were not flaky, kind of floury, and few crumbs of sausage. As for the french toast, it was quite bland, you didn’t really taste the wine. Nothing was really flavorful. Just “meh”
The service was great. But, the food was a no for me and a friend. I had chicken caesar salad, the dressing tasted like mayo not dressing, the chicken was very thinly sliced and tasted like it was fried in old oil. Mac n' cheese was ok My friend had catfish, mashed potatoes and broccoli, the catfish was the thinnest filet I ever seen, she said her entire plate was just way too salty. Been here a few years back and it was way better than. Will definitely not be going back.
After getting my hair done, I strolled a few blocks down to Johnson and Graham Aves. This corner establishment is almost blacked out from the outside looking in. I entered and the first thing I noticed was a full bar. I thought someone would greet me, but I only caught the attention of a patron sitting at the bar. That was strange and then one if the bartenders asked me if I needed help. Red flag #1: I asked for a hardcover menu...unavailable! So while it took a few minutes to go online, my first inclination was to walk out. The diners seemed happy and the bar was popping with regulars, so I decided to stay. I sat myself and proceeded to read the entire menu. A bit confusing the way it's listed, but I chose the Shrimp & Grits and a Lemonade. I got the attention of the waiter, who said he barely spoke English. NP, we're in Bushwick. I finally got one of the bartenders to take my order (attitude and all)! Red Flag #2: She and another lady, began circling the tables to see how the guests were doing. The food came and I was excited, the plate was beautiful, hot and delicious! Red Flag #3: Service includes a 20% gratuity. After paying the bill, I noticed a separate dining space behind the partition where I sat, that looked unappealing. The food was good however, the turn-off for me was waiting as long as I did to be seated! I understand that catering to your regulars at the bar is top priority, but at least have enough wait staff to serve the folks who are dining!!! The overall impression was that this place needs a complete upgrade, from the 1800 planked floors to the glass partitions. Making it brighter and more open might do the trick. It's a cross between a classic tavern or dive bar and restaurant.
I went on a Friday night it was pretty empty. The restaurant is very dark on the inside. They have paintings of black hip hop and R&B on the walls. They played hip hop music inside. The food was really good it was seasoned well but it took a while to come considering the restaurant was empty about 50 minutes the food took. This place would be better if it was a lounge.
3.5 Stars. The brunch bartenders are on the money. Very attentive, friendly and they make some delicious STRONG drinks. We got there in between brunch and dinner, and chilled at the bar. Dinner was later than expected but the vibes were cool so we didn't complain. The mac and cheese is dynamic, so is the mash potato and the collard greens. The fried chicken was undercooked, no seasoning and was a little disappointing. I would definitely go back a little later in the evening though....
Sorry for the three stars.. Almost a decade ago I loved this place. But today I had a different experience. The music was so loud, it was impossible to have a conversation. During brunch not at night. The food was also average, the potatoes were almost black, fried in old oil, yet still mushy. Sucks. Because I still love featherweight in the back...
Mediocre gastropub. Unfortunate because this place has been on my want list for about 3 years. I went there on a weekday afternoon for lunch. It took rather long to even be acknowledged even though there were only 4 other patrons there. I got the sweet science wings half honey BBQ and other was buffalo but they came tremendously dry I asked for sauce on side but the wings were clearly microwaved and tasted as if I ordered them last night and took them home and reheated them. I was upsold on the Joe Louis burger when I ordered the single that it was "thin" so I got the triple but the Patty was pretty thick so I could have went with a single. Nice looking burger but tasted very basic like at a Diner. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but those are benchmark items I think should stand out at the very least. There is a lot of room to improve which is a good thing. Owner should periodically check quality and ticket times. It's a terrific looking menu.
I went during lunch. The place wasn't crowded at all. I sat at the bar. The bartender could have been more attentive. I had a Cobb salad which was pretty filling.
Annoyingly strict about requiring whole party to be present. We had 5/6 and the place was not even close to full but they made us linger at the bar for the last person. I got the chicken and waffles. It was tasty, but the portion size of chicken was really disappointingly small —- maybe 4oz if that. Not worth $24
Definitely a good place to be social and drink with your friends. Not completely sold on the menu or food. Staff was friendly and helpful but at times they would vanish for long periods. I really enjoy the hot toddy which was basically Jameson and cinnamon, it kind of reminded me of a hard tea. Food tasted okay, I just wish the portions were bigger. The fish and chips and the burger were both fairly small in size but didn’t match the price. The jerk ribs were good portioned for sure but you will have to pay a higher price.

