BRU Burger Bar - Cincinnati Cincinnati Reviews
I am in LOVE with their burgers, and the service is honestly stellar. It's an easy to get to location when you're exploring the downtown area, so be sure to pop in or make a reservation, because they are seriously worth it.
This Burger restaurant is absolutely amazing! The service was lovely and the ambiance was elegant and beautiful. The food is high quality bursting with flavor in every bite. The ketchup was homeade and surprisingly robust. You will not be disappointed. I loved my meal and have no regrets with what I ordered!
Great service and great food. Our server was awesome giving us terrific food descriptions which helped us make our selections. I had the garlic cheeseburger and my husband had the bison, yummy. Portion sizes were generous, and price point was appropriate and affordable.
The turkey burger was excellent and tasted smokey which hit the spot. My husbands burger and fries were great. The service was good and the price reasonable.
Decided to try out BRU burger with the homies because it was recommended by Trip Advisor. We got takeout and it was wayyyy better than anticipated. They did a great job preparing our order at the pick up time so that everything was fresh and crispy. We had the BRU burger and the double bacon burger (interestingly the base doesn’t include bacon but you can add it on) with a side of onion ring and fries. The burgers were delicious and I enjoyed the soft brioche buns that were used. Onion rings were crispy and good with the ranch. Bru burger also has their own house ketchup which I feel Is tastier than regular ketchup because it is seasoned. Overall we really enjoyed the take out meal from this restaurant and will definitely be coming back.
Came here for lunch today with a friend. Service was good, our waitress made sure we always had water, which was appreciated on this hot day. We started with the BBQ pork nachos. Those were delicious, and I like that they put the guac and sour cream on the side so you can put how much you want on the nachos. I ordered the white cheddar truffle burger. That was so good! It's a big burger and they ACTUALLY cooked it medium rare! Wow! I had never heard of truffle corn before, but it accompanies the burger quite well! And it was $14. Not bad!
Took my mom on vacation to see the Ark and Creation Museum. We had no plans for dinner, but I wanted to eat in Cincinnati, so we picked BRU found on Google Maps. Boy, I'm glad we did. Coming form a Chicago guy who knows food, this place was very impressive. It was super easy to set our reservation thru Google Maps. When we arrived, we were cheerfully greeted and seated quickly. Waitress was pleasant and on spot serving us. Both my Mom and I got the Bacon Burgers. We were both impressed, and pleased with the taste, looks, temperature, and presentation. Needless to say both burgers disappeared relatively quickly. In short, I highly recommend checking this place out. It was clean, modern, welcoming. All-around pleasant experience.
Perfection! I'm not a huge burger person to start with and these burgers were great! Especially happy because they have gluten free buns. The fries were really good and I loved the pear cosmo. Our food came out fast and we went around 6pm on a Saturday. Our server, Kiesha, was great and attentive. The atmosphere was fun but laid back. And reasonable prices for a city restaurant. There is patio seating.
During my brief time in Cincinnati, I searched for the best burger I could find. Bru Burger Bar was at the top of the list. I ended up getting the Mexicali burger with queso on the side. Unfortunately fries do not come with the burger, but I ordered a side of fries. The burger was downright delicious. If you ever do a takeout order, make sure they add ketchup. They have their own homemade ketchup.
Gluten Free menu!! Okay guys, all I can say is YUM!!! I had the Stilton Burger- Fresh made bun, pear-bacon jam, blue cheese, spinach & crispy fried onions. Don’t judge till you try it, the flavors just match. I’m still craving it and will make it a regular spot to go. We had a Celiac‘s person in our group so finding a restaurant she can eat at is a challenge. But they have a full gluten free menu and they use a separate fryer/area for prep; to avoid cross contamination. Oh and their homemade ketchup is absolutely to die for. I don’t even like ketchup, but this was absolutely incredible. Service was on point, very clean and super cute decor/aesthetic. It’s in downtown on 6th Street, we had no trouble finding parking in a garage across the street. There is plenty of street parking though, you just have to look.
Great atmosphere and great food! I have gluten intolerance, and they were very attentive to that. They have a gluten free menu and gluten free buns which were delicious! Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and talked me into a lamb burger. My side salad was extra, but it could have been a meal on it's own--worth the money to eat here!
