BEST BREAKFAST BURRITOS. They're so delicious and filling and reasonably priced. I get them for my coworkers every month. Burrito Friday is the best day.

Quick Stop at The Lucky Star Cafe and Mexican Grill, we only had 20 mins until our next Metro Bus and needed a place out of the hot sun. The Metro Bus Line placed us right in front of this Restaurant, so we decide to grab a quick sandwich or Burger there. The establishment had several booths and was clean and decent. I sat down in a booth with a clear window of the Metro Bus Stop, and my son went to place our order, I could hear him explaining about our time limit (less than 20 mins.), the cashier, said it would not be a problem, ten minutes later we were eatting our meal. Caught the Metro Bus on time. First impression about this place, left me feeling good about the visit and the food.

Our go to spot. We bring all our employees here for lunch on a weekly basis. Can’t thank the chefs and staff enough. Great tasty food

I GOT THE CHICKEN ENCHILADA PLATE….., & OMG IT WAS SSOOOOO GOOD NO LIE TOLD. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. Born and raised in Compton and I live in Fresno now every time I get off the 91 freeway to go to Compton that's my first stop and I always get a Pastrami sandwich chopped with extra pickles and mustard and the meat is just right for me..👍👍👌

The food is soooo good. The messed up my burger today and didnt give me avacado or bacon which i paid for but im sure they'll make it right with me. I enjoy this location, the food,and the people there!!!!

I’ve been coming here for years, I tend to stick to my same orders. I always get the chicken dinner which is always crispy along with its side of fries and salad for a palette cleanser. It never fails. Especially their ranch as a side, it’s probably one of the best ranch I’ve had in comparison to other fast food restaurants. Ps if you’re leaving a review, “food was ok but I wouldn’t get it again” is NOT a review. C’mon people, state why it was or wasn’t good. Feedback is important!!

It's a very cozy place, friendly staff and the chef is ready to customize any order which is important to me as a vegan. I get a veggie burrito from here with no cheese or cream, and they customize a "french fries" burrito for me as well which is french fries, tomato, and pickled carrot and onion! Quite tasty must try

Here's the deal, their burger is absolutely SO good. I love the sauce, and the bread is so soft. I only order that. One time I had a grilled cheese because I was having a stomach ache, but every other time was a cheeseburger combo for me. The fries are great about 80% of the time. The cashier always jokes with me, they are good people there. Also, the double cheeseburger is too much, you'll be good with just the cheeseburger. Unless you're a hefty being, in that case, I can't vouch for you.

Great onion rings, burgers, and fries. I wish they had gyros like the other Lucky Star (not sure if they're related), but it was still great.

Anytime I visit my mom in Carson I try to hit this spot because they have a huge menu and basically everything is delicious. Even the worst food from Lucky Star is still pretty edible lol… They have good breakfast, good Mexican, and excellent Burgers. Their double cheeseburger is done right and usually my go-to. Fast service and a comfy atmosphere if you want to dine in. Love the location right off the 91 fwy. I’ve never had a bad meal or bad experience here. Large portions and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend Lucky Star in Carson!

Bit of a wait but that's life in covid times. They did have someone outside taking orders to speed things up. It was my first time there I got the quesadill with barbacoa quite tasty full of meat I ate 2 and a half they give you 4 total of course.

The food is good. I specifically like the green chillaquiles, their carne asada burrito, and breakfast burrito. They are not greedy with their meats and everything is big food! The atmosphere is good. On one side they have the freeway and on the other side are a bunch of werehouses, so you'll see a bunch of werehouses employees coming in to eat for their lunch from time to time. One little hiccup is that they should spend a bit more time not just wiping down their tables, but their benches as well. Other than that, the food is good and the employees have a great attitude! Been going there since 2010.

This shot has a ton of options. I ordered my breakfast burrito via the phone. That wasn't any problem. Place looked very clean. Salsa bar was shocked up. The staff was friendly and attentive. My burrito was $10.50, and it was hot and tasty too. I would definitely come back and try some of the other dishes.

