Very authentic Thai cuisine. The chicken satay was perfect. The panang curry is a bowl of spicy happiness with plenty of ingredients. The Tom Kha soup was a pleasant surprise. I had never had it before, but it has a spicy, creamy texture that works great. We will be back soon.

Definitely check this place out if you’re in Denton it’s a great hole in the wall Thai food place. Food was delicious and savory all the spices and flavors came together nicely. It was understaffed during the rush time when my friend and I sat down to eat, it is a small business so it’s understandable. It was a bit of a wait since there was really only one server taking care of everyone, I recommend going when they’re not too busy. Staff was very accommodating, I was given the wrong order and they immediately took it back to the kitchen to be fixed. Had the Panang Curry it was delicious, pretty big portions too! Atmosphere is really nice, they have two tvs there as well so that you can enjoy food and a show. Had a great time tonight thanks for serving us Thai Ocha definitely will be back for more! 😋 Also parking can get a little crazy when it’s busy it’s a small lot, drive safe when you turn in at rush hour.

Small little thai restaurant. Had tomkha soup (great), basil duck (just okay, not what we expected as not much duck in the dish), pad thai with crispy noodle (love it, love the crispy noodle, definitely should try). Service is good too. One of my friend’s favorite thai place near university

Every detail was perfect! They see the comment section when online ordering which make rhetorical experience so easy!

Fan-freaking- tastic! Excellent service and delicious food! The pad woon sen delivered on generous portion size and a wonderful amount of heat! The glass noodles were full of flavor and seasoning and the veggies were streamed to a crisp, snappy crunch! The thai rice pudding with custard, which my waitress recommended, was a delight! Very rich and a perfect finish to my favourite clear noodle dish. Plus the food came out super quick- but I was still impressed with the quality as it didnt seemed rushed. My waitress was super nice and made me feel welcome. Even noticing the staff quickly and competently clean and prepare other tables make Thai Ocha feel like a restaurant that has its act together! I think I found a new favorite !

The parking isn’t very good but this cozy Thai restaurant is a great spot to get some nice Thai food. I love the curry and everything taste pretty good. Also the staff is very nice and helpful. I make it a point to come here every time I visit Denton.

Fantastic, unassuming place with great Thai, an affordable menu, and fantastic friendly service. Our server Natalie was on the ball, our waters always full, a friendly pro! One of our newest favorite spots!

I was there today around 1:30 and it was incredibly busy. The staff was run off their feet and with only 2 servers also answering phones and acting as hostesses. They were visibly overwhelmed but still super kind! They deserve a raise!

I’ve been going here since I was a kid and I absolutely love the dumplings. I haven’t been in person in a while, so I don’t know if maybe there was a menu change, but my favorite ever item from this place, the corn patties, don’t show up on GubHub. Maybe my dads just dumb for using GrubHub. I dunno. I love this place and I’m gonna keep coming here till I die or until it dies.

Lived in Denton my entire life and am just now trying this place out. Not top shabby. Friendly staff. Good food. Be careful of the spices though, they'll creep up on you.

I crave their yellow chicken curry on a regular basis. So good!! We always order pickup to take home and grab some naan (throw in toaster) from Aldi to go with it. I also like that this place is BYOB (on the rare occasion we eat inside).

So delicious!!! I haven't been in almost 25 years and we recently had an amazing lunch there! I feel like a fool for waiting so long! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but this wonderful family ran restaurant is a gem!!! We're planning on enjoying it at least once a week!!! Best Thai restaurant in the north Dallas area(Denton) by far!

Small hole in the wall restaurant but don't underestimate the food. It was served hot fresh and in a timely manner! Large portions topped off with an even larger smile from wait staff! On point with refills and descriptions of food choices. First time experience left a great impression.

The herb chicken is always yummy here, at times they are a little slow to get food out but I've noticed it's because they always have so many online orders so I can forgive it

Perhaps the best kao soi in the area I’ve enjoyed every dish I’ve gotten for years. I rarely deviate from coconut milk dishes. I also like the green curry and salmon curry. Their togo protocols are great, and I really like their only order platform.

This place is very cute and the food very tasty. The restaurant is very clean and we did not wait long for our food. The service is great, the staff is very friendly. The portion size is excellent and the overall atmosphere is relaxed, it's a cute place for a date.

