Le Dock Fair Harbor Reviews
Great food as with any Jean George restaurants we have been to around the world. Service ok, needs improvement at times when very busy. They need better all purpose wine glasses for when having a bottle of wine.
Food was delicious. Great menu and each dish was seasoned perfectly. The salmon was amazing. Same for steak and everything else we had. Service was excellent. They have this outdoor dining down pat. Views of the sunset are an added bonus. Going back next week; its that good!
Amazing food!Burger was delicious/ chicken fingers/lobster Roll and service was amazing!!! With a great atmosphere of the water!!! Will definitely come back! Artichokes was delicious
It was well worth the bike ride from Kismet to Fair Harbor. We went for an early dinner during the week so there was no wait. The decor is lovely. They don't have a written kids menu but we were able to get pasta with butter and a slice of pizza for the kids. I had the linguine with clams which had a light fresh flavor. My husband had the truffle sea bass special and that was phenomenal. We shared the crunchy salmon sushi appetizer. That was nice but I found the deep fried rice overpowered the bite so I ate the salmon separately. Overall we had a wonderful experience.
The ambience was relaxing and refreshing. The staff created a warm and inviting atmosphere for my dining experience. The drinks were delicious and the food was outstanding. I cannot wait to go back and enjoy another exceptional culinary experience.
Reliable local eatery in Fair Harbor. Friendly seasonal staff, they always make an effort to ensure a nice experience.
This was amazing. The food was very good and everyone was super nice. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for the best dining experience around.
Le Dock is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Fire Island. As a seafood enthusiast, I am delighted to have discovered this incredible restaurant that has truly mastered the art of crafting exquisite dishes using the freshest ingredients from the ocean.
Had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was terrific...the service and food were both outstanding. We had 35 people but I've also been there when it was just two of us, and it's always a great experience.
On a particularly busy evening... Saturday of Labor Day weekend... And with college kids back at school.. the staff on hand worked together and worked hard to provide great service. We had the specials and they were fantastic.
Food was excellent. Great atmosphere. Excellent service. I had a great dinner meal on 7/10/22. Highly recommend. Eat outside around sunset if possible.
The food is amazingly delicious. Everyone is so nice here. This is the best restaurant have ever been. I love this place so much.
Not many option in Fair Harbor… not that you need any when you have Le Dock, to be truthful. Staff is warm and welcoming, food is of great quality, must try their pizza shop. Some of the best pizza I’ve had in a while and it’s not in located within nyc. 10/10
With a new chef this year, Le Dock has become only a restaurant with a wonderful venue, views and service, but also a place with exceptionally delicious fare. All five of the dishes the two of us ordered were fabulous, and the portions were way more than adequate in size. Our server, Dalton, was absolutely terrific. Looking forward to our next meal there!
I asked the bartender what her favorite thing was. She recommended the Mahi-Mahi taco. Everyone reading this review must try it. Her nickname is now legs. The atmosphere the sunset. It's a beautiful place, come to Le Dock
Great food, service, and atmosphere!
I had such a great experience at LeDock on Fire Island! I ordered the penne alla vodka, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked pasta with a rich, flavorful sauce that hit the spot. The service was excellent; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole evening feel effortless. We sat outside, and the atmosphere was exactly what you’d want for a Fire Island dinner—relaxed, breezy, and chill. It was so nice to enjoy a great meal with that ocean air. Between the food, service, and vibe, LeDock is definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!
Prices are to be expected due to location but I don’t think the extra 3% is necessary. Moving forward… Loved everything! Menus for brunch did not have a lot of selection but it’s not needed. We ordered the banana French toast and the Benedict. French toast was encrusted with pecans and was out of this world delicious. Benedict was cooked perfectly ! Drinks were on point. We ordered an espresso martini and a aeperol spritz. We also ordered the fried artichoke app which was good. Staff was so friendly , our server “Sunny” was so great to talk to and so helpful with info about Fire Island, not to mention a terrific waiter. Our brunch was the highlight of our visit !
We had our wedding at Le Dock on June 18, 2022! It was the perfect day! We worked with Michael at Le Dock for over a year to plan our perfect wedding day. He was amazing! He was genuinely excited for us, and happy to accommodate in any/every way he could. Leading up to the wedding, we met on zoom each month to discuss the details, any changes, and finalize everything. Michael & his team set up the chairs on the beach for our beautiful wedding ceremony (you can see in the pictures below). Then we had a happy hour at Le Dock, and the drinks and food were delicious! We had an amazing local band (thanks Howie Tichler and band!!) play during our happy hour. It was a particularly windy & cold day in June, and Michael and his team transitioned smoothly to more of an indoor reception than we had anticipated. Afterward, we had dinner & speeches outside as the sun set. Then, it was cake cutting and dancing! Michael recommended a local DJ (thanks DJ Brian!), and we all had so much fun! What I appreciate the most about Michael & Le Dock was that our wedding was so personalized and so perfect for who we are as a couple. So many other wedding venues we looked at had a "cookie cutter" wedding package, where every wedding seemed the same, and it was almost industrial & entirely financial in how they churned out weddings. Our wedding was ours. Every detail, every moment, was special and was planned only for our wedding by us & by Michael. If you are looking for a place to have your wedding, definitely consider Le Dock! Not only is Fire Island maybe the most beautiful place ever to get married, but Michael will work with you more than any other venue to make sure your day is perfect! (And if you're just looking for dinner, definitely go check them out for that too!)