Kind of pricy.... they went up drastically on their prices once they did a few upgrades to their parking lot, new menu board and new restaurant sinage... and landscaping. The breakfast food is basic... not even equivalent to Denny's or IHOP just convenient to those who commute through or who work in the area. The breakfast food is the lowest grade & quality of sausage and bacon meat ( salty and low grade ) the cheese is low grade cheese that is on a rubber type texture. The pancakes are good and decent. The chicken enchilada dinner is good EXCEPT the shredded chicken that they use tends to be chicken that is extremely dried out and sort of creatures an unpleasant experience. I don't order the chicken enchilada meal... I order the Carne esada ( too salty but much more tolerable than dried out pieces of shredded or tiny pieces of dry chicken. And sometimes the enchilada sauce tends to be on the acidic side ( old or not properly stored or refrigeratorated ??) Otherwise I have had great experiences and food, but I stopped going after I realized how much the pricing went up... so If I am going to spend close to $15-18 for a subpar breakfast meal... or $18-23 for lunch and beverage then I might as well go to Sizzler who has a salad bar, soup, and fresh fruit offered and Sizzler also offers a senior citizen discount.. so if I tag my aunt along for lunch/dinner she can eat a meal with entree plus a trip to the salad bar plus a FREE beverage with FREE refills for only $11.00-$13.00 depending on what chicken or steak meal is chosen. As far as breakfast... I travel to Denny's opposed to Lucky Star Cafe in order to get better food with better quality of ingredients for a fraction lower in price. Dennys offers a under $10 menu with breakfast and lunch menu items. Lucky Star Cafe was ok until they sky rocketed the prices... they could have left the unnecessary upgrades in parking lot, landscaping and new menu board out of the equation.... money spent on upgrades to appeal to potential customers but drastically increasing prices on loyal customers is a bad business move especially during the climate change and the economy... tax loophole? Customers only want a clean establishment/restaurant, fresh & decent food plus frienndy & good customer service, and decent prices.... they will patronize a hole in the wall if food is good and prices are fair.... I hate that I had to step away and go elsewhere but nearly $20-$25 to eat+beverage just for breakfast or lunch.. Sorry I'm going to go where I am offered more + perks or more BANG for my buck money with better quality food/ingredients... or I can just cook or prepare my meals.

We went on vacation to California, we traveled all the way from Albuquerque, NM and we were told to try this place. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS THAT WE HAD TO GO AGAIN BEFORE HEADING BACK. I got the chilaquiles plate and it was sooo good. Portions are big, lots of taste and good price. My kids got the breakfast burrito, big size burritos packed with flavor. Staff were so nice, it was busy as we ate inside , I can see why it was always full. I can't wait to go back to eat here !!!

If you want something good, just order anything on the menu. The burgers, the burritos are huge. The fries are crispy and perfectly seasoned. The breakfast menu is a win-win also. Good place, they have a variety of food and everything I've had has been really good, I like the breakfast and the burgers from here.

My first visit was a great experience the second time I went thru the drive thru and when I got my chicken salad the chicken was a little dry not like the first time and I asked for ranch and extra thousand Island dressing and I only got ranch but the iced coffees are really good here

Had mix of Mexican food, Persian food and burgers, serving breakfast lunch and dinner. Clean. Ladies bathroom didn't work. My chicken kabob was delicious.

This is my #1 spot for a breakfast burrito. They don't skimp on any of the ingredients, you know there's bacon in their burrito. They cook the eggs at time of order, no pre-cooked dried eggs here. They don't smother it with cheap non-melting oily cheese. And its large enough to cut in half and share. I like the salsa on the side so I can dobb it on as I take a bite and indulge. Great price for a really really good burrito.

The food was delicious. The staff was quick to take my order and make my meal. Cashier was most pleasant. Will visit again soon.

I use to always pass this place up and one day I thought let me just try it. OMG I cant believe I slept on this place lol. They have the best Asada tacos ever. Everything teast so fresh.

This place does have nice Mexican plates but the only one that I was disappointed with is the Taquitos, no Quacamole! There is a sauce they put over them but just not the same! Hopefully they will consider the real thing to be added on their menu but for now I know what not to order!

Cleaner and better than the average diner but then again it's still just a diner so you know what taste to expect. I order here often and they've only ever messed up once which they corrected after addressing. I recommend it.

