This place is a true gem! We came here to celebrate our anniversary, and the entire experience was exceptional. • Service: While there was a bit of a wait for our table, the staff went above and beyond to make it right by comping our first drinks and appetizers. Our server was attentive and friendly all night. Truly impeccable service. • Personal Touches: The biggest surprise was the custom menus they printed for us with our names and a "Happy Anniversary" message. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made our night feel incredibly special. They also gave us a free dessert. • Food: Absolutely delicious! Every single dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor! Definitely do not skip the mussels!
It’s all about that Vibe! Wow, what a delightful dining experience at Gemini. Came here with the Mrs for pre-Vday dinner. The host was kind enough to seat us in a booth near the window - providing more space and privacy. And, from there everything was A++. Our server was a gem, food so flavor and the night ended with a rose brought to our Table. My only “slight complaint” - an old fashion should come w/ a big rock? Still, 5-Star all the way!!
The three-sided bar was hopping at 5pm on a Friday. I ordered the steak frites and a glass of red wine—it was the perfect end to a long wintry week. Service was excellent. I will be back!
We had the most extraordinary dining experience, great food, wonderful drink pairings, great service- don’t think I have ever had a better meal experience. Thank you Kyle, Meghan, Zach and Tom - don’t think we will ever feel that spoiled ever again! You made my friend’s birthday celebration one to remember! While the scallops were amazing, the steak tartare was excellent, and the peach cobbler with the dessert wine was impossible to resist even as full as we were! We will be back!
Absolutely incredible experience here. My fiancé and I went here on a date and we were blown away by the service. Zach and Doug made it one of the most memorable, special dates we’ve had in a while. We just got dessert (the cake, which was fantastic) but will definitely be back for a full dinner experience. From making sure we had a vase to put my flowers in to checking in on our experience in a genuine way - this trip felt especially personal. Thank you again to Doug and Zach. We haven’t stopped talking about what great service we got for days. :)
Please forgive me some context: 11 is a special number for my wife and I. October 11, 11 years ago was our first date at Gemini. A year to the day after, we got engaged and again had dinner at Gemini. Of course, we had to come back for the special 11th anniversary of our first date! To say that the entire staff here made a special night that much more special is an understatement. Special shoutouts to Tom, Zach, our server Anna, Megan, and Juan (sorry if I misspelled!)! They prepared a special booth for us complete with roses, had printed a copy of their menu from that fateful day 11 years ago (we remembered exactly what we had ordered), printed congratulatory current menus, a special note, gifted us with special champagne, served a wonderful meal, and followed up with another copy of that older menu that had been signed with such kind notes from some of the staff. It was like love on a plate. We are so thankful that our story is intertwined with such thoughtful, wonderful, and kind people! Go here, eat here, get to know the staff, then come back; you won't regret it!
I love the food here! Everything was flavorful and perfectly portioned. The salmon was cooked good . The dessert was not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. The service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!
Brunch was awesome! Don’t miss out on the french onion frittata, it was so unique and extremely delicious. Prepared perfectly. I also tried their prickly pear bellini and wish I could have ten more. Anna was my server and was such bright energy for my brunch experience thank you. Thank you to all the staff for a genuine and positive experience.
We came here a few weeks ago while in town before we had an engagement at the park west theater. Everything was so good from the cocktails and wine selection to the food and service. I have the salmon which is absolutely amazing and such a nice portion and cooked to perfection.the salad was great also and able to share. The service was great, even though the server mispronounced the “ Wilamette “ valley which is actually “ will- lam- ette “ But that was minor. This place has a very nice ambience and the management would come around and ask how things were, which is a nice added touch.
I had a great time at Gemini. We went on mother's day and enjoyed everything we ordered. The crudite stood out as an excellent appetizer and I rather enjoyed my steak. Its an excellent American style restaurant for bringing guests to.
Went here for brunch they were quite busy on a Sunday, would recommend making reservations if going with a group. Had a turkey club, which was stellar good fries, excellent drinks. Really enjoyed this place. Bit outside of Chicago proper, but not bad to walk to from the loop.
Gemini was such a great dining experience! The food was incredible and the staff were so friendly. The Sunday special friend chicken was amazing and the portion was sharable with an appetizer which we got the Cauliflower and it was so tasty. The mashed potatoes were incredible as well. The atmosphere inside was very lively. There is only street parking which is difficult to find at times. Will recommend and come back!
