Sal's Pizzeria DeRuyter Reviews
Great pizza, great service!
We usually order here at least 2-3 times a month. Sals pizza is Ahhhmazing authentic NY style pizza. The pie is amazing, the wings are great( best flavor is "Garbage Wings") meatball subs are as authentic as it can get, even tried a Cannoli today and that was great!! Definitely go to this Gem cause its worth it. It is in the middle of no where land but well worth the trip
Best pizza I have ever had
Absolutely best pizza shop ,nice small town atmosphere
Very nice family owned business with great food and service.
Delicious football/New York style pizza, been there twice after a hunting trip. Friendly staff and Italian soccer on the tv. If you’re hunting in the area and wanna grab a bit to eat stop here.
Myself or my kids eat here weekly. It’s been great food and a friendly environment! I can honestly say over 30 years they have never disappointed me!
I got a a Hawaiian pizza and Im not big with that kind of pizza but for the way they made it it was good
This has the best pizza around. Their dough is the best. Their topping are always delicious. And the owner plus workers, are always so welcoming and great. Always highly recommended!!!! If you are near the area it’s the place to go!!
This place is not just great for a small town, it's great in general. Everything is fresh and ready quickly. The staff is polite and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable and pizza is always on point.
Every worker is great and friendly. Food is always amazing. The only downside to the place is the father and son are both fans of terrible soccer teams.
The pizza is amazing. The sauce is savory and the crust is thin, and foldable. Absolutely delicious. Family said the wings were great. The garlic knots are perfect with lots of garlic butter for dipping. The cheesecake was authentic and delectable. 10/10 Can't wait to visit again.
Great pizza here. Probably the best I've had since I moved to NY a couple years ago. Great dough and excellent sauce. The garlic knots were top notch. Dude was very welcoming when we came in for a dine-in dinner with the grandson. Our waitress was great, brought our food out as soon as it came out of the oven. Restroom was clean, as was the dining area. Prices were great for the current state of the economy. 27 bucks for a large specialty pie. Along with the garlic knots, we took a few slices home, so we definitely got our money's worth. Even the teen aged boy got full! We will most definitely be going back to Sal's!
Love eating their the food is great and they are very friendly. It's a great Italian restaurant where you walk in and get greeted like you've been friends for years. That's what I call small home town charm and personality. I would recommend this place to anyone. Ps great prices for families and anyone traveling through the area.
Absolutely great pizza. Got 2 cheese slices and bottled soda for $6.99 special. Pizza was amazing great dough and crispy, sauce just right and fresh mozzarella cheese 7.8 rating... Owner was present and extremely friendly to be serving you. Worth the stop if in the area. Have nice menu for other stuff as well. Forgot to mention no flob so that's great dough
Very amazing pizza! There is a really cool story behind the business! Would definitely recommend getting eating there and it is a very good price. There pieces are very large and would lick’n the pizza to New York style.
Ordered 2 sheet pizzas, on a timed order the day before event...they were perfect, and ready on time. Family owned business, very nice people. This is the first time I have been a customer, but my family orders from here alot.
Love this place! If I'm within 10 miles of DeRuyter I always drive to Sal's. Great (4.5-star) pizza. 5-star, friendly service. 6-star price for the 2-slice special ($5 for two slices and a large drink!).
Best pizza around - My family and I love Sal’s pizza. We miss it a lot now that we have moved away from DeRuyter, But always a nice treat when we are able to visit family in town and get Sal’s for dinner. My husband and I love the Broccoli and Ham pizza! Be careful of the wings though as far as the spice level. There mild is known to be spicy and it’s just gets hotter as you move up to medium and hot.
Sal’s is one of those spots that’s been part of the local rhythm for years—pizza’s solid, and the garlic knots bring the kind of garlic that sticks with you (in the best way). Prices lean a little high, but you get your money’s worth. Pro tip: timing matters. Catch it earlier in the day and things tend to come out just right. Still one of the more reliable comfort stops around.
When a customer points to the fresh slice, give them the fresh, not the old, was thin in the middle, flapping down, with too much cheese. Made puzza fir 25 years, sorry, easy to critique. Otherwise, not bad.
