Polish Villa Buffalo Reviews
We stopped here while visiting Buffalo and the food here was incredible. I’m from a Polish family myself and the food is authentic. The pierogi was delicious, the sauerkraut was phenomenal, and the kluski noodles were fresh and delicious! The service was great and all of the staff and patrons were super friendly! Highly recommend!
Fish fry was delicious. Stephanie went out of her way take sure everything was right even though it was very busy
Polish Villa is the real deal. I've been going here since I was a kid and my Grandmother used to bring us to the Villa and the food, decor, and service bring me back to those times. Eating at the Polish Villa is like getting a hug from my Grandma and being told that everything will be all right and that I did something well. The food is great. Get there and eat!
Best place for breakfast. Great food, atmosphere and service.
Food was delicious, service was excellent thanks to Stephanie. She was cheerful, helpful and polite while working a busy lunch hour. Kudos to Stephanie!
A nice restaurant which has a wide variety of Polish dishes, the service is 100/10 and they make you feel so comfortable with their attention and hospitality, it was my first time enjoying Polish food and everything was very delicious. This place should be known by everyone in Buffalo and want to visit Buffalo.
I'm not Polish, but the food was wonderful! Menu was not overwhelming and everyone at the table loved their meals! Will definitely recommend!
Great breakfast, great service. Have the crepes. Dawn was an outstanding server.
I ordered a Togo potato pancakes and pierogi was absolutely delicious always a stop when. Im in town.
Wonderful, authentic Polish food in a warm comfortable setting with Great service… What’s not to love about that!
A buffalo institution ! Been here. More 3 decades and still going strong ! Great ethnic food served in large portions. Might want to check the cabbage roll might need a bit more binding and tomato- this past trip meat seemed to fall apart and was a watery gravy accompaniment . Pierogi cheese could be a bit more on the dry side - was wet verses the way gram used to put it together 👍 overall great place to get some good polish food !
First time there! Everything was delicious!! Will definitely be back! Our server Dawn was the best !!
Czarnina was very good, but way to much pepper. Potato pancakes excellent, farmers cheese pierogi excellent, fresh kielbasa excellent
The food, the atmosphere and everything!! You can’t beat this - the food and value. Unbelievable ❤️❤️
Deanna was our Waitress!! She Is An Amazing Server !! I Will Only Request Deanna As Our Waitress For Dining In !! 10 Stars If I Could For Her Amazing Service!!
5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 **Thank you, Polish Villa – from the bottom of my heart** I want to thank the wonderful staff at Polish Villa on Union Road in Cheektowaga for providing an absolutely delicious and comforting meal for my family after my mother’s wake. With just 24 hours' notice, they came through for us during such a difficult time. The food was hot, fresh, and full of flavor—just like home. Everything was beautifully prepared with care. My family and I were truly touched by how well they treated us and how smoothly everything went, especially on such short notice. You made a hard day a little easier, and for that, I will always be grateful. Thank you for feeding not just our stomachs, but our hearts too. — Sherry Nikel & Family
Food was very good very reasonable prices especially in todays day and age of high prices and poor service and very little food for your money. Polish Villa does not disappoint large portions very good quality food. Service was a little slow but only 2 waitresses and place is always crowded.due to the great food and very reasonable prices. The atmosphere is very casual relaxed. Staff friendly but very busy. Parking is adequate with plenty of parking spaces. This is a nice local favorite that I highly recommend
Dawn was our server, she was wonderful. The food was excellent. Definitely would go back if we are in the area again
Me & my polish family have been coming here for as long as I can remember. Always friendly and delicious!
Excellent food and service. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
If a genie gave me three wishes, one of my wishes would be to have this food every single day for the rest of my life
Always get a great home made meal here. I had the lunch size, beer battered fish with potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw,& also German potato & rye bread. It was 8.95 and also took some home for leftovers. My wife had Lazy Pierogi and a garden salad that was on special also for 8.95 & brought some home as well. We had enough for dinner for both of us as we got an order of smoked polish sausage to bring back to Jamestown with us. Now tomorrow I'll finish my fish for lunch. That's 5 meals for $30. Cant beat that with a stick. We also had 2 drinks there(coffee,& my wife had a pop.)We eat there every time we are in Buffalo on a Friday. I highly recomend
Wait staff very busy. One particular waitress went way beyond out of her way to accommodate us. Her name is Eden. She is a strong asset to your restaurant
We decided to try the Polish Villa while on vacation in Buffalo. The meal was delicious, but the service was even better. Our server, Dawn, was amazing! We left full and happy!
