Climbing Wolf Coffee & Beer Dobbs Ferry Reviews
One of the best coffee shops in Westchester County, hands down. Friendly staff, fresh coffee, and they're dog friendly! Can't wait to come back here.
Was there a few mornings during Thanksgiving week while visiting family. Knowledgeable barista and staff, priced well, friendly and above average caffès and chai. Did not try the pastries, breads or any food options. Will return when in the area.
Climbing Wolf is the cornerstone of the Dobbs community! Best coffee around and the beer offering is crazy. (I've prowled around my share of beer spots in NYC, and none comes close.) The baristas are awesome, the place is friendly and welcoming. Great place to work during the day and reward yourself at quittin' time.
Love this coffee place and bar. Literally the best to co- work with friends or have a drink after hours 🍻 The staff are always friendly too, morning or night. Today they saved me from the cold with a Hot Chocolate! I will be back with friends.
I love CW! They have the best coffee, beer, the pastries are really good. Their staff is super nice! Can't wait for their next location to open!
Very good place! Staff is attentive and social (they helped me, a newcomer, after one noticed I looked like a deer in headlights when my order was ready). The atmosphere, especially after being in the cold for a bit, was pleasant and warm! I'm yet to experience the bar side of Climbing Wolf, but I don't think much of my (small) review would change!
I had a hard cider and brought my laptop during the evening. I happened to be there during a game night when lots of people were playing board games. Very chill and friendly atmosphere. Would definitely go back. Only issue was finding street parking. Not an overly loud place.
Love this coffee shop! The owners are some of the nicest people and they are a staple on Main Street. Great spot with an amazing selection of craft beer in the back as well, perfect for evening hangs.
By far the best beer and coffee bar in Westchester. Excellent beer, excellent coffee and an amazing sense of community. You really feel at home and always meet amazing people. Not to be missed! I can't believe it's already been 5 years of good times. Thank you Gomez bros.
The best coffee in the area and my favorite place to hang out in the Rivertowns. Owners JB and Chris, and their team, have created such a warm and comfortable space with a great selection of pastries and drinks. They have 12 rotating beers on tap, plus an impressive selection of craft beers, ciders, etc in the fridge. Great seasonal specials too—like right now they have apple cider on tap and it is *chefs kiss* sooooo tasty. Coffee closes around 4-5 pm but they are open late and host a lot of fun and free programming for the community. Don’t sleep on this spot ❤️
Wow what an amazing coffee shop. I don’t even know where to start. I was truly amazed to see brandywine and passenger coffee being served. Those are some seriously good coffee roasters. Some of the best I know. I got the latte which was amazing. My wife got a caramel oat milk latte which was out of this world. When we went back the next day I got another latte and she got the Bourbon barrel aged cold brew which was delicious too. Were from out of the area, I hope to get back there someday to share the appreciation of coffee. This coffee shop rocks!
Climbing Wolf is hands-down one of the best spots in Dobbs Ferry. The coffee is always on point—smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. Their rotating beer selection is awesome too, with plenty of local and unique options you don’t usually find elsewhere. The space itself has a cool, laid-back vibe that works whether you’re grabbing a quick latte, hanging out with friends, or winding down with a pint. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, which really makes the place feel like a neighborhood staple. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the Rivertowns!
I’ve spent the past week exploring every coffee spot within 45 minutes of me in Westchester. This place has extraordinary sources, brewing methods, and service. This is the greatest coffee shop I’ve been to on the planet. Show up, be kind, there’s plenty space to work or hang and you can taste a coffee unlike anything you’ve had before.
