So it's not "real" Mexican food, but after much coaxing, my partner got me to try out a bowl. Best bowl of my life, Taco Bell could never. They also filled it to the brim which was great, I got to eat it twice basically. I got the al pastor chicken; it doesn't taste like try al pastor, but it's yummy anyway.

Bomb food and excellent service, highly recommend to anyone looking for some yummy Mexican food. The portions are large of quality food, nothing ever frozen!
All things considered, this is a practical option if you are looking for something fast and cost affective. I am not a fan of fast food, so this tends to be our go-to in a pinch. They can do a much better job of cleaning the restaurant. I won’t go into the bathroom because it may deter me from going back to the restaurant at all. The food is usually fresh. The station is understandably untidy because they have sporadic rushes. I can imagine this can be improved with employee retention. That being said, I have low expectations for these venues.
I mean, it's a fast food place, so it is good for what it is. Clean, fast, yummy. I sure wish Chipotle would have other hot sauce though. I don't like Tabasco.
If you order guacamole on your burrito, you'll likely get avocado skin mixed in with it. I stopped ordering guacamole on my burrito for this reason. I'd love to give 5 stars because when the food is made right, it's so good! However, I've had several occasions where the food wasn't made correctly. The service isn't bad though, and most of the time the restaurant is cleaned well.
My chicken burrito was pretty good! However CHIPS are officially never available 🤦♂️ so don't try to order them or they will tell you to get a refund. I even seen them making the chips and we asked if we could order some and they said they were not available. Other than that they are all good
I get it's busy but I think if they had someone come out more often to sweep and wipe down tables and the drink station. It would drastically improve atmosphere. Seating isn't too comfy but I like most take food to go.

Longtime Chipotle eater here. This location is usually better than the Santa Cruz one, so I've been trying it more often recently. One thing I've noticed is that portions are wildly inconsistent- especially for meat. One day it's normal for what Chipotle has done for nearly 20 years, and another day I get a half scoop of chicken and they won't budge when I ask for the normal portion. I'm so tired of having to ask them to adjust and getting attitude in response. Prices are up, portions on proteins are down. So I eat Chipotle only occasionally now. And jeez- clean this place once in a while! The dining area is a disaster every time, just like most of these reviews say... Updating this review to reflect how this location has gotten worse, especially with employee attitudes.
Burrito maker had cell phone ON food station. Steak, nearly every bite had gristle. Chips were stale. I walked in on a VERY IMPORTANT conversation as I stood waiting to be acknowledged. I didn't feel like having a frustrating one sided conversation with an 18 year old manager. Total waste of money as half of the meat I needed for iron was lost due to an unnatural amount of gristle. This happened around 7:15PM October 28, 2024. And this marks the last day I step inside Capitola Chipotle.
I had a long wait for just one family. The guy in front was quick to order but asked for THREE scoops of the diminishing guacamole and only paid $12 (half chicken and half steak bowl). I ordered steak to keep it simple but by the time they got to me they were out of cheese so I asked for one more scoop of guacamole so the steak and rice would not be dry as I just had a procedure on my throat and needed it. (only said that when first refused.) In the end I had to pay an extra $6 for the same amount of guacamole to make my rice and steak palatable. I went there for a quick bite and in the time spent could have sat down at a restaurant nearby and relaxed w/o all the stress. Just left feeling sad and managed to get the lunch down however unpleasant while I looked at the glass doors completely covered with hand prints wondering why I even tried this. Just sad about it on an otherwise beautiful day. I felt the clerks could care less. In the end I paid $9 MORE for an inferior bowl to the one ahead of me.
Update 1 year later: portions are TINY. especially of the meat. Its often dirty inside. I truly believe this company gives incentives for employees to give out smallest portions possible. You have to pay extra for "double meat" in order to get a normal 1/4c portion of meat. I was the 3rd person in line today that had to ask for double meat bevause of this tiny portion issue. Their prices are ALREADY HIGH. Its such a ripoff to come to Chipotle. They've seen thw last of my money. Local hard working restaurants will get my money when im wanting to eat out of the house. Previous 3 star review: Their prices are the same or more but the portions are smaller lately. This is new. They have been giving half scoops or 1-2 tbsp equivalents of all items. Like if I got everything there would still be room left in the bowl. If I'm going to be giving half portions especially on meat, I want half prices then too.
Stingy portion sizes. They shake the spoon to get as much product off the spoon as possible before serving it onto your bowl. $43.16 for two bowls, no drinks