Stephanie was an excellent waitress. Very attentive and affable. Food is excellent as always. Best place to dine!
Very good food and atmosphere. I got the czarnina and some golabki. Our waitress Dawn was great!
Best roast beef sandwich ever! The pierogis were fantastic! Our server Dawn was super attentive and helped us navigate the wonderful menu.
Food is freshly cooked by people who care about it. Fantastic tasting Polish dishes reasonably priced!
Dawn is a GEM. On top of everything and she has a great personality. This place is always delicious.
Food was delectable. Environment is beautiful, cozy, and a nice vibe. I will definitely be coming back!
I have been going here for over 40 years and the food is still amazing. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is as friendly as can be.
Be prepared to eat. All food outstanding. Great portions great pricing. Excellent fish fry. If you're lucky Laura will be your server. Great service and fun to talk to
If you want a taste of home this is the place! All the waitresses and waiters were some of the nicest and most intentive people I’ve ever met! The food was amazing and authentic, very clean dining room and smiles from wall to wall! Dawn was awesome as are server and I will 1000% be coming back for the food and to visit her! Thank you for this amazing experience, it is just as good as when I was a child!
Flew in from Tallahassee, flight was delayed. Plan was for Polish Villa dinner as we have our Polish Exchange student with us. Because of the flight delay, I didn't think we'd be able to eat there, but I took a chance. Pulled into the parking lot at 10 minutes till closing. I really didn't want to be "that guy", asking the staff to be there beyond closing, and I said as much to the hostess. They were incredibly gracious and friendly. One of the staff even came over and conversed with our exchange student in Polish. The food was amazing and the staff was soon friendly as only Buffalonians are. This is my hometown, and the staff at Polish Villa proved my pride in Buffalo in the eyes of our exchange student. Thank you.
My family and I have been coming here my entire life for every holiday and celebration and we absolutely love it! The crepes and potato pancakes are our favorite. Dawn is the best server and we always get her too!
Our server, Dawn, was extremely helpful and pleasant. The pierogi was delicious and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the golabek plate. We left, stuffed and happy!
Fantastic food. Huge portions and great prices. Service is friendly and attentive. Dawn was great.
We had a party of 12 for lunch recently with Dawn as our server. Our entire group raved about the food and the wonderful and entertaining service. They all commented on how large the portions were. Good job to all.
My son took be here on a trip to visit him. Dawn was our server and was she great! She recommended the special and it was fantastic! The portions were big so we couldn't finish it all but man oh man did we enjoy it all! I will be back!!!
Can't go wrong with this place. There's not a bad dish on the menu. Fast friendly service, amazing authentic Polish food, reasonable prices.
The pierogi platter is amazing! The farmers cheese is my favorite. The staff is so friendly, they always treat everyone like an old friend they haven't seen in a while. Its a beautiful atmosphere with incredible decor and you can't go wrong with Polish music playing in the background. You definitely get your moneys worth the pierogis are huge, you'll definitely have leftovers.
Stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a main dish that included a potato pancake, a large cabbage roll in tomato sauce, and a side of sweet braised cabbage. Everything was delicious and well-balanced. The potato pancakes were finely grated, giving them that perfect classic flavor — especially good with the sour cream sauce. The cabbage roll was juicy, and the cabbage itself was tender and slightly sweet — cooked to perfection. Before the meal, they served two slices of bread with butter — the butter was rich and flavorful. For dessert, I had three cheese-filled crepes (nalysnyky) — huge, creamy, and served with a refreshing lemon sauce. I could only finish one and took the rest to go. The service was quick and attentive, the food was fresh, and presentation neat. The total bill came to $34 — a great value for such quality. I’ll definitely be back!
We had a great meal, everything was hot and fresh. I LOVED the fresh kielbasa! The sauerkraut was divine! Wish I could go back to Polish Villa daily!! It was that good! There were 5 adults in our party and we all raved about the great food and 2 of the 5 grew up with their mom's authentic Polish food!
