If you love a good Dive Bar then this is one to checkout! I've been a few times now and every time has been a great time with a diverse crowd! The staff is great, other patrons are friendly, drinks are a good pour, and the live music has been amazing. Definitely recommend if you're in the Culver City area or looking for a laidback good night out!

For what it is, it's magic. In a Los Angeles full of places that are so hip I feel like I'm being granted a favor when someone completes my drink order, this place is a throw back to the good 'ol days. A good, solid dive-bar with no attitudes or pretense. Prices are reasonable. I hope this place never goes away.

Stumbled into a piece of LA history and culture in Culver City at a place called The Cinema. The live band was amazing. There is No Cover. The place has a nice patio out back. Lots of friendly beautiful people.

Nice spot for a local pub, welcoming regulars and unique vibe. Loved the fishes out back.

Still the best neighborhood bar around. They've cut back on music but you will still be treated to bands that command big stages playing in a great small space. Monday's include a jazz band that will blow your mind. Is it great for a date? How cool is your date? If they can't hang at the cinema on a Monday night, old or young, I'm not interested. It's not a place to see or be seen, but it's the best place to just be.

This is such a nice place. The bands are always play good music. The bartenders are always friendly. The male bartender with the beard was schooling everyone on how to drink bourbon and other liquors; he was quite a character. very friendly and east going type of guy. It's my go to for a nice quick drink and chat with locals. This bar isn't for the quiet ones that like to sit and have a nice chat. There is a back portion of the bar which I never been to. It didn't quite catch my interest because the music is inside not outside. So my opinion on the back isn't as good as the front. The restroom is quite small for the men. The toilet is literally a foot away from the urinal. But only one dude can fit inside at a time. So privacy isn't an issue. Soap smells nice.

What can I say about this bar? If you have a chance to visit? You won't be disappointed. Rod and Co have keep this institution alive and thriving. Great live music? Check. Fun jukebox that has everything from standards to punk? Check. Friendly bar staff who can pour you anything from Absenthe to a Zombie? Check. All in all, The Cinema Bar a World Class local bar.

Great vibe, great folks, great open mic. One thing I didn’t like was the smell of cigarettes. Even though they were outside, the smoke lingered into the room, and it felt like a smaller Vegas, casino floor feeling. Other than that, I’ll return to do open mic again. The folks were very welcoming!

It is what it is. And this place IS !! I ain't been to a bar Ina long time...my best decision involving alcohol that I've made Ina while. Michelle tended bar..well. In addition she happened to be beautiful. This is your late 70's..80's type "dive bar". Music was loud and good. Prices were great. This place found me. Moved into new place last month and this wonderful throwback bar is 1 block away!! Can't wait to return.👍👍👍3 thumbs up.

A Diamond in the Rough... How wonderful to walk in to a bar that isn't full of plastic plants and fancy lighting, as so many "trendy" places are. The instant you walk in, you're made to feel at home. The staff and customers are genuinely friendly. The beer is good and, if you're in to tropical fish, the tanks are very well maintained. If I were a local, this would be my pub.

It was awesome; Two fun live bands and very eclectic crowd. A rare nonpretentious island in Los Angeles.

I walked past the bar and couldn’t believe my eyes. Corey Mason the Aussie was sitting right there, this bar has been truly blessed.

The Cinema Bar is everything you want in a local spot — laid-back vibes, strong drinks, live music that actually slaps, and a crowd that feels like instant friends. It’s got that old-school charm you can’t fake. Whether you’re catching a band, hanging on the patio, or just sipping a whiskey solo, this place always hits the right note. No pretension, just good times. West LA gem for sure.

What a rad place! Cozy little dive bar with a stage for the jams! They also have a sick juke box. Drinks were bomb with a plentiful selection! I will say, the bartender Rod, was quite the D-Bag. I was hired to take photos of a band, and he HATED every second of it. And even told me to my face that I was "sticking the camera in people's faces and being annoying". I can understand to some extent, but no one was annoyed but him. And that wasn't the only remark he made that evening. He also kept complaining about the band and the music being too loud, bass being too high - etc. He is single handedly the reason I won't be back. It's sad too, because it's such a cool place! Perhaps it was just my experience. I'm sure it's a wonderful time outside of what I experienced!

This is a great place to see bands, usually for free, but please, please, tip them and the bartenders. The back patio is also awesome to hang out with friends and watch the fish in the tanks. I recommend. They do not serve food here.

I've been here a few times to see bands I know that play here, the sound is pretty decent and they have some decent bands roll through... It's an old dive bar that has music.. what would you expect? Drinks are ok, but certainly nothing special, ordered a margarita and forgot to mention we wanted a call tequila so it was definitely rock gut... The bar has a certain smell that tells you the place has been around for years and years..
