Jack's Tavern Denton Reviews
Great place to host events! We rented Jack’s for a private event and it was great! Spacious, played music, and very accommodating.
Sometimes service is inconsistent here but I have to say JESSICA was amazing while we stopped in last night. I made sure to ask her name so I could leave a review and hope others get to meet her too. I think Jacks is best for live music and pool tables, but I recommend trying the BLUE DUCK :)

I have only been to Jack's Tavern twice, but will be coming back often. They host a dart tournament every Sunday at 5 which is why we were there. They have a great dart area if you like throwing darts and the drinks are super inexpensive. The bar is very clean. I would definitely come hang out here on a non tournament night. They have pool tables and plenty of room for larger crowds. They do not currently serve food, but check with them to see if they have started again before you head out. Or you can hit up the Fat Shack that is down the sidewalk and bring the food into the bar. Oh and Jake's has the BEST Dr. Pepper I have ever had in a bar or restaurant.
The people there are amazing. It’s the most family and local patronized sports oriented bar in Denton. This is not even cover the special events and the bands that are there regularly.
Brisket was delicious and smoky. Diverse menu of drinks
My nickname is Jack so I thought it was appropriate to visit Jack’s Tavern for a quick drink while dealing with a toothache. Even though I wasn’t there long, I had a good experience. The place was clean, had a nice atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Even though it was late and almost closing time, they still took the time to chat and even recommended another spot nearby for my wife and me to check out. It’s always nice to come across bartenders who are actually pleasant, which isn’t always a given. I appreciate the hospitality and would definitely stop by again.
My wife and I went to Jacks to watch the Texas Vanderbilt game a couple of weeks ago. We love going to local bars and this one did not disappoint! We met the owners (Randy & Chris) and were treated as if we were family. Bailey (bartender) was extremely nice and provided excellent customer service. Free billiards from 4-7, live band on Saturdays, excellent happy hour and friendly vibes will definitely be bringing us back! Thank you all for an awesome time!
I go here often and the food is always great! The bar manager (or at least I think she’s the manager) Christy is awesome! They got a new bartender Bailea she made sure to tell me how to spell her name… She is a stunner and makes the best Mexican Candy shots. Not a modern country fan but they always have great 90s country playing so I recommend this place 10/10
Christi is great and the food is amazing! Love playing pool here!
Chill times and good times. Love karaoke on Mondays! This is a fun place to hangout at. The pizza is awesome!
First time visiting. Thursday night. Not busy, not slow. I'm Hungry. Went with the nachos. Amazing. Freshest Pico Di Gio I have ever had in my life.
I’m an out of towner that was looking for dinner with a good draft dos XX and some live music. I found all 3 at jacks! Meatball sandwich was amazing. Beer was cold. All the staff were super nice!
Shane is the best in the kitchen always hooks it up with the best food. Kristie is the best behind the bar i love going to this place many things to do pool, poker and games unlimited thing to do.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jack’s Tavern is home base for my dart team in Denton, and it’s a great place for league nights or just hanging out. They’ve got free darts, free pool tables, cornhole, video games, and plenty of other ways to stay entertained. The drinks might be a little pricier, but the food is good, and they mix things up with karaoke nights and live bands that make the atmosphere even better. What I like most is that Jack’s feels like more than just a bar—it’s a spot where teams, friends, and families can all feel welcome. If you’re in college and want to bring your parents out for a night, this is definitely one of the better choices compared to other bars in town. All around, it’s a fun, friendly place with something for everyone.

Cool little spot, a little pricey but that's to be expected in a college town.

I’ve had some negative experiences at Jacks but since Shane joined the staff it has been a big change. He brings so much positivity and always makes sure customers are happy and taken care of. LOVE THAT MAN

The crowd can be uneven, and it is not the best place, but it's definitely a decent place to go hang out with friends.

Nice. Place that is clean. Has the neighborhood bar feel. Lots of pool tables and dartboards. Not a large beer and alcohol selection but they have the bigger sellers. No wine. They have fresh cooked food on site that is very good. Typical bar foods. You do pay for food and alcohol separately. The bar charges 3% or more free for using paying in credit card. This is not posted and is why I will not go there. Seems wrong to add charges to someone like that without posting it clearly. Because it's in the computer my guess is that same charge is added to cash too. Especially how the line items are broken out.
Terrible service tonight! Some people just don’t need to be bartenders…
My friends and I came here after work to blow off some steam and play pool. One of my coworkers came in a little later than the rest of us and was denied service because of a “fake ID”. Weird because I celebrated her 21st birthday with her three years ago. The bartender seems to be young and uneducated but that’s no excuse for the uncomfortable and unwelcoming vibes she was bringing tonight.
Y'all need to educate your bartenders...specifically the brunette girl working tonight. I have an older Texas ID that's right side up because I'm 24 and haven't gotten around to changing it yet/are not required to. She briefly looks at it, lets a little chuckle out, makes a weird scrunched face and says "yeahhh this is fake". Never been here probably won't come back either because that was weirddddd. Maybe let her know that checking an ID requires more than glancing and that there are telltale signs that an ID is real. For instance this version has a Texas shape punched through and is visible in the light. Be so for real right now that was so embarrassing for her and this establishment.
Chick seems to not know what a real ID looks like. Turned away a 24 year old tonight without properly checking her ID. Maybe she needed to feel powerful? Regardless, super ridiculous since the old IDs are extremely hard to fake if you know what you’re looking for. This is coming from a bartender of 7 years. Maybe it’s time to retake your TABC :(
