Had such a great experience at The Empanada Cookhouse in Dallas that I actually went back the next morning before heading home to Louisiana just to grab a 6-pack for the road. That alone should tell you how good they are. The empanadas are fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked with a great crispy crust and delicious fillings. What really stood out though was the owner — super friendly and welcoming. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does and takes pride in the food he’s serving. That kind of passion really shows in the quality. If you're anywhere near Dallas, do yourself a favor and stop by. Amazing food, great people, and definitely a spot I’ll return to whenever I’m back in town.

Very nice place. I ordered the empanada of pabellón Venezolano, which I was pleasantly surprised to be a fried empanada. The cilantro ranch was great to accompanied this meal food of flavor. I also ordered a Mango drink, which was organic and delicious. And to complete, a Nutella empanada full of flavor. Highly recommended, they’re very kind and the food was fantastic

This is a quick walk from the Perot or Dallas Aquarium. We had a quick snack - an Empanada box split 4 ways. We got to try (3) flavors. All were fantastic. The music selection playing was so good. It was also well balanced and not too loud for conversation. Thank you for the yummy food and enjoyable atmosphere!

You can order quickly from a touch screen and choose to eat in the restaurant or take your food to go. There are many flavors and salsa options. The tamarind pork is delicious, and the al pastor is tasty. The spinach is a bit dry, but everything was served hot and fast.

I absolutely loved the options here, can be a bit pricey. However, it’s worth it!! A perfect spot to Pickup on the go or dine in! Also military friendly !

First of all, let me say I love this place and I am a frequent customer. The owner is the nicest person I’ve spoken to inside the establishment, but the employee's are a different story. The woman who usually bags up my food was visibly high and was unable to understand what I was asking her. Her eyes are BLOODshot red and she acts like she’s in a complete daze. I came in after ordering because I realized I could use my points to get some churros. She proceeds to tell me my order can’t be fulfilled because their “iPad isn’t working”. Which made no sense to me because I had just ordered through their app and it worked perfectly fine like always. I try to explain to her that I usually order through the app and I just wanted to make sure I could use my points then and there. There is no language barrier, she was just too high to even comprehend what I was saying. As a smoker, I know when I see it. Then after going back and forth she tells me that she can in fact make my churros and I’ll just have to use my points “another time.” I asked her whether or not my order went through on the app with my points and she couldn’t answer that either. Mind you I’m extremely polite and I would never disrespect someone that is making/serving my food. But after telling me (with a NASTY attitude) that she will make my churros , she then turns to laugh at me with her coworker in the back. And then hands me my food with the smuggest look on her face even though I still thanked her. This isn’t the first time she’s come off rude either but I’ve not one to take things like that personal. But this time, that was absolutely ridiculous and anyone with working eyes can see she’s completely out of it. Also, she gives me the bare minimum amount of rice every single time which I feel is petty and weird. I’m leaving this review to make the owner aware of what’s going on, but other than that the food is great and service is always quick.

This is a small restaurant with modern design that we rate 4.5 out of 5. The empanadas were on point and the salsa verde pairing was perfect. We ordered 3 empanadas beef chimichuri, pork bbq and all were tasty. The staff were nice and professional. The design is modern. This was a good experience for us.

Ya’ll this was actually pretty good, as a Mexican I wasn’t sure if I’d like it, but the empanadas are actually fully filled with the protein you choose. My favorite was the chicken buffalo✅ the beef/potato empanada was okay I don’t really care for ground beef The Tamarind/Pork was the one I was a bit hesitant about butttt in my opinion it tasted like bbq pulled pork, so it was good The rice was good and fresh What’s crazy is that I didn’t eat these in 1 sitting, but took me about 3 days to eat these and the bread…stayed fresh, it was still soft and eatable 😭🙏 I was so glad and impressed, I’ll be ordering again

Such a yummy stop! It was easy to order and we were quickly served. They had two gluten free options and both were excellent! We go the hibiscus lemonade and it was sweet but quite yummy. If you’re in a hurry, they can get you in quickly! We had the chips and guac which were both tasty and we’d get again. The plantains were sweet and filling!

Every variation of empanada that we ordered was delicious as was the rice but I have to say that the guacamole was AMAZING! My 10yo who has always hated guacamole actually ate my whole order. This is the best guacamole I’ve had in TX in almost three years of living here. The establishment is clean/neat, the service is fast and welcoming. I highly recommend!

Food was delicious! The lady was so sweet. My husband and I were just going to share a drink but she brought out an extra water with our food unexpectedly. It was a great surprise. The Buffalo chicken empanada was my favorite though it does have a small kick to it. I wish we would have been able to eat more! The lemonade was very fresh and not sweet. It was refreshing.

Una delicia!! 👏🏼 Biting into this empanada brought me a little closer to home! The dough is just PERFECT ❤️ We were served by the owner himself and he was awesome! Highly recommend the taqueños, the guacamole and the chicken melt empanada 🔥

First, their empanadas are excellent and the cilantro rice is delicious as well. They have a wide variety of flavors (my favorite is the chicken fajita) but I have tried other flavors and they’re all great. Second, their empanadas are baked, not fried, and they’re big and filling. Finally, the owner and staff are friendly and accommodating. I usually order for pickup because my office is close but they deliver as well. If you’re in the mood for a quick, tasty lunch in downtown Dallas, then The Empanada Cookhouse is the place to go.

The food was rated 10/10 by my kids. They absolutely loved it. It is a small, typical, strip-center small dining room. It is fine but nothing special. But all savory and sweet empanadas were delicious, as well as the sides and drinks. We tried mango and horchata drink. There are NO keto options here, by the way. Just be aware if you are trying to eat low-carb. You shouldn't come here.

My empanadas were flaky and delicious. The salsa verde sauce was quite tasty. The tator tots were also very good.

Quick and efficient ordering from a touch screen. You can pick up and eat in house or take it to go. Lots of flavors and salsa options. The tamarind pork is delicious and the al pastor is yummy. The spinach is a bit dry, but no bad. Everything came out fast and very hot.

Wow! These must be the best, freshest tasting, meatiest empanadas I've had, far exceeding the quality made by those innumerable shops in the Miami area. All pork flavors ( tamarind, BBQ, & al pastor) were great, even comes with spicy guacamole. Looking forward to trying other flavors.

Let me say the empanadas were phenomenal. Had the chicken fajitas and the beef with Chimichurri sauce. The cilantro rice also good. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because I ordered plantain and it was burnt to the put I couldn’t eat it!! Other than that loved the food. I randomly seen this place today and decided to try it for the first time

The empanadas were good; fresh, crispy, and tasty. I ordered the spicy ones, and they had a nice kick, but next time I’d go for even more spice. Overall, definitely worth ordering again!

I ordered the 3 Empanada Combo with tater tots. I would recommend the Buffalo Jalapeño Chicken, Pork Al Pastor as my favourite. The pork comes with a nice pineapple filling not too spicy and the citrus from the pineapple compliments the filling. Buffalo Jalapeño chicken was not spicy at all but flavourful. Tater tots were crispy and fresh. The service was amazing and everyone was really nice.
