The Delaware Buffalo Reviews
So.. me and a few friends met here for last Bills game (unfortunately). The food was great! I had the classic burger. Jerry the bartender was awesome. We sat at the bar for the entire game . Even though the Bills lost I had a great time with friends and other patrons.
We went here because my son-in-law ate here once and it "stood out" - and after we tried it, I can see why. Tables are well spaced so it doesn't feel like people are sitting on each other but the decor makes it feel cozy. Great bar filled with locals - a good sign - and the wait staff seemed to know them ALL. Food was excellent- tasty mac, maple salmon that looked SOOO well cooked, good fryer, well-seasomed burger. Not too pricey, I expected worse in this day and age. I'll be back soon.
We had a party of 15 people. We came for the Tom and Jerry's. We made reservations and the manager called me to confirm and go over where we would sit. He was very accommodating! We had excellent service and even met another manager or owner. He was very friendly and made sure we were all set. The Tom and Jerry's were amazing and so good! We had a great experience and would highly recommend giving it a try. Some of our party had the meatloaf, Gorgonzola chicken and lots of burgers. They were delicious! Tom Jerry's 10/10!
Pleasant experience. Easy on line reservations. Handicap parking and easy wheelchair access via ramp. Comfortable and clean surroundings. Staff courteous, polite and attentive. Food preparation as ordered, well presented and flavorful. Prices moderate and generous portions. Do not hesitate to recommend and will be a repeat customer..
I grew up in this neighborhood as a child, this restaurant used to be a carvel ice cream shop which kinda brought me back. We were looking for somewhere to have a drink and some app’s. We entered the bar area to be greeted very cheerfully by Jamie our bartender. What an amazing personality, she was helpful with every question we had. We had a couple of Mules and some pretzel bites. Amy the other bartender also checked in on us a few times. We were very impressed with the decor and location. Would definitely recommend. Thanks Jamie for being an amazing bartender! You have an amazing employee!
The Delaware is one of the best restaurants in Kenmore! They are open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner. They have a large centrally located bar. I also love their spacious booths. It's a great place for me to meet for business lunches. Excellent service and great food! Lots of healthy and low carb options are available. On my last visit, I had the deviled eggs and Caesar salad with shrimp. Both are great choices! I will definitely be returning soon!
3 people Friday evening. 1)Battered fish fry was c-. Each end was dry and not edible. center was ok. 2)Cajun broiled fish was A+. Good flavor and nice piece. 3)Goat cheese salad B. If there was variety of greens it would have improved the rating Just arugula made it boring. 4)Beignet desert D- The donut was good. The 3 toppings were cold and hard. There was no way to dip the hot donut and when I asked for a few small spoons to scoop the toppings, I got grief from the server. I explained the dilemna not being able to get the topping on the beignet. Server reply: "that's how they do it", Overall: not an experience that would make me want to return. Considering the empty sears at 5:30PM Friday others must feel the same way. jfrank
Great experience, very clean and quiet enough to enjoy a conversation with my partner. Our sever Paul was great, very attentive (I really appreciated this, some servers at other spots suck). The Napa flat bread appetizer was phenomenal, would go back just for this. My gf and I both got a grain bowl and we both agreed it was just ok. She got the chicken and I got the steak. Flavor was just ok for both of us (bacon soy/maple ginger). Jasmine rice was overcooked, quinoa was good. The cut of steak was only alright but it was rather inexpensive so that was also ok with me. Steak came medium rare, I wasn’t asked about my preference (which was also ok as I would’ve ordered medium rare anyways). We will absolutely be back to try other stuff! Would recommend!
First time visiting after a plethora of times driving by. We tried their veal meatball appetizer, meatloaf, and short rib pasta. The meatballs were incredible as was the pasta. Reminded us of a higher quality beef stroganoff. I wouldn't recommend buying a bottle of wine due to the price but their cocktails were good. The waitress was lovely and atmosphere was nice. We would visit again.
Personally thought food was fine, a little saltier than would’ve like but for sure it was good. Staff was pretty good, waiter was very attentive. Menu and drink selections were great. We went on a night it was raining so indoor seating was a little bit of await as it’s not a huge place. All in all I think it was a good experience, I don’t have anything bad to really say. (Other than the salt)
Been here a few times for work dinners. The beer and cocktails are great. The food has been ok. Pasta was overcooked and felt mushy and the chicken was dry. Burgers were ok. The pita meat was dry even with the sauce. The best thing is the meatloaf and dessert.
This used to be a medium upscale place but it’s not anymore. I went there for a nice b’day dinner but it wasn’t that great. Service was slow, not enough people working there, practically everyone wearing jeans and sneakers and ordering hamburgers and fries. Drinks were good but I didn’t appreciate looking at the slop bucket in the hallway all during dinner. Not a ‘special occasion’ place at all ! I won’t be going back.
