Petite Dumpling Brooklyn Reviews
Love Petite Dumpling! Cozy spot with great service. Love that they have a lot of veggie options. Highly recommend!
Loved their vegetarian Ban Mein. Ambiance was great too! Went there on a weekday around 8 pm. The restaurant was not too crowded. Staff was very nice! I think the owner was sitting next to my table and talking to a few of her customer friends and just having a nice time. Great home like vibes comes from this place for some reason!
My wife and i stopped in for lunch. Very quaint, and cozy. No physical menu if that's an issue, but the web based menu has plenty of options for everyone, prices are reasonable and the service is quick and friendly. Would recommend fire small parties, date night and the casual walk in.
Incredible. We love petite dumpling! Such fabulous food, kind souls preparing it, and a lovely warm vibe.
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner our first evening in Brooklyn. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, not to mention the incredibly friendly and helpful service. For me, it was the most authentic tasting and well done dim sum I've had since being in China. The dumpling wrappers were thin and tender and and bao buns as light and fluffy as one could hope for - clearly the kitchen knows what they're doing. We ordered the vegetarian spring rolls, mixed vegetable dumplings, sesame tofu, chinese broccoli, mushroom bao and were treated to green tea mochi for dessert. Everything came out as soon as it was ready and tasted great. As others have mentioned, the food was also well priced and the atmosphere very charming and clean. All that said, the service was perhaps the highlight for us yesterday. Thank you so much James, you made our evening!
i was here last Wednesday, loved this place. The recommendation from our server Aru was great. She made sure that food is not too spicy, cause i am not spicy tolerant, so gave me good advise. So my favourite: Hargow, greens, dumplings and small plates. Loved the service. Definitely will come back.
Great place! I’ve been coming since the day it opened, and I highly recommend the spicy pork soup dumplings, the pork bao, and the sticky rice. Their soups are great too, very unique. Definitely my favorite dim sum in the city.
This is a great low key restaurant. The small dishes give you a chance to try a number of things on the menu, and there is more variety than the typical dim sum fare. Some dishes are spicy, while others are mild. The servers are very kind, and I always find a table quickly.
My first time going here and the place is the best. It was warm quiet cozy nice lighting and art. The host and the whole team were very nice and helpful , The food was so fresh , authentic ,well priced , well portioned , and tasty. I am definitely going back to try more and more . The next day I couldn't stop thinking how great everything was. I highly recommend for a nice date night or any time really .
We come here every Sunday for brunch before hitting up the farmers market. It’s the perfect execution of comfort food that doesn’t make you feel heavy after. The dim sum menu is small but has all the favorites, and they do it really well. Their congee is my favorite and great for hangovers. Both chicken and veggie versions are clean yet flavorful. Dumplings are juicy and have a nice skin that’s not too thick but thick enough (giggidy). Veggie dishes are bomb. Honestly everything is tasty and priced well. The restaurant is small but not cramped. It allows the service to be more attentive. This place good I like.
Went on a double date here. The food was phenomenal, diverse, and terrific for sharing. Many of the dishes had us wanting to go back for seconds. The waiter, Sergio, provided some of the best service I've ever received. He was attentive, kind, and gave great guidance about what to order.
The food is delicious. I can’t talk highly enough about the pork bao buns, soup dumplings, cucumber salad — the list goes on and on. This is a go-to spot for us. We bring friends and family when they’re in town, too!
I have lots of food allergies/sensitivities and the staff was extremely accommodating towards me. Got the coconut curry noodle soup and it tasted great. My friends loved all their food, esp the soup dumplings ofc and had to order more. Thank you for being so friendly and understanding :)
Food is delicious and affordable. Also staff is very kind and friendly. James especially! He answered any questions we had and offered great recommendations!
Super cozy dim sum spot with great food, polite service and a good energy. This is my go to for a nice shared meal with friends, or even just a nice meal solo.
I had dinner here today. It was very busy. The waitress was polite, quickly found a table, and took my order. Thank you for the quality, service, and warm atmosphere.
