Three Jolly Pigeons Brooklyn Reviews
Turkish coffee was excellent and the breakfast pastry was flaky, rich and cheesy. Service was friendly and patient (it was my first visit). There is a nice but not overwhelming selection of savory and sweets. I bought two kinds of baklava to go. I look forward to trying other coffees on my next visit.
It was my first time there and I absolutely liked it! The prices are way affordable than any other Turkish breakfast place and the taste is better than the most of others. I highly recommend if you want to eat a good “menemen”.
I recently had breakfast here with a friend, and we loved everything about it. The highlight of our meal was the Dubai chocolate, which was incredibly good and offered a unique twist compared to other versions we’ve tried. The pastries were served warm and were absolutely delicious, making for a comforting start to the day. To top it all off, the coffee was rich and flavorful, perfectly complementing the pastries. Overall, it was a fantastic breakfast experience, and we will definitely be coming back for more!
This place has had a bit of a turnover, but I really hope this Turkish Cafe sticks around. Turkish coffee is delucious. Gyro platters is moist and yummy. Great value. The only thing I wish I had is sauce, but I didn't think to ask. Will definitely ask next time
I wish there were more cafes like this in New York: spacious, unpretentious, and affordable. Had the Turkish coffee and kunefe and relaxed on the couches for a couple hours. Perfect way to relax!
Impressed by this one! Love the cheese omelette! Tried Turkish coffee! Great place!
This is pretty much my go-to place now With regard to the other reviews, people should know what to order. This is not a place you come for your usual Starbucks or cute cafe order of coffee and croissants. Get the Turkish tea and simit or pogaca and enjoy a nice relaxing writing or work session!
We love going to this cafe! There is so much variety but our favorite thing to order is the Turkish breakfast! The hot Turkish tea is also so refreshing after a nice meal. Thank you Ahmed for the wonderful service!
We ate su borek and katmer they both are was delicious. Turkish tea was so authentic. I love this place’s vibe. Super cozy atmosphere. Definitely I’m gonna come back
Had a great morning getting breakfast here and working. Fast WiFi, has outlet, cozy atmosphere, comfortable seating.
Love this place, one of my favorites in the neighborhood for a sandwich or breakfast. Staff is so friendly and the food is consistently delicious.
I came here to have breakfast on my short day trip and I was pleasantly surprised! The Turkish breakfast was tasty, service from Ahmed was great, pastries and tea were delicious. Overall a good experience.
Super relaxing and affordable cafe. The space inside is sunny, cozy, and pretty. It gives a warm homey vibe. Great place to catch up with friends or get some work done alone.
I ate the most delicious menemen made by Ahmet who was extremely kind! For those who don’t know menemen, it’s like omelette (eggs with vegetables cooked slowly, so you gonna wait for a while but it’s worth the wait). The Turkish tea was also very tasty!
You're not just getting a taste of Turkey—you're experiencing hospitality at its finest, courtesy of the man himself, Ahmet. His warm demeanor and genuine care for his customers set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. It's no wonder Ahmet's is the go-to spot for Turkish cuisine enthusiasts nationwide. Ahmet's dedication to his craft and his customers is something the restaurant owner can be truly proud of, as his exceptional attitude continues to draw in a loyal following.
First, I want to praise Mr. Ahmet who, based on my family’s and my shared experience is always super friendly, attentive and makes you feel at home. He always takes great care of us as his customers. We always order coffee with Simit or Acma and they are always super fresh and tasty. The Simit and Acma both have the authentic Istanbul street style taste and aroma. Highly recommend!
This place is a landmark.! 130 year old bar, beautifully refurbished, you are drinking in a time capsule. A true neighborhood congregation point, that is welcoming to ALL!!
Very chill and home-y bar. Almost always regulars specially at night time. Great prices and service, bartenders are always friendly and there's also a jukebox and a dart board if you wanna play a few rounds.
Love this place - I visit every time I am in the Bay Ridge area. Nice laid back spot, not divey, but not high brow either. Prices are just right, and the bartenders are often very sociable and attentive to guests. I haven't eaten here much, I usually just get the frozen pizza they heat up right there at the bar, it's super convenient.
I've been a huge fan and sadly these days more off than on patron of this pub since the mid 1980s, my mates Kevin and Robert brought me there back when we were all young and ready for anything, Kevin went on to be a bartender, Robert went on to work in Manhattan, while I went to Connecticut. This pub is just one of the many reasons why I am homesick for me old neighborhood, and although it's been quite sometime since I've knocked back a few pints of Guinness there, I am hopeful that soon I will be able to come back on a regular basis and hoist a few, and while I realize things may have changed, a pub like the Three Jolly Pigeons will always be what it always was, a great place for friends to gather, young and old, and have a great time.
