Restaurant Guadalajara Elgin Reviews
Ordered the chicken tortilla soup on DoorDash and was so impressed! Came with really fresh avocado, pico, and rice. The soup was delicious.
The largest portion sizes!! Enchiladas look more like burritos! I always get Menudo or Chicharron and all are fantastic! A little pricey, around $20 each, but well worth it. Highly recommend!!
I asked a person at HEB what is the best Mexican food in town. And this is where she sent me. I must say she knew what she was talking about. It is the best Mexican food.I've had so far in this town.
Delicious breakfast and lunch options. We went on a Sunday after church with no wait and were served quickly. The restaurant is located adjacent to a small motel. We went because of the Google reviews. Would definitely come back.
Seriously if you don't go to these small restaurants, you don't know what you're messaging! The food is outstanding and the flavor is true Mexican flare!!! Highly recommended. So not listen to the negative comments.. this place is so delicious😋
Came in town to celebrate a cousin's birthday the night before. Love coming back to where my grandmother was born and raised, when you could walk across the street barefooted to the only mercantile store in town. Stop that this old hotel to see what the food was about and I was surprised!! Will be returning when I'm coming through!!
this place blows me away every time.. the staff is friendly and attentive but the food..... the food is so good.. the carne asada is the best I've ever had. i gave up on this dish when eating at restaurants because so many places dont cook it well. the queso is great and their variety of salsas are really really good. the chips come out hot which makes a big difference as well. We really appreciate this hidden gem in Elgin. oh and they stay open later than any other restaurant in town! another thing we like about this place is the atmosphere, its old school good food and good service, they let the food and service shine. also the only place I've found with cactus as a topper but if you think you're not a fan give it a try it makes the taco so so good! I have two pictures only because most time m so excited I forget to snap a picture. Would definitely recommend if you are in town or just passing through on 290, amazing food and service!
Stopped by on my way to Austin from Houston. Nice little hole in the wall place. The food is good with decent portions. The prices are cheaper than other Mexican restaurants. The staff is friendly and they are quick to get the food out. Very casual, most of the customers are Hispanic guys coming off work.
Visited From Killeen... Food 10/10 Service 6/10 Camarones a la diabla are SPICY! Caldo is hot & delicious Flauta is huge & my baby ate it all Enchiladas are good Taco salad was huge & the meat has sooo much flavor Service is just UGHHH, dropping our silverware on the table, just a Ugh im here attitude. All waitress were huddled laughing hard, good, but tables needed a little more attention. Would go bak for the food.
Always eat here on weekends . Like their food, service is above average 8.5 The atmosphere maybe an upgrade would make this restaurant look cleaner. Besides this overall it passes .
We went there twice within about a week. The food is good overall, the staff is friendly. It's a really small, casual place, but we like it. I only have two criticisms - the first time we ate there the Chicken Tortilla soup that my daughter ordered and so many pieces of tortilla in it that it was like eating mostly tortillas. So they could put a lot less in there. You'll see the picture in my post, but you may not be able to from that photo. The next time we went, I ordered the Smoked Pork Chops. Well, it turns out they were NOT pork chops at all! It was thin ham steaks, and the VERY overcooked! Kind of hard and very dry, but I did not send them back because I felt uncomfortable about doing that at that moment. I just ate most of it. But I did mention it to the waitress at the end. She said she was sorry, and she offered to bring something else or another order. I said "No, it's okay. But thank you. Just let the cook know". So the service was good.
I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place, I came to visit from Dallas and saw good reviews on here, I regret stopping food had no type of flavor, I don’t want to sound mean but everything was nasty. it’s not worth it
We placed an order on (doordash) to pick up food ourselves from this restaurant. If i could give zero stars I would, im not someone to leave reviews, but i was very unhappy with the food. We ordered a pozole (very bland, hardly any color, flavor) I got the green chicken enchiladas (very bland, no flavor, the rice and beans had absolutely no flavor, the meat in the enchiladas looked old) My husband got two tacos he said they were ok. Needless to say we spent almost 50$ for bland, old food. Never again going back. Their prices are very high for the quality of food they are serving.
So I just came here for breakfast with a friend. She got a child pancake plate that $7.50. I ordered 2 eggs hash brown and bacon thinking this was a plate. I was wrong. They charged me $8.50 for 2 eggs and a McDonald's hash brown. The plate was so full of oil I had to sop it up with napkins. The bacon came as a "side". It was so over cooked and crumbled like burnt bacon does. This was $2.50. Couldn't even eat it. I ordered a unsweetened tea that they charged me $4.50 for and my friend got coke for $3.75! Then I paid a credit card fee of $1.16. So for the worse breakfast I have ever encountered I paid $30.12 for 2 ppl and hardly any food. Needless to say I would NEVER COME HERE FOR BREAKFAST AGAIN!!!
Walked in and the place smelled too strong of Pine Sol. We sat and waited a long time for a menus. Finally we were served chips and salsa. The salsa was not good at all. It was heavily seasoned with oregano. We ordered the daily specials at 10:95 each. A water and an ice tea. My husband got the milanesa and I got the three crispy tacos. We waited a long time for our food. When his plate arrived his melanesa serving was larger than the plate, it was HUGE! The breading would not stay on the meat and it was burned. My taco meat tasted awful and the tortillas were soggy. Our bill came out to be $45!!!! We will not be going back nor recommending it.
