A Casa di Ale Crescentino Reviews
Sunday lunch with friends. Nice atmosphere, beautifully set tables, very enjoyable. Delicious appetizers, excellent panissa (I'd say exceptional) and agnolotti, good for the mixed fried fish, just a little cold... excellent wine, I enjoyed finding Lauretana water on the table 🙂 I'll be back.
My husband and I had dinner last night, and we had a great time. The atmosphere was very nice and quiet, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, with a special mention for Palissandro, which was very, very good. The prices were very fair.
SPECTACULAR! If I could, I'd give it 6 stars. Traditional Vercelli cuisine, home-style. The ambiance is just as charming, with a shabby chic decor. The owner, Alessandro, is fortunate; he works with his mother Cristina (a fantastic cook) and his aunt Maria (waiting tables), who make you feel right at home. The food is amazing, everything is excellent and plentiful. I've never tried anything like it. All at more than competitive prices. You couldn't ask for better. I'll definitely be back. Cured meats, tongue, lard; and then panissa vercellese (rice with beans and lard). I've never tried anything like it. Top top top
Very good option to eat here, they are very friendly and the food is very good, adapting to your needs, good value for money. I am vegan and I was able to eat there, thank you very much! Not everyone does.
Very friendly, good spot!
Today we were lucky enough to discover this trattoria, serving typical Piedmontese dishes. I highly recommend it. Cold cuts, panissa, fried food, and delicious ravioli. Very friendly staff, we'll be back.
The menu is traditional Piedmontese and very good. A special mention goes to the panissa! The welcome was very friendly, and the doggy bag service was much appreciated, as the portions are generous.
Superb homely trattoria. Super friendly, spoke perfect english. Professional, clean, and do the food that they do best. Small menu at lunchtime and superb. The place was full of locals and on a Wednesday lunchtime. My husband asked for their speciality 'panissa', and he got a portion as a group of locals had prebooked the dish! I had the legume soup, so tasty. If we had more room in our stomachs, there was grilled pork chops and also cottechino with fagioli to choose from for the secondi. We ended with a tiramisu, yum, and a dessert speciality of theirs which is pastry with chocolate, pear and amaretti. What a place! On a rainy Spring day they were a ray of sunshine.
Trattoria #1. The best.
Excellent value for money, would do again, good experience, friendly staff
It's a welcoming, well-kept place with very friendly staff. We tried it for lunch on Thursday, when the daily menu features boiled meat and panissa vercellese. This typical dish is prepared with care, a rare treat these days (unfortunately), and is served in a distinctive copper pan. The wine list is short, but still has some good labels. The place is accessible to people with reduced mobility, as is the bathroom, where (when we were there) there was no paper towel and the pedal bin was broken. We'll definitely return to try the other traditional dishes :-)
Had a set lunch on Sunday. The place is modest, as befits a trattoria. Three appetizers, good; panissa was excellent; the mixed fried fish was decidedly disappointing. For dessert, a small bowl of fruit salad. Excluding wine, it was about €40. I think the quality/price ratio is decidedly unbalanced. A shame.

A group of six of us wanted to come in for coffee and an aperitif, and most importantly, to book a lunch reservation for the next few days, but we were rudely and arrogantly stopped at the door by the owner because we had a small dog with us! In 2025, barring small animals from entering is certainly a sign of lack of friendliness and shortsightedness toward customers! We went to another restaurant in the area and happily booked for the next weekend, dog included... See you never again!