Took my parents for dinner recently. This was their first time at Polish Villa. What a great experience - great food and service! Dawn, our server, was fantastic and any of the staff we interacted with were great! We will be back again.
Hard to express how awesome and well done the food is here. First, the service was impeccable with the 2 sweet ladies giving their best hospitality! The perogies are lights out! So is the potato pancake. Had the Roast Chicken special. It was done perfect. Nice mild Kraut; full of flavor. Great ambiance with polka pleasantly playing in the background. FAIR prices also. If I lived here, I'd be eating at this place 5 days a week! Keep it up Polish Villa!
We were in Buffalo for the weekend and knew we had to get Polish food, and the Polish Villa turned out to be the perfect place to do so! We went for lunch on Saturday and there was plenty of seating. We ordered a pierogi plate and a breaded pork chop plate. The re are three pierogi options: cheese, sauerkraut, and meat for an additional $0.35 charge We got the sauerkraut pierogi, which was tangy and tasty, but the meat pierogi was truly the star of that dish. It was served with a mushroom sauce that complimented the comfortable savory flavor of the meat filling. The breaded pork chop was almost fork-tender and had a pleasant savory flavor. Both plates came with a vegetable and potato option. We opted for the potato pancakes. I wholeheartedly recommend getting the sweet and sour cabbage as your vegetable option, since it goes well with everything! We didn't quite have room for dessert 😅
Best Polish food ever. Just like grandma used to make! Polish Villa is good as or better than some restaurants I went to in Krakow Poland. I usually come in with my service dog 🐕🦺 and have never had any issues. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I drive 1 hour to eat here. It's definitely worth the drive.
Galumpkis were flavorful, tender, and delicious. The breaded pork chop was huge and cooked perfectly. Cabbage is super tasty. The blood soup was on point. The only complaint I have is that the potato pancakes were not what I'm used to, heavy on the pancake and light on the potato. Really enjoyed the food and experience and will be back.
The entire staff was extremely friendly! They are clearly very busy and short on staff, but that didn’t stop them from providing great service with a smile. The food was delicious and the vibe inside was cool. They don’t serve alcohol, but that’s okay! The meat and mushroom sauce pierogis are a must! We were unsure if we’d like the soup (blood & beef base, cinnamon and raisin) and they offered to let us both taste test it. We ended up both loving it! Thanks for a fun experience 😊
Very relaxed atmosphere in a authentic polish setting. Food made from scratch and every bit delicious. Pierogis are large and fully stuffed. Farmer's cheese pictured, enjoyed a sauerkraut pierogi as well. Potato cake, warm sauerkraut, and a cabbage roll. All delicious and served hot. Fresh rye bread and butter accompanies the meal. Sides of applesauce and sour cream for the pierogies. Ended with a REAL banana cream pie. House made flaky crust. Staff is overtly helpful and friendly. Prices reasonable. Very nice stop!
Food is good, a bit overpriced for standard Polish fare.
Great service friendly family atmosphere. Yummy food.
Great spot for classic Polish comfort food! The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere has that cozy, old-school charm, and the staff is friendly and attentive.
I'm a Chicago girl who now lives in Indiana where there is no Polish food. When traveling through Buffalo, I knew I had to try to find a Polish place. This seemed like the best option for the location we were and the time (we had a late dinner). It was great, although not the best Polish food I've ever had. Pierogi and golabek were great, potato pancake was bland. It was more money than I like to spend, but sometimes you pay for the uniqueness/ experience.
