A 5 star experience! Great atmosphere and vibe. Loved that the menu offered creative vegetarian/vegan options for many of their dishes. Presentation was great. Each component on the plate was well seasoned, treated correctly, and served a purpose. It was great to see that everything on the menu was made in house, even down to the ice creams and graham crackers. The Cellar is well worth a visit!

The small plates (especially the Kimchee Kimchee Fries) and Long Island duck were delicious. Add to it the service on a Monday night made stopping here after a 6 hour drive a wonderful treat. We’ll be encouraging family and friends driving by to stop in because everyone (no gluten, nut allergies, vegan, burgers only and poultry fans) can find something delicious!

We had dinner there last week on a Friday, and it was an outstanding meal and evening. My wife is Vegan and gluten free, whereas I eat anything. So it is often quite difficult to find a place that really impresses both of us. However, that was exactly what happened here. The food was excellent, and they allowed my wife to select items from the menu, which has a lot of veggie and vegan options on it, and they made an excellent meal for her that hit all her buttons. The service was responsive and exceedingly professional. Which brings me to the most important point of this review. Our experience with this establishment goes back to when it first opened. The food has always been good, but the servers have always been on the less than impressive side, shall I say. To us an excellent evening requires two things. 1. Excellent food and choices/flexibility of selections. 2. Outstanding servers who are engaging, professional and seem like an old friend who is there to make you smile. Our server was Courtney, and she was one of the best servers I have encountered in my 65 years. She was so attentive and responsive, nothing was a chore and she delivered the extra star on this review, and maybe even two extra stars of the five star rating I gave. She made the whole night so much fun, I cannot say enough about her. In one evening she has changed our view of this restaurant to one of a much higher rating than we ever had before - it just goes to show the power of excellent, 1st class people in your organization. Suffice to say when we return, which will be soon, we will most definitely be asking for Courtney to be our server...she was such a delight.

We stopped in for dessert after the Wineglass marathon on a Sunday. Cool atmosphere, slightly upscale but not stuffy. Ordered chocolate lava cake with caramel ice cream, French press coffee and a chai. Service was good even though they seemed pretty busy. Hot drinks were very hot. Lava cake was on the small side for two, but did not disappoint. Caramel ice cream stole the show - so yummy!

This place was great. Atmosphere was wonderful. Food was fresh and top quality and delicious. I love my Moscato so I ordered a glass, not having high expectations- most brands don't measure up to my expectations. However, the glass I had here was the best Moscato I've ever had! Former favorite I had found at a nice Italian restaurant I Chicago. But this one topped that. The staff was great. Place had a nice vibe to it. A bit on the pricey side, but most definitely worth the money. I'm not from the area, but if I was, I'd go here often. Not one complaint- and from me, that's not so common. 5 stars, easily! I'd give more than 5 if it were possible. (There should be a bonus star option on these reviews!)

Very, very good. This place is a favorite amongst the locals. Trust the locals. This is "the wine place," but the extensive wine selection isn't the best part. The food is bafflingly good. I have never heard someone say they had a bad meal. The food is creative but simple and well presented. Tonight's meal was a huge plate of incredible poutine, and donuts for dessert; the donuts had a strawberry rhubarb jelly. That may sound crazy, but it was one of the best meals I've had in a while. After you've had a good sampling of all their plates it won't sound as weird. Service has generally been good, even late at night, but make sure you have a reservation. Tonight I called ahead to make sure they still had poutine, and the waitress enthusiastically checked for me. Always pleased with this place.

It was nice to find a really high quality restaurant in this area. They’re head and shoulders above everything else we’ve tried nearby. The Waygu Steak Is really good and absolutely the highlight of our meal; the kimchi fries were also really good although they don’t go great together. There were a lot of other offerings that were appealing so I look forward to returning.

If you’re in town and looking to have an amazing experience at dinner, there’s only one choice. Everything on the menu is outstanding so I won’t mention recommendations! But last night was the buratta (if you like Indian- tremendous depth of flavor) and the prime rib tamales (could eat these everyday). Great team of people that will take care of you in an unpretentious atmosphere. Fun, laughter, and amazing food and drinks!!!!