We visited around 5 PM last night. The male host who seated us was very friendly and welcoming, which started the experience off nicely. Unfortunately, our waitress was not attentive or friendly at all. We had to stack our appetizer and dinner plates at the edge of the table just to get them cleared, our water ran out, and she never once smiled and rarely checked in. During our visit, we couldn’t help but notice the bartender was very friendly and engaging with guests, even though we weren’t seated with her—we honestly wished we had sat at the bar instead. While the food itself was great, the poor service really overshadowed the experience. Sadly, we will not be returning unless we sit at the bar. Also, I believe we were the only table she had to take care of, I might understand the lack of service if the place was packed but we were 1 of 3 tables. Thinking the other waitress was taking care of the other 2 tables.
Haven't been to The Delaware for a while. Glad to see the menu had a few changes since I had some menu fatigue a few years back. Service attentive at first, then fell off. I didn't order a drink and had to steal boyfriend's water. We ordered the Korean meatballs. They were.. adequate. Slightly bland and slightly dry, but the sauce was excellent -- bbq and Sriracha. From a food point of view, an app with an odd number makes sense. The server knowing we are sharing and not requesting the kitchen even it out isn't great service. But that might be me nitpicking. Biyfriend ordered a burger that he said was "fine, good" Fries were very good, crispy, coated, well seasoned. I got the special, squash ravioli. Now, I love butternut squash, pumpkin, and all those warm sweet fall kind of flavors. But this dish was way too what i call "samey-samey". All the flavors were too much the same. Sweet, slightly undercooked, no not el dente, ravioli with fennel that has a sweeter flavor profile, in brown butter sage cream sauce. I thought the cream was too similar in sweetness. The dish needed something contrasting for the pallet. After we ordered, we didn't see our server, but she did apologize for being absent. The main dinning room is crazy loud so talking was a bit difficult. Overall, an ok experience. A bit expensive. Not sure I'd go back soon, but in a year or so I probably will.
Nice atmosphere, waited 10 mins @ our table before anyone came over. Food was way below average, foccia bread, like frozen pizza & hard as rock. Salmon like rubber, burger overcooked & tasteless with amazing chips, though fries are laughable as an “ upgrade? 🤣. Thankfully we had a decent bottle of wine. Overall the “ chips” & “ bag of doughnuts” were the best thing about our dinner. Unfortunately would never recommend to friends, we were really hoping for a satisfying meal. Our server was lovely but not well trained, didn’t know what “ Prosecco” was. Will not return
Made reservations for an early Saturday evening dinner. Restaurant was not busy. Was taken upstairs to a small table for two. When I asked to move to a table that had 3 chairs I was told they were saved. Waitress took 15-20 minutes to even show to our table. Ordered holiday drinks and an appetizer. Was told they were out of calamari already at 5:30 pm on a Saturday night? Drinks took another 25 minutes to come to table. Drink were in small glasses, The service was terrible, ambience was weird, and I highly recommend staying away from this business.
Went on a Thursday at 730 pm. Was seated upstairs with a group of six. Put our drink order in, nothing mind blowing. After 40 minutes of waiting I looked and one bartender on duty serving the entire place. I finally left my table went to the bar and begged for two drinks to bring to my table. It took about an hour and a half for food to come. I ordered a t bone steak. It was literally paper thin and tough as nails and I ordered it rare. It was honestly the worst steak I've ever seen at that price point. I would 100% stay away if its even remotely busy.
Came here last Thursday evening around 4:30 PM with a smile on my face. Said hello to the hostess, asked how she was doing, and was greeted with a blank stare. I proceeded to tell her that we had reservations and after confirming, she began to lead us up the stairs. I asked her if there was any way we could be seated downstairs as both of my parents are elderly, one is on chemo with end stage cancer, and the other with heart issues. She told me no that there was a retirement party and they were all booked up. Minutes after being seated and served water, I noticed her setting up a booth downstairs and seating a young couple. They were given menus and waited on, clearly not a part of the retirement party. They seemed like they arrived at their seats, easily with a smile on their face, unlike my mother who was gasping for air by the time she reached her chair. Not quite sure why they were accommodated, and an elderly terminal patron could not be. There was plenty of seating with us upstairs. Eventually, the other two booths that were empty were filled as well. Same thing menus and service. The retirement party was not over. The food was delicious, but the experience was horrible. The hostess/waitress only perked up when we were asking for boxes and a check wishing us a good day. I certainly hope the tip we left continued her smile for the next customer so that they can feel welcomed. We all have bad days, but it was hard to believe hers was so horrible when I looked down at the register and see her singing and dancing to the music. I called and left a message Friday to avoid having to leave this Google review, I did not get a call back. I guess the manager who came in at 1/2 that day doesn’t care. Does anyone at this restaurant?