Drove up to CheektaVegas to try Phams Kitchen that is located next door to Polish Villa but Phams had way to many customers waiting, so we decided to try this establishment. We ordered the beef barley soup, loaded potato pierogies & the crab stuffed mushrooms. First I will say the ladies waiting tables there are their biggest asset! Kind, attentive, quick and always smiling! Very very nice ladies working there.. Now for what we ordered. We didn't try a lot though as the food is very filling & we're always watching our budget to finance getting the heck out of WNY as much as we can because the weather always sucks..but anyways. The loaded potato pierogies were fantastic! And at 2 for $9.99 was not a bad deal at all!! Very filling, lots of bacon & sautéed onions with sour cream & cheddar..Very very tasty. I definitely could have eaten a bunch of them just because they were so good but I wouldn't have been able to move if I did! Haha..the beef barley soup was decent but did not have one smidgen of beef in it, which I found sad but it was still very filling & good compared to what most restaurants charge for a bowl of soup. The crab stuffed mushrooms were tasty too but it seemed like imitation crab & not real blue crab or anything like that but still worth the cost i feel.. Couldn't see soending the $35 on a entree($28 + tip & tax) because we were already pretty full on the small dishes we got and i thought $28 was just too much for most of the entrees ingredients. Overall it's a decent place & worth a try & it's a nice little location which opened in 1976 or 78' i believe. We will probably stop back in for breakfast next time we are in the area but it is hard to beat Kostas quality/value one of my favorite casual spots! Thanks again ladies for being wonderful servers!!
It was an extremely busy lunch rush for the 2 Ladies running it. When I say busy I mean 95% of the tables were full and there was a large party of a mom that doesn't parent at all, a grandma obsessed only with the newest grand baby, and many extremely unruly badly behaved children running the poor waitress ragged. The manager and waitress still kept up with everything even with screaming running kids demanding a million things at a time. The kitchen kept up even though they were beyond slammed. The 2 women were seating, serving, and clearing tables very efficiently. The Polish sampler platter was absolutely amazing, the best he's ever had. He's still ranting and raving about it being mind blowing a week later. I have a mild onion allergy and the 2 Ladies worked with me on specially designing my own dish with the least onions. The gravy was so delicious we absolutely loved it. Their house made noodles were seriously perfect, like Grandma used to make. The kitchen made a little mess up on the roast beef on my dish because they were so busy. The Ladies fixed the situation for me and we're happy. The bread was so soft and flavorful, we could eat a whole loaf haha. We were so impressed and we'll make the drive from Chautauqua Lake again sometime soon!
Staff was friendly. Place was cozy. Food was top notch. The pierogi's were huge! The cheese, meat and potato were all good! Their chicken fingers were good but had a different type of breading than most Buffalo area restaurants. The rye bread was delicious! Their fries were good as well but I personally didn't care for the type of breading/seasoning they had. Would definitely eat here again.
I always loved the Polish Villa 2 on Harlem. Since that is closed I recently went to the one on Union. The food was good, huge portions and homemade. I was very surprised that there was no wine or beer. They do not serve any alcohol. The waitress said you can bring your own LOL. Kind of disappointing since I enjoy a glass of wine when I go out to eat. I know the Harlem Road restaurant served alcohol. Something to keep in mind if you like a wine or beer when you go out.
Traditional Polish Comfort Food with Great Service Review: On a business trip in Buffalo, I was looking for something unique and stumbled upon Polish Villa, a traditional Polish mom-and-pop spot. The restaurant isn’t flashy, but it was bustling with locals even on a Thursday night, which felt like a good sign. The server was friendly and helpful, offering suggestions for a first-timer like me. I went with her recommendation, the Polish platter, which included a hearty spread: one golabek, one kielbasa with onions and sauerkraut, two pierogi, a potato pancake, and a bowl of soup. The soup was a nice surprise—different but delicious. The meal came out simply plated, not fancy, but everything tasted fresh and comforting. The pierogi were my favorite, and the kielbasa was flavorful. The golabek was good, though I wasn’t a huge fan of their sauce. Overall, it was a solid, authentic Polish meal with attentive service. A good spot to try traditional dishes, though I probably wouldn’t go back again.
The food was ok. It was not quite authentic Polish food. The servers were very friendly. We did wait for an hour plus but it was during dinner hours. The place felt like a "little hole in the wall". I do like those places so I was ok with it. Prices were good as well.
WTH? My lunch companion and I ordered identical lunches, yet our receipts were for different dollar amounts. We ordered czarnina. Our confused waitress delivered our entree without ever bring our soup. When alerted to this, she offered to put our soup into take out containers to take home. Well, um no. I told her I wanted my soup now. It was delicious as usual. As I finished my entrée, I mentioned that I expected to have received rye bread and butter. We never got anyway. She said "That's because I bring it when I bring the soup". Our waitress was pleasant and fun, but should consider a different line of work. I've NEVER had a problem with service before. There were only 4 tables with customers so the restaurant wasn't busy. And the men's bathroom was disgustingly filthy. The floor hadn't been cleaned in years.