I’ve been getting pizza here for 30+ years. It’s as good as ever. Nothing beats a slice on a hot summer day followed by an Unfriendly’s ice cream.

Great food, service, and atmosphere!
Lovely casual atmosphere. Delicious dishes. The owners are fantastic.
Fantastic meal! We were 7 people and everyone loved their food…it was pasta night and the eggplant involtini and bolognese were amazing! On Fire Island? Go to le Dock!
Everything was perfect from beginning to end! Incredible food, impeccable service, most stunning view for watching the sunset! Such a great place you’ll want to visit again and again!
You will not find a restaurant on fire Island that is better. From the food, the host, the bartenders, the food aervers. Our waiter Ben is the best in the business. Makes you feel welcome, one of the best waiters I have had in any restaurant experience. If I could give 10 stars to this restaurant, I would.
Michael at Le Dock was wonderful. I planned a dinner for 32 people and he made sure everything was perfect. Tables were set and ready when we got there, food was good and everyone was happy. Staff was great to work with.
We hosted a party of 22ppl at Le Dock - Michael the owner was extremely communicative and helpful in getting everything organized. The service was exceptional, the food and cocktails were delicious! It is an annual summer dining stop for our family - and we will continue to keep going back.
⸻ Perfect for Groups – Lobster Night & Sunset Views! Visited Le Dock in Fair Harbor on a Wednesday for Lobster Night with a large group, and we all had a great time. The crispy rice sushi and fried calamari appetizers were excellent, and the lobster dinners were spot-on. The staff was super friendly and handled our group with ease. Family-friendly, relaxed vibe, and fair prices for Fire Island. Plus, it’s hands down the best spot to watch the sunset on the island. Highly recommend

Charming local spot - views are hard to beat! 630 - 700 res should get you an amazing sunset in the summer months.
A Jean-Georges restaurant in a most unlikely place: Fair Harbor, Fire Island! Good food, good service. We walk, bike over every summer from Saltaire (one town over). Check it out.
Nice bar located at the end of the dock near the pier. Nice bar vibe during happy hour. The service and food were good except for the lobster roll which is basically shredded lobster meat stuffed into a hot dog roll with little or no taste.
Lovely restaurant by the water. End of season brunch was delicious. Order the truffle pizza it’s divine. Pancakes and French toast generous in servings and all very yummy.

Given the prices, I was far from impressed. Lobster roll was decent but honestly I had a better one for 16 bucks at the Woodstock-New Paltz craft fair last weekend. Nice fries. Someone ordered a pathetic grilled chicken salad with some dressing that might as well have been Ken's on the side. Crab cake was forgettable. Burger was supposedly good but the diner ordered it medium-well so she knows nothing. Fish of the day went unfinished. Service was trash but not outright offensive. I get it, first weekend out of season so lets all slack off. If your in Dunewoods and must eat out then fine. If you have a choice then go elsewhere. Ps the rocket fuel cocktail was on point, but for 15 bucks just make some margaritas at the beach house your rich friends are renting. Not bitter.
Meh. Burgers are good, guacamole is horrid. They mix mushy green peas into it, and it's inedible. Drinks are great, staff and bartenders are awesome. Pricey but your dining options are quite limited in Fair Harbor. Pizza at the shack in the back is great.
We have gone to Le Dock for many years but our most recent dining experience with them was a great disappointment. They used to be more Italian focused with many phenomenal pasta dishes with seafood, and now is more like a seafood restaurant. We ordered the crab cakes and Parmesan herb crusted French fries to start - the crab cakes were a little fishy (could have used a little lemon juice) and the Parmesan crusted French fries were good fries, but not parmesan herb crusted. We ordered the penne alla vodka and the fish tacos for our entrees and both were very bland. They give good portions, but the food is not very flavorful. We asked for salt to help with that and never got it, despite us asking 3 different staff. Le Dock has been a very special restaurant for us that was a little pricey, but worth it as the food had been great. We are very disappointed of how much the quality has worsened.
We got the table at 7:30pm and didn't get food until 9pm. The party who came 45 min after us was getting their food 5 min after us. The waiter was nice but he was so slow and forgot everything we asked him. When we arrived, no one came for 15 min. I had to walk up to the host to get a waiter. I wonder they did that on purpose because we are not white which is the majority of the guests there. We kept on asking for food but food didnt come for 1.5 hrs. Is it possible that they were really busy and backed up? I didn't see anyone else complaining. It's expensive but The food is great and we were looking forward to going back there. But We really regretted going back there last night. It was a rather sad experience....
