Lovely really enjoyed our time here. Nice clean place visually pleasing nice atmosphere. Plenty of attentive staff. Food was great good portion size. Price was in line with most Indian restaurants in the area. My only moan is that the soft drinks where expensive. Would definitely recommend and revisit soon.

I’ve tried so many Indians but the sultan is definitely one of the best around 😍 they will cook what ever you want with big portions and the staff are so friendly

Impeccable service, went in after a show at the theatre at 10pm. We were greeted and served with aplomb even though they were just getting ready to close up for the evening. The food was unbelievably fresh, Bhaji’s crispy and fresh even though it was late in the day made to order. Dansak was on point, madras of my brothers was fantastic. 10/10 for these lads and extra hospitality and chatter even though they had clearly had a busy day. Would love to revisit when I get the opportunity.

Absolutely delicious. Whenever i’m in the area i’m sure to visit. Great service. Superb portions. No greasy curries here. Lovely and tasty and at a good price. They even have a B&B on site now (I will try that soon!) Bobby is an excellent employee. What a star! Thanks Bobby

Came here for my boyfriends mums birthday. And it was amazing, the food was delicious (unfortunately I didn't take a picture as I was too hungry to take one 😂) and service from the 3 gentlemen was top notch and did everything for us. We cant thank you enough and we will definitely be back. ❤️

The food was fantastic we ordered a sharing starter and a lamb dhansak to share with 2 naans. This was our first time visiting and we will definitely be back. The staff were lovely and very attentive, the service was fantastic. Thank you all and we will be back!

We came in tonight and was served by an amazing waiter, Bobby. He was super attentive, friendly and made sure we was ok the whole time! I’ve never had such good service before and will be coming back just to see Bobby again. The whole family was absolutely took back by how good his service was. The food was also absolutely delicious. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Absolutely fantastic evening. Kind and attentive service, great atmosphere, superb food choices and quality and reasonable prices. Great wine list too. We (4 of us) were even offered an 'on the house' new dish to taste, plus choice of after dinner drinks. Cannot fault this place. Highly recommend. A*. Note: You can park in their hotel car park right next door. Just remember to register your number plate with the restaurant on arrival.

Sultan Restaurant deserves every bit of its 5-star rating! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a beautifully inviting ambiance. The decor strikes the perfect balance between elegance and comfort, setting the stage for a truly memorable dining experience. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was a symphony of flavors, perfectly cooked, and presented with care. The kebabs were tender and flavorful, the hummus was creamy and rich, and the baklava was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. You can tell they use the freshest ingredients and authentic recipes. The staff were attentive and friendly, always making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The service was quick, but we never felt rushed. If you’re looking for a restaurant that offers incredible food, excellent service, and a delightful atmosphere, Sultan Restaurant is the place to go. We’ll definitely be coming back for more! We’ve been to the Sultan twice in the last week. We are so thoroughly impressed with the whole restaurant and service (special mention to Jay and Redvin). They were all so lovely and friendly, with them accommodating our needs. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to go. We were seated quickly with starters almost immediately. The food was brought out quickly and all piping hot and fresh. Was so impressed with the place. Cannot wait to go back again.

Large party from age 5mths to 60s celebrating 40th birthday. My 5 year old first experience at an Indian restaurant. We were not disappointed! A lovely looking and clean restaurant, such polite and attentive staff , and delicious food! Prices averaged out to around £20 pp give or take including drinks and portions generous enough a few of us boxed up our leftovers and took them home! Boxes and bags provided by restaurant. We were there on a Sunday night and pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves. Which was lovely for us but I felt a bit sad for the restaurant as they really are fab! If you are deciding on a restaurant I recommend giving this a try, I don't think you would be disappointed! They also do a delivery service. I don't eat out or buy takeaways often but this will now be my go to for Indian food! Haven't opted on vegetarian or dietary requirements in this review as wasn't something I had to consider. But I have no doubt these guys would accommodate. Thank you to the staff for being so accommodating!

My Husband and I visited for the first time last night. We have always driven past but never been in. The staff are very welcoming and attentive to your needs. The food is served at a good rate allowing you time to digest and chat. We ordered a fair amount of food but could not eat lol of it so took it home with us. The atmosphere was lovely, calm and elegant. The food was amazing and so full of flavour. The price was realistic which makes a nice change. We had such a lovely evening and will definitely return now we know that there is free parking at the back.

Another perfect meal in this beautiful restaurant. The food is so full of flavour and so much of it. The service is impeccable, tentative, polite and such great flavours, we asked to move tables as a big party was celebrating a birthday, this was no trouble at all, highly recommend the Sultan. Tried the Monchurian chicken curry and was pleasantly surprised . Very nice. restaurant, very clean and tidy, very quick with table service and keeping drinks topped up.