Drinks and food came out fast. Our server was super nice, funny and attentive, making sure all of our (party of nine) food accommodations were accurate. But the drinks taste bottom shelf and stale.…
Why was the mimosa in a 4 oz water glass with 2 oz of mimosa in it. The entire table refused their single gulp mimosa for the price. The breakfast was average, the bottle of jam goes from Table to table which is unsanitary. For May 4th Pre-Mother's day brunch was under served. I didn't get value. Disappointed!
Servers are a bit awkward, but kind nonetheless. They were very quiet and mumbled quite a bit. They didn't really check up on us at all and it took about 25 to 30 minutes after finishing eating to get our check. We were in a bit of a hurry and tried to call our waiter over to the table, but no one came by. It's in a very gentrified area of Brooklyn so I guess it makes sense. The food was good. Not bad, but the portions are very small. Definitely left hungry. Not a terrible place, but probably wouldn't come back. And make sure you read thoroughly before coming here, they automatically add (pretty high %) tips to your bill even though I probably would not have tipped that high considering the service wasn't amazing.
We didn't ask for the front row seating, but we were treated to a show of watching the staff sing and dance and generally ignore their customers. My friend asked for a warm apple cider, and wasn't told they couldn't make it until at least 20 minutes later. The server then suggested a hot totty, which didn't arrive until after we had already finished our meals. We rejected it. It takes a lot of DGAF to fail at giving your customer her first drink. To top it off we had a forced gratuity. This wasn't a particularly busy day, the staff member making drinks can be seen seated in the white shirt. She was chilling. On the outdoor sign they have written "be nice! These are trying times for all of us". yes they are trying times made harder by a service team that can't be bothered, and an automatic gratuity that we were forced to pay. Please do better :)
The staff were friendly but the food was just bad. Loads of butter on the shrimp as well as the patty on the burger and burger buns. In fact the butter made the buns so fragile that the burger broke into pieces. And its one of the worst burger that I have had, nothing( no sauce , lettuce or vegetables) in between the buns , only burger patties. No fries on the side and too small for a meal, its more like an appetizer size. The shrimps with the garlic sauce was again buttery and they used small shrimps . The taste was just too bland. I saw a lot of people at the bar so I think their bar service is good. As for the food, wouldn’t recommend them It was just too bad
I had the Shrimp and grits. The Grits were good but the thing that really upset me was the onions. Every bite had a thick big crunchy onion. The menu never said anything about onions in this meal which is crazy. I hate onions I had to pick them out my food If i wasn't hungry I would sent the plate back. The staff were very nice best part of the experience.
Let's start with the food was trash. Worst money ever spent. I was told the chicken and waffle was chicken breast. I received a dry thigh. Waffle was terrible. The burger was tiny and not flavorful. …

Me and a group of friends dined on 7/27. It was my friends birthday. Everything was fine and normal in our dining experience until we noticed a tiny Yorkie (yes dog!) roaming the restaurant unattended!! We asked our server (who was extremely kind and hospitable) who the dog belonged to and he said some one at the bar. Well anyways long story short. We witnessed the dog walk into the kitchen not ONE but TWO times and he was shoo’d out by the chefs. Finally the owner got control of the dog AFTER us having to verbally TELL our server to alert the customer. The music was great and we enjoyed our time and they did great with the birthday however I still can’t believe I witnessed a DOG go in a kitchen multiple times. It was worth a review honestly! People should know what they are getting themselves into
A Bitter Experiment at "Sweet Science" I recently visited Sweet Science for brunch, hoping for a well-balanced experience, but unfortunately, this experiment in dining went completely wrong. From the moment we walked in, the only thing truly "sweet" was the energy of the DJ, who had the bar area alive with music and celebration. The hospitality, however, was anything but scientific—our server, Isaac, skipped the basics of service, offering no welcome, no recommendations, and no introduction to the menu. Instead, we were met with a robotic “Are you ready to order?” as if we had walked into a cafeteria instead of a sit-down establishment. The drinks? A failed formula. The rum punch tasted like bargain-bin Kool-Aid, completely lacking the rich, fruity depth that defines a proper Caribbean cocktail. My Uncle Nearest Old Fashioned was so overloaded with orange bitters that it looked like it had been exposed to radioactive oranges. When I pointed this out, the server’s solution was to “just add more whiskey.” A laughable suggestion, considering the drink was already unbalanced. The second attempt was slightly better, but still far from a successful result. The food was equally disastrous. My steak and eggs were a chewy, under-seasoned disappointment, and the honey biscuit—if you could even call it that—was so dense it could have doubled as a self-defense weapon. My friend’s chicken and waffles suffered a similar fate; the chicken looked burnt from being fried in old grease, making it as unappealing as it was inedible. To top it all off, the check came with an automatic 20% gratuity, presumably for the DJ—because it certainly wasn’t earned by the kitchen or our server. While I respect that service industry workers need to be paid, forcing gratuity on such a subpar experience felt more like an added penalty for enduring the meal. Sweet Science may have a great atmosphere, but when it comes to food, drinks, and service, they need to head back to the lab—because this formula is completely off.
