The Site Cyber Bar & Grill Corning Reviews
Excellent service and a great place for comfort food...especially their famous Mac n' Cheese dishes...will be sure to go again!!!!!!!
Came in town from NC looking for a quick bite to eat. Decided on Mooney's. Cool spot. Even better food. I got the Boom sandwich and WOW was it packed with flavor. 9 out of 9 on the Shock meter!! Everything else on my trip couldn't compete. Glad we stopped in.
My Dad and I visited Mooney’s earlier tonight and it was awesome!! We sat upstairs at the bar and had some yummy October fest beers, their famous spicy soup, and split a HUGE sandwich! Everything was spicy but delicious. The bartender Chad was great also and gave us a great recommendation on the sandwich. Definitely recommend this place!
This place is great! Had the pulled pork sandwich and original Mac and cheese. I have to say it's the best Mac and cheese I've ever had!
The mac and cheese portions are huge! The wait staff is so friendly. I love going here. I drive 2 hours from my house just to get this mac and cheese.
We stopped here on a whim and the food is not too badly priced and the location is very well themed and welcoming. The food is very good.
First visit. Large portions of tasty food. Fast, friendly service. Great soup, salad, broccoli Mac and cheese. Close to Corning Glass Museum in downtown historic main street. Open later than other restaurants. Found parking street side nearby. Try their specialty drinks like grapefruit vodka and tonic!
They really don't lie, this is the biggest bowl of Mac n cheese I've ever been served. To top it off the Mac n cheese is actually pretty good , it's not just about the quantity. I got the buffalo chicken Mac n cheese. I was initially worried it would be just doused in buffalo sauce, but it actually contained an even distribution of chicken and blue cheese. They also are ready to bring you to go boxes. If you eat at moony's you will definitely have Mac n cheese left over for your next meal.
Nice selection of craft beer. The food is excellent. I looked on Google while in town for the evening for a place to eat. When I got to the street where they were, I saw several places to eat. I asked a local gentleman what his recommendation was and he said Mooney's. That's a done deal, Mooney's it was. I sampled a few beers, settled on Mooneys ipa. Ordered the turkey club. Wow, that's alot of sandwich. Can't say I ever had one that tasted better and the prices are very reasonable. Daniel at the bar was very personal and helpful. Will definitely return.
I absolutely love mac and cheese, so to find a place that has 17 different kinds amazes me. My table tried 2 kinds along with the hawg wings and they were both so good. My order was a half portion and it was such a large dish that it lasted 4 meals! I like how the bar is separate from the restaurant, so you can still sit down with your family, away from all the rowdiness.
Did we wait to be seated? Sure. Was the slogan of "It's worth the wait" accurate, absolutely! This place was cozy, the staff was friendly, and the mac and cheese was out of this world! Brace yourself for large portions. In the attached picture the smaller size is the "side" portion (the baked potato mac and cheese, which was October's mac of the month, and the large plate was the rodeo mac and cheese).
Oh so good, pure yummy. We had the Mac and cheese of the month, surf and turf (steak and lobster) huge, huge portion. The serving had lobster and steak on top to garnish as well throughout, toasted to a crunchy golden brown. Plenty to take home. Loved the French onion soup, delightful, lots of flavor and melty cheese, at least 18" of it stretching up, and the broth was perfect-wish there was more of it. Our server, Shelley C was great, attentive at all the right times.
This place is always busy, which is a good thing because they've got great food here. When they say " home of the mac and cheese" they mean it, every flavor combination you can think of. There's seating downstairs as well as upstairs. This night we sat upstairs. Someone who has trouble with stairs as I do would have a little trouble with it, but I managed. I ordered a hamburger with fries. This burger was so juicy and delicious! My oldest daughter got the BLT mac and cheese, but with no t....it tastes exactly like a bacon pizza but in noodle form, so good! My youngest got bacon, ham and sausage mac and cheese. That was also great! They each got a side order and they both ended up bringing home a majority of it...but, that was ok..it got eaten. Their portions are huge!! If you plan on eating here you better bring your appetite because the food is just that good. I'd definitely recommend eating here!!
Go here to enjoy an amazing plate of Mac and cheese served with love and smiles. I observed the kitchen staff and the team waiting the tables, each one of them brought their A-game to work. I had the banana pepper Mac and cheese and I am definitely coming back for more. My server helped me pick the dish from the available vegetarian options - thank you. The place sets really high standards for service and food - 5 star.
