Allen Street Hardware Buffalo Reviews
Great place - neighborhood bar/ great food - very friendly owners/staff. We found it in "restaurants near Kleinhan's Music Hall" before we saw the Allman Betts Band - perfect place to get a burger or impossible burger before the show!
Stopped in on a Tuesday evening. Had a great meal. The corn chowder was superb. The chef made a special strawberry and feta salad for me. Husband had a burger that was delicious. We have had Cosmopolitans at many Buffalo bars, and these were some of the best. We were happy to meet Tony. He has been a customer at our business and we were happy to enjoy a meal at his business.
Update: I've had food and drinks here now!! The truffle ketchup they serve with their perfectly cooked shoestring fries is amazing!! The wings are decent (Not the best in Buffalo, but not bad.) I really like their chicken sandwich too. The bartenders here are awesome, super great service. Very cool space, I was there for an improv workshop. I did not get to try food or drinks yet, but I'm hoping to head back soon. The building itself is super cool. And they're supporting improv in Buffalo which is fantastic.
A gem in this diverse, eclectic neighborhood. Friendly locals and good food - excellent spot for a post-Nietzsche’s show drink.
Great spot to grab a drink. Super friendly staff!! Bartender was the man, very welcoming.
Love this place!! Never disappointed. Our favorite night is Monday. Great deal on wings that are always perfectly cooked and sauced. Staff is always friendly and welcoming- Dan, Luke, Rob and Gary. Stop in a try the wings and one of the best chicken sammies around.
Hosted a party for 40 people in their back room and they were so lovely and easy to coordinate with! Tony was amazing in the booking process and worked with us to create a delicious vegetarian menu and our bartender Edie was amazing. Highly recommend for a private party (max 50ish people probably).
My night continues (see previous review at “The Old Pink “ for dinner and start of my night) and leads me here to The hardware (another favorite of my OG Buffalo boyfriend). The bartender Garry was one of the most kind hearted man I have met. The drinks were great and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I’d call it cozy and comfortable. This bar was warm and inviting. It wasn’t overly crowded and kept the energy up without being too in your face. Thank you Garry! And Tony was also awesome. He knew the area in and out. Go Tony and Garry!! Also, I have a habit of asking someone to tell me a random fact- about them or anyone else, and I was told to mention Lorenzo. I’ve been told he is an amazing person who deserves kindness and joy. I wish Garry and Lorenzo and Toby an amazing and happy life and I hope to see them soon. Tip them well and enjoy the company of them and amazing people surrounding them.
Have been here two times and really enjoyed my experience. The bartenders are professional and very personable and made me feel comfortable. Have tried the burger, crab cakes and blackened salmon. Wasn’t expecting anything amazing, but I was wrong. Seriously excellent food and absolutely plan on returning. Friendly atmosphere and nice place to grab a drink and food. Highly recommend.
Great food! I had the buttermilk batter fried chicken sandwich and my husband had the NY strip steak sandwich. Delicious! And the hand cut french fries are my favorite! My husband said he'll definitely have the steak sandwich again next time we go. The hostess and servers are very friendly and helpful. Be sure to say hi to Gary serving up the drinks!
Chill vibe, in eclectic neighborhood. The Jamaican Jerk chicken wings were delicious. The fries were a little too salty, but the sauces were tasty. The owner was very accommodating and attentive.
Really cute little pub with an awesome setting. Small menu with some tasty treats that you would expect only in the US, such as a friend bologna sandwich. But the prices are all super fair and they serve up a ton of local brews and cocktails. Located in an awesome part of Buffalo in Allen Town, this is one of the spots we like to visit when we are in the area. Great for locals and tourists alike.
Great drinks, but I didn't get to try the food. Had a great time with my party here. Managed to lose my ring in one of the floor vents, and one of the employees was AMAZING and opened it up to fish it out for me! Appreciated so, so much. Would love to come back and try the food (and not lose my ring again).
Ha ha. Great little place for some late night drinks. Always something interesting happening. Goes til late. Well past my bedtime. Owner was a nice guy as were both bartenders we met.
The entire place smells of toilet water and bathroom. Music was great but couldn’t get past the smell
The short dark skin security guard that work saturday nights is so disrespectful. He try to get with all the women that come into the bar to the point it feel like harassment and when you reject his advances he get very disrespectful call women out their name and can be very aggressive. He is very unprofessional and i will never come back to thus place because of him.
Came in on a Friday night. Bouncers were extremely rude to my girlfriend and I. Started asking us unnecessary questions (like “how much have you had to drink”…are you the police? Never been asked that upon entering a bar). ended up leaving after 1 drink. Won’t be back.
Whatever you do, DO NOT use the atm on the side of the building. The card slot is literally hallowed out and is likely a scam.
As others have said - CHECK YOUR RECEIPT AND BANK STATEMENT after visiting. Went there with a group of friends, bought 1 round of drinks for 6 people, paid for them with my credit card (I did not open a tab), we drank the drinks and left. I left a cash tip but kept my receipt. Checked my credit card statement - I have 2 separate charges from this bar (one charge was the round I paid for and the second charge was not authorized by me and I have no idea what it was for). Tried calling the bar to speak to a manager about it - no answer. Went there in person and was told that it was a hold on my card - which I argued as no bar I have ever been to and bought a single round of drinks at has charged a hold on my card. As of today the pending transaction when through and it was not a hold and in fact is 100% a separate unauthorized charge. Currently disputing the charge through my credit card company since no staff or manager seems to be willing/able to help. Oddly enough, just before writing this review a 3rd random charge came through on my credit card from this bar. I don't recommend going to this bar but if you do, don't use a credit card and keep your receipts!
