Everything was amazing. From the ambience to the taste of the lattes, 10 out of 10. The only thing I’ll add is that everything was a little pricey. My fiancée and I got a scone, bun, and 2 coffees for $29 which is a little expensive but we were in vacation so that okay. The baristas were wonderful and very welcoming. They really know their stuff and even offered some suggestions when they caught me struggling with what to order. Great place and I highly recommend!

Such friendly staff and incredible espresso. They really care you have a good experience and the vibes are immaculate

Fantastic menu! If you are a coffee lover/nerd this is your place. Have a look at the menu pics I took, it would take too long to write down the beauty of what they offer. Highly recommended! Cool vibes overall, the vintage machines they are using are a plus. I’d like to have more seats indoor (that watch showcase is awkwardly positioned) and a bathroom would be great (I guess it was not doable)

What a gem of a place... The staff were fantastic and made me feel right at home even though I was only getting takeaway. The highlight was the caramelised croissant (sorry forgot the actual name), could have eaten 10 of them. Almost ate it all before I got the photo. If you are in the area, it's a must go place.

Fantastic place for all coffee enthusiasts. Coffee gear galore and quality beans for sale. In addition they were selling awesome things like vinyl, shinola watches, and knife sharpening services. Friendly staff would definitely stop by again

The best coffee shop ever!! We got a little lost and ended up in this town and we're so happy we did!! It just opened in July and is the coolest place ever!!! Oscar is the owner and is very knowledgeable about all things coffee. He made me the best nitro cold brew with a homemade Swiss chocolate foam. Also the lemonade was the best I ever had. It was made with fresh fruits and had a home made guava foam topped with a fresh fruit infusion. Absolutely delicious!!! IG- @traveleen_gurl

This is a really great place, with cozy vibes, nice staff and good menu options. Got a Matcha Honeydew latte, it tasted great. Costed around $6 for 12 ounce. Also got a Danish which was good. Their holiday decorations are really cute.

Such a cute location! Really nice and cozy (and a great music playlist too). The staff are super friendly, and their service is incredibly prompt. Not a huge amount of seating, but I didn't have any issues just after noon on a Saturday. Their drink specials are also very cool. Separates it from other coffee shops around! Definitely recommend for a quick drink if in the area.

Such beautiful little cozy coffee shop. Loved the ambiance & settings. We hardly get to see these in the city. Lots of merchandise to buy as a gift. It’s sad that I didn’t get a chance to try their pastries but definitely next time.

Their pastries were so good!! Freshly baked from a famous bakery in NYC. Coffees were fantastic, with some fun, unique menu items. The staff was so nice and helpful. They have tons of cool items for sale in the market area of the shop, I bought some gifts and stuff for the kitchen!

Very helpful staff! And the matcha was very good.

A guy from Seattle looking for good coffee. This place hit the mark and added a little more with the 100yr old espresso maker getting a smoother pull for your caffeine and a 28hr cold brew. Knowledgeable staff that knew more than the average barrista and helpful as well if I had any questions

One of the best coffee places I’ve ever had and the best service as well. The guys in there are so incredibly nice and friendly and the coffee is even more amazing. Very much worth it to go in and get anything. The coffee is the BEST coffee I’ve ever tasted I love it in there too much.

Stopped by on the way to Storm King and were absolutely delighted to find excellent coffee, charming owners, tasty baked goods, and a generally generous and jovial vibe. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Everything I've gotten from there is really delicious and the cups are really cute. I go a lot with my dad or friends. My only complaint is that there aren't many non-coffee or non-tea drinks. I have to rely on specials a lot.

B

Had the chili cheese Palmieri and bourbon barrel Cortada coffee and both were delicious. Great tiny little cafe in the ocean of dunkin doughnut shops littering the road.

What an amazing shop! The coffee is to die for. They also curate all kinds of unique and cool things like foods and items, cookware and household goods. I have been going here multiple times a week since they opened.