We enjoyed a lovely meal on the avenue. Dinner service got really busy, and the tables on the closed street had already filled up. They were kind enough to bring more tables outside so that we could enjoy the lovely weather under the light of a nearly full moon. In spite of the fact that the order system went down, and a seemingly small staff, the food was really delicious and the prices were reasonable, considering the neighborhood average. We opened our appetites with a pot of jasmine tea served with dainty tea glasses. We then began our meal with the crispy duck rolls, which had an interestingly creamy and slightly starchy interior and were seved with a tangy sauce. Then, a steaming bowl of chicken congee which came topped with a thin slice of cruller and some cilantro and scallion and a bit of fried shallot. I added a half tea egg, some white pepper, and soy sauce which elevated it. We had the the lamb dill dumplings, which were piping hot and delightfully flavorful. We selected the Chinese broccoli for our daily green, and they were flash fried, perfectly crisp, lightly salty, with a hint of garlic. Our final dish, the taro cake (which they were kind enough to comp due to the slower service), had the most lovely texture, and was served on a spectacular spicy sauce tinged with five spice. Sadly, that was the dish I forgot to photograph, but it was so good that we will be back to eat it again, and to try many of their other offerings.
Fair prices, delicious food, attentive staff. Tried an array of dumplings and bao buns. The taste was good, nothing out of this world per se but quite tasty. The cold sake was refreshing and portions were favorable. Great to have as an option when craving good dumplings and dim sum.
My sister and I wound up at Petite Dumpling for an early dinner on a whim before a show at the Bell House. I can’t tell you how wonderful and thoughtful this small restaurant is. Prices are incredibly fair, service is amazing, and every dish we tried was delicious and comforting. We loved the shrimp dim sum dumplings, mala cucumbers, and fish congee. The attention to detail here does not go unnoticed - even down to the very pretty and functional tea service and minimal but cute decor.
Deliciously affordable food in a warn & cozy atmosphere. Petite dumpling is the perfect intimate spot to enjoy a lunch with some friends of have a dinner date. The appetizers are truly show stopping. You can’t come here without getting the scallion pancakes & chicken sticky rice. For mains, the curry soup is perfect for winter weather. Cannot recommend highly enough!
My go-to dish here is the coconut curry soup with a choice of three types of noodles and a choice of three ingredients. I get shrimp and sliced fish. The soup also comes with fried noodles, sprouts, and greens. It's the best soup I've ever had.
We dined in this clean & cozy restaurant. You will need to use the QR code to order thru the website. Still, service is fast & friendly. We enjoyed appetizers: Scallions Pancakes (our favorite), Crispy Duck Rolls, Pork Soup Dumplings & Roast Pork Bao. Definitely will be returning to try more of their selection. Prices are super affordable, great addition to the neighborhood!
Perfect spot for a warm, wonderful, flavorful meal. We walked in at 7pm on a Sunday for a table of 8, and they sat us down within 5 minutes!! The food came in shortly after, one dish after the next got better and better. Incredible curry soups and dim sum was divine. Must go !!
I would definitely come back here and bring friends! They were busy and the service did not falter - the server was kind and efficient. The pork soup dumplings were the stand out dish, and honorable mentions for the dumplings and roast pork bao. The noodles came out lukewarm, not hot. Same with the dumplings. The noodles lacked slightly in flavor for my taste, but my date loved them so to each their own. Even so, food and vibe was great and I will be returning to try more of the menu!
Mei is the talented owner / chef who serves her version of Chinese food. Her palate is refined and deliciously interesting. Crispy and not-oily scallion pancakes, satisfying dumplings and bao sandwiches with a variety of fillings including vegetarian options, perfectly sauced noodles, and refreshing mala cucumber salad. Tonight, we finished with a steamed walnut creamed bun. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!
A cozy new place in an area that badly needs good Asian food. The service is wonderful and fast. The food was all so delicious and had homemade taste to it. My favorites were the Szechuan Ban Mein and soup dumplings. Will definitely return!
Come here for some really good and unique dim sum and small plates to share. Everything we tried was great. Highlights were the scallion pancakes and the soup dumplings.
Excellent service coupled with delicious food. Ordered the lamb and dill potstickers, chicken and Napa cabbage potstickers, chicken wonton soup, and Sichuan Bàn Mein. We particularly loved the potstickers with their complex and unique flavor profiles. My partner loved the noodle texture and I loved the spice level. Overall a great experience and a new go to spot.
We came during the soft opening and were impressed by the huge selection even on a limited menu. Our favorites were the roast pork bao and the soup dumplings. Very glad to have this new option in the neighborhood.
Cosy place for noodles! Was here a few weeks ago, really tasted like home