I stumbled across Bru Burger as I was looking for a place to eat near my hotel and found many eateries were actually closed on a Monday evening - and I'm glad I found it! I got take-out, but I find the environment to be welcoming - I somewhat regretted not dining in once I walked in. On a Monday night, there were only a handful of other diners, so it wasn't noisy. From observation, the servers seemed very attentive to their diners, and genuinely friendly while being professional and efficient. I ordered the Baja Salmon Sandwich, and although it sounded good, I honestly didn't have high expectations, thinking this would be typical bar food. However, I couldn't have been more wrong - the sandwich was exquisite! The salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked - a light crust on the outside, and tender, moist, and flaky - it was almost a shame to have this good of a piece of salmon on a sandwich. The guacamole, black bean aioli with spinach were the perfect compliment of flavors - I absolutely loved this sandwich! The fries were nicely seasoned - they were a bit soggy in my take out container, but I'd expect they would hand been presented crispier if served on a plate if I'd dined in - they appeared to have been cooked fresh. I'll definitely be back next time I travel to Cincinnati - highly recommended!
Got a snack sized Patty Melt and fries to go. It was delicious!! The fries are so good, they taste hand cut. I also requested the house ketchup and the black pepper mayo. Amazing!! Service was also quick and efficient. I placed an order online and it was ready as promised with all customizations requested.
Visited BRU Burger before taking in BLINK on Friday night. Their reservations had been full, but we only waited about 10 minutes after being quoted 20 (they asked if we could be out in an hour, which I was fine with). They have some inventive burgers on the menu, and ours were good, including my Honey BBQ burger (see pic). The patties are not enormous, but the overall burger with toppings is quite filling. They don't ask how you want it cooked, and it seems they aim for a medium-well doneness. My wife had a salad that looked very good. Service was great, and the front staff were of good cheer and really working to get those waiting, seated. Nice draft beer selection too, as the BRU name implies!
Fabulous time. Onion rings were delicious but heavy on the stomach. I recommend this appetizer be split with four people OR plan to take it home. Cooks up great in an air fryer the next day. Garlic burger was THE. BEST. BURGER. I. HAVE. EVER. HAD. Katie, our server, was excellent as well.
This burger joint on 6th & Walnut is quite lovely. We were greeted kindly and they have dine in which these days is a luxury it almost seems. I got the Double Bacon Burger and it was delicious. The burger looked like it came off the page of an advertisement. It was literally 6 or 7 inches high! Fries were perfect and they must have put some kind of seasoning in the ketchup because even that tasted special somehow. Great Date Night Location! +Parking less than a block away!!
Onion rings are huge and have a crunchy delicious exterior. The lamb burger is a beautiful balance of flavors. Spicy pomegranate margarita had a kick but also still has a sweet pomegranate flavor.
Lively place downtown with amazing onion rings. Portobello mushroom burger was a little greasy and salty but still pretty tasty. Service was great.
The best burger I've had in a long time. And there's gluten free options which I was super excited about. Only thing I wish they would have done is given me is the option to purchase GF french fries without any cross-contamination. However the fruit was good.
We found this place really nice. nice staff and great food. The beer that was offered to us was really good. The portions are generous and the burgers are really tasty. Recommended
Great service and quickly served out lunch. The Cobb salad is amazing and the guacamole tasted so fresh! Outside dining was very nice with the fans blowing. The spicy sauce with onion rings was a great flavor, some of the best rings I’ve had. Hearty burgers, so be prepared for a nap afterwards!
If you want to taste gourmet burger then visit this place. They have a pretty good variety of burgers and patties. You can choose chefs burgers and sandwiches with options of regular ham burger, bison meat burger, chicken, turkey, black bean patty for vegetarians etc.. I had the New Yorker with regular ham burger which comes with pastrami and caramelized onions. It was a pretty big burger for me! Taste was excellent! Their onion rings are very crunchy but a little oily, tastes good though. I've seen my teammates having the melt in your face which is famous for being spice and they loved it. Their vegetarian options are also good. The portions were pretty big and so was the price! But I guess chef gourmet burger in downtown usually are usually expensive. I liked our server, Patrick, who helped me choose the delicious burger!
Came to Cincinnati for the weekend, and my family and I decided to stop by and try this place. Honestly, it was one of the best places I've been to in a long while. Pictured is their Three Cheese Garlic burger with fries: had a bit too much garlic for my tastes, but it was still delicious regardless. Plus the staff and atmosphere were pleasant. Can't wait to come here again 😀
Big, big fan of this place! Must go there for their amazing onion rings any time I'm in town, mouth watering. Good array of burger options and they will swap a vegetarian Impossible patty on any of them. Good atmosphere and nice outdoor seating for when the weather is nice.