I've lived in Denton for years and always wanted to try this place out. They have a huge full menu. I was a bit overwhelmed and hungry. I decided to go with one of their favorites, the Herbal Chicken Fried Rice. You have a choice of 5 different heat levels. I picked the 3-hot and probably could've gone up another level. First off the food presentation was off the charts. Huge serving size too. I had to take a pic from every angle. The servers are amazing here. Very friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back.

I’m super picky with Thai food being SE Asian. I love this place so much! I recommend the pad Thai with glass noodles. It holds the flavor better than the normal rice noodles!

The food was soooo good and fresh! This was my first time having Thai food and I’ll definitely be back for sure. I ordered the sesame chicken with a side of fried rice. I’ve never had fried rice that delicious before. 10/10

Every bit as delicious as we remembered from about a year ago. Reasonable prices and good portions make for an added plus. Started with the Veggie Egg Rolls ($5.99) and Fresh Veggie Rolls ($6.99). Boys both had the Khao Soi ($11.99 × 2). Wife had the Chu Chee Curry ($11.99). I went with the Pa Nang Curry ($10.99) and a Thai Tea ($3.99). We wrapped up the meal with a Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango ($7.99). Service was pretty good too. All-in pre-tip was $77.85. After tip was $93.00. Worth a meal for sure when you're in Denton next time.

I live a mile away from Thai Ocha, but would still drive across town to eat here. Literally crave their yellow chicken curry dish on the regular. Authentic and delicious. Best thai food in town and I've been to them all. We eat inside the restaurant occasionally but since we live so close (and during quarantine) we order take out all the time. The yellow curry dish pairs nicely with a glass of our favorite sauvignon blanc and toasted naan (find it at Aldi).

LOVE this place. I get the fish cakes every time and highly recommend. I've been many times over a year or so now. I've visited with different types of people and we've tried many dishes. Everyone always loves it. One of my favorite restaurants in Denton. There are many great vegetarian dishes and they offer real heat if you like it hot. The staff are always nice and pretty fast service. Definitely worth trying because you'll probably be back.

Solid Thai food place in Denton. Food is consistent, delicious and take out is fast (15-20min). The restaurant has changed ownership since we started coming here several years ago, but we haven’t seen a change in quality. When dining in, the space is cozy and staff is friendly. Starters I recommend the fresh spring rolls with sweet peanut sauce or try the fried spring rolls with sweet sauce. We love the Pad Kee Mow, Yellow Curry or Pineapple Fried Rice for entrees. If you have room for dessert, I recommend the Black Thai sticky rice pudding (warm small purple taro potatoes topped with sweet Thai milk). Thai tea here is solid too and you can get it with boba. Be careful with spice levels here (0-5). I usually get 0 because I don’t like spicy, but my boyfriend likes spicy food and he’s comfortable with a 3 level.

This place is amazing One of the best tire restaurants that I've ever been to! I have the curry fried rice which was absolutely delicious. I've lived in Denton over 25 yrs and l have heard that Thia Ocho was really good but decided that l wanted to give it a try on my BD w/ my daughter. It was very clean and the employees were quick to wait on us. The food was delicious! I had Tom Kan coconut based soup w chicken. It was so creamy and the little mushrooms were perfect. For my entree l had orange chicken w white rice l gave the broccoli to my daughter. My daughter had a pineapple curry with salmon and it was a huge portion perfectly grilled along w/ a bowl of veggies. We'll definitely be back once a week!

Picked up an order to take out for me and two friends. Every single bit of everything was spectacularly good! Spice level was just right! So yummy we dove right in and didn't take photos!! Pad Thai, Lemongrass with chicken, and Pad Woon Sen with chicken. They always do it right!! I'm gluten-free, so I love the glass noodle options!

Best Thai food in Denton! This is our go-to on a Friday night! We usually get our favorites - pad thai, Massamun Curry and crab rangoon (all are absolutely delicious, btw) - but we've also tried their Thai Dumplings, Pad See Eew and Chicken Satay and it's all so so good! We typically get to go orders but the atmosphere inside the restaurant itself is always so cozy, and everyone who works there is so nice and welcoming. Highly recommend - such a hidden gem!! Thank you for always making our Friday nights so wonderful!

