Nicole was our server. Excellent customer service!! She was attentive but not aggressive. Friendly and super helpful. We got steak and shrimp dinner and the salmon. Every thing cooked to perfection and tasted excellent! The live music was a pleasant surprise. We will definitely be back! Only a few things needed improvement, our table was right against the glass and we could see the cooks and servers inside kitchen, dining room light needed to be more dim and lastly, the cheesecake was topped with fruit compote not fresh berries.
This restaurant is a Must Go To!! Close to the Pittsburgh Airport, so we found this on our way home from a flight. Amazing accidentally find! When we entered it was surprisingly pretty loud actually. We learned it was there "music night", and the band was awesome. Lots of people dancing and having a great time. We did have to talk loudly over the band to order and talk to each other but it was a fun atmosphere just the same. Now let me tell you the food was beyond delicious! I have mushroom ravioli and my hubby had ribeye with broccoli and a scalloped potato wedge. Both meals were fabulous. We also had a calamari appetizer which was good but nothing special and rather plain, so I would skip that next time. Other appetizers passing us looked great so I'd still give one a try. We will go back!!!!
Oct 25 update ==> It's been awhile since we've been here and they've had a fire which closed them down for a bit. We had an occasion we wanted to celebrate so decided to come back for another visit. We were happy to note that it is still an upscale restaurant with excellent food. The waitstaff was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and ready to accommodate our wishes. The whole experience was great. The food was delicious and quantities were large enough that we took lots home so the prices do not seem as high. ================================================ This is an upscale restaurant that is a pleasure to visit. It adjoins a hotel, but is not a hotel restaurant, if you get my meaning. It is really an independent operation. The decor is in warm browns, there are two dining rooms, and a separate bar area. A nice wine list and our waiter was knowledgeable enough to suggest pairing ideas. The menu changes seasonally and they try to cater to every taste. All our dishes were very well prepared and presented. Desserts are displayed on a tablet and looked the same when brought to the table. A complete meal with wine, coffee, and dessert, is not cheap, but you definitely get your money's worth.
Wow, I was extremely pleased with this restaurant. It is an upper-scale place, located in the hotel. The food, absolutely top notch. I bring all of my new hire trainees here during their orientation week. My salmon salad is always cooked to perfection, and the entire salad $14!! Huge and delicious plate of balsamic brussel sprouts $9! I highly recommend it. Staffing is great, very attentive to food allergies.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner & we were blown away by how delicious our meals were, how large the portions were, & how awesome our server Jamie was! My boyfriend had the pork chops and I had the honey chicken. It was honestly the best chicken we’ve ever had in a restaurant. Crispy & juicy! Both meals were truly outstanding! Jamie was training a new employee & was attentive, personable, & timely! They even surprised my boyfriend with a delicious birthday desert. We are locals & will definitely be back. Thank you for a perfect experience!
Always delicious food , crab cake is superb. As with most restaurants today , they were short on staff , but our waitress was very good.
First time being there! My Fiancée and I had a great experience! The people working there were all very friendly and made us feel welcome. The servers were very attentive, and the food was excellent! We started with the shrimp and grits. This was so good! I had the NY Strip that was cooked perfectly and my Fiancée had the Shrimp Scampi Pasta that she enjoyed! We definitely recommend and will definitely be returning!
Updated review: I still stand true to my previous review, but have become a more frequent visitor, going at least 2 times a month now. Seasonal menu items keep me retiring and lunch pizzas are fantastic. Pumpkin Bread Pudding is still my ultimate desire when I go, but alas it is also seasonal. Berkshire Porkchop is so tender and juicy, and large enough to feed 4 people with small appetites, 2 people with regular appetites, out someone who's just really hungry. The trout specials are always perfectly cooked and run out fast, and finally my 2 favorites; Honey Garlic Chicken and the Field Greens salad. You can't go won't with either. Want to gift your salad some heft? Request the addition of chicken! The new renovations are fantastic! Much more inviting and cozy. Doesn't feel like you HAVE TO dress up to go anymore. And the new menu items are unique and delicious. For starters; the bread is delicious and well made (wasn't a fan of the mixed butters bc I don't like olives, but my mom loved them), the filet tips app is large enough to share or eat as your meal (so tender you can cut them with a butter knife...and we did), the crab cake app was okay (the corn and potato relish that sits underneath the crab cake is the star, and while the crab cake was full of large jumbo lumps of crab it still tasted quite bread-y), the chocolate decadence is incredibly indulgent, the Caesar side salad comes with sardines and is bland (I ordered it sans sardines, and while the CROUTONS ARE TO DIE FOR the dressing flavor was none existent), the red skin potatoes are amazing (get them!!!!), and the STAR OF THE SHOW was the Pumpkin Banana Bread (which is more like a bread pudding, but so freaking fantastic. Ooey gooey, full of flavor, perfect crust on top, and soaking in a cream sauce. YUM)!! Can't wait to return!