I've been told over and over you guys gotta go to Mooney's. Well we finally went. And it lived up to ask the hype. The Mac n Cheese is really good. Nice and creamy and and smooth. The portions are huge. I got the 3 pig Mac n Cheese (bacon, ham, and sausage). And my wife got the lobster Mac n Cheese, had a few bites of hers and it was really good. Even my picky son approved!!!! As a bonus today was 50% off wings so we got 2 orders of wings we got the garlic parmesan and Mooney's gold (a honey mustard sauce). They were really good too. Wait staff was very friendly and nice as well. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a sports bar and they're family friendly as well. Highly recommended!!!!
The als wings sauce was great. We also got the lobster Mac and cheese and it was delicious. They had a ton of tvs with multiple games on. The tap list was decent and the service was great. Prices were very reasonable also.
This was an awesome place! We ate at the bar on the second floor. You can tell there were regulars in there but the staff was so welcoming! Sam was our bartender and was extremely helpful when ordering. The hot wings were so crispy and had great flavor! Homemade blue cheese was so good! Will definitely be back!
I had an incredible Mac 'n Cheese experience. They were full of flavors and very satisfying. I tried three options: Three Little Pigs, Chicken Bacon Ranch, and Cheeseburger, and they were all delicious. The Panko added a nice texture to the Mac. The bar also offers local options for beer and wine, which I think is a must for all local bars. I've only ordered small-size take-outs, which were plenty for me. One suggestion is to replace the aluminum paper with wax paper, as the aluminum tends to break and adds a metallic flavor to the food.
My family came here because of the Google reviews and they did not disappoint. This place was awesome. Our server was great. The food was amazing. The reviews convinced me to get Mac and cheese, but to order the smaller portion. I was surprised to see the huge portion (pictured, Rodeo Mac &cheese small portion) despite ordering the smaller option. I still ate only half. Therefore I'm convinced a family of 3-4 could just buy 1 regular size Mac and cheese and go family style. 🤷♀️ Anyway, my burger loving husband and son also loved their burgers. We were fortunate not to have to wait to be seated, nor did we wait too long to get our food, but I'm guessing because not too many sports on the particular day we visited.
Cute restaurant with fun decor. Very cozy and quaint. The burgers are huge (the Irish one was delicious) and the Mac and cheese was incredible. The perfect ratio of cheese to noodle. Would HIGHLY recommend the Mac and cheese. The full serving is huge and would easily be enough for 2 people or leftovers for the next day.
Stopped in here while in town to visit and the food was delicious. We had the raspberry coconut shrimp to start and then a couple sides of Mac and cheese. It was all delicious. The lobster Mac was a little bit bland but if you add a little hot sauce it'll go a long way. Food was amazing overall.
We ordered Door Dash from here twice over a weekend because the food was SO good. First night got a whole order of 3 pigs Mac and cheese. Enough to feed probably 10 people. Portions are huge. Second night got the lobster Mac. Got the smaller portion with extra meat and it was PERFECTION! Burgers were amazing as well! I can understand why Food Network gave this place and their Mac and Cheese a shout out.
Perfect for a very casual, cozy family dinner - the dishes are definitely shareable size(though you don’t want to because the food is very tasty) and the servers are friendly and accommodating. The bartenders are a little salty( you have to have personality with that job! lol) but efficient. You order a drink and it’s there, pronto. Leftovers heated up just fine so don’t be afraid to order a side and a main dish !
You got to come through here and get one of their amazing macaroni and cheese dishes. They take a classic simple thing and make all sorts of varieties out of it and it's wonderful. They also have local IPA and other local breqs on tap. They even have their own and it's decent. And the atmosphere is chef's kiss. All fun great vibes. Fun as a solo or in a group kid friendly 100% approved.
A perfect & delicious ending to my Corning Glass Museum visit... Mooney's Sports Bar & Grill has a unique variety of Mac & Cheese dishes & I had the Bacon Cheese Burger topped with panko bread crumbs. I highly recommend you go directly to this restaurant during your visit to Corning, NY. The staff is friendly, professional & accommodating; the atmosphere, easy-going & casual.