Delish. The spicy level 5 is deadly. Be ware 🤣. I usually go for level 2-3 now. The papaya salad and the curries are delicious. We also like the chicken satay and one of the soups but I forget the name but it’s wow so good.

Nova Y.

Listen… we got the chicken eggrolls and shrimp dumplings via DoorDash, and let me tell you—every bite was a straight-up flavor bomb. Crispy, savory, juicy, perfectly seasoned… like they packed a little love AND chaos into each bite. Even through delivery, nothing got soggy, nothing lost its magic. Pros: • Food survives DoorDash. That’s rare. • Flavor is unapologetically bold. Hits every note—spicy, savory, comfort food all at once. • Generous portions. Honestly, you could share… but why would you? Cons: • Honestly? Zero. Even the delivery was smooth, and we’re picky. Verdict: If you’re in Denton and thinking Thai food, stop thinking and just order. DoorDash or dine-in, it’s a whole mood.

This little Thai Restaurant is one of Denton's best kept secrets! My sister recommend dining here after a long day of shopping. We both love good Thai food and wanted to experience some really bold favorites during our dining experience. Oh my, we were not disappointed! The attention to details were obvious. We shared a crispy Shrimp Appetizer with a sweet and sour dipping sauce that was delicious and cooked to perfection! Next we each ordered the Red Spicy Chicken Curry with steamed rice because we are both huge fans of this dish. "Hats off" to the chef for the wonderful meal and great experience! The simple dining room is also staffed with incredible friendly personnel who will definitely help guide you through the menu. I highly recommend dining here whether looking for good Thai food or just a great meal!

Delicious Thai food was served in this restaurant. We enjoyed a wonderful evening with friends. Our waitress was attentive and the curry was full of flavor. 😅🥰👌 This restaurant was recommended to us by locals. The menu includes a variety of salads, soups, rice, seafood, curry. There is also vanilla ice cream and soda. I recommend!🥰

5 stars mainly for the food. It’s excellent. Wonton soup is the best I’ve ever had. My go to is the combination fried rice. We had the shrimp with peanut sauce- sweet & sour chicken. Fried wontons for appetizer. All great! Staff is always very friendly but usually have to wait for your food. But worth the wait. Dining area small & busy with to go orders. Little pricy.

Had the perfect experience here. Tam Kah soup was out of this world!! The tomatoes in it were a first, but made it almost creamier. The sesame chicken was perfection!!! Not too much breading like other places. James was an excellent server. Please come here. Worth every penny!! Update: Kay continues to take such great care of me. Love it here. Always good food and good times here.

Thai Ocha is one of my favorite places in Denton. Anytime I’m craving some takeout, Thai Ocha is the first place I think of going! I’ve tried everything from their Pad Kee Mow, Thai Dumplings, and Yellow Curry and have never been disappointed. I’ve also tried a majority of their rice dishes and can promise that you’ll love anything you order. While I do majority takeout, dining in is always nice too, the staff is super friendly, and its BYOB!

Our go-to in Denton for Thai. Good quality ingredients and generous portions. Very broad menu with options for meat/protein for most every main. Choices on rice and spice/heat. Reliable, whereas other Denton Thai restaurants are not.

The food was good and the service was excellent. I've had better Thai in DFW for less money, but it was definitely passable. I asked for a side of the entree fried rice to try it but all I got was bland rice with a few bits of egg - not worth the $. The Pad Thai was tasty, but could have used more flavor.

J
Jamie Webb

Food was good but was almost too spicy to eat. I asked for level 1 out of 5 and it was tough to finish. And 8’m from Louisiana and am used to a lot of spice! Felt awkward when my takeout wasn’t ready and there was no place to sit and wait. Maybe a bench at the front door?

L
Lawrencia L

Delicious Thai food at reasonable prices. I had the shrimp fried rice, which was delicious. Well seasoned as well. I like that you are able to pick your spice level. The only thing I will note is they are going through staffing changes, so be patient with them. The new manager Tracy was really nice warm. Be sure to note if you go for lunch you want the lunch special vs the dinner portion. This is a nice hidden gem in Denton. You can tell there are a lot of regulars who come here often to patronize the restaurant. There are options to call ahead and order off you like and the servers were wearing mask.