Food and flavors are so on point, 10 out of 10 on everything we tried. Wait staff are extremely kind and accommodating. (Sad they wouldn't share the Smoked Tomato Cream Sauce recipe) it was absolutely delicious and if I didn't live 13 hours away I would work here for that recipe alone! Highly recommend 👌 chef's kiss 🤌 need I go on?

This place is the best. As a local I feel very at home here -- friendly, long-standing and knowledgeable staff, comfortable atmosphere, and an ever-changing menu so there's always something new to try! My go-to's are the ramen, brussels, chi chi fries. Oh man, I I just remembered I got engaged here, too! The staff had no idea but ran out with champagne as soon as they got word. Very special place in Corning.

Phenomenal place. They have an extensive list of bourbons and whiskeys, with a very knowledgeable and creative bartender. Great, friendly atmosphere and friendly staff. The cocktail atmosphere was great enough that it almost felt like alchemy-style cocktails, and the food was delicious. We got the lamb lollipops and poitine for an appetizer, and the flatbread and chicken & waffles for entrees. All of it was worth it, but the lamb lollipops were my favorite, to be sure. We will definitely be going back, and recommend it highly.

The Cellar is, by far, the best restaurant in the Elmira-Corning area. The quality of food and service is consistently exceptional. The Cellar is also one of the very few establishments in the area with a robust variety of vegan and gluten-free options on the menu for individuals with special diets or allergies.

We reserved a table for my son’s birthday and we were very happy with our evening. Our server, Courtney was excellent! The food was delicious and we were even wished a good evening by the bartender on our way out. We highly recommend!

The Cellar is among the finest places to dine in this part of New York State. The menu is always fresh and exciting and the staff is phenomenal. Chef Michael is at the top of his game and Taylor, behind the bar, is always ready to create a special drink for you.

I am really happy that I went here. I ordered Chicken and Waffles and I got something that really exceeded my expectations. The chicken breast was fried in a light crust that was crispy without being greasy. It was drizzled with a sweet honey like syrup and created the perfect combination of salty and sweet. The Waffle was fantastic and it was served with a brussel sprout hash that somehow went with the chicken and waffles perfectly. I highly recommended this place.

My husband and I tried this place for the first time Saturday night. The staff was super friendly from the hostess, to our waiter Emmett, to the busser. We expected to spend a pretty penny but were surprised to find it was actually quite casual and very reasonable! The menu was awesome! I ordered coffee and got s tiny cute french press with local coffee and freshly made cream. I am a super coffee lover and it literally was the best cup of coffee I have ever experienced. :) We had the swordfish special that was unbelievable and a falafel salad also excellent. Everything was so fresh and full of flavor. Kudos to the Chef! Couldn't wait to tell everyone how great this place is! we will definitely be back!!!!

Welcoming environment. Lisa was our waitress and was so kind. She knew what to recommend and checked in on us a few times. The wagyu was amazing and the halibut was delicious. Had a little sample of caramel ice cream shared at the end. Great place.

Best meal we’ve had in ages! The service was top notch. The food is creative, delicious, and caters to all dietary needs. It is a family owned and operated restaurant, and you can tell they put their heart into it. We come to Corning once a year, and this is a must stop!

We got there after a long day hiking in Niagra Falls with our hopes high and OMG did The Cellar deliver! We had the Seasonal Salad with a Focaccia the Harisa Cauliflower and the Burger (we add fries as well) for the meal and the Chocolate Lava Cake for desert. Everything was exceptional and was so well made with every pinch of salt being thought of. The salad was amazingly seasoned, the cauliflower was amazing with Tahini sauce and yhe Harisa was just something you dont normally encounter around upstate NY. The burger was beautifully done and super tasty, it was well felt that the Cellar are using fresh local products. The fries were insane, as crispy as cna be on the outside and as soft almost creamy on the inside, just great. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great and the Croning plates decorating the wall were beautiful and kindda got us in the Croning vibe. We had a waitress named Lucy who apparently works both the floor and the kitchen so we got an explanation for each dish on top of the amazing recommendations we got while we had auch hard time picking the food off the menu. If you ask us, No visit in Croning is whole without a grand finale in The Cellar

Excellent! We did the New York Meat Board and appetizers. Poutine, Lamb Lollypop and Fried Cauliflower.

Beer = wow. So I started with a Cabernet Franc from upstate NY. Was very tasty. Curry Hummus and fish tacos did not disappoint. But check out the beer that I found here! Heady FTW! Also Lunch IPA on tap, are you kidding me?!? Would not have thought this kind of place would have such great beer.

