Raku Central Park South Reviews
I love Raku it's Japanese! The food is great and the attention is great, the Bento box with pork katsu is amazing! It was very cool that the waiter remembered that i liked Sapporo because I came yesterday and he offered it again. Super sushi deluxe was very very very good and full of amazing flavor! Would definitely come back again ❤️
A true gem!! Came here after a day at the natural history museum. Our table got 2 bento boxes and a bowl of ramen and WOW! The quality of the bento was insane; great price for what it is. Every dish was amazing and service was so great. Very cozy!! Truly a gem cant wait go back next time. I was very happy here
Favorite sushi place hands down. They are speedy and delicious every time and incredibly welcoming to regulars and newcomers alike. Always worth going out of my way to come to Raku (II)!!!
Highly recommend. Great place we always go to when visiting the city. Sushi is fantastic every time; lots of different options, and always fresh and delicious. Reasonably priced and so worth it. Service is always super fast and friendly. We've recommended this place to friends, and they too have enjoyed it.
We had the Bento box and it was so flavorful! I loved the Teriyaki Chicken and salmon avocado sushi rolls. Green Tea ice cream was the perfect way to finish! Service was exceptional - very attentive. Definitely recommend.
I couldn't rave more about great food, service and atmosphere. It felt like we were in Japan and the food was well prepared. I tried black seaweed and will never eat the green again. I had a bentonite box, oldest daughter had udon and wife with youngest eating a fish soup. Wow. And they check on you frequently, refill drinks quick and make you really enjoy the meal. I recommend you go here for affordable Japanese in this part of town and plan to return next time we visit New York.
Came here for a light meal before visiting the museum. The staff was friendly and helpful, recommending some of the best sellers. Had the millionaire signature roll, nabeyaki udon and a bottle of beer. The signature roll was lightly sweet, cruchy and delicious. The udon was warm and hearty. Great meal!
I had an amazing solo date at Raku, and I can’t recommend it enough! The food was incredible, from the fresh sushi to the delicious sides, everything was on point. The customer service was equally fantastic—the employees were friendly, attentive, and made me feel so welcome. If you’re looking for a great sushi spot with an inviting atmosphere, Raku is definitely the place to go! Highly recommended.
This is one of my favorites for sushi rolls in the city when I’m feeling like something a bit more creative than the traditional salmon or tuna. They have a wide selection, always very fresh, and reasonably priced. Plus the staff here are just all super friendly and nice. A winning combo that keeps me coming back!
Stopped in here for lunch and they Ave a great lunch special that comes with a soup or salad. Sushi was super fresh and each roll was a nice size. Ginger dressing was the best I’ve ever had. Service was excellent and everyone was friendly. Definitely a solid find on the Upper West Side on 76 and Columbus.
I randomly found this gem of a Japanese place while looking for cheap eats. I was not expecting such good quality food for the price. The scallop teriyaki was fantastic, the fillet mignon was perfectly cooked, and their lunch special sushi roll combos were very filling and great quality for the price. For appetizers, we tried the yellowtail jalapeno and mixed mushrooms, both of which were superb. I'll definitely visit again when I'm in Manhattan.
It was a cold day, so we wanted some hot ramen. The spicy miso ramen was made from chicken broth instead of the usual pork broth and thus tasted a little less rich than expected. Broth was too salty for me... but the braised meat was nice and tender. Tables and seats were a little tight so it wasn't very comfortable.
This restaurant is NOT the same as the Raku that’s known for their udon. We only realised after we’d waited half an hour for our table and were given the menu. The food was ok, nothing special. The bento box was good value for money, but there are definitely better options in the city for sushi. If you live in the neighbourhood, I can understand enjoying having this restaurant as your local, but as a tourist, it was a waste of a meal. The biggest issue we had was that we were seated by the back of the restaurant where the toilet was located and we kept getting unpleasant smells every time the bathroom door opened.
The sushi was good. However I was with a group and they ordered more things than me and agreed to tip on my behalf after we all split the bill evenly. I was charged a 20% tip regardless and when I called they said they couldn’t do anything about it. I hate to leave a one star, but technically they stole money from me and added a tip on top of my bill even though the entire group tipped 25%. Do better, it’s not a good look! At the very least, you can apologize. Now your entire rating goes down and someone will read this review and decide not to spend money because there are tons of places who don’t do this to customers.