Jackson’s Restaurant & Bar at the Hilton Southpointe was fantastic, treating us to delicious meals and drinks. The staff was personable and friendly, and the atmosphere was lively and classy.
Another amazing lunch at Jacksons!! Perfect spot for a business lunch!! Love the food and always have great service!!
Came for the proximity and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Attached to the Hilton but a very fine selection and spacious seating.
Jackson’s is the SPOT if you’re near Cannonsburg. They just opened back up after a long awaited remodel, and it is gorgeous inside. The food is perfect, staff are the best! So nice and knowledgeable of the menu. The pork chop is my go to favorite. I will be returning to Jackson’s soon, hungry for more!
We had a wonderful rehearsal dinner by Jackson's last year, served at the HGI due to their rebuilding from the fire. This was our first time visiting in restaurant since the remodel and we loved the ambiance! Reservations were easy to make on OpenTable (3 choices for bar high top, dining room, and outside patio), and we were seated promptly. The staff was all very kind, friendly and attentive. And the chefs quickly answered any dietary menu questions and requests which was very much appreciated. Absolutely get the crab Mac and cheese if you're a seafood lover - so much tender crab ( and two shrimp!) and large portions for a very fair MP. The strip steak was also cooked to medium rare perfection and perfectly smothered in cheese. Highly recommend the cheesecake and carrot cake for dessert. Both were very fresh and tasty! We had a delightful dinner and will be sure to return for another special occasion. Note that most of their live band/entertainment is on Friday nights if you're looking for that as well - more info on their webpage and FB.
Jacksons has a great little spot within the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel complex at Southpointe; only 20 minutes from Pittsburgh. Their atmosphere is divided up into sections: Bar Section with Entertainment Section, Classy Section, Event Section and Outdoor Section. Their food is worth the price but most of all I like the atmosphere more.
Took my brother out for a birthday dinner here and everything was beyond my expectations from the service to the food. Will return.
The food was amazing, worth every penny. We took enough food home for several more meals, too! Our waitress Megan made the night wonderful for us. What a gem this restaurant is.
Wonderful and fantastic food and service, the restaurant is very pleasant.
Great meal. Phenomenal Brussel sprouts and steak. Chloe was fantastic, very helpful and attentive. Highly recommend stopping in!
The filet was quite good and the service was quick and friendly.
If you want bang for buck then this is it. Saturdays are prime rib special plus a fresh catch from the Chef. The food really is some of the best in the area and you can literally watch your food being made by hand. Don't forget about Sunday brunch here with a Bloody Mary that you can make! I highly recommend!
We had a group 25 and our waitress Karly was incredible. Never got overwhelmed and we had our drinks and food in no time. Food was delicious, my steak was cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back. 👍 - Coke/Monster Energy
Food was delicious, service was amazing. Our server Collin was incredibly patient with our larger party as well as the two little tornados we had with us. Would definitely recommend a visit here!
Great lunch menu, service was excellent, atmosphere is good but not really great. We will definitely be back.
Matt gave the family great service and the food was delicious. I want to come back to try more dishes.
We had a wonderful dining experience last night at Jackson’s. Our table enjoyed a mix of steaks, chops, and seafood. Everything was truly superb, with one of the chef’s seasonally inspired menu creations, the Grilled Swordfish, overwhelmingly voted the best. It was truly magical dish! As always the drive home left us longing for more, eagerly planning our next visit to Jackson’s!