This is an awesome little place. An old-timers neighborhood bar that is reasonably priced. Great for drinks after work or to just hang out with friends for a bit. Highly recommend.
The Three Jolly Pigeons is a fantastic spot for a night out with friends, offering a great selection of drinks on tap, reasonable prices, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and delicious pizza. The staff are always happy to help and make great recommendations. The bar has a great vibe and the perfect spot for unwinding after a long day at work, or for kicking off a fun night out on the town. If you're looking for a great bar with a great selection of drinks, good prices and delicious pizza, The Three Jolly Pigeons is a must-visit.
I'm 22 and this is my favorite bar in the neighborhood. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed - no fighting and no bullies. Very safe. The bartenders are nice people and quite funny. They will even cover you for a round once you're a few in - and that's on top of their already quite affordable prices. Definitely the place to be to catch up with your friends over drinks without breaking the bank or having to look over your shoulder.
I love this place. Come here regularly and will keep coming. The place has a classic pub feel, the bartenders are great and the clientele is down to earth and from the neighborhood. Great place to go for a drink at the end of the week and bring some friends or coworkers.
I love this place! Drinks are cheap, comfortable setting, and nice decor (during Christmas season). Definitely stop here if you're nearby or looking for a place to go with group of people. The music is low so great place to hold a conversation and have fun. An ideal date spot if you're looking to grab drinks after dinner.
This place is like a time capsule. I won't say you check it and tell me what you think. Bar bartenders are great and friendly and if you come again they will remember you.
Updated review: We still have a few drinks here when gathering with friends, and the new staff is friendly to us, but there seems to have been a change of management/staff that has affected the ambiance. Original review: Absolutely love this place. Husband and I have been going for about a year (almost always for karaoke nights) and have made quite a few friends here. The other reviewers have already said it, but the drinks are well priced, the service is fantastic, and the crowd is generally very friendly. It's everything you'd want in a neighbourhood bar.
This is essentially a neighborhood bar, so you will observe folks who probably live in nearby neighborhoods. It's similar to many other bars all over NYC where people show up to be social, or be by themselves among others. The night I was there the bands were playing for all LEO birthday celebrants. Good music, good shows. Good crowd.
First time at this bar. The bartender was very friendly, helpful and professional. The customers seemed friendly and alright, but I went in with intentions of getting my band to play there. I don't know if the bar is big enough to accommodate our fans who frequent our shows. Hopefully, I do get a call.
Ordered a latte and it tasted like watered down coffee with warm milk. Reading through other reviews and owner responses, it seems like that may be the intended taste of their beverages as they do not have espresso. However, there should be mention of this on the menu or when ordering. Unless you are going for a Turkish tea or coffee, I would recommend going elsewhere in Bay Ridge. Much better coffees around.
It's a nice place to have a drink!
*UPDATE* thank you to the owner that took time to read my review. The baklava was definitely great. I'll be back to try the other varieties. I needed good coffee, so I went to check this place out because of the good reviews. Someone mentioned the pastries here are from Costco, I have to agree with the person. Baklava was great, but the Turkish coffee was not it. People were nice, so that itself earned 5 stars.
What I don’t understand is how this place gets a good review. This is the second time going into this place. I got an acma it was hard like a rock. All of their pastry and breakfast items are delivered from Divan or Safir. They give you the day old stuff and not even mention to you. They could actually do a better job with this place since they charge an arm and leg for food they get from other places. Today I gave them another chance and my order was close to 50 for old stuff and 2 small lahmacun for 20 dollars when I could of gone to another Turkish place and got 3 lahmacun along with the salad mix that is suppose to come with it. And let me tell you that Lahmacun takes times to make and I am pretty and sure this place got it from another place because it was fast. And I know he heated it up in his little oven. Then my son went back to get a fork and the guy told him no! Shame on you after we spent close to 50 dollars. Stay away from this since you have real coffee places in bay ridge. And if you want Turkish go to a Turkish restaurant or a real Turkish bakery like Divan or Safir. At least you get real quality.
Croissant pastries are from Costco. Ordered a latte and got what seemed like watered down coffee, not espresso. The color of the espresso layer was like a tea color instead of a dark color. The latte overall tasted like sugary milk. The non-pastry food in this place might be great given other reviews but if you’re looking for espresso drinks or pastries, this is not the place.
Dive bar with cheap drinks. I had a few drinks and wanted to step out to enjoy a toke off my oil pen. Once I was back inside, the bartender told me that the owners told him to tell me not to do that again. Although cigarettes are fine? The hypocrisy… It’s all legal! Owners were outside while I was out too and didn’t say a word to me but wanted the bartender to convey the message…