Let me start by saying—I’m 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭 𝘸𝘩𝘰’𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦. Now, let me tell you why. It’s a long one. So grab a drink and some snacks. 1. The Coffee – It’s always fresh and consistent. Starbies? You could 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 2. The Beer – At night, this place metamorphosizes into a bar. The selection is great. The tap list is a very well-curated mix of craft beers, always delivering something fresh and unique. I don’t know much about beer, but I do know about getting tipsy. Would 100% recommend. If you’re nice(-ish) enough, they might even let you write on one of the boards for the tap beers. In addition to the 12 beers on tap, they have a fully stocked fridge with all kinds of beers—whether you want to enjoy one there or take a few to go. No matter what you like, there’s something for everyone. 3. The People- JB and Chris, the owners, are absolutely wonderful. You can always pick their brains about all things beer, coffee, food, and most things life. Bartenders and baristas Kaitlyn, Justin, Angel, and Tabitha are as lovely. They’re friendly, fun, and make this place feel so warm and welcoming. 4. Dogs – This is a pet-friendly place. There’s always at least a dog wagging their tail, wanting to be petted. If you need some oxytocin but are too lazy to go for a run or too irresponsible to get a pet for yourself (like me), this is another reason to visit this place. 5. The Vibe – Whether you’re human, alien, vampire, or a zombie, you’re welcome here. No judgment—unless you’re an a-hole. Then kindly stay outside. 6. The Most Useless Trivia by Polish John – Every Thursday at 8, Polish John hosts the most hilarious trivia night ever. Aptly titled The Most Useless Trivia, it’s packed with random facts that will help you absolutely nowhere in life, but boy, is it fun. If you’re in the area and love not-so-serious trivia, you have to give it a shot. I promise, you won’t be disappointed. 7. Local Art – They feature a rotating exhibit of local artists, which is always a great addition to the space. It’s a wonderful way to support the artists. 8. Bring Your Own Food – While the place doesn’t have a kitchen, you’re totally welcome to bring in your own food or grab something from any of the nearby spots. This is their modest way of not just making the place more welcoming but also supporting other businesses in the area. There’s no way in hell you could resist going and buying something for yourself once a patron opens their box of tacos from Los Ferchos. 9. The Community – If you live in the neighborhood, this is a place you must visit. It pulls you in like a black hole, helping you find your tribe—no matter how lost you feel in the abyss of life. (Sorry for the metaphor, I’m a little tipsy thanks to Hardywood’s Christmas Morning beer here at Climbing Wolf. It’s amazing!). I moved to the neighborhood nearly six months ago and started coming here to work while I took my time setting up my place. This spot became my little bubble of stability while everything else in my life was changing. Sorry for the sap. If you’re on the lookout for your people, chances are you’ll find them here. Having said that, my bank account isn’t exactly happy or proud of my spendings here at Climbing Wolf, but my heart is definitely very warm and fuzzy. So, if you want great coffee, incredible beer, and a place to just be, Climbing Wolf is where you need to go. P.S. This is not a paid review.
Located near the Hudson River, this cafe is not difficult to find a place to park your car. I took my ice latte to the park where the station is located and enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly, the restrooms were clean and the restaurant looked cozy. The coffee tasted fruity and was the perfect latte for a hot day. I recommend it if you come to this area.
Best coffee place in Dobbs Ferry downtown. Coffee is great, barista is super nice, wifi is provided. Their muffins are also amazing. I only wish they served sandwiches at lunch, but that will only make this already popular place more crowded. Last but not least this place is also a popular gathering place for Dobbs Ferry dogs xD
So happy there is a dog friendly cafe near our home! The place is so comfortable and staff were friendly and welcoming. The music playing in the background was A+ and the cappuccino and herbal tea was delicious. All we had was a cake pop but that was yummy too! Will def have to come back out for one of their events and try the beer! WiFi was fast and prices were reasonable. Overall a great experience and super recommend it! ❤️
Great place to get third wave coffee and craft beer! The owners are super friendly, and will gladly help you to choose one of the many interesting beers on draft or in their beer case. They also feature a rotating exhibit of gallery worthy local artists, which always brightens up the space! They have pastries and a small selection of sweets to go with the coffee service, and allow BYO food too.
While I don’t think anyone has come here for the Key lime bar- they should!! Holy hell. So freakin good. It’s pretty sweet so def a sharing pastry. Coffee is good. Both drip and cold brew. Scone was a bit dry- which I guess it’s supposed to be that way so if your into really authentic scones they will be perfect for you! Service is good and fast (weekend line was out the door and it was moving fast) Overall great place. Will return.