J
James Richardson (Eternal Rock)

This was a great meal. Everything was well done. From the delicious appetizers to the Perfect Tom Yum Soup, to a wonderful salmon panang. The server was frendly and attentive. I recomend this place for a solid meal. The atmosphere could be updated on some wabaly tables. Other than that it was aces.

The food was amazing! Unfortunately though it was cold because it sat on my porch too long. I have asked repeatedly for the delivery person to ring the door bell but they never do. Every time they just put it on my porch and we have no clue it is there. I don’t have my phone strapped to me like a teenager so I am not seeing texts. Why not just ring the bell like I ask so my food isn’t cold?

Walked in and noticed the inside could use a renovation but was mostly clean. Ordered Tom Yum soup, Red Curry, and Thai tea. Ordered was delivered to my table in short time. I was expecting the Tom Yum first but got everything at the same time. Both the Tom Yum and the Red curry were very good. This came with steamed rice. My Thai tea was also good but was in a smaller container than expected. The food was excellent, the service was good, overall I enjoyed my meal here.

Ambience is superb so warm and cozy. As soon as you enter there is a positive vibe. They serve quality and fresh food. The portion sizes are big so be careful while ordering. Tom kha soup is delicious! Chicken sesame with rice is also good (photo). Sticky rice with egg custard is also good. They have pleasant staff but the service is slow. I would definitely come again!

T
Tiffony Leppanen

The food was good. The thing that ruined my first experience was service. We waited 30 minutes for our soup and 45 minutes for our food. The service was beyond terrible. Don't let that stop you from eating there food was great.

The egg spring rolls are great but the fried rice is not so good, rice was stale, tofu was hard and chewy. The fried rice is not worth the try or time.

I order pad Thai and the styrofoam container was soaked through and broken. Small bits of styrofoam were all over my food when I poured it into a bowl.

C
Charles Shelton

Tahi ocha is great when you eat in. If you ever order it to go, they place their really hot food in Styrofoam and it melts the Styrofoam every single time and it’s pretty gross and probably really bad for you. Please fix your to go option. You are one of my favorite Thai places in Denton

H
Holly Hanse

Waited 20 minutes past the time my order was supposed to be ready. Paid $4 for an extra steamed white rice, which is ridiculous enough, but I didn't even get it! Service here has gone WAY downhill. I see why there were only 3 tables occupied on a Saturday night. Never again Thai ocha, too many other options.

K
Kayley Eidson

I have been an AVID Thai Ocha customer for almost 10 years. I ordered takeout tonight (mid January 2026) and was surprised at how small my carry-out bag was. My order has not changed in the almost 10 years I’ve gone here, pineapple cashew fried rice, add chicken, sub tomatoes for water chestnuts. At some point in the last 3 months since my last order, they have cut their carry-out portions in half, from the standard square styrofoam boxes to the rectangular black plastic boxes with the clear lids. I used to eat on this meal for almost 3 days. Now, I’ll get my dinner and a snack tomorrow. I paid over $20 for this meal and am so incredibly disappointed. My business has been lost.

C
Christa Foster

I didn't go in person, but I can say that the pad kee mau I had was so weirdly sweet. I had to throw it away bc the flavors were so odd. I've been eating Thai for at least 2 decades and at least 5 years from that ocha. Something has changed and is isn't good

William Anderson

I am sad to have to give such a low review because the food is so good. It is way better than Thai Square or Oriental Garden. However, the dine-in experience is just terrible. I’ve dined in several times now. It always takes at least an hour to get your order. All the while, door dashers are coming in and out all the time. It seems like they put high priority on online orders and neglect their actual guests. And the whole time you’re sitting there waiting, you have to listen to the nonstop beeping coming from the tablet at the front desk. On our last visit, it took them ten minutes to give us a to-go box and then another ten to run our card. During previous visits, this has taken so long that I’ve had to go up to the desk and remind them that we are waiting on a to-go box or the card. The servers are always nice enough, just incredibly slow and inefficient. Again, it’s such a shame because the food is really good. I feel like this place has the potential to be something really special, but it just misses the mark completely.

A
Anthony Bright

We saw this restaurant on Google and saw it had great ratings. But the server forgot to put in our order and we waited for almost 2 hours before he realized he forgot to put in the order. It would have been nice if he checked on us. So we ended up leaving. Wish I could have given a better review.

