Agry Owl El Paso Reviews
First time trying it and the hangover burger had everything plus some extras. It was so good do not eat it if your heart is hurting because it will finish you off haha. Totally worth it though.
Great service, the atmosphere was pleasant as well. We had the jalapeño creme chees burger and the picadillo tacos along with chips and queso. The server was very observant and had our drinks refilled before we even asked, he was very knowledgeable on the menu and made great suggestions. We will definitely come back for more.
Prices are spot on. Food is solid. Lots of specials and happy hour deals. Military is 15% off. Good drink menu. Variety of menu options. Server was great. Nothing negative to say! The chips and salsa are fantastic!
We go here at least once a week and kind of consider it our spot and here’s why.I work for a commercial glass company so I bust my ass every day and when we go out to eat our once a week I want to go somewhere where the food is good the beer is better and the atmosphere isn’t that corporate bs and super busy environment that you k ow who provides. I want genuine and affordable. That’s the angry owl. Shout out to Joma he’ll take good care of you but so will any staff. Customers for life …..yeah I said it. If you don’t go you’re missing out.
My grandparents brought me here while I was visiting them, and it was wonderful! Our server was Sofia, and she was so kind, friendly, and attentive! She always made sure we had everything we could want/need, and just had good energy. The food was great as well, highly recommend!
If you’re looking for a true taste of the Sun City, you need to get to Angry Owl on Mesa. This place captures that authentic El Paso home-style flavor that's so hard to find anywhere else. Every single dish they put out has that perfect balance of spice and heat—it’s bold and flavorful without being overwhelming. My favorites unique to this restaurant... Hatch Green Chile Potato Chowder: Absolutely awesome. It’s creamy, cheesy, comforting, and has that signature Hatch kick that makes it a local masterpiece. Shrimp Tacos: Wow! The seasoning is spot on, and the shrimp are cooked to perfection just the right of amount of toppings and of course angry heat that's a perfect balance of flavor. Blackened Salmon on Spicy Rice, it all comes together awesome. Calabacitas: Again...Wow! Taste just like my momma's! Honestly, you can’t get any more "El Paso" than this. It tastes just like home. Beyond the food, the beer is always ice-cold, which is exactly what you need in West Texas. Plus, they have great specials running every single day, making it an easy choice for a casual lunch or a night out. Bottom line: Add Angry Owl to your "must-do" list. It’s a local gem that truly understands our city’s flavor.
Had the lunch trio with the tortilla chicken soup, bacon burger and beer battered fries. The soup was excellent, warm and flavorful with a hint of spice. Just right. The bacon burger was good, big and with a lot of veggies. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. Our server was quick with the beverage refills and checked in on us to see if the food was to our liking.
Joma was AWESOME!! I come here because of his attentive service. Always on point and kind. Refills fast, checks on us numerous times and gives you the WOW factor that other restaurants lack. I will definitely be returning and requesting him.
The food is always delicious. Staff is kind and attentive. The Abondingas soup thrills me and calabacitas soothes. Fish tacos are so delicious! The beans, green Chile mashed potatoes, cilantro lime rice.... I could go on... flavor explosions for the taste buds!!
The albondigas soup is the best and their appetizer nachos are my fave! A good happy hour is hard to find but this place has it all. Great specials every day and friendly staff. Never have had a bad experience here. Definitely recommend for lunch, dinners, and date nights!
My husband and I were fortunate enough to be introduced to The Angry Owl while we were visiting friends in El Paso, and we had a GREAT meal! The Owl boasts an unusual menu, with lots of fabulous Mexican food offerings such as Calabacitas and Hatch green chili potato chowder. The dishes are traditional or fusion-inspired Mexican cuisine (like the Sun City salmon on cilantro-lime rice and topped with Pico de Gallo). The Albondigas soup was SO tasty, and the Calabacitas were AMAZING! Our friends had chicken-fried steak over mashed potatoes (which was served as a generous portion and had yummy breading) and the Southwest Chicken Caesar Salad (which was IMMENSE). Cooper was our server and was fabulous! They were very friendly and efficient; there was a little wait for our food to arrive (maybe there were less kitchen staff due to the holiday), but our orders were taken quickly and Cooper checked back frequently to ensure we were enjoying our meals. They guided those of us new to the restaurant through the menu and was patient with all my questions (especially regarding the Calabacitas). The restaurant is in an open, roomy space with plenty of seating, yet it felt intimate enough for private conversations. We’ll definitely be back to The Angry Owl on our next visit to El Paso!
Our most recent visit tonight had great service. Our waitress informed us that there had been a big to go order right before we arrived, which took a while, but she had such good communication and care the whole time and checked up on us to make sure we didn’t need anything, on top of drink refills. Even got a free dessert to go for the wait, overall a great experience and great place
It had been a few years since I had eaten here and I am sad I didn't come back sooner. All of the food was delicious. Katelynn was our server and she was absolutely outstanding! She was attentive, friendly and we never had to ask for anything. I run a retail establishment and I would be proud to have someone like her on my team. Or 10 of her rather. 🙂 Keep up the great job Angry Owl. I will definitely be back!
One of the best visits we've had coming to the Angry Owl. The food was delicious. Chips and queso were on point. My wife and I had burgers and the burgers were amazing. Talk about amazing customer service, Andrew the bartender was spectacular. Andrew was courteous, attentive and was never asked to get us extra drinks or other items. He was on top of it. Thank you
The wait staff members are genuinely friendly, hospitable and have a great sense of humor! Their squash soup is absolutely delicious and needs to be a regular big bowl item (ours was just a bit cold), we loved it so much we ate it as is! This was an excellent place to hold our alumni board meeting! Thank you for the experience!!! 🤗❤️
It was a little slow for a football Sunday. Happy Hour all day. Cold beer, trash can nachos were fire. We guacamole burger and the Juarez Burger. Both were amazing but more kudos to the Juarez Burger. Prices were not bad counting for inflation but this isn't were you want to be to save a buck. We spent about $100 total for two people. Will recommend and will be back the staff was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed.
Been a few years since I was last here and it's still a great experience. They have a bar, outdoor seating, and three levels of indoor seating! Food is delicious, in house salsa is fresh and beers are served cold! Fries are thick cut, nachos are cheesy, shrimp was well seasoned and fried (without tails too) and burgers are super thick (double patty). Service is great and very attentive. Plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible. They offer daily specials (take a look at pics) on food and drinks. Highly recommend!
The salad was good. It took a while to get the food. Prices are higher then I think they should be. $70 for 2 salads and teas and a slice of chocolate cake.
Had my pre interview dinner here and the place was amazing. Had a table in the back and got a chicken burger while others got the steak, fajitas and plenty more. My burger was soggy from the sauce so couldn’t eat it without a fork and nice but still was delicious ! Waiter was quick and it wasn’t too crowded. Private sections to have conversations as well and a bar area !
I went last week for lunch and was so disappointed!! I'm fully aware ordering from the lunch menu means smaller portions but this was just pitiful! And even IF the portions were acceptable, just look at meat looking like a piece of coal dumped on the bun! When I asked the server if the burger was supposed to look like this she said yes. A supervisor came to the table and told me that it was because I ordered off the lunch menu, which is a pathetic response for how ridiculous the plate looked. Like they really let food come out looking like this and think that's ok?! I used to love Angry Owl, so sad.