I knew on my arrival that l'd love the aesthetics of this corner breakfast restaurant, and guess what, I did! Clean and crisp atmosphere with a gorgeous inside and an absolutely beautiful patio with flowers and vines coming from the sunshade frame (totally spacing on the name of those things right now lol). We sat outside, even with hot weather. Nice breeze happening so it was fine, but I like the heat so it's not what everyone would fancy. It was busy inside and out. Service was quick and friendly. Our server, Phillip, was very attentive and told us the daily omelette and popular items. I ordered the daily omelette and switched my side out for fruit. Everything was beautifully presented and on the weekends they offer 90-minute bottomless options for cocktails. I went with the Bloody Mary then had the server randomly select all of the others I ordered. Bloody Mary was a little too seasoned and "thick" at first but once it watered down, it was delicious. My favorite though, was the squirtsky. Except the name (TBD). Gold Rush was good but the bourbon boldness wasn't my fave. And then the Bellini is good for those who like bubbles - my stomach and palate at the moment wasn't cut out for that one. Clean and beautiful bathrooms and the stalls are fun to dance in when listening to the music in isolation 😂 Just a really good time to be had here even if I think Pisces would be a better name OH and the flippin ice was sooo ASMR Imaooo Oh and one other thing - one of the ladies I was with spilled something on her (Worcestershire sauce) and I made a comment asking if they had a Tide stick and they TOTALLY DID! So generous to share that with us to save her outfit. Excellent service!
Great neighborhood spot! We came here with a group of friends, and were able to get seated outside which was lovely. They have such a cute set up outside, so if it's nice enough for that I'd recommend it. Otherwise, indoors is also very beautiful. Everything everyone had was great! This place is a great option for a group because the menu truly has a variety of food. We tried the egg rolls, Burger, risotto, steak Frites and the salad and everyone was very satisfied with their meals! Worth a visit :)
Just very good brunch. Fun and trendy menu with something for everyone, great drinks, and the pastries were amazing. Super cute ambiance and a fun time.
Great brunch options and open air windows on one side in nice weather. Drinks and food were all fantastic and it’s within walking distance g distance to Lincoln Park. We would definitely go again. The Obvious Choice is the most unique, amazing drink I’ve ever had! Cheers to the owner for creating that one. Pastry flight was also great.
We recently dined at Gemini and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the perfect tone for the evening. The food was exceptional—each dish was a delightful blend of flavors, beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. It's clear that the chefs at Gemini put a lot of thought and care into their menu. A special thanks to Chris, who served us with such professionalism and friendliness. His attentive service truly enhanced our dining experience, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Chris’s recommendations were spot on, and his knowledge of the menu was impressive.
We had the heirloom tomato salad and the wedge salad and they were very tasty. I've been back there a few times since then and tried different dishes, and everything was pretty good. Their espresso martini is fantastic and so is their old fashioned. I'd skip the risotto and the hanger frites dish. Cute neighborhood spot with a bistro vibe.
Overall solid brunch spot for families/friends. Super popular though. I recommend either reserving or coming at an off hour or see if u can eat at the bar. Patio is nice but it gets super windy and there is little to no protection at the ends from the wind. There are heat lamps but if youre sitting at the end the heat doesnt quite reach you.... Food was solid and reasonably (maybe slightly more expensively) priced. Service was good and even though it was busy it was easy to flag someone down.
highly recommend coming here to celebrate a birthday. they went above and beyond with little surprises, including a customized menu and complimentary sweets! thank you to the gemini staff for making it such a special birthday brunch. definitely recommend the steak and eggs, spicy chicken sandwich, and the cinnamon roll. all were 10/10
I enjoyed eating here. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Tataki and it was great. The tuna was cooked well, had a lot of flavor, and the rice was paired perfectly. I also got the FKG drink and I highly recommend to anyone trying this place out. We also got truffle fries and Brussel sprouts which were both good too. The staff was very attentive and the interior is modern. My only complaint is that it was quite loud in the dinning room and is hard to hear the person across from you.
