Great Belgian style beers, friendly staff, clean space. Bonus brewery cat.

My wife and I have been visiting this brewery since their Long Island City days back in 2015–2016, and from our very first visit, we were impressed by the exceptional quality of their ales. This isn’t your typical brewery serving IPAs, sours, or lagers—instead, they specialize in outstanding ales, some of the finest I’ve ever tasted thanks to their craftsmanship and attention to quality. The Brooklyn Navy Yard location is a bit more polished than the original Long Island City spot, which had a certain charm with its rustic, industrial vibe. Still, the new location offers a great setting, whether you prefer to enjoy a relaxed drink indoors or savor a beer outdoors in a laid-back atmosphere.

Amazing beers, their triple is like the Belgian originals! And the owners are legit, really into their business. Go check out

Had a great time at Transmitter Brewing. Getting there from Midtown was a breeze—the ferry ride was under 20 minutes, and it’s less than a five-minute walk from the landing to the brewery. The space is relaxed and welcoming, and the beer was excellent. They offer sampler flights so you can try several different styles—everything I tasted was solid. The staff were friendly and happy to make recommendations. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.

Discovered this taproom by accident after missing the ferry and am meaning to go back to try more of the range of beers. The space was great very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and perfect to enjoy a chat with friends over a few quiet beers.

The place is great. The quality of the beer is absolutely topnotch. The outside seating was pretty cool.

Best brewery we have found in Brooklyn (in a year of looking!). Great variety, food choices in the hall, and even a Manhattan view from their great patio.

Beer lovers must try. Located in Brooklyn Navy Yards building 77. They have outdoor patio where you can sit and enjoy the view and vibe. They also sell to-go cans and bottles. Really like their sour beers!

I used the ferry to visit my friend in brooklyn and we stopped at this location in the brooklyn navy yard. As of summer 2021 there dont appear to be a ton of open stores inside, but thats a shame because what is open is great. It feels like a secret. This bar has so much space, indoors and outdoors, and there werent as many people there as i wouldve thought. Maybe it picks up at night, i wouldnt know, but the guy brews his own beer on location. Its big. Its clean. I think if the other shops open up this bar is prime time bc of its outdoor seating. Feels like an obvious combo

The BDG1 Buckwheat was malty and refreshing. The S10 Spruce Tip Saison has a nice citrus, herbal taste and aroma. Their location in the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard makes this place must in any traveler's list. By the way the pilsner is also a solid choice.

New home of the LIC-born brewery known for their saisons and farmhouse ales. With the bigger space comes a proper tasting room. 14 beers on tap served in 8 and 14oz glasses. The average price for a large pour is $7. Some cans and bottles are available to go. Plenty of seats both at the bar and at the bigger communal tables. Make sure to say hi to the brewery dog.

These guys know beer. Rob was super helpful in guiding us around their offerings. L1 is a super solid pilsner and if you're a fan of Brett style you're going to live F0. Finished things off with an S3 saison that left me wanting more.

Pros: wide variety of beers, free tastings before you buy, cool atmosphere. Cons: not many but in the summer it’s hot. But I guess drink the beer to cool you down. When you first go there it might think you’re lost cause it’s off the beaten path. 😅

Great little brewery nestled underneath the Pulaski bridge. Tasty brews.

I straight up love this place. The first time I came by a few years ago, they were to-go only, but now you can actually post up and drink your beer. Intimate brewery space, the clientele are polite and well-behaved, and Rob, Tanya, and Anthony are super affable and generous. My only worry is that this place will continue to blow up (see Other Half Brewing) and you won't be able to even stand in there anymore. The beers are fantastic, rustic European ales. I like the balance between trusted beers like golden ales and more exotic things like saisons made with grape must. They take interesting risks but also stick to tried an true classics.

Interesting experience. Not a standard taproom. Instead you get some free tastings from 3 of their offerings then can buy bottles to drink in their modest drinking area or take home with you. Their funky beer offerings are pretty strong. They have a solid pilsner and (if they still have it) a pomegranate sour that is worth trying. Nearby to other breweries in the area, so a great addition to a bike and brew circuit. Cycling Cicerone approved.

A chill brewery with a few tables inside & some more out the back. Get a few sample pours from the bottled up front, then buy a bottle or two. If you don't finish before you leave they'll re-cork the bottles before you leave.

Nice staff, not my type of beer. No IPA’s! Belgian style beer. Cool location in Brooklyn Navy Yard.

My wife and I love the idea of this place, and it’s such a cool space, but the last three times we’ve been here, the bartenders have been oddly rude, even to the point of turning us away before closing time (before we could even really interact with them!)… If you are the owner of this establishment and you are not one of the rude bartenders, then your people are doing you wrong! Sadly, we’ll probably just bypass this place and go to King’s Country Distillery in future visits to the Navy Yard area.