went to Chipotle here. Everything has gone downhill over the last couple of years. food tasted ok, but portion was small for my bowl. I made an online order and the order was missing ingredients. not sure if they were just out or had missed it. When we went inside, they'd already locked one door and started putting chairs up and they were still open for more than an hour. I also had to wait an extra 10min because the order wasn't ready yet, probably because they were busy closing early instead of serving customers.
Don’t order on any of the apps including the Chipotle app. The serving size is honestly terrible. Either go in and get your moneys worth or take your money elsewhere

To start, the food is very inconsistent… some days it tastes like there is no salt, other days it’s overly spicy, and sometimes they are out of the most basic ingredients. It’s like whoever is cooking and buying the ingredients has no idea what they are doing. If I order a vegetarian bowl online but they are out of fajita vaggies (a common occurrence) they will not give you extra or something else or deduct a dollar off your order. You just find out when you’re home they either got it wrong or ran out. Happens at least 75% of the time. Then there’s the portions. This depends entirely on who is serving the food that day… some are generous and others are super cheap. I cook a lot and know the price of quality food…. Conventional beans and rice are not expensive. Yet the serving they give you is typically very small to where you have to ask for extra/ a normal amount. I don’t understand this. Why the cheapness? The size of the salads, burritos, and bowls has gotten smaller over the years and the price has gone up. The hard shell tacos is still a decent value… for now. Overall I really don’t enjoy eating at Chipotle anymore and find I simply do out of familiarity or convenience when in a pinch. But it’s not a particularly enjoyable experience.