I was searching for a place that had good espresso martinis, and GEMINI was recommended. They did not disappoint! I ordered two espresso martinis, and both were wonderfully made and tasteful. While we did not order any food this time, I would like to return to GEMINI to get food. The Parmesan truffle fries looked delicious! Atmosphere: Inside, it is a dark, but lively setting. There was music playing and a lively crowd which I liked. The bar was beautiful. Bathrooms are clean too, which is always a plus! There is also an option to sit outside on the heated patio, which we decided to do. It was a chilly night and we still stayed warm with the heaters, which I was pleased with. The patio looks beautiful in the fall! Overall, I highly recommend GEMINI and I am looking forward to coming back!
This is my 4th time at Gemini. I invited two friends to join me and they were both happy with the food and service. Our server Sheylan ( I think) was so much fun. The food was amazing. Although my two other friends thought the Berkshire pork chop I ordered was so so. Will definitely come back. BTW, Velvet Old Fashioned was also great! Thank you for a wonderful evening.
**Gemini Restaurant on Lincoln Avenue** Gemini Restaurant on Lincoln Avenue is a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious meal and impeccable service. The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly, and they go above and beyond to make sure that every guest has a wonderful dining experience. I started my meal with a Gamlet, which is a refreshing and flavorful cocktail. The Parker House rolls that came out next were light and fluffy, with the perfect hint of salt. For my appetizer, we had the wedge salad, which was delicious and topped with unique bacon bits. For a main course, we ordered the steak frites, which was cooked perfectly and served with delicious truffle fries. We also ordered the mushroom risotto, which was perfectly creamy and cooked al dente. We both enjoyed our meals thoroughly, and we were very impressed with the quality of the food. To end our meal, we ordered espresso martinis, which were the perfect way to cap off a delicious evening. The espresso martinis were strong and flavorful, and they were made with high-quality ingredients. Overall, I had an amazing dining experience at Gemini Restaurant on Lincoln Avenue. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the cocktails were top-notch. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special dining experience. **Highlights:** * Amazing service * Gamlet cocktail is a refreshing and flavorful way to start the meal * Parker House rolls are light and fluffy with the perfect hint of salt * Wedge salad is delicious with unique bacon bits * Brussels sprouts are tasty * Steak frites are cooked perfectly with delicious truffle fries * Mushroom risotto is at the perfect level of creaminess and cooked al dente * Espresso martini is a nice way to cap off the meal
We had a great time at Gemini (June Gem!), and the staff were all super nice. Its my daughter's 13 birthday, and they even gave her a slice of cake with a candle. Thank you for making it so special for her!
Every time we come here we have a great experience. The drinks are delicious. Ask for the non-alcoholic ones, with alcohol. :-) we ordered the tomato and peach salad, it was so fresh and delicious I could eaten one every day. Do not leave without getting the lamb meatballs. Holy wowzers. Trust me, if you like delicious, get the meatballs. My only complaint is that there’s not enough, I want at least 10 each time. The patio is great and the service is great. Make sure to also ask for bread $6 UNREAL. I’m so happy this restaurant is in my neighborhood. <3
Very good! Service was friendly, very attentive, and checked in multiple times. We did not have to wait long for the server either. Very good food. Very filling. Warning: alcoholic drinks are strong (~70% alcoholic ~30% juice).
This was the best place I have ever been in Chicago Bill was only 85$ with five people. Bathrooms are super clean wanted to take pictures but I wanted to give people some privacy. 5 stars
Came in today for brunch with my girlfriends and we had an amazing time! Our food was delicious and the service was phenomenal. Fernando was our server and he was awesome, attentive and very kind!! He was great. Overall great experience, will come back!
Wowowow. My partner and I went here for our anniversary, and holy cow! It's beautiful inside, the food is delicious, and the service is so warm and friendly. Definitely in my top five meals in Chicago, for sure. Cannot wait to come back. Thank you for such a special night!
The manager Zachary made my anniversary dinner with my wife feel so much more special than I could’ve imagined. He arranged such beautiful flowers and gave us complimentary white wine. It was everything I could’ve wished for. Love this place so much! Will come back again for sure!
Wow!! I was exhausted after a day of traveling to visit my son who just started college. I took him and his roommates out for dinner and Kate made us feel welcomed and at home. Her food recommendations were spot on and the IPA I enjoyed was exactly what I needed to end the day. Kate's a rockstar and we will definitely be back.
