Was going to Niagara Falls with my family and stopped at this Denny’s for breakfast. Service was very good and the manager Miguel came around to make sure everything was okay and if we needed anything. Overall a pleasant experience.

I went today for my birthday. I had a female friend with me who is over 60. Instead of getting my meal free and her getting a senior discount. they charged her full price and only gave me partial discount. I will tell everyone I know that you enjoy ripping off old people! That your restaurant hates old people and will take advantage when ever possible!

Such friendly staff, even the owner came over to say hello! Denny’s Is a past time favor that needs to continue its legacy for many more years to come. Please keep the Cortland Denny’s open for families and students to enjoy, thank you!

Great experience at this restaurant !! We were greeted by a very kind lady at the front counter. We asked for a booth with sun and she gave us exactly what we wanted. She was truly friendly and we even discussed about our trip and that she was from down south also. The waitress was also very friendly and joked with us 👍😁 The food was delicious and the portions amazing ! It felt like we just had eaten at a buffet. Would definitely come back here again !

My husband and I have been here twice. Both times the food we ordered was excellent! My husband had steak and eggs and the steak was cooked to perfection and he loved it. The omlets are so yummy!! Our server Nicholas M was a very good server he was very polite and nice. Would go there again if passing through cortland again. Need more servers like him. We had build your own grand slam, melted roast beef sandwich and the bourbon hamburger all was very tasty and the service was excellent. The food was delivered quickly

Our server Kaia (not sure if I'm spelling that right) was so nice and made our family's night. We haven't gone out to eat as a family in awhile and I was so thankful by her polite and friendly service even late at night. Thank you Kaia for being our server tonight!

The waitress was very patient and nice. She brewed us a new pot of coffee when we asked her to microwave and warm our current not so warm cups of coffee. We would’ve been just fine with a reheat, but she insisted it was no trouble. She was also very observant which is a A+++ for us. I’m a server myself and have become very particular about the service I receive. There are a lot of servers out in the world today (that I’ve experienced) that just seem to be working their jobs to say they are working rather than working their jobs to actually care about their customers enough to remember that they’re working for a tip too!

Jodi, our server, was super sweet and funny. She was attentive to us and our needs as we had our late breakfast ~2pm. We had a very long and exhausting weekend so going out to eat was something of a treat for ourselves. The food was delicious and it was one of the first places I've seen crepes on the menu - they were delicious. My boyfriend loved his food and overall it was just a wonderful experience. Jodi was happy to accommodate to us and our requests and was very polite.

The food was great, the hostess and waitress were both kind and friendly. The waitress would go around to check on everyone in the diner in a good timely manner. Had the Philly steak omelette and it was great. Their boneless buffalo wings are also way better than Applebee's. Applebee's boneless wings are always cooked to death and dry. Denny's boneless buffalo wings are cooked spot on. They have a great texture and taste. The taste of the wings are something similar to a franks sauce without a ton of bite to them, so I would say just about anyone could enjoy them. The wife got a strawberry smoothie that I tried and it also tasted great. I told the waitress how I don't really drink hot coffee, and asked if they had ice coffee. She was very accommodating, and brought out a cup of ice that I could add coffee and French vanilla creamer to. They also have a pretty good mix of music that they play in the diner that anyone could listen to , and it's not overly loud or quiet. The music is just right. Overall a pretty great cozy diner to grab a meal at.

Very good breakfast & brunch place. Kids love here. Their Chocolate milkshake is too good. Good servers. A little wait during weekends. But the wait is worth. All the items in the meanu are good. Highly recommend for people with kids.

So beyond amazed at how helpful they were, I work with people with developmental disabilities and we brought five individuals in for lunch, before we even made it to the door they were holding the doors open for us and welcoming us with open arms, so caring and compassionate and we’re so sweet and kind. I highly recommend to anyone because they had tables ready for us that were able to fit four wheel chairs. Without us even having to ask, so grateful for dennys. Some people don’t understand how hard it is for restaurants to try and make room for so many wheel chairs to where it makes it hard to bring them to some places and they deserve to go out just like us, so it was a amazing feeling.

I was skeptical about this Denny’s when I pulled into the parking lot. It had a couple of cars in the lot and didn’t look to be in the best shape. I went on to order breakfast anyway. The staff was great! Very attentive and on point. The meal that I ordered was the double berry breakfast. It was the best meal that I have ever had at any of the Denny’s that I have been in. The food was cooked perfectly! The hash browns were so amazing that I asked the waitress to pass on my compliments to whoever was cooking in the kitchen.