We had a wonderful experience dining at the bar. Everything from the drinks to the food is presented with craft and care. The menu is extremely welcoming to any and all dietary preferences/restrictions which is awesome. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was fantastic. Everything was spot on and made for a really great evening. Best dinner and drinks spot in Corning, hands down!

I was in town for the weekend and was looking for a spot to eat and landed up at the cellar. I absolutely loved my chicken and waffles and had a delicious sour beer. The service was great which is always a bonus.

My first visit was incredibly memorable. We celebrated a friend’s new business with drinks suggested by the bartender. At the table, our warm & witty server, Emmett, answered all of our menu questions and gave suggestions as requested. The food was delicious and both new and somehow familiar - fresh, perfectly cooked, and beautifully plated. The restaurant’s interior was inviting, bearing bright artwork and a subtly lit cozy ambiance. We were treated to dessert - a scoop of luscious homemade ice cream that we all enjoyed and one of the owners came over to congratulate our friend’s success! The entire experience was honestly stellar. I continue to sing The Cellar’s praises to locals and visitors alike.

Just wanted to say thank you again for being such a wonderful business who has been nothing but phenomenal with your interactions with me, my wife and our family over these past years. I truly appreciate the help your team provided to me last night to make a random Tuesday wonderful for my wife!! I’ve done a lot of things over the years to surprise her and she found last night to be her most special moment - so truly - thank you and your team for making that happen!!

This is one of BEST restaurants in this area! The food is amazing and the staff is top-notch. Michael and Ellen have created a gorgeous restaurant that serves the most incredible food. One other thing to note - as the spouse of someone with Celiac’s, I really appreciate the variety of gluten-free options. They are very mindful of cross-contamination and we are grateful for that. We know that when we go to The Cellar, we both will get a great meal without worry that my partner will get sick afterwards. That peace of mind is invaluable.

Amazing! We all loved and thoroughly enjoyed eating what we got, though the poutine was an overall favorite. The chicken and waffles were also delicious, and the scallops were cooked to perfection! Our server was excellent and super friendly. And the half/full sizes are a godsend! We were able to enjoy three courses without feeling overly stuffed. The only drawback of the restaurant is that it’s definitely on the loud side, but the food is so good that you end up not caring!

S

Beyond excellent! Beautiful and comfortable setting with exceptional service. I have a gluten allergy and do not eat red meat. I had so many wonderful and amazing options. We had the fries with our cocktails - which I could have. I had the waffle and chicken dish. AMAZING!. So many flavors and textures - and GF! Everyone enjoyed their meals very much. There is a lovely wine list with great variety. Dessert, also GF, was delicious. We travel extensively and this was by far one of the best dining experiences we have had to date. Thank you and we will return!

Elegant and excellent. Lots of small plate choices. Believe it or not, best chicken and waffles I've ever had. Pic doesn't do it justice. Poutine fries and the teriyaki chicken skewers my other 2 favorites.

This place was awesome! We got two apps to share and two half portions of the entrees to share as well. The lamb lollipops were amazing!!! Everyone should try one. They were tender and the sauce was great! Order the chicken and waffles!! I'll say that again..... ORDER THE CHICKEN AND WAFFLES!! Fantastic!!!! No further words can be said. We also got the Chilean sea bass, it was delicious. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We loved it, thought it was amazing, and would recommend it to anyone.

Had a wonderful dinner with a group of six. The service was seamless, with no hiccups at all. The ramen dish was incredibly flavorful—my first time trying one with snow crab, and it was outstanding. The poutine was the best I’ve ever had, even surpassing what I’ve enjoyed in Montreal and Quebec. I will definitely be back!

This is definitely 100% place for a recommendation. It’s very well decorated very modern yet some classic. I would say you could go either in groups, with significant others, for business meeting little undertone business meeting type... It it’s a little bit loud for my personal taste when it comes to a romantic meetings. The food selection is very interesting because you got a fusion of Indian, American, Southern American, Asian, Mediterranean, and TexMex food so it’s very interesting how they were able to combine all this different kinds of foods

There again 9/28/24. The experience was quite similar. I especially appreciated the way the flavors in the house Salad popped and were individually identifiable and a delicious sensory experience. It's not often (if ever) I feel compelled to review a salad. AMAZING! The remaining dishes were fresh and flavorful as well as a rich culinary experience. I dare say that sampling many of the restaurants in Corning the Cellar is definately my personal favorite and in my opinion the top restaurant in Corning at this time. EXCELLENT WORK!!! PREVIOUS REVIEW: The food was outstanding. Fresh, delicious, strong umami. Many house made innovations exited the palette. Highest quality culinary experience.