Really cool place. Our 1st time ever here. There were 7 people in our party. I don't remember our waitress's name but she was on top of everything. They have mac n cheese that is made numerous different ways. They have a big variety menu. And the plates are huge! I had a 1/2 lb cheeseburger and it was delicious. My wife and I shared a Mac n cheese "side" and we had left overs. But it was oh so good. Definitely a place I would eat at again. It is that good.
This place was so great, we went back the next night! With a multitude of literal award winning mac and cheeses to chose from and a great supporting ensemble of other options, it was hard to chose just one thing to have for dinner. The split level goves the place two personalities and allows more dining space without more noise. The service was good and the prices fair. We will be back!
This was a great find In Corning NY. We got a variety of food! The Mac and cheese, huge portions for just about 20. Couldn't go wrong. I got the pulled pork and hamburger. I loved to pork the hamburger was lacking flavor. It was topped with onion rings and bbq sauce!! The pretzel and cheese was delicious. Buffalo chicken and fries were good, we got medium but could have gotten the hot. Hamburger and fries were good as well. Beer and chocolate martini were a great choice! Food was out relatively quick. I did feel like we were pushed aside when it came to seating. Felt like the locals were seated first. Wait time went from 15 to 45 minutes. With many people who arrived after and sat first. Other than that it is a great spot for food and drinks!
I absolutely loved the Mac 'n' Cheese here—it was delicious! I'm already planning a return trip to sample more of their flavors. It was a marathon day, so the restaurant was packed, and the food service was a bit slow, but I completely understood given the crowd. Despite being slammed, the service was excellent and very attentive. This will be a must-stop whenever I'm back in Corning!
This was one of the best dining experiences in corning. I went there based on google reviews, and I was not disappointed in the slightest. I ordered the pepperoni rolls and also, yeah, the Favorite barbecue macaroni and cheese only a half of an order is all you need and I still couldn't finish. The portions are gargantuan so come hungry.
Wow. This place has a whole page worth of specialty Mac & Cheese dishes. Many of them are award winning recipes! Take note; the menu will say "side" and "full" options for the size of the meal... Don't make the mistake I did and order the full! I figured a side was just that, a smaller side portion. Well, i was wrong. The side size is a normal portion and the full size is HUGE. See the photo I added to this review. Delicious all around and the service was far and friendly!
Went early evening and enjoyed the nachos and a Moscow Mule - which both were delicious (I got the ground beef nachos)! I wanted to make my own, but that wasn't an option. I was able to order their Rodeo Mac and held the ground beef. It was AMAZING 👏 mac, pulled pork, fried onion straws and a BBQ sauce drizzle 🤯 so sad I have not had this in my life until now 😂😂 Hey Mooney's - Hear me out..... "Southern Trash" - mac, pulled pork, baked beans, fried onion straws, coleslaw slaw and a BBQ sauce drizzle You're Welcome 😊
I brought a friend along who had never been to this place! The service was top notch, the atmosphere was awesome and the food.... OMG AMAZING! The portion sizes are bigger than most, definitely sharable! Of course I will be back again, and so will he! We ordered the Side serving of the Mac N Cheese. He got broccoli, I ordered the chicken, bacon, ranch. Fried pickles and the shrimp w the raspberries sauce was delicious! They offer a monthly themed Mac and cheese as well as a full host of items added to the Mac n cheese ! Go check it out!! Every time I visit I am always wowed by the food!
I had the Chicken Bacon Ranch Mac and Cheese along with a Steuben Pilsner at the bar upstairs. Bartender was friendly and the food and beer were amazing. You can tell they make the macaroni and cheese in house and it really shines. I tried a side of the hot buffalo sauce with my food and it was really delicious. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!
A standout burger and huge, delicious portions of Mac-and-Cheese make Mooney’s Sports Bar & Grill an awesome place to check out in downtown Corning! The atmosphere in the bar was cozy and relaxed. Our server was very nice and attentive. The burgers were cooked to perfection and the Lobster Mac and cheese was delicious and a side portion was large enough to take some home for lunch and dinner the next day!
Food was great. This was a nice Mooneys, I've been in worse before. Waitress was very nice. Only downside was it was freezing! Bring a sweater if you easily get cold. Street parking only I believe.