We came in for dinner for my daughters birthday. My daughter proudly announced it was her 4th birthday when we walked in. The hostess wished her a happy birthday, gave her a toy and brought us to our table. The waitress was also very nice and attentive. She also wished her a happy birthday. She checked on us regularly fir drink refills and to see if we needed anything. When we asked for to go boxes she brought them to us then the hostess, cook and the other waitress on came over with her bringing my daughter an ice cream, sang her happy birthday and had 3 stuffed animals for her to choose from. This absolutely made her day! We didn't ask them to do anything they just hea4d it was her birthday and went out of their way to make her dinner there special.

I love coming here to eat and not for the food as much as because of the staff. Anastasia always gives us great service, she’s very attentive to our needs and refills our drinks without us asking. Rita the manager is the sweetest woman I’ve ever met-she treats us like family and never forgets a name or a face. The food is always served hot and delicious. Great Job Cortland Denny’s!!

Today, 04/08 Tuesday I had lunch here with my elderly friend around 11ish. The young African American gal that waited on us was amazing! A kind, gentle soul. I forget her name but it was refreshing to have her as our server after my hospital stay. We need more people like her 😀

On December 24th, during our journey from Washington to Ottawa, we stopped for brunch at Denny’s in Cortland, and it turned into an unforgettable experience. We've always loved this location and were excited to go out for breakfast as a family for the first time in a long while. Our server was very cranky and "short" and the hostess was very difficult to understand and could barely understand my question when I tried to ask if menus were sanitized between customers, when she finally understood me she snapped and said "That's what we're trying to do here" indicating a table nearby with several items on top and some slippers underneath(?) Overall most of our experience was pretty good, we were seated quickly and the food came out good and hot. The server was short and snappy when I requested butter packets and additional creamer (we were only given 2 creamer packs and 2 sugar packs each)

The food was really good and the plates were good size. I could not believe how much food was in our meals. The only complaint that I have is that the servers looked miserable. They didn't smile a lot, However, they did a wonderful job at serving us.

We went on a Sunday morning for a quick breakfast . There were only 2 of us and we ordered eggs and the all American dish Taking into account that the place was busy, it literally took one hour for our food to be served, which was shocking. The place seemed to have enough wait staff , not sure what was going on in the kitchen, but that wait time seems a little excessive. (The waitress was attentive and apologized for the long wait)

It's a Dennys so we weren't expecting much but the food was good and the service was great. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. We ordered burgers which were fresh and tasty. We always stop here on our trip back home from NJ.

The doors at the entry were gross, sticky and very much unpleasant to touch. It looked run down. The staff was pleasant. The food was as expected. Cost was a bit high for what we had. $20 a person for Denny's is too much.

Stopped here on our road trip, it was late one evening they were closing early that evening but still seated us and took our orders. We were a party of 5 including 3 children, the staff was patient and never rushed us. They even made small talk with my daughter it was her birthday and she was super chatty lol.

Food was good, not enough cheese on the omelet, appetizers cooked a bit too long. Service was great.

Not bad but not amazing either. The food is ok and the service was nice. I enjoy that refills are free and the drinks are nicely flavored. I would not avoid eating here but I also wouldn't suggest someone to eat here just because there are better options.

Unlike other reviewers I like Denny's. I don't go here often, but when I do the service and food are always good quality. I'm not a big fan of pancakes, but I enjoy theirs. They have many different toppings to choose from for their pancakes to give them a little extra flavor. The picture below is their limited time red, white, and blue pancakes. My favorite. Has strawberries, blueberries, and a cream cheese drizzle to top it off. Across the table are the cinnamon roll pancakes which are also quite tasty.

It was incredibly busy when I was there. A lot of restauyin the area where closed due to the snow storm. Despite that, we didn't wait long to be seated. Our server was awesome. I'm attributing burnt hashbrowns and over cooked eggs to a very busy kitchen.

