Liberty Hound Buffalo Reviews
Parmed was so insanely good! The food was incredible, I would recommend the butternut squash ravioli and the parmed garlic knots. Drinks were lovely and the employees were so kind. I’ve recommended this place to all of my friends and hope they bring it back yearly!
Had such a fantastic date night at Liberty Hound! The weather was perfect, so we sat outside on the patio with an amazing view of the Naval ships, such a unique backdrop for dinner. We started with the Buffalo shrimp, which were crispy and had just the right kick. While waiting on our meals, we got an unexpected treat: a beer sampling from Big Ditch Brewing. Free sips of local craft beer? Yes, please! I went with the chicken tacos special, topped with fresh cilantro, radish, and jalapeño...delicious and balanced with just the right amount of heat. My date had the fish sandwich, which was equally tasty. I paired my meal with a white sangria (they were out of red, but the white was crisp and refreshing). The food and atmosphere were excellent, but what really made it special was how it flowed right into a sunset stroll along the waterfront...such a perfect way to end the evening. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, a laid-back yet romantic vibe, and one of the best patio views in Buffalo.
After touring the ships in the naval park on a hot day, we chose this place for convenience sake, but ended up enjoying it so much we want to come back. The food we ordered was very good. I'm going to skip the cocktail next time because it was weak. Our waitress was very nice and attentive.
Absolutely stunning views from the patio. Naval and military park right next door is beautiful and very moving. The food was spot on. Our server was great, and while I don't recall his name, he nailed everything. By the way, the calamari is frozen, not fresh, because we asked. Great place. A must when visiting Buffalo.
This place was amazing! From the hostess to the bartenders, everyone had a great vibe and made the place a lot of fun. Food was amazing. Phil the bartender was a lot of fun and definitely knows his stuff. Ended up running into some locals at the bar who were a lot of fun! Definitely a place to hit when in Buffalo!
Date of visit. Sun Aug 6th Beautiful summer days in Buffalo are best spent on the waterfront. Canalside is an amazing place to spend some time. While we usually find wayerfront restaurants to be bland, boring, and too touristy because their location and views are the draw, this is not the case with Liberty Hound. It has all of the beauty you hope for, but they also k ock it out of the park with the food. We started with the Ahi Tuna nachos, because it was something you dont see very often. The nacho chips are clearly made fresh to order, and the tuna was perfectly done. For our meals, we had the carribean rice bowl with blackened grouper; The shrimp po boy; and the fish & chips. The meals at Liberty hound are nothing short of elevated casual dining. Its not pretentious or expensuve, just good meals well prepared using quality and different ingredients. I didnt expect to be wowed by the shrimp po boy but this was the kind of po boy that authentic cajuns would love. We enjoyed sitting on their patio - which was worth the little wait we had, as we looked out on the water enjoying watching people, the gulls, and taking in the view. The service at liberty hound was exceptional. The food top notch. The only complaint I had was that the Fish in the fish & chips was a little overcooked. otherwise great. And canalside is always a joy to explore when you visit buffalo.
Got together with some friends and went here for dinner. It's mostly a seafood menu, however there are a few non seafood dishes to choose from. I went with the pork chop and grilled asparagus, and it was delicious. The food was great, the service was great, the atmosphere is really cool, it's located in a great spot... just look for the battleships.
First time visiting and loved the atmosphere outside looking at he water. It was easy to sit and talk with the other people in our party. Smaller menu, but very good food. Fresh seafood and large portion of fish and chips! Shrimp were large and juicy, but not tough. Expect parking to be difficult and add extra time before you arrive.
Overall, we were pleased. It was a Sunday evening and it was packed. We came on a boat and had a 45-60min wait. Our table wasn't called untill 1½hrs later. The food was good but our table of 6 was crowded and the bar and restaurant itself were, too. We left satisfied and full, though!
Went with a group and overall we all enjoyed the atmosphere and food (one person didn't care for her fish and they took it off her check). I had the Liberty Burger and it was delicious! Came with bacon and cheese so that's always a winning combo. The fries were great as well. The biggest disappointment was my cocktail. I got the hurricane and like others in my party who ordered it was not happy with how weak it was. It tasted like there was little to no alcohol in the drink. It tastes like a mixed fruit juice, but no booze. I'd go back, but stay away from the cocktails next time.
It right on the water front and next to the USS Sullivans. Great food, friendly service. People with mobility issues should be aware that the outside tables and chairs are quite high and very uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time. Mom really enjoyed her Blue Hawaiian cocktail. There is no parking. You need to find street parking nearby and pay at a parking station and then walk to the restaurant.
While this was not a meal we were unable to enjoy, so much of our order was wrong and the service dragged. This pop up was conveniently located near a great many attractions and we were able to walk right in and have a seat. But if we were local we wouldn’t rush back.