We love our Jackson’s evenings. From the moment we walk in, we see the beautiful smiling face of Debbie, the hostess. Then, as we walk further in to the lobby, and we see the friendly and welcoming managers, Hannah, Lindsay and Michael. Every so often we have the pleasure of Don’s company, the general manager. We sit at the bar for a before-dinner beverage, and are entertained by the vivacious Sarah, who is warm and entertaining, mixing drinks to perfection (think the movie “Cocktail.”). LThen Aaron arrives on the scene. He always makes me laugh. He too is an excellent bartender, as is Carly. Time to migrate to our favorite table in the dining room. The wonderful and entertaining Jenna was our server. She is attentive and efficient, offering great dinner suggestions. I ordered the delectable filet. It is always cooked to medium rare perfection. Kudos to the meticulous and talented kitchen staff, who prepare excellent meals. Mike, Jim, Stephany, David, Alec and Devin, you guys are the best! My friend had the beet salad, topped with blackened salmon. It looked scrumptious, and my dinner companion loved it. I hope they never take it off the menu. The other servers, who have all waited on us, are wonderful too. Ruthie, Angel, Aaron, Carly, Tara, Amelia, Lori and Chantel, you are all awesome! This is a wonderful restaurant with an amazing team, and delicious food and drinks. I highly recommend Jackson’s Restaurant at Southpointe! Thank you to the entire team for providing us with delicious food, and a relaxing evening full of laughter. We will definitely be back soon! Editing to say that the original post, with a response from Jackson’s, was a while ago, but I couldn’t seem to post a new review because my previous review kept coming up.
Had the single cut porkchop with roasted fingerling potatoes and carrots. Starch and veggies were so good ate those first. Porkchop grilled perfectly, topped with some type of jam that was a perfect compliment to the chop! Really impressed! Nice staff.
My sister took me to Jackson’s for lunch to celebrate my birthday. I ordered a Caesar salad and a chicken sandwich. My lunch was delicious! The service and atmosphere were outstanding! I will definitely return to try the dinner menu!
It was a wonderful experience! Food was amazing ! Waitress was wonderful ! Was very nice to my daughter. We came to celebrate our mothers birthday! The live band was so much fun ! Thank you for a wonderful time ! Will definitely be back !
I took my sister for her birthday. We had a delicious lunch. I had an open face steak sandwich, homemade apple strudel. The service and atmosphere was wonderful. I will definitely be back for dinner.
Everyone was exceptional. Would was way better than average. Well worth the money and time. We typically had gone here for dinner but tried their lunch and is was equally as good.
Experienced Jackson's for the first time - celebrating an anniversary. We wanted a place a step up from the mainstream restaurant...and we got it! Atmosphere was great-especially with the glassed-in open kitchen layout. The food was exceptional! Our server was very mechanical in personality so that element lacked the warmth of a good "people-person." Overall it was a great experience and we will not hesitate returning there someday.
Absolute wonderful experience. Jaime, our waiter, was attentive, friendly, and professional. The food from the appetizer (calamari) to our entrees were fresh, well seasoned, and delicious.
Stopped in for lunch after a seminar in one of their conference rooms. Thought I would just get a quick burger. Turned out to be the best burger ever, the bacon jam was so delicious, and everything was cooked perfectly. The waitress and hostess were super friendly and it turned out to be a perfectly enjoyable lunch.
Jacksons is an upscale restaurant and bar that serves Sunday brunch and daily lunch and dinner. My husband and I ate Sunday brunch here. The waitress was nice, but the waitress and cook were slow to serve us. We liked our bananas-foster French toast, meat frittata, jelly toast, and tea. I would return in the future to try their lunch and dinner foods such as pastas, chicken, pork chops, salmon, crab cakes, and steaks.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jacksons Restaurant + Bar in Southpointe, Pittsburgh, and it was an experience worth raving about. Located within the Hilton Garden Inn, this spot blends sophistication with comfort, making it a perfect choice for a relaxed meal or a celebratory evening. The food was exceptional. The sticky rib appetizer was fall-apart tender and just really perfect. Their local craft beer selection and thoughtfully curated wine list elevated the meal even further. What made the night truly memorable, though, was the exceptional service, thanks to the restaurant’s manager, Lindsay. Her warm, genuine hospitality was clear from the moment we arrived. She checked in to ensure everything was perfect, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made sure we felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout the evening. It’s rare to find that level of personalized attention. Whether you’re staying at the Hilton or are a local looking for a hidden gem, Jacksons is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back, thanks to the incredible food and Lindsay’s unforgettable hospitality!