Sampoorna Pattnaik

Reply: I wish you guys were a little more polite to begin with! Sorry to say this but I have had panang curry and red curry from different restaurants and from THAI OCHA too.. Red curry was always spicier and darker to look at. This time the gravy was the same. AND I AM QUITE FAMILIAR WITH THAI CURRIES. I don't know why people cheat! We ordered 2 chicken curries. Panang & Red. Picked up. Went home. Opened the box. Both were the same! 😬😱 Called them up. Someone said, "we will replace the order, but get the curry back!" I went to the restaurant. Cook comes out. Says, "these are 2 different curries" I was unable to differentiate though. I was hell tired, hungry and not at all in a mood to argue. So I just gave up. I don't think I am ever visiting this place again.

Spice levels are for non-Asians, so get 5 if you want close to Asian level kick. The flavor was too sweet in our dishes and not enough spice. They don't charge for extra rice, but you're charged for a small pinch of peanuts/sprouts/etc. The portions are small for what they charge. The water taste good. Servers are nice.

[5/16/2022][$12] My awful beef dish was served on a broken plate. How lazy and cheap does the restaurant has to be to serve food like that. This restaurant probably cuts a lot of corners. My dish had that off putting bland frozen flavor in beef and vegetable ingredients. It had zero Thai flavor or any flavor. This food was below Chinese buffet or cheap hole-in-the-wall Chinese joint level. It is as if something bad is happening at the kitchen. I didn’t and couldn’t finish my food. What a disappointment and embarrassment. How can they serve Thai food like that? No wonder I saw no Asians in this restaurant. My companion who brought us here told me that his previous experience was decent but not on this day. His food wasn’t good either. The previous reviewers gave glowing review like they never had better Thai food before this one. I must came here on its worst day. This restaurant has 100 items on its menu. This is down right bad sign. Don’t even go to a restaurant of this size that has 100 items on its menu. It is a bad sign. How can they keep all that inventory without them going bad or taste very frozen. Just awful. Just don’t.

I'm sorry. I thought I'd try a new restaurant.I didn't look at the menu first before sitting down.My eyes popped when I saw the prices!!😳 Couldn't afford anything on the menu. Just about every dish starts at $10.99 for 2 pieces of fried bananas?! $19.00 for every other dish.Royal Yum restaurant, who has no competition is a block away from you🧐

Cleanliness needs improvement. Mess in food prep and work areas. Thai coffee made my stomach hurt. It still hurts even after leaving. I am an avid coffee drinker and I don’t get stomach aches from coffee. Our waitress was a rude kind of “fake kind”. I asked for light ice and the server brought me a cup abnormally full of ice and very little sweet tea in it. I drank the little bit of tea and had a cup, full to the rim with ice left. I then asked for a sweet tea with no ice (thinking I could just add in the ice I had). She brings me a half full cup of sweet tea, no ice…? I couldn’t logic that one. Unbelievably passive aggressive. I served tables for over 7 years. I honestly have no idea what we did wrong. Nothing as far as I can tell. The fried rice is not fried and is a major $4 up charge. The Kao Soi was delicious, but everything else we ordered was mediocre. It was sad. I used to eat here all the time, but this will be our last. Update: I changed my review to 1 star as it is now 1:30am and my stomach pains are keeping me awake.

Be careful when ordering online. I ordered tofu Pad See Ew and under “requests,” I wrote “no eggs please,” because I have a severe intolerance. After I picked up and got home, the dish had eggs and when I called, they told me I put my request in the wrong text box (it was the only section for requests when I ordered). When I asked if they could remake the dish, they said no, so I wasted $15+ on a meal I couldn’t eat. I understand they’re a small business and I might just be entitled, but if they don’t read the entire order/instructions beforehand and include an ingredient that the customer cannot physically consume, they should take the loss and remake the dish. Should’ve submitted a chargeback with my bank (this was some months ago) but I felt like they genuinely needed the $15+ more than me since they were so resistant about correcting their mistake

I recently dined at Thai Ocha and was quite disappointed. The basil fried rice I ordered had no basil in it, which was surprising and very disappointing. The overall quality of the food was poor—everything lacked freshness and flavor. For the prices they charge, I expected a much better experience. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to both their food and service.