Belligerent bartender, sad experience, I spent money and made friends with the table next to mine, they were celebrating a birthday and eating pizza as the hours of drinking and supporting the bar winded down a drunk female shorthaired and tempers bartender came outside to chastise all tables outside for thier “blatant” disrespect… I’m a supporter of the bar and personally didn’t take food to the venue. The bartender didn’t care and chose to berate and attack us for no reason. Simply for making friends with people who had brought food. We are friendly city hopping artists who do nothing but support the industry. The experience was quite disgusting. I feel for the bar manager who begged for her to stop attacking us, and at a point I gave in and had to remind her that we were guests and her attitude was abhorrent. I explore bars and enjoy all my experiences… this was the first hooooorrrribbllee mistreatment that was simply undeserved. If you go here make sure to support the venue , avoid the short haired angry woman. She’s destroying the venue and the environment. Our community is neighbors and you just lost support I hope the management sees this post. We would love to hear what your opinion on the matter is………
This was a pretty chill place. However, our server made our experience terrible (Issac S.). We had to beg and ask multiple times for more drinks after we are paying for a bottomless serve with 20% tip already added. The total for 3 people was $250 and I know that if we had a different server the service would be completely different. Issac was not attentive.
Just know the photos are of the second plate after they over cooked my rare steak the first time & the eggs are supposed to be over easy. I sent it back and still got a MEDIUM WELL to WELL DONE steak. Then they brought out the biscuits we ordered LONG after we started to eat. SMH, honestly the service is great because Jess is amazing as always, but the chef only word to describe him is horrible
The waitress was good overall and nice but all the food was mediocre/bad and they served a raw meat burger when we asked for medium well. My wife is pregnant and cant eat raw meat. They also missed the bacon and charged us for the bacon add on the burger... They didn't remove the burger from our check even though we sent it back/didn't eat it and they apologized for it not being cooked at all....we were ok with them just sending another burger but then they said the kitchen would take a long time for anything else ordered at least 45 min? I would expect them to put a mistake/fix at the front of the kitchen line but we didn't argue because that's not what we like to do. The waitress comp'd 2 beers which was nice but it didn't match the price of a burger and bacon we paid for.... We also ordered a brownie for desert and it was completely undercooked. The food should be half price for the product they're serving. The food and management was a complete let down.
Went here for a friend's birthday for brunch and was excited to go after looking at menu and photos! We got there and the waiter had an attitude. He was annoyed we asked for a second to view the menu and when he took all of our orders. He went MIA after that. Our food was actually decent but the portion sizes on all my friend's food were TINY!!! Most people had to order second plates! We had a lady kind of fill in for our waiter, and she was slightly more attentive. She took the second orders/ side orders. One of my friend's food never came and we were charged for it. They did fix that after walking up to the bar to complain. Overall, decent food, small portions sizes, and bad service.
It was sooooo bad. I ordered French toast and chicken & waffles, but my French toast was burnt. And the chicken was just warm. The portions were so small that I could have gone to another restaurant for another meal. I'm not a big eater! I feel full after eating a McDonald's set. And the tip is automatically included at 20% regardless of the service.
Went last Sunday by myself and waited 20 mins after being seated to order. Waited over 30 an hour for both food and drinks. Drinks were served at the same time as good which was unual, plus there were barely any people there, most sat at the bar. Few scattered patrons sat at tables, not only this but the blonde hostess was completely disinterested in seating me and left it to one of the brothas to seat me and he served me. Overall a bad experience when I've done here in the past (always with someone else with me) and had great service. Also always expect a 20% graduity on ALL checks, they absolutely did not deserve it.