Best (and maybe only) gluten free fried chicken we’ve ever had. Amazing other dishes (many gluten, vegan, and allergy sensitive) in a seasonal, creative menu, and completely made of fresh and local ingredients. Our waitress, Lisa, was attentive, knowledgeable, and caring! If & when we come back, it will be heavily influenced by her… and that chicken.

The food was delicious! But the pricing is a bit high for some items (Serioisly, $8 for a few slices of bread and butter? That's absurd.) Would definitely recommend the lamb lollipops!!

A good resturant in market street of Corning. Food is tasty, recommend Chicken and Waffle (the chicken is fried). Steak is also a good choice if you couldn’t make the decision from the variety of food choices.

C

Absolutely amazing. I’ll admit, I was a little bit worried initially, since some of the photos from previous reviews of the food made it look like it was going to be very small amounts of food at a high price point. However, I found that the quality of food completely made up for any doubts I had, and since I shared 4 dishes family style with three others, I was very full at the end. The chicken and waffles were so well seasoned and made, while the lamb lollipops had a really unique sauce. The Thai peanut noodles were also so fresh and delicious and the steak and fries were made to perfection. 100% recommend and would come again.

We had a great time here on a very busy Saturday night during the Corning Sparkle Festival. We made OpenTable reservations and were seated immediately upon arrival. They have a fantastic wine and beer selection and a cool handheld device to browse the selections. As for the food... it was wonderful. Two in our party had the chicken and waffles, one had the flatbread pizza, and I had the pork medallion special. Everything was cooked perfectly. Chicken and Pork was tender and juicy with great flavor. The flatbread also had a great combination of ingredients which made for a wonderful meal.

Great service, great wine list, great food. We had the tempura salmon sushi roll, half orders of the halibut and duck tostado, then took a cannoli to go. Probably too much food for us but we couldn’t resist!

C

We were a party of 7, a walk in due to a few in our party not liking the original place we were going to. The hostest was gracious enough to let us have a table with out reservations. The food was great. I got the Duck Milk buns and the duck was incredible. Thanks to all the staff that helped us feel welcome. Great time. We will be back the next time we come to Corning for the glass museum.

Our Friday evening at The Cellar was culinary perfection. Delicious drinks, tasty appetizers, unique entrees and decadent desserts. Our server was attentive throughout the night and timed the arrival of our courses perfectly. Great atmosphere and a nice place to go if you want to avoid the “noise” of other Market Street establishments. So nice to be able to converse without having to yell to be heard. Very highly recommended.

If you're looking for a truly exceptional dining experience, look no further! This restaurant offers an extraordinary range of bourbons, whiskeys, and wines, expertly curated by a knowledgeable and creative bartender and server. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere makes you feel right at home from the moment you step in. The cocktail offerings are nothing short of magical, evoking an alchemy-like charm that adds to the overall allure of the place. As for the food, it was simply delightful! The lamb lollipops and sautéed vegetable and cheese board were outstanding, with the lamb lollipops leaving an unforgettable impression on my taste buds. The attentive and friendly staff deserve special mention for enhancing the overall dining experience. Their recommendations and warm demeanor contributed to making the evening even more enjoyable. Without a doubt, l'll be returning to this phenomenal establishment. I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a place that combines exceptional drinks, mouthwatering dishes, and a welcoming atmosphere. The Cellar was a truly exceptional experience. I took my wife there for a special evening and I can't imagine it going any better. The staff was attentive but aware of when to come and go. Food was timed perfectly as we ordered several small plates and drinks. While we skipped the wine, the martinis we're superb. Even better, our allergy needs were accommodated very well. The mix of the vegan cheese board to get dairy free cheese and local meat board made for a great combination.