As other reviewers have said, this is the FILTHIEST chipotle I've been to. Trash cans overflowing, food line dirty, bathroom dirty, every table dirty. I witnessed a chipotle employee eat their meal at an absolutely disgustingly dirty table. They walked away and started their shift, never returning to clean the table. The employees seemed high and moved slowly. Because they were high they did seem friendly. Friendly, yet okay with living in filth apparently. The line was slow. I will never return.
This is the worst Chipotle I've ever been to restaurant was dirty only 2 employees and one manager working they were all very inexperienced running around trying to figure out what to do and it didn't make a difference nothing was done correctly or in a timely manner they looked completely lost as if they were never trained. We ordered online ahead and order wasn't ready as promised nothing on the make line was filled, no meats were cooked management needs to be fired and a fresh new team needs to be trained thoroughly to come in and take over. I am not surprised by the long list of negative Google reviews they are all accurate.
I should have read the reviews before I went! Big mistake…. There were only two people eating in the restaurant and two people in line before me. It was prime dinner time; 6:20pm. The restaurant was filthy. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since opening. Closing time is posted at 10pm but they were out of many items; fajita’s, chicken, steak! The grill looked shut down. Know one was grilling anything. The counters around the food trays were filthy. I have patronized Chipotle for many years but it is really sad that the store closest to where I live is the worst Chipotle I have ever seen! Management needs to do better!
The restaurant is filthy. How does it not get shut down? The staff consistently allow trash on the floors throughout the dining room and underfoot in line up to the cashiers. This location is frequently out of many items at once (i.e. fajita vegetables, black beans, queso cheese). The employees blast personal rap music with swearing and x-rated lyrics. We walked out. It was too gross to imagine getting food.
Crappedy pants like 45min later at first tons of pain then i was worried the lava would not stop. Not that I can't say It didn't feel amazing, but I could have lived without it!
Always filthy and the employees look miserable. A few of the female employees are very kind so I’m not referring to them. I came in today and the elderly man served me. Every time he serves me he is straight up rude. I used to work at chipotle so I know what portions are supposed to be. He gave me not even a half scoop of chicken, then tried to charge my wife extra for cheese. (Cheese, not queso!) He then proceeded to tell my wife that she didn’t “need” anymore cheese. What is that supposed to mean?!! Management here is also awful and doesn’t care when you’re treated badly. Chips were stale to top it all off. For the amazing female employees that work here- you all deserve to work somewhere better.
Extremely disappointed in this restaurant and will not be going back. Today was the 5th time in a row that there has been major issues. Today the order was submitted online with a pickup time of noon, which was the time the restaurant suggested. Arrived at noon, nothing is ready. 30 MINUTES LATER the order was finally ready. Luckily we checked the bag because there was no salad dressing and no chips. When asked they said they didn't have any. We had to REQUEST a refund. Once we got back to the office to eat, the burrito bowl was made wrong, the rice has WAY too much cilantro (more than their normal amount). This all follows previous problems such as food not being ready, a significant amount of items not available, rude staff, quality issues, and meals that are half the sizes of other meals in the same order.
The sign on the door says open at 10:00 However, I was told when I walked in they don’t open until 10:45. Doors open, multiple workers but not open. Weird!
This is the most disgusting location that I have ever walked into. I could tell just that by the outer appearance, it was not going to be good. But against my better judgement I walked inside anyway and I was not surprised that I was right. There was food and trash all over the empty tables and floors. I proceed to the line and stood behind a waiting patron, and the more I see, the more I confirm I do not want to wait or place an order here. I didn't hesitate. I nearly ran out the door. To whomever that will read this, please do yourself a favor, DO NOT waste your gas, time, energy, money and possibly your taste buds.
This place isn't what it use to be. The moment you walk in it's a mess. Garbage is over spilling, tables and floors are sticky with food everywhere, it's disgusting. It's almost certain you won't find a clean table. Always long lines.The food area is disgusting and not appetizing. We loved going here as a family, we definitely miss it.
Restaurant was locked when I arrived long before closing. I called in my order. When I arrived 30 minutes later they hadn't started making it yet. Only one person working the entire restaurant handling in person and online orders and preparing ingredients. He was doing a good job but there's only so much one person can do. They were out of white rice and chips. This is a bad Chipotle.
Portions are extremely small than the photos they present. The new cauliflower is $2 extra than everything else yet I got just 2tbl spoons. Hardly nothing. Unbelievable how inconsistent their portions are and how expensive it is. Every time I go to chipotle I’m left feeling annoyed, frustrated and unsatisfied. Customer service is sadly not good either. Just all around a terrible location and Chipotle in general as a company is extremely stingy with their portions - unbelievable. Waste of money. Just horrible.
Tried to charge me for the lettuce they would’ve put in the burrito anyway? Insisted on putting it in a container with a plastic lid rather than just some wrapping it in some foil? WHY? I requested it in foil. I’ve been ordering the same thing at 50 different chipotle restaurants for over a decade. Guess I met the “high sheriff” of takeout today. Done with this place. Literally never again. Done.

So from my point of view your company doesn't really care 😔..! As much as I always like Chipotle in the past I will no longer eat at one as i feel your only concern is getting my $ .. Uber eats was unable to make and adjustment or reimburse the money :( I will contact my credit card company to open a Dispute for the full amount. Simple it is unacceptable.

Server stared at my 15 yr old while he asked politely for each item for his burrito, never said a word in response . It looked pretty passive-aggressive to me, he had a bad attitude to a kid half his age. Then I asked for a bowl, got half the amount of meat you would expect because they were low on almost everything , they didn’t have beans , they didn’t have veggies, can’t give me more meat, I asked why they gave me attitude like they wanted to fight me. Really not enticing me to return. In the old days they would ask you to wait since they’re making more. This time felt like ‘just get out of here’, we are busy. It was 6-something PM . C’mon Seems everyone that posts a complaint gets circled back to write a comment again rather than addressing their customer service issues. Poorly handled, Chipotle. I saw the same comment to other recent reviews, basically a cop-out imo. Don’t just tell me to submit a new comment each time as your “solution” to a problem. That is insulting

Employee neglected to tell me that the entire store was “out” of sour cream until I had almost completed my entire order. If I wasn’t meeting someone here, I would have just walked out.
So i walked in at 1045 doors were opened and was told to wait 5 min nobody was in shop but the workers ordered my veggie bowl to find out they didn't prep grilled veggies which is like the main part of veggie bowl then wanted new red sauce and they were out asked the Asian lady how dont u have any her response was we just didn't make it idk how u open doors without all your stuff what does staff do before u open they need to have everything ready at start of the day what is this left and didn't buy my bowl very frustrating