My family made a reservation for 20 for my daughter's first birthday. We called twice the week prior to confirm. The reservation was supposed to include some of Polish Villa's catering menu, prepared family style (so there wouldn't be individual ordering, the restaurant would simply prepare a variety of things for everyone to share). Sadly, while the staff was nice, they were wholly unprepared for our group; they did not even realize there was a large group coming in. Thankfully, we arrived early so they were able to get set up, but this also meant they did not have any family style food prepared for our large group. This made things much more complicated, as you might imagine for twenty people (including small children) ordering food while arriving at different times, but then the food we did order took over an hour to arrive. There were some people who ordered their food first but somehow got their food last (nearly two hours later). Regardless, we did not make a fuss at the establishment, and we tried to make the most of the situation, but I was wholly disappointed in the experience, even before I saw the automatic 20% tip the servers gave themselves. I will not be planning any further events here, and it's not because they sing a different version of Polish Happy Birthday.
I ordered out polish food for the first time in years seeing my family is 100% polish and usually make our own. But I was craving a small polish fest so I ordered one from polish villa remembering it was good, authentic, and fairly priced. Knowing how tedious and lengthy the process it is to make glumpki and pierogi I was ok on the price. That was until I got home to open my food and found a sad tiny piece of dilapidated fresh polish sausage, and a half full soup cup. Talk about medium sized glumpki at best for $9 each. If your gonna charge this much I expected full portions. That was the first disappointing encounter. After starting to eat it I can’t help but think how basic and underwhelming the flavors are. I was so excited for my authentic Polish dinner for $35 and I wish I Just didn’t. They need a babcia to help them get back to good food again. Was so happy ordering and then so dissatisfied I barely got halfway through it where I just Decided to made some chicken nuggets. nie dobrze
Horrible staff, bad wait times, COLD food and wrongfully fired one of their best employees. Won’t go again and would NEVER recommend!
Wish I could rate the breakfast, but after getting our drinks and ordering our food, waited 45 minutes, watching others get their food who ordered after us. Finally asking the waitress, who was ignoring us, being told they were waiting on the potato pancakes, but another table who arrived and ordered after us got potato pancakes, was told they be out in two minutes. Waited five more minutes. Totally disappointed. We left. Probably will NEVER go back. Even left a five to cover a diet cola and a tap water we did receive.
This was once a great place. Nowadays it takes over 40 minutes for food. They bring out your salads and then you have to wait 40 minutes for the rest. They need to shut didn’t phone orders for take out if they can’t handle the guests sitting there spreads. Dining out is not cheap so where you spend your money makes a big difference.
Went there today, Saturday, May 17 had a fish fry ,Beer battered fish fry, which I called to make sure they had ,because usually sometimes on Saturday they don’t have it but they said they did so my aunt and I each ordered one with french fries the salads came out first they were fine. They were delicious. The fish was awful!!! The Skin, there was so much battered skin on it you couldn’t even find the fish. The fish you did find was watery. No taste was disgusting. I used to go there all the time on Fridays. It was excellent. Even the fries were very dry and overdone !!!!! I was very disappointed will not be going back!!
My family and I have been coming here for years and never had a problem. We got take out tonight and first bite I bit into a large hard white piece that resembled a tooth. We obviously lost our appetite after this and didn’t want the food. We called and asked to speak to the manager, we told her we’re bringing our 3 dinners back and wanted the money back, simple fix. She proceeded to tell us she was calling the cops before we arrived. When we got there she would only give us enough money back for 1 dinner and told us she will have the owner call us, which then turned into them not having an owner and the manager will call us. SUCH A SHAME, this used to be one of our go to places just to be treated that way. I would like to add most of the staff was kind and understanding of the situation. Renee was the one to make a small situation into a big deal
Best polish style breakfast. Great service with waitresses going out their way to make you feel comfortable. Polish decor .My go to place for breakfast.
Horrible. Twelve for lunch. The restaurant was not busy. The roast beef was tough and tasteless! One of our 12 did not get her lunch until ALL of us were finished eating. Ridiculous! They should have never had charged her for her lunch! Waitress was clueless as to who ordered what. Many of us had been there before, many of us will NOT return.