For living in area all my life I have never been to this little coffee shop and it was such a cool little place. The atmosphere was perfect and they had so many specialty Knick knacks throughout the cafe but not too overwhelming. We tried their seasonal coffee and tea and they were delicious.

Love this coffee shop! Friendliest baristas, amazing drinks. Everything I've ever tried there was delicious. Bought a few things from their shop too over the years. Highly recommend!

Such a nice, fresh experience in the Cornwall community. You’re definitely paying a pretty high price for coffee here, but it’s worth every single penny. I had a black iced coffee and it was the best coffee I think I’ve ever had. The service is spectacular and the gentlemen working there are very sweet. One man offered me an extra shot of espresso since I had a long shift at work that day (and I most definitely said yes). I plan to frequent the shop. Definitely recommend to any Cornwall locals or anyone traveling through Cornwall. Overall awesome experience, thanks guys!

M
Minelik Shimellis

Stopped by this coffee shop after a hike and ordered the Pistachio creme milano coffee. Very very good; the coffee is not overly roasted and the combination of the pistachio and milk is excellent. The baristas are very knowledgeable about the coffee beans roasted and sold there and also provide great recommendations about where to eat and visit around town. But seriously: try their specialty lattes!

X
Ximena Greco

Amazing Coffee! Probably the best coffee in a 50 mile radius! I am a Colombian native and coffee is what we do! The level and quality of their espresso machine is like nothing I have ever seen! But just coffee doesn’t make a place, the staff and the baristas are extremely attentive, cordial and friendly, they really aim to give you so much more than a cup of joe, they aim for the best experience… and they are pretty successful at it! I will be back many, many times more!

I absolutely love everything about Mercantile Coffee! It's a ☆ ☆☆☆☆ experience all the way.... Yes, the coffee is great, the baked goods delicious and it's stocked with so many cool items to peruse while you wait for your order but the best thing about Mercantile Coffee is the staff!!!! Oscar, George and all the crew just make every visit a delight! Can't wait for the new place to open!!

This place is the BEST thing that happened to Cornwall. The coffee is incredible and the friendly staff will have you coming back as a regular. The shoppe is so much fun to visit. On display you can see how they create their nitro cold brew coffee and they have a ton of unique items for purchase - from axes & camping equipment to vinyls & organic honey. A MUST VISIT!

M
Mike Smith

The best coffee in the Hudson Valley, no question about it! Their cold brew is sooo smooth and mellow. Their daily specials are also a lot of fun to try whether it is coffee, tea or even Meyer lemonade. I must add that the cold foam they make is rich and luxurious, this is nothing like the stuff you'd get at Starbucks, it is buttery in texture and very full-bodied. Also, they flavor it to accentuate the drink (Milano Italian Chocolate, roasted hazelnut, tiramisu). The whole staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. The store is fun to browse, well curated and has something for everyone. After some tips and insider information from Oscar I'm making the best cold brew coffee at home. How many coffee shops actually improve your home coffee making skills?! This place should be on your regular rotation.

Love love love this place! Delicious coffee and drinks, awesome baked goods, lovely and kind staff! Thankful for the new NY guidelines because it’s wonderful to see the staff and owners smiling faces again, you can tell they love what they do!! Happy they don’t need their masks!

I do not drink coffee BUT Mercantile has the BEST variety of ice tea's in Orange County. The chocolate scones are my special treat. The shop is super cute and the employees are warm and welcoming.

Great place, wonderful staff, awesome and easy gift buying in a pinch... the cold hot chocolate is my kids new replacement for ice cream (for better or worse?!) - I almost took a star away for price though. Can only afford this place about 1x/month! Not everyone here is a tourist... Wish we had a locals' discount! hint hint, no so subtle hint.....