The Cellar is our to go place for fine dining in our area. We have been dining there right from when they opened their doors. Menus are innovative, well executed , fusion element comes alive. The staff is the best and we feel like we’re among friends when we eat there. Ppl that give bad reviews to this place are doing so in bad taste quite frankly. This is one place in Corning that has the best options for vegans and those who want gluten free dining that goes beyond the usual Meat & Potatoes fare..

The Cellar Is one of my favorite restaurants in Corning, New York. We go there probably about 4 to 5 times a year and every time is an amazing experience. My husband and I went there last night for New Year’s Eve dinner and it was absolutely amazing. Lisa W was our waitress and she is so delightful and so kind. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone for any occasion. They have a variety of food and they really pay attention to dietary restrictions. I have celiac and they have a great variety of dishes that are gluten-free.

This is a great spot for craft cocktails! We came here before dinner elsewhere, and the service was quick and kind. I had the Fig in a Blanket, which was unique and delicious, along with an espresso martini and a raspberry martini. Everything was fabulous! While we didn’t eat here, the food smelled divine. It does get busy, but we arrived near opening and had no trouble getting a seat at the bar. Looking forward to returning next time we’re in town!

This was a very expensive meal. That being said, it was worth every penny. The food and drinks were spectacular! My group showed up and was welcomed by friendly staff, we had questions about wine and the owner came out and talked to us for 10 minutes, we ordered apps, food, wine, dessert, and everything else we could imagine. Next time im in NY I am definitely going back

I had found this restaurant while looking for a good place to eat in Corning. Love the small plate options so you can try several different things. Gwen was wonderful, and they have a great bourbon selection! She started me off with Some More, an old fashioned served with a toasted marshmallow and a graham cracker/chocolate combination on part of the rim. Delicious! From there I went to the Lamb Lollipops and the Marcona Almonds & Coriander. The lamb was succulent and tasty, and the combination of the coriander toasted with the almonds was a nice surprise. I wouldn't have thought about doing that, but they worked well together. Trying to stay healthy, I went with the House Salad with the Cayuga Bleu Cheese, and it was perfect. A great salad, it's nice to be able to eat healthy and still have something that tastes this good! Then for dessert I did a small spoonful of the Salted Caramel gelato, just the right size for a bite of something sweet without going overboard, and so smooth and delightful. I'll definitely be going back if I'm in town again!

I’ve been living in Corning for 30 yrs and this is easily one of my favorite restaurants. I’m vegan but my husband is not, and we both can get a delicious fresh meal! We both love the vegan cheese board. Wow! And the drinks! Expansive! The owners are great people who know how to run a restaurant. My friend even had her wedding here! Don’t miss this treat if you are coming to visit The Crystal City.

My husband and I had a fantastic dinner at The Cellar for our anniversary. We started with cocktails, I had the Moon Dance (sloe gin fizz) and my husband had the Cowboy Bebop (amaro negroni), both were delicious! For food, we decided to do all small plates and share them. We started with the beets with pistachio butter, clementine jam, marcona almonds, and baguette - so good! We also had the brussels and walnuts with brown butter and balsamic reduction and the duck tacos with pomegranate salsa, both were incredible. We then had the poutine and shrimp with lemon garlic butter sauce. The fries in the poutine were absolutely perfectly fried and crispy and the au poivre gravy was great, if not just a hint on the sweeter side so we opted to dip the fries in it instead of pouring it over them. It was the best of both worlds - the slight sweetness of the gravy with the crispy, salty fries - absolute heaven. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and that sauce... We mopped it up with the pillowy focaccia and were in heaven. For dessert, our server, Lisa, recommended the dark chocolate lava cake and it was the perfect way to end our meal. The cake had delightfully crispy edges and the molten center was gooey and sweet. The saltiness of the ice cream offset the sweetness of the cake perfectly. Lisa's service was friendly and attentive, especially given the fact that the restaurant was absolutely packed while we were there. We would happily return to The Cellar in the future and would recommend it to others!

This restaurant would easily succeed in NYC. This is one of the best foods we have ever had. Brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection and they were not burned or looked like a charcoal. Duck tacos were simply delicious. House salad with added Feta cheese was exceptional. We ordered Sea scallops, Harissa Cauliflower and Ricotta Gnocchi, and each dish was cooked to perfection. Gnocchi were cooked in some kind of broth and I have never seen for it to be cooked that way, but my daughter said that this is the best Gnochhi she ever had. We found service staff at the restaurant to very nice and helpful. Hope to be back if we would be in the area again.