So eventhough there was a bit of an issue with my meal....this place gets 5 stars in all other areas!! Eva was FANTASTIC and made my day, the manager made it right with the meal and I will come back here 100% because of the great customer service!! Fries were excellent and hot!!
We stopped in for a late dinner, and I’m glad that we did! I ordered the Bru hot chicken with a side of onion rings. Everything was seasoned well and tasted great! The onion rings also came with a side of their house made ketchup, which was delicious! Overall such a tasty meal!
One of the best burgers I've ever had & I'm a burger snob. Juicy, flavorful and cooked perfectly. They pay excellent attention to detail with all their food. Service was excellent and great ambiance. Highly recommend
Had the mushroom burger, one of the best burgers that I've had in a long while. Service was professional and efficient. Can't wait to return.
Food was excellent. Came out hot and tasted fresh and amazing. Our servers were some of the best I've ever had. Always stopping by to make sure everything was taken care of. The resturant was easy to get to and had plenty of parking lots near by to chose from.
The service was good and the food was even better! My daughter went on about how delicious and tender her chicken strips were. I had a bunless double bacon burger, and it too was delicious 😋! My husband had the Mexicali burger, which has white queso, pickled jalapeños, guacamole, fried onion, house Chipotle BBQ sauce, lettuce, and tomato. He couldn't say enough positive things about it. Everything is À la carte except for the snack burger and fries special for $7. I was expecting it to be a small burger, but it was the same size as mine. Parking is difficult because it is downtown Cincinnati.
The Burgers Are Delicious! Nice elegant burger bar with nice cocktails! For the price of the hamburgers, you'd think it would come with fries, but no, this is another Cincinnati place that sells hamburgers w/o fries! Even without the fries the Burgers are still worth it.
I was in Cincinnati on a business trip. Was in the downtown area wanted to grab something to eat. Bru burger was close so I and my wife decided to check it out. The first thing ill like to point out is that it's a somewhat fancy restaurant and if you decide to dine in make reservations ahead of time. Wait time was 5 - 10 minutes and we were greeted, seated, and had our menus. It's a clean friendly environment, kid-friendly from what I've seen at the time I was there. The food isn't too expensive but some will look at other places and feel they do better for a cheaper price. The wait time on the food was minimal and the waiters are very attentive while you wait. Once on got my food it was fresh and very good. I got the Mexicali Burger and a bowl of fruit and my wife got a Memphis BBQ Melt with Chili fries. But if you're in the downtown Cincinnati area I highly recommend giving this place a try.
Great time, wonderful food and clean dining. Service was wonderful. Our food was served in a timely manner. Not sure if service had anything to do with the hostess asking us if we had a reservation. When we said no, she said "well we have a reservation @ 6:30pm". It was approximately 5:10 pm I guess that was a nod to us finishing up quickly😂😂. I did see other tables open, I'm assuming we didn't interfere with the 6:30 reservations we finished and left @6:15pm .😂 It was a great place for a burger.
Delicious burgers! I got the three cheese garlic burger and it was very flavorful and really tasty. My husband got the lamb burger and he really enjoyed it as well. The vibe of the restaurant is very nice and hip. Will definitely be returning.
Ordered the Melt Your Face burger medium well. It had the kick I was looking for, but not the complexity I was seeking. The atmosphere was pretty good. We were seated quickly and service was prompt, given it was a Monday evening. I would come again to try the other burgers they had. Not exceptional, but quite good.
Decent beer selection with local (50 west) and national (Sam adams, fat tire) on draft. Chose the lamb burger which was very well made medium rare, good salty crust. The bug could be better, it came soggy from the sauce and juices. Fries were ok, good house made ketchup sauce (was a little too sweet for me personally but it is well made).
I'm not huge on burgers, but I was in the mood for one and figured I would stop in. The menu had more variety than I would have anticipated for a burger bar. There are salads, and you can swap out chicken or turkey, and the desserts looked good too. I got the Bru Burger, which is more of a classic type and it was good. More greasy than I would have liked, but I ordered it medium and that was spot on.The fries were great, and so was the homemade ketchup/tomato jam. I saw some of the onion rings go by and they looked awesome too. I was impressed with the burbon selection, and the pricing per pour was what I would expect. The burgers on the other hand seem expensive, but the ingredients were fresh and the portion was pretty large. I could only eat half of mine. The music was good, and the lighting was cool. It's a tendy restaurant that fits the area well. Overall, I would recommend trying it if you haven't.
