We stopped by for sashimi and to the chefs credit he wasn't serving it that day as he couldn't find sushi grade fish that he found acceptable. We did enjoy some nicely sautéed and sauced filets instead which were very good and very fresh as is most of the fish in this part of the world. These dishes are obviously geared to the gringo market as the locals would never spend this kind of money on lunch. Of course these lovely plates would be a bargain in Europe but sadly the trend in even this small Baja town is fancier food and fancier prices....at the expense of genuine, traditional Mexican cooking. Living in Poland I'd far rather have a dish full of the flavors of Mexico when visiting Mexico rather than one geared towards continental cuisine... Finding mashed potatoes on the plate was unnerving....Still, the chipotle cream sauce was delicious... and the Vera Cruz style filet nice as well though a bit more spice would not have gone amiss. My one complaint were the margaritas which were certainly the weak point of the meal...very very sour..... My sister , on another occasion was unhappily surprised to be presented with a bill for 480 pesos for the " Cadillac " version... better but expensive by any standards....The apple mojito was a better choice for some... Chef is a friendly guy and his young waiter anxious to please. If you're looking for this kind of cooking then I'm sure you'd be very happy here.

This place is better than anyplace in Los Barriles. It was fantastic the pasta was cooked just right and the sauce tasted amazing. My husband had the surf and turf and it was so good. We loved loved it thank you so much. Yummy!!!!

This informal restaurant in the heart of el Cardonal has incredible food! The menu selection includes sushi rolls, seafood dishes, pasta, and hamburgers. We started with a sushi roll. For the main course we ordered the grilled garlic sea bass, which came on a bed of mashed potatoes and fresh grilled vegetables. We also had the fresh vegetarian fettuccine with pistachio sauce. It was all very delicious! For alcohol they make a great margarita. They do not carry beer or wine, but you are welcome to bring your own.

We had a fantastic experience! Although it's a bit out of the way, it was worth it, and we'll be back! The sushi is delicious, prepared to perfection, and the attention to detail goes into the process. The service was also excellent. The sashimi was fresh and delicious, and the burger was delicious! You can tell the chef puts his heart into what he does, and he was also incredibly attentive and pleasant. We loved this beautiful little place!

Restaurante el Cheff is very nice sushi place. Service was fast and variety in menu is quite decent. The chief specialty for a group of people was a great decision. Driving from Los Barriles was definitely worth it.

Nice option in a somewhat remote area. Service was fast and efficient. Pasta dishes are delicious and beautifully served. Menus is different from the typical restaurants (risotto, home made pasta, etc.) Lunch was a bit pricy however. USD 52 for two pasta dishes (one with veggies and the other with chicken) and limonades.

Great place. I worked at a sushi bar in Los Angeles for 7 years and have eaten lots of sushi all over the world. This is a great find and worth the visit. Ask for the chefs special.

Don’t miss out on this amazing sushi place! This was the best sushi we have ever had. They had fresh yellow tail and did fantastic chef specials for the group. It was a small place with nice outdoor seating and very clean. It’s well worth the drive. The chef was friendly and welcoming. He also made great margaritas too.