Love this place! Ate here 4 years ago when I was visiting Corning. When planning a trip to Letchworth State Park I decided to spend a night in Corning just so we could eat at The Cellar, and I was not disappointed. My favorite dishes were the Poutine, Lambchop Lollipops, and the Chicken and Waffles.

Walked in without a reservation, and got lucky to get a table. First time here (not Corning residents!) but would definitely go again. Had the Hummus appetizer to start (they make it themselves) - so rich and creamy, topped with diced cucumbers and green cherry tomato halves. For an entree I had the Chicken & Waffles. Sweet, spicy, and perfectly spiced and wonderfully paired witha a sweet-potatoe/ kale salad. The whole plate left a great taste in my mouth afterwards!! Hoping we can go back one of these days!!

We recently dined at this restaurant and were blown away by the exceptional service, top-notch ingredients, and plentiful plates that exceeded our expectations. Although the prices were on the higher side, the quality and attention to detail made every penny worth it. Our waitress was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, making us feel like we were part of a special experience. The care that went into every aspect of our meal was evident, and we left feeling delighted and impressed. If you're looking for a truly memorable dining experience and are willing to splurge, the cellar is definitely worth a visit.

Refined feel, thoughtfully composed dishes. Lamb lollipop chop was topped by a dollop of goat cheese and mint leaf and crisped morsel. Could've been a bit rarer though to preserve original flavor. Crispy shrimp milk bun (柳叶包) with frisée made a dynamically textured bite. The creamy mayo yolky sauce but with a kick of acidic note was exquisite. House salad with roasted pepita, candied walnut, microgreens incl basil, endive, frisée, and sweet ginger chili dressing was refreshing.

We were really pleasantly surprised at just how nice our experience at The Cellar was. As someone with a gluten sensitivity I was thrilled to see that their chicken and waffles is gluten free. The prices are commensurate with the quality here, and I was glad to see that our entrees were full plates, not a piece of protein garnished with a few specks of vegetable and starch. This was a great way to start our weekend in Corning

Another fabulous meal at The Cellar! Went in on a Saturday night—accidentally had made reservations for the following Saturday, but they were able to seat four of us. Delicious food and drinks and great service. I had 3 of their small plates: the spinach dip with house made focaccia—could have used a tad more spinach, but cheesy and delicious & the focaccia was amazing, the house salad—a mix of greens with apples, candied walnuts, pumpkin seed, in a house made dressing, and a cup of their lemon chicken soup—delicious!! The soup tasted homemade, but in the best way possible! So much flavor!! My hubby had their poutine as an appetizer and the chicken cacciatore—he enjoy everything. Our friends had the salad with shrimp added, duck mac n cheese, and a couple of other dishes and really were impressed! They’re new to this area from Dallas and are used to excellent restaurants with great vibes and food and said they would definitely be back! Mike, the owner, stopped by our table to see how things were and was as friendly and welcoming as ever! It’s so nice to go to a place where the owner is happy to see the guests having a great time. Also…delicious desserts, coffee and cocktails!!

We were in the mood for an upscale burger and fries and this was perfect! The gouda and apple butter were a great touch. Their spicy ketchup and garlic aioli were delicious, too! We’ve been to the Cellar many times and can also recommend the salmon and chicken and waffles, too. Also, our waitress was attentive and friendly! We will be back!

Fine dining at its best in a small town in NY. The ambience was great. The waiter very knowledgeable. Wonderful food, fresh and rightly cooked to perfection. The dessert menu they have is outstanding. Our group got different desserts and all said it was wonderful. Definitely recommend for someone trying good food in the area. The pasta I ordered could have been a little better though.

Ate here at the suggestion of family who lives close to Corning. Went during the parade of lights which was absolutely beautiful to begin with and of course we knew it would be hard to get a table during a very busy day for the town. Thankfully our wait was minimal but we got the opportunity to sit at the bar and enjoy each a festive cocktail each which were fantastic. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely and very comforting. Service was amazing and the food as well. Of course they brought out a happy birthday dessert out for my wife which made her night. I’ll make sure to let others know to go there!

