Celia's Daly City Reviews
My wife has been going here for 20 years. Awesome staff and always amazing food. Pink Cadillac margarita if you want to have a great day. We hosted our baby shower here and highly recommend it for and large group occasions
A great place to eat with friends and family. Heartyty Mexican food. Good service. Seating in bar or in restaurant. Had a good time getting caught up with old friends. Good location. Will be back soon.
I've been to a few of the Celia's locations and this one is my favorite. The food is solid, the service is great, and the atmosphere is fun. On certain nights, they even have a live mariachi band! If you enjoy watching sports, you can sit in the bar area and there are plenty of TVs. I don't think there was a bad view from anywhere you sat in that area. All in all, a great local spot.
We come here all the time - always a great experience. Chips and salsa show up right after you sit down. I had a virgin pina colada because I'm not drinking right now and it was delicious! The virgin margaritas are tasty as well (wife got one). Also got the Perfecto special which is a huge amount of food - I almost never have leftovers but did this time!
Great spot for lunch if you like Mexican food. Their chips and salsa are freshly made, and you can taste it with every bite. We ordered the enchiladas and tacos. Get the enchiladas with carne asada instead of chicken or ground beef. Our server was very attentive to our table despite the restaurant being packed due to several large parties being seated nearby. It was also nice that they have several large screen tvs, so you can watch either football on Sundays or any other sporting events that might be going on at that time. There's plenty of parking all around the restaurant, so that won't be an issue.
Everything we had here was fabulous, starting with the perfect tortilla chips (thin, crispy, and served warm) paired with salsa. My crab enchilada was covered in delicious sauce and cheese, crammed full of real crab, and the sopito was crispy, topped with flavorful, juicy carnitas and guacamole. My SO loved the steak special, and the Spanish rice it came with was notably fantastic, unlike a lot of places where the rice is an afterthought. We got churros with ice cream for dessert, and it was a delightful end to the meal. Service was excellent (masks and gloves worn with plentiful hand sanitizer) and the restaurant is so huge, with outdoor seating available, that it works well for social distancing. Highly recommend it!
Excellent margaritas and good hot wings. I just wish everything wasn't so salty. One time I went on a Sunday night and they were out of rice.
Good service and atmosphere of the restaurant, but the portions of the food and its prices did feel quite disappointing to me and my family when we ate there for my uncle's belated birthday yesterday, unfortunately.
The location of this resto might be off for those who are not local but its been there for a while. The inside of the restaurant is like Encanto the Disney come to life. A very Mexican vibe. The food is ok and the unlimited chips and salsa is always a good thing. The frozen Margarita though is like a smoothie that made me really full. Price is reasonable and the resto has been a staple so you can't go wrong.
At first glance from the outside, it may not seem like Celia's is a happening place, kinda tucked away in the corner of the lot. But once you step inside, you are greeted by vibrant colors and decor that makes it seem like you were transported to a different world. The menu focuses on traditional Mexican cuisine, although they do offer some "North of the Border" choices like steak and burgers if you want to go that route. I went with the Super Special, which comes with a taco, chile relleno, enchilada, burrito, and rice and beans. I was genuinely surprised by how big the portions were and definitely had to take some leftovers home. I left very full and very satisfied. Service was great as well. Muchas gracias, Celia's!
Good for big groups. All the tables are spaced well. They have a good selection of tequila and a knowledgeable staff that will help you make the right choice. It’s a great place if you’re getting drinks. They have margarita pictures. The food was OK. They do this thing with some of their spicy foods where there is some sweet component which I personally dislike. The free chips and salsa were great.
The colors on the interior are bright and fun and the décor is really unique featuring Spanish-style decorations, hand-painted murals, and vaulted, cathedral-style ceilings. The drinks are really tasty and unique and the food is really good. Not necessarily authentic, but really tasty. They speak both Spanish and English, but the menu is only in English (I wish it was in both languages...) The only negative thing I can say is that sometimes you wait a long time for your waiter or waitress to come to your table when you want to order or pay. I would definitely recommend this place. It's empty during the day and relatively full at night, but there is never a wait. A lot of people come here to celebrate birthdays, and the employees sing to you.
I came here for a baby shower. You arrive and are thinking where is my GPS taking me. You park and enter the restaurant. It is multi levels with large space for groups. It was pretty popular. The service was slow and we were watching each other each because food came out at random times. Also get your drink and forget refills. The cheese use for cheese enchiladas seemed like American. Aka not the biggest fan. It wasn't horrible just not the best Mexican ever.
Don't know of any Mexican restaurant that does not give a small complimentary salsa. Daly City does not, the other ones do. For a $30 plate, they could have thrown it in...yet if you sit down you get all you can eat salsa. Kind of weird. Food is great, but policy isn't.
The new manager (Fernando), the bald guy that walks around like he owns the place is destroying the atmosphere and feel of Celia’s. This used to be my favorite place to go. Split some apps and margs with the girls!! The last time I was there I spent like $20 on the juke box, he turned it off bc we were having a good time. We weren’t being loud or annoying or anything like that. Before this guy popped up we used to listen to fun beats and dance in the bar area. I do want to shine a light on the bartender/wait staff. Cesar, Erica and Raul are amazing staff. So nice and very professional. They really make the space feel welcoming and make some of the best drinks!