Upon my first meeting with Oscar Dotter he spent nearly an hour explaining the process of making a good espresso to my husband and me. We were hooked at that moment. This business owner not only served amazing coffee, but wanted us to know that he really cared about his product (s). From then on we have patronized Coffee Co. for Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, and coffee on the regular. Oscar, Jorge and their staff are kind, professional and a pleasure to see when we grab our usual cup of Joe. I HIGHLY recommend this adorable shoppe to anyone looking for GREAT coffee and impeccable service. xo!

2nd time here and it’s a nice spot to chill, grab a well made cup of coffee and fresh baked goods. Bonus for the cool items they have in store from brands like Shinola Watches & Pendleton Mills available for purchase. Anytime we’re in Cornwall and need a cup of great coffee, this is the place to stop

Wonderful find in their new location just up the street from the last. We were greeted by friendly baristas and staff, enjoyed refreshing herbal tea and a classic, delicious macchiato! Picked out some scrumptious Balthazar baked goods snd s loaf of bread. Shopped fir a few gifts and just enjoyed the warm ambiance of the new space! Shinola goods were a surprise to find but welcome having spent time once touring the mother ship factory and store in Detroit! Well worth a visit.

Oscar I love your shop and your coffee. I'm so glad that you have become a part of town! My dig here is the pricing though. I came in for a black coffee today and it was $4.25 pre-tax. woof! I get it on the fancy drinks but for black coffee out of a pot that is pretty steep brotha!

A

I had the pleasure of visiting my brother and his family over the holidays. What a delightful surprise to discover Cornwall Coffee Co. & Mercantile, tucked into the Hudson Valley amidst a lively, local Hallmark-holiday-style Main Street. A coffee connoisseur’s dream, the chemistry and technique that goes into each beverage created here is worth the time for a custom cup of [insert your favorite daily special here!] Shoppers will find gifts, wants, and needs—a visual celebration amidst old and new merchandise—Pendleton woolens, Shinola watches, clocks, and must-have bags (one of each, please!) Properly placed vintage treats, records, books, candles, coffees, candies, and so much more. Cornwall Coffee Co. & Mercantile is a must see with its authentic, unique, and locally tailored aesthetic. Here’s the twist: everything’s for sale—including the recently refurbished plush velvet booths perfectly suited for two.

Best coffee in Cornwall. The owner and staff make you feel like you’re part of the family! Awesome mercantile too. Lots of fun and unique items to buy, the staff are knowledgeable and enjoy taking the time to talk with you about their items.

Probably top 3 americanos I’ve ever had. Wonderful taste and great crema. The shop itself is full of super over the top expensive gifts (shinola) and hip records (Marcus king) One complaint: they don’t open earlier. 9 am is just too late IMO. Not enough of a deterrent to notch a half star though

M

I just LOVE this coffee shop!! The owner and staff are SO welcoming. They engage in conversation with every single customer as you enter the cozy shop. The aroma is heavenly as you step in. The coffees, specialty drinks etc are made with love & quality ingredients and with delight your tastebuds. The pastries are delicious! The unique items for sale make wonderful gifts. You can learn about the brewing, coffees and cold brew while here. Visiting this shop is an experience you must try, by far the best coffee shop in the HUDSON Valley! It was finally nice to see the faces of the staff once masks were not required. The staff does offer to wear masks if customers request . How’s that for customer service!!

Amazing staff and even better coffee and baked goods. If you truly love coffee and want the best, this is the place to go. They know their stuff and even work on espresso machines. After all that, decor is great. They also have some really cool merchandise/supplies/goods from a wide variety of vendors.

I love this place, true espresso connoisseurs, and you can tell from their beautifully restored coffee equipment. Ambience is great too, and I like that they display proof that all employees have been vaccinated, so one can rest easy about them not wearing masks. I really liked visiting here. Thanks and keep it up!

This is the cutest coffee shop I’ve been to in a while! Their leather couch is the most amazing place to sink into while you’re sipping their amazing drinks! We waited here for almost an hour while waiting for our breakfast table to open up at Fiddlestix Cafe across the street - and we were glad for the wait!