Came here in the early afternoon, it was fairly packed and almost hard to find parking but I did get seated right away and it only took about 15 minutes to receive my food. The table I was seated at wasn't properly clean, which is a health hazard issue. All of my food did come out fresh and tasty, the pancakes were evenly cooked and tasted great with syrup, but alone it was a bit dry, 9/10. They do turkey bacon here instead of the pork bacon which is usual to see, but I was very happy about that since I do have a slight pork allergy, the bacon tasted great and was perfectly cooked evenly, it wasn't greasy either, 11/11. The sunny side up eggs was evenly cooked as well, was perfect alone, 10/10, and the hash browns did taste great but it was a bit too greasy, 7/10. Overall I would recommend coming here, I did hear bad things but don't see why people think those things are true, I'll have to plan a trip for lunch sometime.

Really wanted some comfort food, tried a couple of familiar places but didn't have what the soul wanted. So this was the final place in town. They had it and it was not what was expected. The mashed potatoes were lumpy, the gravy thin and salty while the country fried steak was just ok. Really disappointed.

I was actually surprised at how good the food was. I got a burger that I couldn't finish, and it was an even better leftover the next day! The building though, it really needs a lot of attention. If you can handle the dirty feeling being in the building gave me check it out. If not maybe order some takeout.

I wish I could share pictures because I took pictures of it. I asked for over medium well eggs and it had like 50 minute lease on it. You couldn't even cut it with a knife I asked for. Well done hash browns. They were all white. I got the two crepes with strawberries and vanilla cream and the crepes were so tough. The knife would not even cut through it. I had to gnaw on the crate. Was not pleased. I have to say everything had a great flavor but was not cooked properly. The waitress was very sweet, very nice but she didn't even offer refills on drinks and at 369 I think we was over refill

This was my first time at this location. I ate the Grand SlamWich + French fries. My order tasted fine. My G/F"s order unfortunately I can not say the same! She ordered the bourbon bacon burger ( I think I said that correctly?) Anyway hers was inedible to say the least! Her bottom bun was soaked with grease so bad that it just turned to mush when she tried to pick it up to eat. The meat was room temp at best & looked like it had been cooked to that temp as well. She replaced her French fries with mozzarella sticks when she ordered her food. She took a bite of one of them a day couldn't even swallow it. I ask her what was wrong with it, and she just replied with it just doesn't taste right and had to spit it out! So based on my first time experience here anyone reading this you got a 50/50 shot it seems like at a hit or miss!

Wish I would’ve read the reviews before coming here, came in after moving our kid into his dorm, it was 11am only 2 tables so we figured, great it’ll be quick since we tried Cortland diner but they were packed, anyway an hour later and we are still here waiting for just breakfast nothing fancy. Even now it has emptied out and still no food, please don’t come here

Not too thrilled.. Got the special “Super Slam” for breakfast… What happened to the sausage and bacon? Less than half the size it should be. Sausage tasted bad and dry, bacon was maybe half a piece instead of a full length. Appears they have downsized some menu items. Pancakes and eggs were fine tho.

I would not recommend this place. We order an Appetizer and Two dinner. The bill came go 66 $ the food wasn't worth 66$. The apps and meals all came out at once. When we asked for a refill of soda The waitress acted annoyed that we wanted a refill. The chicken dinner was soaked in an sweet bbq sauce.

With 5 cooks we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. You could hear the arguments between the cooks and waitresses. Very unprofessional. Another person waited 1 1/2 hours for chicken tenders. We will not be going there again.

Most of the time servers are nice and food is made correctly. I'm a picky eater so with most my food being complicated it's nice when it's done right. Update:last time I went my food was burn and they suggested I try to eat it anyways. Boneless chicken wings are not saposta be rock hard. And when I tryed to eat it and couldn't I asked for 2 eggs she bright back a huge pate full of eggs and charged me still for the chicken I couldn't eat. Very disappointed. Won't be going back ever

After waiting over on hour, we asked how much longer, were informed that there were 5 more tables to serve before us. We were unable to wait any longer and asked for the bill. Staff were nice, did not charge for drinks. The floor were sticky the ,wash room door next to main entrance did not close. It Without doubt, the worst Denny’s if ever been in. Please note, the staff were nice, not their fault.

Food is good but service was terrible, waiting 20 minutes for desert after our waitress disappears for 15 minutes at a time and seems to be in no rush to assist their customers. Having to wait 5+ minutes just for a water and then 20 minutes just to get the bill, a Togo box and a dessert Togo is just ridiculous. The waitress (Patricia) seemed to have 0 desire in making our experience enjoyable, when you only have 1 table. As someone in the service industry, I would never deem this kind of service acceptable, and if I were to do this to a table I wouldn’t expect a tip in the slightest. The kitchen did a good job but the service was the worst me and my family have ever received. Would not recommend her as a server. Tipped out of respect the industry and I understand as a server that we make a living off tips, but not deserved.

