This has to be my favourite coffee chain in NYC so far! I’ve only been to this location and the one in the financial district, but so far every visit has been incredible! The staff are always friendly, there is plenty of seating, wifi to work on my laptop, and the coffee is just great! Also I have to mention how refreshing it is to find $3 brewed coffee in this city! I try to test out other cafes but for me, this is my old reliable!

I usually stop here during the morning rush on weekdays, and I’ve always had a positive experience. The girls provide great customer service and fast service.

Variety Coffee Roasters in Bushwick is a solid choice for serious coffee drinkers and remote workers. As a local roastery, the coffee quality is consistently excellent—fresh, clean, and expertly prepared, regardless of the drink you order. The space is large, bright, and highly functional, providing ample seating and fast Wi-Fi for working, though the minimalist, industrial aesthetic can feel a bit cool. Service is professional and quick, focusing on efficiency, which means interactions can feel slightly transactional during busy periods. Overall, if you need dependable, high-quality coffee and a great workspace, Variety reliably delivers

Definitely the neighborhood’s favorite coffee spot! It’s always busy, which says a lot. The coffee is consistently great, and the vibe is perfect — relaxed, warm, and full of friendly faces. The baristas are super nice and always remember your order, and they make every visit feel personal. Their pastries are fresh and go perfectly with the coffee. It’s the kind of place you just want to come back to again and again.

My go to spot for coffee especially on my way to Manhattan or just preparing for a day of running errands locally. Love the staff, they are literally why I am a return customer every week

This is, embarrassingly, maybe the first café review I’ve written where I wasn’t on a date. Just me. My iced coffee. And my new approach to love: a roster. I’m done with the flash in the pan. Long live the slow burn. And having backups. Which brings me to Variety, which is one of a handful of coffee spots in this city that isn’t riding on vibes alone. The beans are seasonal. The roast is daily. The baristas look like they’re not actively planning to quit. You can taste it. In the brightness of the espresso. In the steady, no-bullshit counter service. In the fact that I left with caffeine and clarity. Listen, I stan New York and I’ll always cape for her. But our coffee scene lags embarrassingly behind other capitals. Variety doesn’t. And that alone is enough to make me come back again and again, with or without a prospective love interest.

T/3spresso is so bright & luxurious! Optimal crema in t/porcelain serving of a dopio exquisite! T/coffee is top notch & t/tulsi bears are kept in stock for maximum coffee break dipping enjoyment. Super mellow & refreshing. So good thank you nice barrista lady👍✅🫶🏻

Good prices for the neighborhood. More—and more comfortable—seating than average. I had a very good Americano and a mediocre chocolate croissant, but it was only $3. I’d be here more often if I were closer

Gorgeous space with tons of room to get work done, free Wifi, and reasonable prices. People are friendly and relaxed. Has the atmosphere of a cuter WeWork. Baristas are all amicable and kind.

My favorite spot in my neighborhood to grab a coffee and do some work. It’s a great space with lots of tables that are close to electric outlets (a must when working remotely). It’s some of the best espresso in Bushwick!

I’m visiting from Florida and Variety is the only coffee shop open on Christmas morning (which I really appreciate!) got a cold brew, dirty chai, cardamom croissant, ham and cheese croissant and a blueberry muffin. Everything was fantastic!

Definitively a good and peace place to go. For me, I found this place from my Airbnb host’s recommendation during my week stay around NYC and Brooklyn. Pretty busy during the morning on weekdays. And if you need to stay for work, be prepared to arrive early even though there are enough spots for people.

LOCATION ✔️ AMBIANCE✔️ STAFF ✔️ COFFEE ✔️ RESTROOM ✔️ TABLES ✔️ VEGAN CHOICES ✔️ Excellent cafe in central Bushwick location, with excellent staff, great coffee, and nice big space, with plenty of tables and lovely clientele. My friend and I were there VERY early And table was easy to find! Nice service counter with available water fountain and glasses provided. Nice spot.

Variety Coffee is one of the best local roasters out of Brooklyn. Im usually grabbing my beverage "to go", but decided to soak up the chill atmosphere the day after Christmas. The cafe is usually bustling and there is rarely never a place to sit. But on this day, I sat next to their lovely tree and took in the subtle pine scent. Their coffee is super flavorful, which makes a delicious oat milk latte. Their pastries are by far some of the best in the area, especially the muffins. My fav is the blueberry, pumpkin, cranberry -- super moist and tasty. The space is reminiscent of what I'd imagine an old apothecary shop to be -- warm wood bar and brick walls give the space a cozy, welcoming feel. Staff is friendly and ready to make you the best drink! Glad I took a moment to sit and take it all in today.

Amazing! We went every day during our stay in Brooklyn and the coffee was great every time. I had cappuccinos and flat whites, both of which were great and the pastries too are very good, coupled with friendly baristas making this a fabulous coffee stop. I highly recommend coming here!

Cute spot to work at, drinks are decent and staff is always pleasant. I enjoy the outdoor seating, hate that people who don’t order from here sit there sometimes but that’s not the stores fault. Gluten free cookie available that was practically inedible but I appreciate it being an option (maybe it was stale cause I came later in the day, might try it again on a morning). Regular pastries are really good according to my non celiac friends

I really liked this old cozy cafe. Here you can drink a glass of delicious latte and sit at a laptop at a small table. There was no tea on the menu😳. Sometimes you want to drink tea with milk🙂. 4 stars. I recommend!

Really cool place with good coffee and good Pastries! Can definitely recommend the pumpkin vegan cake, so good. We were staying in the area and as we really enjoyed the place, we came back 3 days in a row. Would have give 5 stars if staff was more friendly

This place is amazing, and the staff is always so nice. But the music they play can sometimes be *SO* weird and random and such a vibe killer sometimes. It can also get a bit too loud as well, making it harder to have conversations with friends. I wish they'd play something more mellow that enhances its already chill vibe, like LoFi music or some dream pop like Cigarettes After Sex, The Marias, Slow Joy, Humbe, or Conan Gray. Besides the music, it's a solid spot and always my go-to.

Good location, spacious store, and nice staff. I appreciate Variety coffee still keeps the decent price for coffee. Generally the music is bit too loud. Often times, tables are occupied by people with their laptops so it’s hard to have a seat in the afternoon.

The decaf espresso I ordered was extremely bitter and the chocolate chip cookie was average at best but overall the atmosphere here is on point with a vibe of a laid back cafe, one where you'd go to to study or handle some work.

So, I love supporting local shops and what not, but I came to order a toasted croissant, and the chick behind the counter waited until after I paid to let me know they dont have a toaster or microwave or anything. The croissant tasted stale and is not soft whatsoever. I noticed they sell ham and cheese croissants as well and wondered how they warm them up meat and dairy products with no warming device. Definitely will not be coming back. I'd rather sell my soul to Starbucks then support this amateur coffee shop.
