Tava Brooklyn Reviews
I’ve been here multiple times and the food is consistently incredible. So well seasoned, meats are perfectly grilled, homemade bread, and the dips are delicious! Staff is always very kind and welcoming. I can’t recommend Tava enough, it’s the perfect dinner spot. I take everyone who visits park slope here!
I’m so glad a friend recommended this Turkish spot. The food and service were excellent, and the interior had a calm, peaceful atmosphere. Definitely try the lahmacun and künefe. The traditional Turkish tea was freshly served as well. I’ll definitely be back regularly.
Friendly greeting and quite helpful description with phenomenal service followed by mouthwatering dishes-cocktails. Cucumbertini drink was well balanced, textured flavorfully. I tried spinach tarator mezze as my appetizer and lahmacun ( Crunchy crisped crust topped with ground beef and onions) as my main dish. They both was the best so far. I appreciate to Tava team for giving the best efforts.
Most delicious hummus, bread, baklava, and oh! the lamb kabobs were amazing. It was all simply the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. Thank you!
I happened upon Tava Turkish and Mediterranean Cuisine and immediately liked the way it felt…welcoming, with lovely music inside. I was not disappointed! Delicious arugula salad (a full meal!) cold beer, and a complimentary dessert! The server and hostess were attentive without being intrusive. It doesn’t get any better!
Without question, one of the best meals I’ve had living in Park Slope for 4 years. Everything was incredibly fresh, and the portions were a great size to share as a family meal. Highly recommend the Lamb (Fri/Sat), the mixed app plate, the falafel, the babaganoush, and the Lahmacun. All were amazing. The grape leaves were fantastic too. Cannot speak highly enough of the food, kicking ourselves for not going sooner. Our new favorite in the neighborhood. The service was impeccable, and our waiter was kind and knowledgeable. Loved the Turkish wines.
Tava Turkish and Mediterranean is popular for a reason—it absolutely lives up to the hype. The food is rich in flavor and beautifully prepared. I had a mix of dishes, and everything was spot-on, from the tender kebabs to the creamy hummus. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. The atmosphere is stylish and comfortable, and the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, Tava delivers a consistently amazing experience.
I have been to this location on two separate occasions. I outdoor dined during summer and indoor dined this November. The atmosphere is so beautiful, and truly adds to the neighborhood. Cozy, intimate, authentic atmosphere, with lovely Mediterranean music and themes, truly a cultural oasis. The food is exquisite, and their Prosecco is delicious. Their grilled shrimp is delectable with just the right amount of char and their penne a la vodka has just the right ratio of seasoning. The food is light, filling, warm, and savory. The Liver Cubes appetizer was large, delectable, and filling. Their traditional Turkish bread and olive oil was perfect, fresh, warm, and light. Their Tiramisu is lovely, very well made, and the perfect ending to a full course meal. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant, if not only for the atmosphere and food, but for the exceptional 5 star service. The staff is kind, attentive, personable, and prompt. I felt at home, was well fed, and truly enjoyed the ambience every time I’ve had the pleasure of dining there. If you want an exquisite evening to treat yourself or loved ones, this is the place to go, you won’t regret it 🤗
What a bang for your buck! We came here on a weekend evening and was able to get seated right away. We ordered two dishes but they were big enough for us to take home for another meal. Everything was delicious and fresh. Would recommend if you’re in the area and looking for great Turkish food.
I have been here for dinner, lunch, and now brunch, and everything is delicious. The pides and the manti are outstanding. The meat is perfectly cooked. The side salad is very good, the pickled red cabbage brings brightness and a nice crunch, but it's a little overdressed usually. The bread is crispy and fluffy. The wraps are very good but I wish the white sauce was a little thicker. Everything is full of flavor, the service is quick, and the ambiance is nice.
A cute little lunch spot on the 5th Ave stripe. The restaurant was pretty empty but understandable considering it was about 3pm on a weekday. We ordered two lunch specials - the kofte and the chicken shish. The pita came out first without the appetizers. We ordered the babaganush and spinach tarator but we ate most of the pita without and had to ask for more. I guess it's standard? Anyway, the tarator was amazingly creamy and tart which I preferred over the babaganush. The entrees came out without waiting too long. Both were hot and just what we needed on a cold day. The kofte was good but a bit gamey. The chicken was delicious! Lots flavor and very moist! I highly recommend! The wait staff was minimal and a bit distant but it was nice. The restaurant was clean and well decorated. A nice experience overall.
Most of the food here is hearty. Tastes clean and nothing was overly sauced (maybe even not enough). The price you pay for the food is definitely not worth it. $18 for a wrap and fries from Jetro is a big mistake. I did like the seasoning on the fries though. Chicken kebabs for $23 were a bit disappointing. Sure you get some big chunks of chicken breast, but it’s dry. Bringing your leftovers home? Good luck heating it up without it turning it into a brick. Staff is friendly. Another table got oil for their bread but I didn’t. I guess I had to ask for it but I would’ve never known. Their brunch menu is something you’ll find in a cafe minus their avocado toast with gyro. They have some items on their brunch menu that are on the regular menu for the same price. Not sure what is really the point including it. Expect to pay $20-$35 per person for brunch.
It is definitely overpriced with very poor service, and it feels like the servers who work there are being held up for some reason. I ordered lentil soup, arugula salad, and lahmacun. The lentil soup was okay, but the salad was a mess—they tried to make something they call an arugula salad, but cheap feta cheese was covering the entire plate. We also ordered a spinach omelet, and again, feta cheese was all over it, and the taste was not good. Finally, I needed hot water for my tea, and I was told they had no hot water and were waiting for the pot to finish boiling