Terrible from before we ever walked in the door. The hostess, while coughing her germs all over the front door with my wife and I carrying our daughter walking in just behind her, let the door slam right in our faces. From there, it went downhill. Not a single employee in the building smiled and the hostess seemed annoyed we were even there. While seating us, she made a remark assuming my daughter wouldn't want crayons. No big deal, we asked for the crayons and got them. We waited over half an hour to place our drink order at which time we were given 2 out of 3 sets of silverware we should have been given. Our drinks finally came, and we placed our order with a waitress unconcerned with pleasantries. We waited an additional 20 minutes before the waitress came back out to tell us they didn't have what my wife had ordered. Ok, she picked a new menu item. Finally we were brought our meals and I asked for silverware for my daughter. During the meal, employees constantly yelling across the dining area at a distracting level. Halfway through the meal they finally brought us silverware for my daughter but I had already shared mine with her because she was very hungry at that point. The food was sub-par to say the least. Even my 3 year old hated the food and she is not a picky eater. We were then overcharged for the meal and we had to send them back after already paying to adjust the invoice. After 15 minutes of confusion and miscommunication between staff, a manager finally refunded us, but even she was not polite. She talked down to us as if it was our mistake, and could not locate our receipt for some time. We could not get out of there quick enough. The worst eating out experience we have ever had hands down. It's amazing it's still open with the rudest, most incompetent, and unfriendly staff in the food service industry. Will not be returning.

Hands down the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Before we walked into the restaurant it was already unpleasant. The hostas was outside the front door smoking a cigarette and continuously coughing with out covering her mouth. She seemed annoyed we were there and that she had to take us in to be seated. After 20 minutes without any waitress the hostas finally noticed and went to get a waitress. She had a poor attitude and it took her another 15 mins to come back from placing our order to tell me what I wanted was unavailable. Another half hour went by before we were given our food and it was awful. My eggs were undercooked the bacon was thin and tasteless, my toast tasted like oil in a pan and my pancakes came out okay at best. My daughter took one bite of her sausage and spit it out. My husbands hash browns were soggy. No one asked how the meal was, or if we needed a refill. No one apologized about the troubles. Then to top the experience off I went to pay and was charged 60 bucks for 2 adults n a toddler to get the worst breakfast of all time. There was a discrepancy in the pricing because they charged me for the original item I ordered that they didn't have , not what I ended up with...so we brought that to their attention and it was nothing but a hassle to get it straightened around. After agreeing to refund us one of the meals, my husband asked for a final copy of the receipt and the manager was extremely rude stating that she already refunded us for the meal... Obviously we were aware of that since she handed me the cash only a few seconds prior... After having to explain ourselves n jump through more hoops she finally gave us the receipt. In addition to allll of that I went to use the ladies room and it was absolutely foul. I will never come back here and I highly recommend that you save your time and money and do the same.

My parents and I ordered breakfast when the restaurant was less than a quarter full. It took 20+ minutes to get our food, and it arrived cold. It took another 20+ minutes to get the cold food off our bill, and there was no discount for the terrible experience.

My server was great yesterday. But meal was not good, someone with me didn't even eat what they ordered cause it was so burnt. My meal wasn't even close to cooked what I wanted. I also heard about the state of the kitchen before hand and now I'm out of work for the day with food posioning. Who ever the kitchen staff is. Get it together. Clean your kitchen, get orders done, change your gloves and wash your hands. Don't give me excuses. I've been working in kitchens essentially my whole life. Just get better.

I can't really give a review on this place. Because after 10 minutes just to take our orders and then to fine after an hour we still hadn't received our food and seeing the people who came in after is get theirs we left. This isn't the fist time but we thought after a couple of years maybe thing had changed but sadly it hasn't. So all I can say is the coffee is strong and the oj good. The hostess made sure to remind everyone to leave a tip. So distasteful having worked as a waitress my self. A tip is for a good job not just because you served food. Never eating at the cortland Dennys ever again!!!!

Moons over my Hammy were great. The Seasoned Fries tasted like the oil had not been changed in a while in the fryer. First I thought the fries were old and cold but when the server brought out the new fries. They tasted still like the oil had not been changed. The Server was excellent and the service was great. Consider changing the oil in your fryers more often.