Get here on a evening, prepare to wait. BEST time is weekdays for lunch. Mac and cheese of MANY varieties. 3 pigs is good, lobster is great, taco is awesome! A "side" potion can fill you up with leftovers, a full portion can feed a small army. Come hungry, leave happy and with food to spare. Pepsi products to drink.
Food was great, fresh/hot and delicious. Portions were fairly hefty! The price was a little high but it is in NY state after all… service seemed rush and it was a Saturday afternoon that wasn’t busy. We also had to request things like dips/dressing a few times before received. Typical pub. Parking (paid) in site. There is some street parking if you’re willing to walk a little farther.
The food and staff were great. They had hawg wings which is very hard to find. I gave it four stars because we waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our food and we're told it was because they were backed up in the kitchen but sat right down when we walked in the door. I would definitely recommend this place if your interested in trying hawg wings. Their French onion soup was delicious too!
They are apparently known for their mac & cheese so we thought we should give that a shot. They also had a nice hazy IPA named after the restaurant, but I'm not sure if they make it themselves or have it made for them. The whole serving of the mac is massive, so you could share or just get the smaller version for yourself. I enjoyed the Buffalo mac that I ordered, but the rest of the family wasn't a fan of their choices. I did test them out and the beef on weck had a strange flavor like rye bread. The original mac tasted too much like butter. They may have been having an off night since it took over 45 minutes to get our food, so I wouldn't count them out the next time we are in town. Service was good, especially considering how busy they were.
Pub / Sports Bar. The food was great! Huge portions and a huge wait time. We waited nearly 2 hours for our food. I have never waited so long for food at a restaurant in my entire life. Granted they were busy and we did visit this place during the Wineglass Marathon and a football game. Despite the wait time the food and service were AMAZING. The waitresses and waiters were all very pleasant, attentive and friendly. Regardless of the wait, we enjoyed our experience here. TV’s and signed memorabilia everywhere. We sat downstairs, there is a bar upstairs and you could tell they were having a blast. Everyone was happy and enjoying their meals. Also, if you are visiting the Corning Museum of Glass (like we were) you can walk here. We would visit again, definitely.
I cannot say enough great things about this place. First off, if you are a Mac n Cheese fan, you need to go here. I have had a few different Mac n Cheese including their Cheddar broccoli, Buffalo Chicken & the Lobster Mac -n- cheese. The appetizers are also very good! If you like pickles, you need to order fried pickles. They also have other options like burgers and wraps. Service is also excellent! This place is highly recommended and reasonably priced.
This local chain restaurant is famous for Mac and cheese, large portion bar food, and friendly atmosphere. They do it well. The Mac and cheese of the month I had, "breakfast", was mixed with homemade bacon jam which gave it a subtle but flavorful sweetness. Very impressive and deserves to be a regular item. The cesar dressing was very sour, almost too much in my opinion. The portion is beyond imagination, the small is bigger than the large in most places. Definitely a fun place to unwind and get comfort food.
The food was good. The service was quick and the staff was very nice and friendly. The only negative I have to mention is the water tasted funny, almost metal-like, so I suggest ordering a "real beverage" like a soda or an iced tea. Other than that I would definitely visit this place again! And I'd try some of their famous mac & cheese!
Was a little bit disappointed with my mac and cheese. The portions are immense, it's like a never-ending supply of carbohydrate and cheese. But I had the buffalo chicken, and it was a little short of the mark. Though a friend had a club sandwich and that looked outstanding and they raved about it. So perhaps I just made a mistake. I understand it's a chain, or regional franchise, and will definitely give it another go. But I think having mac and cheese as an entree, just doesn't work for me personally.
I love this place, the horseheads location is my favorite. Moonney's mac an cheese is what my kids say "the bomb". I found the place to be quiet, too quiet like, library quiet. Servers were available to help quietly 😉. No conversation, no real expression or sense of lively-ness given I guess is how to share the feeling. Very bland or dull almost sad feeling atmosphere. I typically just get pick up more comfortable for myself and my opinionated, outspoken kids.
Stopped in for some appetizers and drinks. The pretzels and cheese were fabulous (I could easily eat the cheese as is, it was amazing), as well as the Thai bourbon boneless wings. I had their Chocolate Martini and Winter Sangria, both of which were delicious. This place does get busy, but we enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back next time we’re in town!