We booked a table at The Sultan Restaurant because we had a takeaway about a month ago and it was absolutely delicious 😋 so when friends asked for suggestions for a local Indian restaurant, we doesn’t hesitate to put this forward as a suggestion😊 we booked a table for 7 o’clock and arrived on time with our friends and were greeted by very friendly staff who showed us to our table which was all ready for us. They served us some drinks and poppadoms straight away and said they would be back to take our order 😊 after about 10 minutes of waiting we asked if they could take our order and they said somebody would be with us soon 😊 they then took our starter and main course orders at about 7:30 🙂 it then took another hour and a half for them to finally bring up our starters after several times of asking where our food was ☹️ It was a shame that it took so long for our food to come up because when it arrived as before it was absolutely delicious and you couldn’t fault the quality of the food served 👍 looking back on it. I wonder if they prioritise takeaways in the kitchen and that is why it takes so long for the food to be served in the main dining area 🤔 our friend said they enjoyed the food very much but maybe next time when we all get together, we order a takeaway and don’t eat at the restaurant 😎 I would recommend the Sultan restaurant because the food is delicious but if you come and eat in be prepared for a slow service 😎

Nice food , nice staff, but waited 2 hours for food and was seated in rear of restaurant in cold room with the heating not working in that area shame but food could not fault loads of it and nice Taste soft chicken cooked perfect

The GOOD - 1) Friendly staff 2) Nice vibe, good background music 3) Clean (although Men’s toilet dryer not working) The BAD - 1) Really poor for parking, quite stressful to find somewhere 2) Slow service, took 90 minutes to serve the main course ! 3) Really heavily over spiced food. Could not eat the main course , far too hot. Had 2 pieces of chicken, left a full plate of food. Very disappointing. Not recommended by me, sorry.

What on earth was going on in the kitchen this evening, Sultan? My wife and I order from here often, along with eating in the restaurant and tonight's delivery was so unbelievably tasteless! My wife's rogan had next to no flavour what so ever and my keralan seafood curry just tasted burnt. Despite asking for both curries to be extra spicey they were bland and honestly a microwave curry would have more flavour than the rogan we received. I hate giving bad reviews but I also don't like spending a decent chunk of change just to chuck food in the bin. Never had a bad meal from the sultan before but tonight was genuinely awful. After our last order that arrived unbelievably late and tonight's food I really hope the standards are not dropping.

We made the mistake booking a table for valentines day. Arrived 7pm, already some diners said they had been waiting 2 hours. City a long story short, despite take9ordews being done regularly, several tables were complaining We bailed at 9pm, refused to pay for drinks and poppadoms, which they accepted Basically, don't go there on celebration days, as they prioritise takeaway orders over restaurant diners

Placed an order at 7pm with an estimated delivery of 8:25pm. It’s now 10pm and the meal hasn’t arrived, despite JustEat marking it as delivered. We’ve been calling for over an hour with no answer. No food, no communication, and no accountability. This was meant to be our Valentine’s meal and it’s been completely ruined. Extremely disappointing service.

I’m very disappointed I placed an order at 9:47 they said it will take 45 minutes and the food never arrived I called them and they never answered I’m very disappointed reading the reviews. Not so great customer service when they don’t pick up the phone to at least cancel the order.

We had a very disappointing Valentines. We arrived just before 6:30 we left about 7:30. We had 2 spicey popadoms and waited which seemed like a age for a bottle of wine which we didnt recieve. We understood it was Valentines, there were so many staff, though I do feel some were very new. We had asked a waiter if they would like to take our food order, and was informed, Im unable to do that Ill fetch someone. That someone never appeared. So we decided that after people were recieving drinks and food after us, and another customer behind us had been waiting a while for his main course we would leave. To add a further customer service issue we explained to the Head Waiter why we were leaving.. his response blew me away, explaining it was Valentines, and as a curtesy he wouldnt charge us for the popadoms!!. I feel they overbooked which added to the issues so they wasnt really organised. Service was slow, waiters were not attentive, I cant comment on the food. A really poor experience.

I ordered a delivery yesterday Saturday 14th at 6.30pm through Deliveroo and was advised they do the deliveries themselves so no tracking service would be available, I was given a estimated delivery for 7.50 and was advised the Sultan was preparing my food. At 8.20 tried to contact the Sultan by phone and was directed to a answering service, this happened numerous times so no contact was available. At 8.50 I contacted Deliveroo for some help the food was now 1hour late unfortunately Deliveroo advised they could not help owning to them not delivering and the Sultan was preparing my food (for a whole hour so far) I told Deliveroo that if my order was not delivered by 9.30 I would refuse to accept it and cancel the order and require a full refund. I was asked to leave it with them to see what they could do, the delivery was eventually cancelled at 9.45ish with a full refund. Quiet obviously to me no preparation had ever started. Such a unprofessional way of handling my order and ongoing communication problems that followed is unacceptable.

I recently dined at The Sultan Restaurant, and I am deeply disappointed by the experience. While I had heard good things about this place, my visit was far from pleasant. To my horror, I found a cockroach in my food. This is absolutely unacceptable and speaks volumes about the hygiene standards of the restaurant. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, their response was dismissive and unprofessional. They did not offer any apology or resolution, leaving me feeling unheard and disrespected. This experience has completely shattered my trust in The Sultan Restaurant, and I will not be returning. I strongly urge potential customers to think twice before dining here, as cleanliness and customer care seem to be severely lacking.

Group of 10 that took nearly 2 hours just to get out food and every food was far below par. Better good else where for a lot quicker time and the English menu... Forget it as it's not an English menu at all