1st time eating here. Drive thru order. They accept card and cash. Ordered 3 soft tacos, sm chil fries, shrimp basket and nachos. $50ish. Food very good but he forgot to put my red sauce on side. Didnt get it at all. Will i be back, yes. Still more to try. I really liked my shrimp basket. I asked for a menu but prices are old which isnt an issue. I just want to know whats on menu. I also think you can call in your order.

There is an abundance of options on the menu. Everyone in your party should be able to find something to eat. Aside from the standard options, tacos, burgers, etc. There are 1/2 dozen healthier items to choose from as well. Portions are generous. Service was quick. Tables were not clean.

Food is ok ,but when u go if you don't speak Spanish they will f .your order up if you change something up.They won't understand you and you won't understand them,so always check your order before you leave or find a place that will put a person who speaks English to help take your order. No shade ,just truth. Same for most of these fast food places, McDonald's, Jack In The Box,Denny's Columbia Restaurant etc.Its all good it makes me cook at home more

The menudo is a highlight, tastes just like mom's and it's not as expensive as at other restaurants. All the other food is mediocre at best. They really need to work on replacing their rice, it’s taste pretty bad, same for the beans as well. The quality over the years has gone down and hope they can change things up and improve.

I've only tried them once. I was actually looking for a "Miguel's Jr. Restaurant." I saw this place around the corner from where I stay. I had a "wet chicken burrito." The size was enormous! The sauce was fresh. I actually asked for extra sour cream, but later found out they forgot to give it to me. Everything about the burrito was okay, except for the main ingredient, the chicken. I think it was because the chicken was grilled and chopped in square cubes. The chicken squares we're a bit hard and really didn't have any flavor. To compare this to the "chicken garbage burrito" at Miguel's Jr." Would be criminal on my part. Miguel's Jr.'s burrito has shredded chicken, and has tons of authentic flavor. It actually tastes like a well seasoned chicken. But like I mentioned earlier, the quality of the chicken was the only thing lacking. In fact, Lucky Star's burrito was a little bigger than Miguel's Jr.'s, but not nearly as satisfying in taste.

The service was good, and the quantity of food was also quite big, but it tasted allright. I had drink horchaata and it was not cold either. Not bad if you just looking to fill up your tummy.

I had their chorizo breakfast burrito and bacon. these items are served all day and are definitely delicious. i rank this a 3.5 because there is definitely a need for salsa on their burritos. Chorizo helps with salt and fat thr tang of acid is needed to balance it all out. i have a preference for green but their green salsa not too tasty to me. for reference my favorite green salsa from Tops(pasadena area). Ill also add the server very kind a patient in the drive through and i have not gone inside as of yet.

I was ordering in person at the main cashier where the cashier gave me intense attitude confusing my race by talking to me in english then switching up to Spanish. I figured that this was just a mistake, until i get my order which was a jr special. I was enjoying my order until i came across mold on my burger bun! this is truly disgusting especially since i was halfway done with my meal. food was good but the condition and customer service is preposterous!

I ordered two pastrami sandwiches & a fries (they only have one size.) I paid over $30, which is a little pricey for sandwiches; but it was good! A lot of drug addicts walking in & out of the resteraunt which isn't a good look when you're eating.

I was here to pick up an order and at least 5 workers saw me and said nothing. There was no line inside or anything. Food smells good but I was really disappointed at the fact that everyone saw me and said nothing. The person cleaning the tables came and went behind the counter to ask me how can I help you. Everyone who came after me was greeted within the first 30 seconds of them walking up to the counter. I would like to give props to ALMA though because this was the employee who greeted me. This many people behind the counter laughing and joking but ignoring the customer isn't cool. Do better next time guys.

My first and my last time that I come to this restaurant. Food was hmm from 1 to 10 like a 6, but the cashier is kinda rude and also the waitress when you ask her for something, she ignores you.

Food is great but the cashier seems to have a problem with people's appearances, she can't stop starring at you if she thinks somehow you're not normal. Almost like a 5 year old would stare at you when he or she is wondering something about you. Shame on her.

I went through the drive thru and ordered the Juevos Rancheros and the eggs were OVER cooked and instead of rice it came with mushy, tastless hash browns...it was gross!!!

