Tone Cafe Brooklyn Reviews
This place is phenomenal. We came with a big group for a birthday and were so impressed by the quality of the food, the speed of the service, and the cozy atmosphere. By far the best Georgian food I’ve ever had in nyc.
We went to Tone Cafe and honestly felt so welcomed from the moment we walked in. The staff was genuinely friendly and attentive, and they checked on us at the right times to make sure everything was perfect. The portion sizes were amazing, and everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. What stood out most was how they made us feel at home and paid attention to the smallest details. We left happy and taken care of, and we can’t wait to come back.
Food was delicious . We tried pork shashlik, khachapuri and tarragon. Portions are big. Atmosphere is nice , it would be cool if they play Georgian songs. Service was great.
Just what you want to eat, to share and to bring home ! Delicious lavash and absolutely fantastic generous khatchapuri, excellent khinkalis and tchanakhi — and we are bringing home pkhali and tchakapuli, matsoni and jonjoli — so yet to enjoy ! Very nice kitchen and service personnel, only positive things to say !
Service 10/10 - nice, fast , welcome Food 10/10 - very good food. Hot and delicious If you come to visit take khinkali, hachapuri , and soup or meat kebab. Now it’s my must go place. I would say it’s the best Georgian restaurant around Brighton beach and Coney Island area.
I had khachapuri, adjaruli since childhood both in Tbilisi and Batumi, but you guys have the BEST ones I've ever tried. Compliments to the Chef for unbelievable dough! Beso had the most wonderful, professional, pleasant and friendly service. Will definitely be back for his super welcoming and warm hosting! The best of luck to your business.
The chatbostnili (a cold eggplant dish) was our favorite. It's so full of amazing flavor and goes well with the baked pies. The mushroom cheese called solo ketze was also very good. I usually don't eat meat but the chicken on the hot plate was not bad and pretty tender. The meat dumpling was too meaty for me.
This was an awesome place for authentic Georgian food in the Brighton Beach area. Just a word of warning though - the dishes are very filling and come out in sizable servings so you will leave very very full. I definitely recommend bringing some friends to share. We started with the megruli which was amazing - a soft fluffy sort of pizza topped with an insane amount of oozing delicious cheese. We also had the kupati, a regional sausage, which was pan fried and had a great flavor. Service was friendly and prices very reasonable. I will return!
The atmosphere at Toné Café is absolutely incredible—definitely the highlight of the visit! It has such a great aesthetic and a cozy vibe that makes you want to stay a while. The food and service were both okay, though nothing particularly stood out. It’s a solid 4-star spot if you're looking for a beautiful place to hang out, even if the menu and speed are just average.
Although I’m Russian, I truly love Georgian cuisine — it’s unique and absolutely worth trying. There’s a small Georgian café near my home, and while I’ve never dined inside, it usually looks decently busy, which I take as a good sign. I always order takeout. The staff is always polite and courteous, which I really appreciate. I’ve bought their bread several times — it’s outstanding, fresh out of the oven. However, it’s always packed in a thin paper bag, making it almost impossible to carry. It’s so hot that you either burn your fingers or struggle to hold it properly. Today, I ordered Adjarian khachapuri to go. As you may know, the egg yolk on top is the key element of this dish — but unfortunately, it spilled all over the box before I got home. That was really disappointing. The khachapuri itself was still delicious — as good as it could be without the yolk — but I do wish the takeout quality matched the dine-in experience more closely. I will definitely continue supporting this place — with just a few improvements to packaging, it could be nearly perfect.
2.11.23 - small restaurant with about 8 four-top tables. The little 'market' next door is connected and any drinks you buy are from there. We ordered the beef khinkali, adjaruli khachapuri, and the Chashushuli. The khinkali is the best bang for the buck, tasty, and filling. The adjaruli khachapuri was nice because the egg added creaminess to the dish, but it was very heavy on the cheese and a little too salty for my palate; the bread was chewy and warm. We had the lamb chashushuli which was, unfortunately, a little dry and oddly lacked flavor and I'm someone who doesn't use salt in anything I cook for myself (for others I use salt). Overall it was a good experience and we left full with leftovers to take home. The cost was moderate and the service was generally good when considering how there's just one person running the floor. It's too out of the way for us so we won't be coming back, but we're very happy we tried this spot.