This Corning spot gets a big thumbs up for its creative mac and cheese menu – seriously impressive variety! The Bavarian pretzel appetizer was good, but the beer cheese could use a little more oomph in the flavor department. Huge plus for the value – you definitely get your money's worth here. Before you read my thoughts on the mac, it is important to note that I am from Virginia where the mac and cheese is abundant and a huge staple, so my expectations may not align with what New York mac and cheese is. We tried the Rodeo mac and cheese, which had fried onions, pulled pork, cheddar, and BBQ sauce. The toppings were all delicious except for the pulled pork, which was kind of bland. I was expecting some smokiness or something extra, but it was just a bit greasy and I ended up mostly avoiding it. The noodles were smaller than I am used to, and the sauce didn't really stick to them very well. The cheese sauce itself was a bit thin for my taste – I prefer a thicker, creamier sauce with a good cheese pull. I also thought the sauce could use a lot more flavor. I was expecting a transcendental experience based on some of the reviews (and a Food Network highlight?) but again, I am a southerner in New York! If you are visiting from the south and southern mac is your favorite, you may only want to get a side of their mac so you can try for yourself and maybe try something else on their menu!
We stopped in on Memorial Day for dinner in the way back home from traveling. We sat upstairs at the bar. There weren’t to many people up there - you can see in one of my pictures a few in the upstairs dining area - but I’m sure people were doing theirs holiday get togethers. I imagine they are busy on a normal day. Apparently this place is know for its Mac and cheese but we didn’t get any. The chicken souvlaki salad was very good. The beef sandwich was good as well from the very little of it that was left on the plate. The bartender was friendly and attentive. One of the bathroom doors sticks so if you have to go, keep an eye on the door and if no one comes out in a few minutes chances are the door just is sticking. There were stairs to get upstairs - not sure if there is an elevator or not but it did look like there was downstairs dining too - I didn’t actually look too hard so I could be wrong. If you like Mac and cheese you should probably try that.
I was a little disappointed in this place after reading the other reviews. The server was overwhelmed with people, so it probably wasn't her fault. The food came out cold. It was a little too noisy upstairs where we were seated. If I'm ever in the area again, I would try it again, as I'm willing to give them a second chance.
If you like dry well done meat you'll love the burger. Has to be frozen because even well done meat has juice. This was bone dry. Its an OK place but definitely not an Irish pub.
We were hyped for Mooney's when we found it as a place near the Corning Museum of Glass being that it was known for its Mac & Cheese, and traveling with two kids seemed destined to be a hit. Let me start off, the staff was phenomenal. They were beyond polite, cheery, and attentive. And the atmosphere was great. But it pains me to write that the food was a massive letdown. The french fries and the Bavarian pretzels were the highlight of the food. And the beer cheese sauce was very flavorful. That is where the positive ends unfortunately, because we wanted to love this place. My daughters kiddie burger was only a tiny bit bigger than a golf ball, and was beyond well done. And while the mac and cheeses looked VERY impressive. The looks is all they had going. The mac & cheeses were all bland. I got their local, award winning "The Bomb" which was steak and Hungarian peppers. I don't know who judged that competition in Corning, but they must have been having an off day for taste buds. There was zero flavor to the mac, and only when I'd get a pepper was there any flavor. No one in my family enjoyed it either. This still doesn't get better from here... My wife for the Buffalo mac. Same thing. Bland with no flavor. It's almost like they don't bother to properly season the cheese sauce. Sure, there was Frank's Red Hot sauce flavor, but you couldn't taste the cheese. She effectively had macaroni with Frank's on it. My son got the regular M&C that they are supposed to be famous for. Once again, the entire family agreed that it just tasted like unseasoned sauce on macaroni. I actually felt bad writing this review because the staff was so nice, and we left a huge tip because we felt so bad about not liking the food. But alas, it wasn't great. I wish we had picked something else while in Corning.
Disappointing...I went in for the Pumpkin Martini advertised on the outdoor sign. What I got was a hefty dose of pumkin spice seasoning over something that tasted like vanilla flavored Nestlé Quick. If there was any alcohol in it, I couldn't tell. I also ordered the cheese quesadilla. It was not good, floppy and swimming in grease. It came with lettuce and tomato on the side. The lettuce was good, but the tomato had gone bad. Our server was friendly and attentive. However, seemed visibly annoyed when I told her I didn't want a to-go container and the food wasn't good. Still, she removed the quesadilla from our bill without asking which I appreciated.