Updated review: I usually ordered from here through uber eats. But tonight I said what the heck we shall dine in. Big mistake all of my party that ate here was throwing up right after eating here. The place is dirty. There is trash on tables plates that haven’t been picked up. The trash is overflowing big time with plates that are dirty. You can tell they don’t clean nothing. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. We had the shrimp boat dinner, enchilada, wet burrito and a hamburger special. The hamburger meat tasted bad like bad meat. The wet burrito tasted off. The enchilada plate was unacceptable. Everyone got sick immediately after eating here. Two of us where throwing up in the parking lot. And we have stomach issues. So for this I give this place zero stars. Never again will I come back. Previous review: all the orders were placed via Uber eats My order consisted of a wet asada burrito and a club sandwich. Of course the club sandwich comes with fries. Also note that at this restaurant comes with American cheese. Yes, that vibrant yellow cheese. Honestly that was the only thing that caught me off guard. Wish I had known so I could have opted out of the cheese. I personally prefer my club sandwich the original way no cheese please. Besides the cheese it was a good sandwich. So note that if you don’t want cheese ask for no cheese on your club, don’t make the mistake I made. Let’s talk about the wet Asada burrito it was good. Huge portion delicious. The meat cooked right. The salsa on top which is probably a canned enchilada sauce and the cheese were good for this dish. The burrito inside has beans ( probably Rosarita), rice with vegetables ( peas) and the asada. No complaint here’s. Would I buy food here again? Yes! Best believe I would because that burrito was delicious and their French fries are crispy.

This place has a menu big enough for three restaurants. There primary food is Mexican food and they also and fries etc.prices are mid food average . I got the chili cheese fries and the chili sucked watery no seasoning at all .my on had the wet carne sad burrito . It was a big burrito if you can cut through all of tortilla shell and. The carne asada was tough and they didn't have yellow chili peppers . I personally won't be going back there i kinda see why they were empty mid day .

Today on april 26th 2023 I ordered a carne asada burrito and it came with extra corn peas and carrots inside. Needless to say I'm pretty upset. I would tell anyone considering eating here to go anywhere else.

Poor service and the restaurant is always dirty. I was over charged because the order taker didn't completely understand English. Therefore, he charged me for an item that I didn't ask for. When I tried to get refunded the manager refused to pay my money back. Therefore, I've discontinued my 3 x weekly visits to the restaurant.

Ever time I come to this location they always mess up my order. I go to this location since its closer to my house. The food is good. But after today I will not be going back. What they prepare for your order does not look like was posted on the menu. I had to send my order back three times it was supposed to play with melted cheese on the taquitos instead they put cheese on the side like the taquitos would dry and the guacamole was in a small little cup. The cashier was smiling with other customers and when i approached, his demeanor changed when i ordered in English. Didn't seem friendly and had me waiting for my order even though I saw it was in front of me, READY. Not all Mexican people speak Spanish, I'm one of those people.

I watched this guy touch every piece of food with his bare hands 🤮 no gloves, no tongs, no anything. From scooping the salad, shredded cheese, and pickles out with his bare hands to cutting the boiled eggs in his bare hand. I was so disgusted I just drove off.

My visit to Lucky Star Café on a Saturday morning left much to be desired. Excited to try their renowned chicken and waffles, I placed an order through Uber Eats, also adding a chicken breast with eggs. However, what should have been a delightful experience turned into a nightmare of poor service and incompetence. Upon receiving my order, I was shocked to find that I had been given someone else's meal of tacos, burger, and fries. This mistake was not only a reflection of their lack of attention to detail but also a clear sign of their disregard for customer satisfaction. Despite confirming my order on the app, the staff failed to double-check before giving it to me, demonstrating a level of carelessness that is unacceptable in the service industry. The attitude of the staff further added to the unpleasant experience, with their demeanor bordering on rude and unhelpful. I had always wanted to try this place out, but after this experience, I left feeling deeply disappointed and with no intention of returning. The manager should take responsibility for the poorly run establishment and ensure that such incidents do not happen again.

If you order huevos a la Mexicana(eggs with grilled veggies)be prepared to get a big order of hashbrown and beans and a small side of eggs. What a rip off.