The food is a hit - a bit on the greasy side so no 5 star from me but if you're into omega greasy (delicious) burgers with doughy, flakey, crispy onion rings, Bru is a great stop. The atmosphere was great, I just don't know what it's like after sundown I only had the Bru burger (with bacon) and onion rings so I couldn't tell you much else about the menu. Dont expect Heineken nor Sam Adam's Boston Lager (another reason it's a 4 stars for me)!
The atmosphere is relaxing plenty of large televisions to hang out and watch sports events. The mushroom Swiss burger was lightly seasoned onion rings, french fries are made fresh in house and are extra add on for additional 2.25 dollars. They have a full bar
Nice ambience, great food and good staff. Bru burger has quite a few no meat options. You could substitute any burger with black bean patty. Also their triple dip appetizer was amazing. I had a good time there. The pricing was fair and service was good too.
Valencia salad with grilled salmon- delicious! Had an early supper with kids in tow. They were satisfied with handmade tenders, not gooey Mac and cheese, and fruit. We used the horseradish mustard with onion rings, too. Our server (Adam?) was great.
Good place for downtown lunch, after work drinks/food, or just hanging out for the evening. Atmosphere is lively. Open air bar means steet noise is part of the experience. Food is fine, prices are decent, and staff is awesome. I had the impossible burger; very good presentation as well as taste. I'll be back.
I tried the Impossible burger and ordered a medium well burger. I was very surprised how like meat it was and love the crunchy bits of grilled meat texture. I ordered the Impossible Hikiole with guacamole and Cucumber Mango Pineapple Relish. Yum. Made it juicy and just right. Sadly, the bun turned soggy as I was eating due to the relish. Maybe add a slice of cheese as a barrier to the bun? i would certainly come back for more.
The Southern Burger was delicious, though the BBQ nachos weren’t quite as amazing. Our server, Christian, did a fantastic job—even on his very first day! He was attentive, friendly, and made the experience much better. Overall, it was a good visit and a solid experience!
Always have a good meal here! We get burgers and fries. Always taste good. Seasoned and the homemade ketchup is one of our favorites. Only downside is service is very hit or miss, we had to ask other servers for refills because we hadn't seen our server after eating most of our meal with empty 4 dollar drinks.
Burger was good. Mine was cooked well done unfortunately which is not what I ordered. I got the southern burger which has pimento, bacon, and tomato jam and the combination was good, but the burger was lacking. The shape of the burgers made me think they are frozen unfortunately. Probably won't be back. For the price, I expected a better quality burger. My friend had the onion rings and said they were good! She also said the ranch was homemade and delish.
Bru Burger is located right in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. The menu featured some signature "chef" burgers, craft beers and full service liquor bar. I had the chicken sandwich and my wife had a regular hamburger nothing fancy. We also ordered a (whiskey)brownie with ice cream for dessert. The restaurant has an array of seating both inside and out. We went on the 4th of July and they were short staffed. Our waiter stated it was his 2nd week and it showed. Which is why I only gave 3 stars. Also the black carpet on the ceiling was a bit odd. But overall a decent place to eat.
We ordered from here for delivery because we tried another Bru Burger bar in the past and liked it. We ordered 3 milkshakes and they packed them in the bag with the hot food, so of course they weren't milkshakes anymore by the time they got to us. My burger was not cooked properly, had a ton of pink, and was missing expensive toppings. All this aside the quality of the actual burger patty wasn't great and I don't think I would have enjoyed it had it been cooked right. I called and spoke with a staff member who said the manager would reach out, but they never did.
Food was good when I finally got it nearly an hour later. The bartender was overwhelmed and could not focus. Others ordered and ate before I even got my food. I finally asked. Something was said about the app not working and an under breath request to whom I assume was the manager a rush order to get my food. I was given 20% off my check for inconvenience. Frankly it should have been free. The atmosphere was nice but the wait staff were chaotic at best. Constant complaining and gossiping… dropping glasses… lacked professionalism for certain.
Came in at 8:15. Looked at her watch and said btw we close in 30. We were so hungry and i have a gluten allergy and i saw good reviews on this. We walked out because i was nervous i wouldn’t be taken care of. She rolled her eyes at us and we left. Had the friendliest group of people with us. I will try again when she’s not working