Had the best experience at Gemini! Upon being seated, the host saw we brought a bouquet of flowers and asked what we were celebrating. When we told him it was an engagement, he quickly printed custom menus and we were given a celebratory round of champagne and a dessert. This was in addition to fabulous service and delicious food! Gemini went above and beyond and this will absolutely be my new celebration spot!
Visited Gemini during my family’s visit for Chicago Marathon weekend and had an amazing experience. Our waiter was probably the best I’ve had in my life. The way he talked about food was poetic and made me want to order every dish, unfortunately we didn’t have big enough stomachs to order all of them but the ones we did get were exceptional. We sat outside under the lights and enjoyed the cozy vibe. So many good things to say about this place, we will most definitely be back next time we visit Chicago.
Had an excellent birthday dinner here last night, one of the best meals I've ever had in a restaurant. Our server, Sidney, was friendly, helpful, and a terrific server. We shared the Shishito peppers (excellent), and had the specials: salsa macha octopus to start. I'm a huge fan of octopus and I loved the spice and the crema that it came with and it was cooked perfectly. I am a huge fan of the Caesar salad here (think it's the best in the city) but we had the Green Goddess Salad on special and it was superb. So tasty. I had the scallop special and they were cooked perfectly but the corn sauce it came on was out of this world. I would love just a bowl of that! My partner had the Ricotta Dumplings which I tasted and they were terrific. Loved the bit of sweetness in the sauce. As it was my birthday, I had Buck's cake and, though I'm not a cake fan, this one was delicious. Gemini is one of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Honestly, there are SO many restaurant managers who should come here to learn what truly exceptional service is. My friend and I were there on Thur Nov 6 and from the moment we walked through the door and were greeted until a sincere goodbye when we left, the people are just amazing. After having a reservation, we ultimately chose to eat at the bar because the bartenders were fantastic. My friend did note in the reservation that it was my birthday (something I am not a fan of being pointed out !), but they were so sweet about it. When we left, the host even remembered and he wished me another happy birthday. I don't often take time to leave reviews, but this team absolutely needs to know we had a fantastic evening because of them. (Oh, and the food was FANTASTIC! I do not usually order swordfish, but was so glad I did!)
overall, pretty tasty. things were well seasoned (and not overly salty) but certain dishes were a bit dry(?). overall, our group enjoyed our experience
Cool spot for a weekend brunch and before/after park. But online reservations are so limited. You may risk and check availability in person, but long wait could await. Food is solid, not spectacular. Gets the job done. Despite a simplified menu, service was slow. Coffee was good, though the tiny spoon made stirring in sugar oddly difficult. Pastries? Definitely a highlight! Specially the old fashioned. Also it’s just a short walk from Oz Park, and other restaurants in case you don't get a place here.
Food: I ordered the shaken espresso and the pastry flight. I would personally pass on both given the opportunity again. The shaken espresso wasn't anything special. Not exactly sweet or bitter or high in espresso taste. Just bland ranking. Dull presentation. As for the pastry flight (cinnabon, coffee cake(?), and a blueberry muffin) all 3 tasted as though they were slightly stale, dense, and firm. I was slighlty hoping they would taste fresher, softer, even pre-heated at least. They would pair better with a hot coffee, definitely not an iced espresso. Presentation wise, they appeared pleasing. Just not for me. My lunch was the greens salad with an added glazed salmon. The greens were so hearty mixed in the avocado and dressing. The salmon was moist yet had a nice crisp layer on the outside that wasn't overly sweet. My sister ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was a small portion on her plate, but was incredibly tender and flavorful with the chimmichurri. Skip the coffee and pastries - go straight to the heartier food here. Service: Our server was top-notch. He was witty, charming, and quick to serve and routinely check on our patio table. As soon as he noticed that our patio wasn't leveled, he brought out some plastic tabs to prevent the table from randomly tipping to one leg. He was knowledgeable about the menu and quick with a recommendation after hearing what I was looking for. Atmosphere: Came here with my sister after visiting the Lincoln Park Conservatory Spring Show. Upon arrival, this place was filled to the brim on the inside. So packed that it felt claustrophobic. We opted for patio dining, which was slightly too chilly for us. I came to regret the patio option as the wind picked up. The heaters outside, while lit, did not provide much warmth.
Staff was very nice! Food is good. I like the scallops. The salmon is crispy, good especially with the sauce that comes with it. The outdoor patio is really cute.