The food was great and the atmosphere is very nice. My server must've been new. We were only her 2nd table, she was very frazzled, never brought my 2nd drink, then put her 1st tables check on my card.
Food was great but the service was better!! Thanks and recognition to our server Karlie(hope spelling is correct). Its people like yourself that make good restaurants great, keep up the good work and thanks for everything.
Great happy hour and portions were big. Service with a smile and good drink pours. Went for the deviled eggs but they were not available. Oh well gotta head back for more goodness!
We’ve only been for brunch on Sunday but we’re beyond disappointed in the experience. It took a long time to get us seated because no one was the hostess stand. We ordered a frittata and a chorizo wrap and were not impressed with either. The egg if the frittata tasted like the eggs were made in the microwave. It was almost inedible, and the taste of the eggs was horrible. The service was subpar to say the least, since there were only two servers working which included being a hostess as well. The atmosphere and cleanliness of the place was great. Do not recommend you go there for brunch.
Went for dinner and to see a band, Local Buzz, the band was good, the reason for the 3 stars. They have a double happy hour, 4 - 6 and again 8 - 10. We had our first wine after the 6:00 happy hour. We were ready for our second drinks around 8:00 so we waited until 8:04 and at the bar ordered 2 wines, the bill was $18. Asked the bartender how does 6 + 6 = 18, his response was we ran out of happy hour Cab so that one is $12. Really, their happy hour statement does not say until we run out of xyz. Very disappointed in a resturant that is considers itself high-end to stoop so low.
Not impressed. Father’s Day brunch. It took 52 minutes after ordering for food to come out. I’m not taking culinary complex foods here. Scrambled eggs, French toast and waffles in a restaurant with most tables open. Food was mediocre once received. Side order of scrambled eggs not received but we weren’t charged for it so I guess that’s ok. Server was nice and apologetic for delay. $70 for meh experience with two hungry kids. Happy Father’s Day.
Went there for Valentines Day and it was a bit of a disappointment. We did the Valentines 4 course meal. - Oysters Rockefeller were completely cooked through and were mouth scalding hot. - Avocado Ranch dressing on the side salad was bland and tasted off. - The main course "NY Strip" was done medium well when asked for medium rare and the peppercorn sauce left something to be desired. The carrots were drenched in the peppercorn sauce and they were over cooked. The mashed potatoes may have saved it but since the steak was plated on top, they weren't great either. - Never made it to eating the desert because after a disappointing meal along with music that was so distracting and loud that it made it difficult to communicate, I was ready to leave. Leaving behind half of an overcooked $85 steak. They really missed the mark on Valentines Day and it was an extreme disappointment. When you expect a nice relaxing dinner with the wife only to hear the song "These boot are made for walking" put up to volume level 10 out of 10. It wasn't a completely ruined night, but for a $200 meal I expected better. I would put the food above apple bees but not as good as Long Horn Steakhouse. To me that is disappointing.
Great venue with great entertainment but the food has steadily gone down hill and they need more servers on the weekend.
We had Dinner there on New Year's Eve. The appetizers were fantastic, the salad was good. Our service was awesome. BUT my entire was served with ICE COLD RICE. And the fish was barely warm. The crab and Mac was hot so finished it.