L

Very cozy and laid back. Here’s some of my go to items: • Iced Oxford with the tonic drizzle on top • Blueberry or any fruit Cheese Danish • Apple Galette • Raspberry tea • Iced caramel latte • Iced bourbon latte If your drink is not what you thought it was going to be, ask them for something else! Also, they have a second location in Beacon… IT’S AWESOME! 🙏🏻

This place is such a good vibe! There was this very cool "old timey" letter board that updates with different messages - reminds me of like 80's / 90's movies with signs that change letter-by-letter in a train station to display new information. It makes a cool sound, but it is not loud enough to take you out of whatever you are doing. The chocolate croissant was delicious so i got two of them, along with a special coffee that had blueberry in it. Last bit- the employees working were very talented at making the beverages and extremely kind.

Best espresso drink I’ve had in a long time. The pastry was also delicious. The pricing reflects the quality, so if you’re used to McDonalds pricing and quality, this isn’t your place.

B

The decor and ambiance in this place was very nice. Visited after a very nice hike on Storm King mountain. Needed a nice pick me up and a maple bacon latte was calling my name. And the foam was velvety too. If you need an axe or some beard oil they got that as well

D
Domenic Baiocco

If you need the best iced latte and want to feel like you’re sitting in your living room, drop everything and come here. Amazing service, stuff to buy and amazing community vibes. My recommendation is the Stracciatella.

Super cool place to shop for gifts. I have had the coffee in the past and it was great, but yesterday I was looking for a gift for a friend's birthday. My wife reminded me about this shop and I'm glad that I went. This will be my go-to place for unique, high quality gifts. To the team working last night - Thank you for a great experience. I rarely write reviews, but you inspired me!

Loved this spot. Very inviting atmosphere and great coffee and pastries. I love the coffee mugs with the little faces. I got their cappuccino and they accommodated for my ask to make it more dry (more foam) and I was quite satisfied. Would definitely recommend and return

Cornwall Coffee Co. & Mercantile is one of my favorite places in the area. They have amazing drinks and high-quality coffee. The owner Oscar is fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable about coffee (he even roasts his own for the shop) and, time permitting, will spend hours talking to you about coffee. His staff is wonderful as well! I love going in and seeing the guys. Everyone is very personable and will take the time to talk to you about your day, remember what you said, and ask you follow-up questions when they see you again! The mercantile part of the store is cool too. I’ve gotten some pretty great baking items from there that I wouldn’t have found anywhere else. My stepdad even got a fancy espresso machine from them that he loves. Every time I have friends come into town, I take them here. I highly recommend Cornwall Coffee Co. & Mercantile! Their drinks (and baked goods from Balthazar Bakery) are the best I’ve ever had!

Such a cute and unexpected find while visiting upstate NY. We drove by and noticed the outdoor setting, decided to pull over and get a cup of coffee. We were pleasantly surprise by the beautiful selection of gifts to take back home and also by the quality of coffee being offered. A definite must stop for anyone in Cornwall or looking for a little road trip.

Great place to visit. Expensive but well worth the price. Cosy atmosphere. I hope they add some tables and welcome people in to get some work done here. I could see myself being comfy all day. I’ve attached the winter 2025-(early)2026 menu!

Can you say...best kept secret! Coffee is amazing! Worth the drive. Nice little place, very nice employees, looking for a unique gift? You will find it here.

M

Appreciate the complexity of the coffee drinks, very tasty and not overly sweet. They vibe is cool, though not really much sitting room. Prices are a little high, but worth it if you're really a coffee connoisseur.

J

Real good espresso and espresso drinks. Simple assortment of pastry's but above average. Cool interior. Worth a visit.