By far the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had !!
Great atmosphere with great outdoor & indoor seating. The food was excellent and the libations were quite satisfying, as well. An odd thing is that we ate there twice over 3 days and our server, during each visit, left out a dish that we had ordered. Two different servers who made the same mistake. One, when it was fairly busy, and another when it was not busy at all. That's the only reason why I couldn't give Gemini five stars. The food is great, though. I would still go back and probably will upon my next trip to Chicago.
Met up here with a friend for restaurant week during brunch and was very happy with the experience! I had the bubbly drink option, the cinnamon bun, and the egg scramble and all of them were great! I especially love the egg scramble because the eggs were soft-cooked. I would definitely come back for a different meal or the same thing!
Atmosphere and interior design are especially cozy this time of year. Food is mid at best. The meatballs definitely need to be reworked or taken off the holiday menu. The cuisine is contemporary American, and though we already knew the menu wasn’t particularly exciting or creative, we still wanted to try a new restaurant and show some support. At this price point or less, there are plenty of better options with stronger execution. Chicago is unmatched in contemporary American (easily outshining LA or NYC). The quality of service was their saving grace. The staff made this a positive experience. The food, though, is mediocre and lacking any hint of umami.
Butternut Squash Bisque was great along with the Baja Sea Bass. I tried some of the Pork Shank… and it was only ok. Ice cream was solid, but I will say the desserts were very disappointing overall for restaurant week (especially for $60). I would come back, but not for Restaurant Week as I don't feel it's a good deal for what you get.
I didn't like the iced oat milk latte. It was watery probably a different brand. Good was fine. Love the place, service, and ambience.
My family and I was there yesterday October 25, 2025... We had the shrimp and grits with pickled vegetables side of bacon, side of eggs, and potatoes. The girl was creamy flavorful but the pickled veggies throw the meal off. It gave the meal 2 different taste. We was comp some of our meal but we was charged more than the receipt actual said. Overall it was a nice experience
I use to really like this place but the service makes it an unpleasant dining experience. The bus people will take your plate the second you take your last bite and are constantly trying to clear. They should wait and clear the table all at once instead of constantly interrupting the dinner. They also got rid of the hand written specials sign and replaced it with a video one that makes it even more like a fast casual restaurant. The whole experience feels really rushed and not very elevated.
UPDATE - Second time here. The prices are so high. You spend 30$ on an entree but you still have to spend another 10-14$ for a side? How ridiculous! My chicken lacked flavor and I had to ask for salt to make it tasty. ———————————————————————— I am kinda torn on what you rate this place. We booked reservations to celebrate my gf’s new job offer. Had really high expectations. Our reservation was at 8pm. Got free parking on the street in front. We went 15 mins early and was told to wait. There is no wait area, and the bar was full as well. I kept on seeing people who came after us getting seats. So at 8:15 i approached the manager and asked him what was happening. He convinced me that the people who were getting seated were people who had reservations at 7:30 and 7:45pm. Well then you need to manage reservations better. Anyways we were seated at 8:20-8:25 pm. Really impressed with the service, food was served fast, and our server was very nice. We had the Parker House Rolls for apps. It was really good. We were also given the Grilled Spanish Octopus as a courtesy from the manager. The octopus was just okay, but we were really happy about the gesture from the management. For drinks, we ordered the Danny-O and FKG. They were both good. For entrees, we had the Butternut Squash Ravioli and Flat Iron Frites. The Ravioli was so yum - definitely the highlight of the night. The Steak was a disappointment. For dessert, we had the Brown Butter Apple Tart. It tasted delicious but unfortunately the Tart was undercooked. So not really impressed by the food to be honest. Also not not a fan of the ambience inside. It was very noisy and the table next to us was like so close, it was hard to have a convo. We were expecting a cozy date night. When the checks came in, we realized the Drinks were also paid by the host. Such a nice gesture, because of the wait Im guessing. So we will give this place a try again.
We went to this place specifically because it is low key on a game day. But there were very very over-served drunk people sitting at the bar shouting about how much they hate fat people (not less that 5 times) and screaming at every play of the game. Now I love a good sports bar, but we spent over 300.00 on a meal between the two of us and all we heard was obnoxious drunks. I’d not go back on a game day and probably at all again honestly because the staff did nothing. Good food though :/