A comforting delicious noodle soup that reminds me of home
I came to the restaurant on a Wednesday evening, right at the busiest time (around 7pm) and honestly, I don’t regret it at all. The place was packed, but I still managed to find myself a table. I placed my order and waited a little longer than usual, but it was totally worth it. I really loved the atmosphere warm, lively, and welcoming. The waiter who served me was so nice and attentive, even though the place was full. Everything came out hot and fresh, and the service was surprisingly fast. The food was delicious, especially the soup that was my favorite part of the meal. Overall, everything was just perfect. Definitely five stars from me!😍
This spot isn't in guidebooks yet. Employees are remarkably kind and accommodating, serving food rapidly. They serve excellent food at fair rates. The food quality showed in our completely empty plates. This spot provides a good environment.

Overall solid. The gua bao were kind of flavorless with flat textures and tasted almost plastic? Was off put by them. The greens were sauteed well with good simple seasoning. The small plate tofu was simple and satisfying. The turnip cakes were really amazing though. Better than my favorite dim sum place. Perfect texture and seasoning. $30 for one, $40 with tax and tip. Bit pricey overall for the portions but I was full and satisfied. The staff are very nice and the environment is very nice. Good small date spot. Seems like they can seat 1-4 people per party. I think the seasoning and cooking was very simple relative to the presentation and cost. Quick home meal vibes. Comforting and filling but with restaurant portions and prices.
Nice small place! Got their shrimp shumai, cucumber mala salad, and crab soup dumplings, which came out delicious. Also got their steamed rice noodles and curry fish ball, which lacked some flavor and was too soupy but still decent. Their passion fruit iced tea was also great. Overall, food was good! However, the server was not too attentive. Had to wait a while for my menu and check, which I ended up having to go to the counter for myself. Would come here again, just wish there was better service.
We got chicken dumplings, duck baos, century eggs and braised beef platter and everything was delicious. The beef platter was on the smaller side but pretty delicious. I would highly recommend coming here. Service was great too

Nice place for a bite. They have really good buns, although they are a bit small. I also enjoyed their noodle dishes.
Seems like their menu/quality of the food has changed recently compared to when they first opened. There was a difference in preparation and flavor for some of dishes - I was previously obsessed with the mala soup dumplings and mala cucumber and found them pretty disappointing during my last visit. We had a few gua bao and was shocked and the lack of sauce/flavor for a few of them. I hope they can go back to the way they were because it was such a great option to have in the neighborhood.
The food is ok, but pricy. The service however is very very very slow. Some dishes didn't even started preparing 45 mins after we ordered them. I feel they optimize for take out and let dine-in customers wait. Or maybe the kitchen is simply not able to serve both dine-in and take out. We will not go again.
3.10.23 - stopped in for a quick bite after placing an order at Buttermilk Bake Shop. The soup dumplings were generally good; the congee was also nicely done and full of flavor; the ramen with fishballs and other meats was tasty while the broth was a little light. I think this restaurant leans towards the Cantonese flavor profile and it seems to favor the oyster sauce, too.

What could have been! Good service and decent noodle soup but the dim sum is objectively bad. The har gao is bland, just mashed up shrimp. The pork Shumai was dried out, salty and a weird meat flavor. I kept hearing a beeping coming from the kitchen. A timer or, dare I say, a microwave? Most of Brooklyn is sadly lacking in good, affordable dim sum. This one could have been really something. Alas, it is not. Keep searching.

First time trying, pork dumpling weird taste in the meat and service took long for take out and waitress' she wasn't to pleasant. Wont be returning