Adorable shop, but a bit pricey with limited food choices. No bagels, muffins or spreads, and pastries couldn’t be warmed up.

j

Small spot with good coffee, good atmosphere, very random but high quality “mercantile goods” - super lame music though, sorry but it’s a groovy coffee shop you gotta do better than hozier and djo

K

We got the Half moon harvest and a malted latte. Really good coffee with deep flavors. The cranberry scones were soft, buttery and crunchy on the outside.

D
Dimitar Georgiev

Nice stuff. Coffee is good. Walnut cookies are amazing. It was not just a regular coffee shop. It is like coffee shop mixed with some other products…. Really nice place. 2 years later I have to change my review. I was there twice for the last month. Unfortunately something happened and now espresso does not have the same quality as before. You can get better coffee on better prices in Manhattan.

M
M

Really overpriced to start , $5.35 for an Americano. I wouldn't moan if the coffee was actually exceptional but it's just dark roast so it's honestly hard to tell the difference between this and Starbucks.. yeah, I said it. 2 Alices makes a better Americano for $2 cheaper.

C
Campbell Cross

had the weakest coffee ever here and its sad bc the description was really exciting (slow drip iced coffee). They gave me the drink and it was so watered down you could see through to the counter. First sip tasted like I was drinking dirt water. Really unfortunate on a $6.50 drink. We were on our way through to storm king so I didnt ask them to remake the drink.

R
Ren Henry

I want to like this place, but not gonna lie it’s a little overrated. The Beacon location is pretty good, but for some reason this spot manages to mess up my drink every other time I’m here. I’ve never had a latte that tastes as good as it sounded. On a positive note, the non-coffee drinks are usually really good! I don’t know if it’s seasonal, but they have a milk-tea that is DELICIOUS

Dinesh Thangavel
Dinesh Thangavel

J
Jason Griffith

Charming environment and nice people. One problem, the guy making my latte doesn’t know how to make a late. Overdrawn espresso with literally boiling milk. Terrible. Bummer.

R
Reggie Hilaire

On the positive side, this is the cutest store on Main St In Cornwall especially in their new location. Staff are super friendly, pastries are great, the coffee is really good and the atmosphere is so cozy. I could stay here for hours. The only big negative is the price… one small cup of plain coffee with milk is $3.78! So you could imagine what the fancy drinks costs, way more than Starbucks. This business is great for Cornwall but for me I can’t come here very often.

D
Drew Connolly

Average coffee and very overpriced. The aesthetic of the shop is very nice but service is terrible. The workers basically act like they are doing you a favor when you order a 7 dollar iced coffee. Brooklyn prices and attitude in a relaxed Cornwall location

D
Danya Neeze (MSPfangirl)

food and drinks are good but none of the employees were wearing masks. like, i get it’s not necessary if vaccinated, but this place is a size of a shoebox and i’m sure they serve hundreds of people. wearing a mask really should be the bare minimum for you guys.

I walked in for a small decaf coffee. He told me it would be a little while, sure no problem. I went to pay he said 4.61. I said "wait I only ordered a small decaf?" he said "yes with cream". I said that's too expensive and walked out. If for some reason I was given the wrong price, I'll change my review.

I found it so incredibly irritating that the worker decided to tidey up the place around me were i was sitting after i ordered my drink. Before I ordered both workers were hanging in the back. They could have taken care of cleaning the store before i order and settled down and the place was completely empty. Nobody wants the smell of chemicals from the windex spray bottle a dust flying everywhere from sweeping when their trying to enjoy their food/drink. The worker overdid it with the spray too. Got my stomach to turn and it gave me a headache along with the sound of the loud vacuuming in the back. This sort of thing should have been taken care of when they had down-time and its not too busy. I guess they dont teach these workers how to do things properly anymore. Its rediculously over priced as well. A plain iced tea, no sugar, no milk cost me $7. Its definitely a first and last for me.

Ordered a hot caramel latte no whipped cream. Got an iced caramel latte WITH whip. Another customer ordered hot and also got iced. The two male baristas were too busy flirting with a female friend sitting at the counter