I ate at Mooney's a year ago randomly and was pleasantly surprised how delicious the food was. I got the hawk wings with Mac n cheese dinner. It was so good I couldn't stop ranting and raving how delicious the food was to people I knew. I live in West Virginia with my fiance and I told her about this place going on and on how she'll love the food at Mooney's. I planned on driving 5 and a half hours from WV to take my Fiance on a summer vacation in the Corning NY area with the main focus of treating her to Mooney's. I'm currently working 30 minutes away from Mooney's and had some down time today, so I decided to go hiking in Montour, New York stopping at Mooney's first for some lunch. I walk in at 11:40am telling the hostess it's just me eating. She leads me to the upstairs bar even tho their was plenty of seating available downstairs. It's just me and two other patrons upstairs when I sit at the bar. The bartender/server greets me and hands me a menu. I open it up and I'm looking at the meal I've been craving for a whole year, the hawk wings with Mac n cheese. The bartender sees me looking at it and informs that they are out of hawk wings and they've been out of it for months. Bummer! I was deeply disappointed... Mad to be honest since I went out my way to eat here. I ask for a tall glass of beer. The bartender gets a regular cup and doesn't even bother to pour the beer in the cup. While I make an alternative food selection, the bartender disappears downstairs for over 10 minutes. Agitating because I was running on a tight time constraint. She finally comes back and I put in an order for honey garlic tenders with fries. It took over 20 minutes for my order to arrive. I'm pissed off at this point. The tenders came out warm, not hot like they should have been since the order took so long to arrive. My fries were cold and unseasoned. I only ate two pieces of fries. The tenders were big, juicy, nourishing and yummy. While I ate, the bartender never checked on me. Her service was a smidge below average and a smidge above terrible. My meal came to $21.59, I tipped $10, a 47% tip even tho her service warranted a $2 tip. As I got up to leave the establishment, 3 patrons next to me quipped "where'd the bartender go, do she want to get paid or what?"... So it wasn't just me who noted the less than stellar service. Unfortunately I have no intentions of ever continuing my patronage to Mooney's nor recommend it to friends, family, and associates as I previously glowingly did.
Good sports bar atmosphere with wide tables, good spacing, large tv screens and warm tones. The place certainly has an identity when you walk in. Staff are friendly enough. Here's the nitty gritty: There is no wait area. With the 20 min wait time we had there was nowhere for my husband and I to stand or sit that wasn't in the way of the host or waitress going up or down the stairs. We were tempted to go elsewhere. The reception desk is a bit long and could have made room for a least 3 or 4 chairs. About the food, a good majority of the food is marinated or fried with a possible food allergen so if you have unique food needs be prepared to ask for something to be cooked in a separate pan. Your options are still limited. It took close to 40 minutes for the food to arrive. What was ordered: Him: (1) 1/2 lb medium cooked burger with provolone cheese, mushrooms and lettuce. No tomatoes or onions. Salad side. Me: (1) same burger as his except with cheddar cheese and add sweet peppers. French fries as the side. What was observed: (1) 1/2 lb well done charred bottom (dry) burger with provolone cheese, mushrooms and lettuce. (1) 1/2 lb well done charred top and bottom (dry) burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, and a regular chopped green pepper (uncooked) on the side of the plate. No mushrooms as requested. No sweet peppers as the menu stated as an option. I had to flag the waitress down after a few minutes of not seeing her to ask where the mushrooms were. She said she didn't know I wanted them. I asked her about the random regular pepper. She says "oh, the sweet peppers are the yellow and red, right? We don't have those."...But your menu says you do. To top it off, they were not even sautéed, just cold out the fridge. I wasn't impressed with the burger. I only ate half because I had already been waiting an hour before the food arrived but the fries were good. They weren't greasy and were light.