Pretty garbage service for mediocre food. Too expensive for garbage they put out. Would not recommend
Had a very disappointing experience on Christmas Eve. First time we tried going out for dinner on Christmas Eve, and it was a not a good experience. We had a 630pm reservation and arrived at approximately 625pm. We were seated immediately, right next to the fireplace (very warm) and along the windows overlooking the kitchen. When we arrived, the local fire department was on the scene as alarms were going off in the building and the fire department was trying to determine the cause of the alarm situation. The alarms were finally turned off at approximately 7pm but firemen were on scene for another 45 minutes, passing through the kitchen periodically. Definitely unsettling to say the least! We were finally waited on after sitting for approximately 30 minutes. Our dinners finally arrived at approximately 8:10pm, but my wife's dinner was delivered approximately 10 minutes before mine. Additionally, I ordered a simple pasta and my wife order a few vegetables. My pasta contained some time of spice, which I did not expect, making it almost too spicy to eat. From my seat overlooking the kitchen, I was able to observe the activity and interaction between the chefs and wait staff. At one point, I counted approximately 25 tickets for orders waiting to be filled. We have dined here before, and this was truly a very disappointing experience. I won't be going back anytime soon.
Our family was excited to go to dinner here from all the positive experiences and reviews. Unfortunately, our service was not like others. It took us almost 45 minutes to get our beverages (including water that comes automatically). The fire alarms started going off and kept going on until the fire department got there close to 45 minutes to an hour later to shut them off. It was so smoky in the restaurant that my uncle (who has COPD) had to go outside because he couldn't breathe. Not once did a manager stop by either and ask us how we were or apologize for the disruption. We ordered 2 bottles of wine, received one with 1 glass only because the others were currently being washed (we received them close to 25 minutes after we ordered and we also ordered a coke that never came). The other bottle was a glass of wine and when we told our server we wanted a bottle it seemed like it was an inconvenience to her and that we didn't originally ask for one. When the bottle was finally brought to our table, my cousins drank it without realizing she brought us the wrong bottle of wine. They were already halfway done with it and just finished it off without saying anything. We then asked for my uncles coke again and the server acted like it was the first time we ordered a coke. When she brought it back, it was a diet coke so to get the correct one took more time again. Thankfully the apps we ordered arrived and were very good. Calamari was great and the salad had homemade croutons which were amazing. We finally received our food after 2 hours of being sat. The special (crab stuffed salmon) was very good. The mushroom side was overcooked, the sirloin had this weird butter on it that made it taste a little funky, the crab cakes were really good, the frites were undercooked in the middle and overcooked in the ends. My cousin ordered a side of brussel sprouts and brought it up to the server when the food was delivered. The waitress brought it out 10 minutes later and she said "on the fly sprouts" so not sure if it was ever rung in. They were not seasoned at all so not sure if they just hurried up to get it done or not. We were done with our food and it took awhile for the waitress to get us our checks and then they were split incorrectly. My cousin originally ordered the special but we ordered 2 for the table and they only had 1 so she had to order something else but was charged for the special. When it was mentioned to the server she stated it was cheaper so she just left it on, but it was not cheaper. The special was $36 and the chicken they ended up with was $28 so she was overcharged $8 for her entree and lied to about it. Our family is full of seasoned restaurant managers and servers so we really try to understand the difficulties that may take place or how many tables one may have but the service was not great and the server acted like it was our fault she forgot something. My card was ran for the meal but wasn't dropped back to the table until almost 20 minutes after she swiped it and at this point most of the restaurant was empty. It wasn't just our table having issues either. The table next to us sat down not much after we did and ended up getting their food to go because it was taking so long and the table behind us got their food rather late as well. The food I am hoping was just a fluke due to the smoking and fire alarm and fire department coming in but overall this experience was not even good.
Valentine’s Day reservations tonight & we were sat in between 2 teenage couples, so close that we could not talk without interfering with their conversations. They charge $49 for an 8oz filet with NO SIDES, they were out of multiple dinner and side options. We were still trying to just enjoy our time. Our server nicole was a sweetheart and we left her money on the table but ultimately walked out after an employee sprayed the table next to us, spraying me directly, so odds are spraying our appetizer.. was absolutely not what we expected and will never go back. Nicole I’m so sorry we left we hope you had a great day.
I booked a table here this evening for two. My boyfriend and I arrived and were seated. We then sat there for 30 entire minutes with no greeting, no water, no drinks, no nothing. A table came in after us and a waiter came out to start service at their table and we were completely ignored. We got up and walked out. Another table of 5 that was there before us were still sitting with just menus and were also being ignored. Management must have been asleep somewhere because that’s horrible service. It was my first and last time. Just awful.