Begining of April 2025 We went there to have a family dinner of 4. I got the bacon ranch chicken. The chicken was burnt and was only on half the sandwich and my fries were burnt as well. My friend got the fish. They burnt them he had to peel off the top to barely eat them, they gave him very little tarter sauce when he asked for more they gave him a little spoonful, his grandma got the chicken fried steak. They forgot the gravy on it and it was the smallest steak ever. My 7 year old got chocolate chip pancakes and they literally had all the chocolate in the center of the pancakes. Worst meal we have ever had.

Ridiculously slow service (45m to even get a coffee) and when food eventually came out it was cold. Dunno why we even waited, really.

Need to just stick with breakfast i said in the past. Well, that has changed. need to skip this place entirely. Served pancakes to my daughter with a bread clip in it. Took her meal off but shouldn't have charged the table. Best yet, the bread clip was dated early September expiration.

I usually enjoy Denny’s, but this Cortland location does not meet the same standards I’ve experienced elsewhere. The restrooms in both the men’s and women’s areas were not clean at all, which makes me wonder if the same lack of care extends to the kitchen. There were dead flies around the booth where we ate, and the overall condition of the restaurant—including the walls, floors, and general upkeep—looked poorly maintained. This location really needs to improve its sanitation, maintenance, and staff training to meet the quality and cleanliness customers expect from Denny’s.

This Denny’s was the worst I’ve ever been to! The restrooms were disgusting, and the restaurant itself looked unclean. The service was okay, but I ordered a steak medium-well and received a well-done one.

Took the whole family out to dinner. The waitress would push the tables together to seat 12 people. Then we had to sit next to high chairs which I seen were absolutely disgusting. I think every kid who sat in one left their meal and they weren’t cleaned. The waitress never ask to refill our drinks and I was served burnt pancakes. I sent them back and did get new ones but it took forever to get them. Also the waitress was leaning on the table and all up in my son in laws personal space. Do better!!!!

We are out of town, traveling from Route 81. We were looking for a Dennys and this one Exit 52 which was Cortlandville NY. My husband and I sat ourselves. We sat there for almost 15 minutes, no one approached us with a menu or even asked us what we would like to drink. While sitting there waiting we noticed that the tables were filled with dirty dishes and cups. The tables hadn’t been cleaned off. We started to get up to leave and this waitress came out of the kitchen area noticed us and told us you can leave if you want, I’m the only one here so give me a break. That is not our problem, you don’t talk to customers like that. Poor management, the restaurant was so dirty including the bathroom. I love Denny's, and the food is usually good if they can bother to remember to give it to you. This is the 2nd time they've forgotten the pancakes with my meal, how do they manage to forget literally the biggest part of the meal? Terrible, don't come here.

In my years of profession, the kid or the waiter that took our order needs to be better trained. Did not bring out the food altogether. He brought out one order, waited 5 minutes then brought the other order. The food was not warm. It was cold and it's a sad thing to say the manager was decent. But he had no backbone. But he was decent. We will not be stopping back at this restaurant. Never.

The food was absolutely terrible, raw greasy potatoes slop on a plate, burnt toast and over cooked eggs. The bill was 52 for two grand slams and 2 orange juices so overpriced

NO SERVICE until we’re at the exit door leaving! Hostess did not even try to help the server with customers. POOR experience all together. Wanted to give them a chance and ended up leaving! Make your own decision just sharing our experiences this morning.

Sadly I must report that this was a rather poor culinary experience. Usually Denny’s I’ve never had an issue with their good but this is the second time I’m striking out now. Ordered scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, & Turkey with Swiss melt on toast, seasoned fries. The bacon was sent as one strip sliced right down the middle to make it appear like two pieces, the scrambled eggs resembled a runny omelet, the sandwich with Turkey left much to be desired. The pancakes were fine. Ordered diet cokes and thankfully that was fine. The greeter was completely without a smile and was silent when I repeatedly asked for a 1/2 booth, she finally said they are taken but tried to sell me a booth without previously recognizing my first request. The waitress too was silent when I asked for a side of guacamole with my Sammy, however when the food came and there was no guacamole I asked her and was then told they do not have guacamole even tho their menu had other meals with avocado. I wasn’t even offered avocado in lew. I’m usually hard preto fo a negative teekeem, however I must be honest… 🙏🏼