What a wonderful experience! My husband and I came here for date night. I was excited for the menu. Our waitress Courtney was phenomenal. She had great recommendations and was very friendly. We like that she gave us time and told us when she'd come back. She was on it. The lamb lollipops were delicious. I wasn't expecting them to be medium rare, which is usually not my thing. But they were very good. The blend of toppings really complimented the lamb itself. The market steak is so worth it! The prime tenderloin melted in my mouth. Cooked to perfection. I loved the juicy sauteed vegetables that complimented the meal well. My husband really enjoyed his seafood hollandaise. He was literally licking the plate clean. We ended with the dark chocolate molten cake. It was super yummy. I think that it was a little crispy for my liking around the edges and small for a $14 dessert, but overall it was good. It was a great date night. We will definitely be back again.

Service was great! Emmit was an excellent server and really made us feel welcome. Food on the whole was delicious. I wasn't a huge fan of the smoked fish chowder but my lamb gnocchi was glorious and melted in my mouth. Then the honey, rosemary icecream was so layered and decadent. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice night out.

Great atmosphere, good service, food tasted great. Very pricey. $30 for a cup of pasta is a bit high. Came with nothing else. Tasted great, just not sure it was worth price. Definitely worth a visit if you don't mind that.

They have a great cocktail selection. And they can make many different drinks very well. I had the potstickers (vegetarian!), and they were alright. My friend had the tanduri chicken skewers and said they were some of the juiciest chicken hes had in his entire life. So kudos there! My only issue was the price. Two people, each with two drinks and an appetizer came out to $74.

Lamb lollipops were tasty but small. Cauliflower dish was great. The only problem was my wine pour. I got the Pino from France. It was served in a skinny white wine glass and it looked like a wine tasting pour. Regardless of their reply below, the 5 oz pour at this restaurant is smaller than others. It’s more like 4 oz.

Really nice ambient and good food. I had Pork Ramen and Lamb Lollipops and they were both delicious.

My dinner was outstanding. I ordered the Tajeen. The wine I ordered was stale, however. For a wine bar, they really need to user a wine preserver when selling wine by the glass.

Certainly a well run and great place to go to dinner. I got lured in by the $5 taco Tuesday only to find they were slightly larger than my 3 fingers. I know small plates are a thing but really it should be $3.50 taco night.

Good food but their drinks are fantastic. If you are looking for fun strong drinks this is a place to go... Just plan to walk home or take an uber

The meal was fantastic, the wagyu was definitely not what you'd expect for 60 dollars it was a bit dry and chewy but overall the cheese and meat platters tasted great, and the miso soup my wife said was to die for. the wine was incredible and please do try the wagyu tallow fries they are so delicious ... For the four of us to eat and try a lil bit of everything it cost about 500 dollars ...so please be cautious the bill adds up quickly

I've heard a lot about the cheese board that was offered at The Cellar over the last year from various associates. Had a conference at the Radisson and figured I would pick it up to go, thinking it would be a nice gesture to have while we discussed things in the lobby before the meeting took place. The bartender was very nice, explaining everything to me, and I was under the impression that it would be quite bountiful and neatly packaged for a To-Go option. This was the only thing I had requested. Altogether, $75, which was already a bit pricey... but I ordered additional meats and bread. After 30 minutes of waiting, she politely brought out 2 large To-Go containers, and I was on my way with my charcuterie / cheese board items. To my surprise, what was stated on the menu of items to be received did not meet my expectations. There were no crackers, my expectations of additional meats (I had ordered two additional meats) were not what I expected in terms of servings, and for the most part, it did not match the items that I had seen in previous photos on Google reviews. So I was very confused and shocked beyond belief... along with my colleagues who had also had the same menu item in their own experiences, questioning if I was ripped off or the kitchen staff didn't read the order correctly. I called the establishment, and I was told that management would reach back out to me - I have heard nothing over the last several days. Not sure what to expect for any future take-out orders from here on out, and if it should be avoided altogether. Especially for the long duration of what I thought would be a simple item. The restaurant was maybe half full, with only 4 individuals at the bar besides me on a slow Wednesday. // Update 1/23/26 The restaurant was kind to work out and recognize the mistake, along with extending an invitation to right the wrong. I really appreciated this gesture and have amended the review on service to show the appreciation. (2 -> 4). I look forward to dining in person

Great place on Market Street! Lots of gluten-free options! They are very knowledgeable about cross-contact. The food is creative and delicious.