We went in for lunch yesterday (around 1). Walked in there was a sign that said wait for hostess. After several people looked at us we took it upon ourselves to walk upstairs. Getting upstairs the bartender came over asked us if we would like to dine in. We told her yes. She said well there is a wait list so you will have to wait. We then stood there for about 10 minutes. We asked her how long approximately the wait would be. She said didn’t I make myself clear you need to go downstairs and check with them. We proceeded to go downstairs and a woman immediately seated us (no wait list). The waitress downstairs was very friendly and that is the only reason I am giving 2 stars. As for the food. A sandwich was ordered along with the Philly Mac and cheese. The sandwich was good. The Mac n cheese on the other hand. The peppers and onions were completely raw almost to the point the dish was inedible with the overbearing taste of raw onion. Made it thru about 5 bites. The waitress was very apologetic and asked if she could take it back and have it fixed. There was no way to fix raw vegetables in a freshly baked Mac n cheese. I thanked her but declined her offer as to that point I had absolutely no appetite. In the end paid $50 for lunch and will not be returning. This was definitely not the same place, food, or atmosphere that my husband and I experienced about 5 years ago. Very disappointed.
We have visited Mooney's a couple of times in the past and have found that the food has been very inconsistent. Today, we ordered wings and mac and cheese for takeout and were very disappointed with the food. Firstly, we ordered bone-in chicken and we got boneless. The chicken and the flavoring/sauce were very mid. Mac and cheese side was decent but wish it had more flavor. There was barely any celery in the boxes.
This place is truly a dump, tried to order three chicken fingers, was told absolutely not, they only have catering trays, terrible attitude from a place known for this nonsense.
Racism deserves no stars. As someone who works in customer service I always greet workers warmly, got a cold response no biggie. Me (Black woman) and my fiance (Hispanic man) immediately were asked if downstairs seating was okay (wasn't aware there was an upstairs it was our first time) still no biggie. I noticed everyone else that came in after us was white and they were immediately seated upstairs..... interesting. My fiance asked if there was a drink menu and was rudely told to "Stand up and look at it" as it was hanging on up an unseen wall. We left and went to Burgers and Beer right next door :)
My family and I ordered our food for pickup only to be very disappointed with the results. The fried pickles were soggy to a point we doubted they were even cooked, their wings were somehow a horrible combinations of burned and soggy with flavour reminiscent of a wet dog. The only thing done right was the chips and artichoke dip, the only thing they didn't have to cook. This was my first time and it will absolutely be the last. Disgusting.
Absolutely disappointing! The service at Mooney's Bar and Grill was a silver lining amidst the gloom. Our waitress was attentive and timed her check-ins impeccably. The real letdown, however, was the substantial $120 we shelled out for our meal, which ended up being an exercise in wastefulness as we barely made a dent in it due to the taste. Leaving the establishment, a wave of discomfort descended upon my family of four. Within a stone's throw, we found ourselves perfusivly Puking in an alleyway. It was a sight to behold as each member of my family had our moment of gastric expulsion, contributing to the alley's decor. Facing this moment we didn't hesitate to discard our scarcely touched dishes, promptly tossing them into the nearest dumpster. The indedible impression left by our nauseating ordeal lingers on. Mooney's Bar and Grill, you have gifted us an unforgettable experience, etched into our memories as a cautionary tale for generations to come. Bravo, indeed!
Might be worth eating in or driving to another location besides the Corning location. We arrived to pick up and there was a crowd of people waiting and no one was upfront to greet guests. After awhile We ended up just grabbing our mobile order that was sitting out and left no one ever came out. Fries were clearly microwaved… I would suggest going to one of their other locations.
Honestly, this was such a disappointing experience. We were seated quickly (and by seated I mean the host handed us the menus and sent us upstairs on our own with directions to our table). The stairway is narrow so that's fine. Fast forward to us ordering. The menu is large so there's a lot to look at. You could tell the server was getting impatient with us. When we finally placed our order it seemed to have taken an abnormally long time to get our food. There were a lot of tables that had quite a few people at it and we were just two so I figured that might have been the reason. Except when we finally received our meal it was cold. Like it had been sitting in the back for 20 minutes cold. Our server wasn't even the one to bring us the food and she never showed up for the rest of the meal so I couldn't even tell her. Our bill still came out to like $50 but honestly we should have just went to a fast food restaurant because it would have been cheaper and probably the same quality (maybe better). Honestly, for a place that advertises that they've been on the Food Network, it makes me feel like the Food Network is not a reliable source at all if they're picking places like this.