The Cellar in Corning, NY, offers a wonderfully eclectic menu. The food was delicious—especially the chicken and waffles, which were a standout. We were seated in the bar area, so it was a bit loud, but it didn’t detract from the overall experience. There are plenty of vegetarian options, which was great for one member of our party. Definitely worth a visit!

Great place if you want a gourmet meal. I don't care for gourmet so there was limited options. Ordered steak medium came out medium well blackened with French fries. Really would of liked a Baked potato and Asparagus with my steak but they don't offer it. Also wanted a ordinary Coke What they offered was some bottled off brand. The atmosphere was very loud not with music but people talking loudly. Very expensive. I probably won't be back. My guest loved their meals, but they like gourmet food.

Sad to say but the cellar is on the ground floor. However they do have over 40 wines by the glass and a large bottle list. They play the table stakes with local ingredients and finger lakes wines. There is a bit of discord between the décor and menu. The burgers were under seasoned and bacon half crispy. The kimchee fried were good and so was the classic Manhattan cocktail. For the dessert the iced wine far out shined the apple crumble that was lacking sweetness. Overall it was a nice date night but I hope to have a better experience with a summer menu.

I visited the Cellar with my wife after a day at the Glass Museum. We ordered quite a few of the appetizers, including the lamb lollipops, the market salad, the poutine, foccacia, and one other. The food was delicious and both the cocktails and beers on tap was great. So why am I giving this place only 2 stars? Within a little over an hour of getting home, I had terrible and explosive diarrhea that took over 24 hours to flush out of my system. It took a bit longer for it to kick in for my wife (I guess she has a slower metabolism). Several factors let us know for sure that Cellars was the source of our trouble. We ate at home in the morning and did not eat anting else before we got there. Further, we both used the hand sanitizer provided at the restaurant. The food was very tasty but buyer beware, there will be a price to pay later!

Food is way over priced and is average. Payed $9 for a side of fries. Got 33 cold, undercooked fries. That's 28¢ per fry. Wife had scallops, $37, 2 scallops. That, again, was average.

We picked this place for our visit to Finger Lakes because of its good reviews and tapas menu. We loved to try small dishes. On a Thursday night, the place was packed. We were seated promptly at the reservation time. Their wine/beer menu was on a iPad-like device. I found it hard to navigate. I ordered a glass of local dry Riesling and my husband had IPA beer. We ordered several small plates to share. Disappointingly, the only dish we liked was the Sichuan Calamari. It was crispy and flavorful. The others (Beef slider, Jerk chicken skewer, Lamb lollipop, and Margherita flatbread) were all quite bland. We were glad we only ordered the half portion of Pork Ramen as the noodle was overcooked and soup too salty. I really liked the varieties of food they offered, but the taste was not there.

Our server was excellent, and very helpful and the happy anniversary plate at the end was a nice touch. The food was unfortunately lackluster. The catfish was pretty bland/overcooked and the butter chicken tasted like tomato sauce that had little to no seasoning in it. The poutine was almost offensively bad as it was just a piece of half melted cheese on some fries that seemed like they might have come from a frozen bag. The restaurant has pretty noisey/reflective walls that echoed loudly. Overall, I cannot reccomend and felt my meal was not worth 100+ dollars.

The wait was said to be 15-30 mins. We sat at the bar for an hour and a half and didn't get seated. We sought dining elsewhere and we're very satisfied with the place across the street after leaving.

Dishes lacked flavor, the atmosphere was loud and dated, extremely overpriced for what you get. This restaurant wants to be a high end place you’d find in a metro area but lands at trying too hard without succeeding.

Not a great place to have as the finest dining in town. Nothing justified the prices. The jerk chicken skewers tasted nothing like jerk, and resembled more like a Mediterranean marinated chicken with citrus sauce. No spice, no rich Jamaican flavors. Tender though. The wagyu beef tips were well done. Even cut one open and showed the waiter, who said “those are just marinated, we don’t overcook them”. They were solid brown on the inside and chewed like juicy wood chips. $50 plate. Shame of it was, the corn pudding and potato hash with it were lights out. If you must go here for a Corning occasion, it’s not abysmal. But $87 later, I wouldn’t give them any more of my money. I can eat at Outback for half that if I’m craving overcooked steak and mediocre service. EDIT: Going from two stars down to one because the owner’s response was pretty annoying ngl