Great food good atmospere That was last year just went 8/15/20 service took a nose dive couldn't get a drink cause waiter had friends eating he was actually sitting with. Food came later and was cold appetizer dishes were removed by us. The snow crab claws were actually Jonas crab claws huge difference.
Small portions but yummy and expensive. Service needs help. Steamers were great but too small of a portion. Overall, good to try once. Lacks kids menu.
Passable food at insane prices: around $40 for 3 fish tacos or chicken parm. Nice sunset view, nice waiters, but better off buying a pizza and sitting on a bench at the dock.

I've been to Le Dock no less than 20 times. Since Jean George took over the food has gone down hill (And I love The Mark & Nougatine). They no longer serve lunch, removed everything from the kids menu aside from Pasta w butter and employ Brooklynite Millenials (Especially behind the bar) with snarky responses to basic drink orders. Huge disappointment. They're the only game in town in an otherwise amazing place (Fair Harbor). Terrible.
Denise the host was extremely rude for no reason. staff is terrible and servers need guidance on hospitality. good location if ur willing to put up with rude people and average tasting food.
Call the head asking if pets were acceptable new we're coming for an early dinner didn't think to ask about reservations arrived at 5 PM needed a table for 3. The waitress was cold as a cucumber. Let us know that if we were to sit at a table we needed to be out at in 45 minutes. We had such an unfriendly feeling we wouldn't order drinks.
Food: AWFUL! The calamari was thin, clearly made from frozen fish (that was maybe even in the freezer for few years prior to serving). The tuna actually tasted like mush and was on a bed of guac that tasted like it was from a pre-packaged guac jar. Mezze platter was just hummus (from can) and baba ghanouj (just mashed eggplant, no spices). Service: he was extremely charming, but rather than show us a menu and be price transparent, claimed there wasn't one. Ended up being pushed into an overpriced bottle of wine ($56 for a cheap rose) and unwittingly ordered an exorbitant glass of Sancerre ($18...what is this, Manhattan). The total check was $165 + tip (for 3 apps & the wine). For comparison, 3 delicious entrees and 3 mind-blowing apps + a bottle of Sauv Blanc at Rachel's in Ocean Beach was $170...
Made reservations at Le dock it said it was open until 10 PM. Walked a half an hour from our house in Robins Rest. Originally made a reservation on Google reservations for 7 o’clock but when I changed it, 5 minutes later, to add two more people,it wouldn’t give me anything until 8 PM. Got there at 8 PM and they wouldn’t seat us. Love the food, but if they close at 8, they should say that, we would have gone to ocean beach to eat that night. Super super disappointed but not surprised!!!
Every year we try the restaurant and every year it’s terrible. This year we ordered the linguine with little neck clams. Not only were they not little neck clams, but they were too chewy to eat. Service is lacking, young kids with no experience. Unfortunately it’s the only restaurant in the little town so they continue to stay in business.
I will never eat here ever again. In short, I found a hair in my pasta, and the manager initially refused to take it off the check. I also had a grilled mahi far worse than any frozen microwaveable meal, all for a whopping 100$. My girlfriend ordered the penne alla vodka with chicken. 29$. She had two bites before finding a short wiry hair in it. The manager argued that he wouldn’t take it off the check because no one in the kitchen had short blonde hair. He said that if it was a black hair, he would comp the dish. He then tried to argue that it was my girlfriends hair in the dish. Her hair, although blonde, goes below her shoulders. This hair was barely over an inch. After telling this to him, he said he still couldn’t comp it because he didn’t know where the hair came from. I actually had to ask him if it was ok to serve a dish with a random hair in it. After this, he finally took it off the check. Which still left me with a 70$ check for 2 bites of food. Now, on the subject of the grilled mahi, with lobster rice and waffle vegetables. The fish itself was so dry and bland, it made the 3 week old filet o fish from under my couch look good. The “lobster rice” literally had no lobster. And was somehow nearly as dry and bland as the fish. The table next to me also ordered two grilled mahis, and they took fewer bites than I did. When they asked why there was no lobster in the rice, the servers responded that it was there, “it’s just a tiny bit so you can’t see it.” On top of all that, while there was nothing “wrong” with the waffle vegetables, like the rice and the fish, it sucked. All for a grand total of 33$. In total, including my coffee, an aperol spritz, and a small salad (for 13$), the check came out to 99$. After the pasta was comped, the total came out to 68$. 68$ for approximately 6 bites of food. I really can not recommend this place enough if you are trying to starve yourself or eat food worse blander than the cardboard box I’ll find myself sleeping in if I continue to eat here.
I’ve been coming to Fair Harbor for 30 years This incarnation of Le Dock is terrible! Bad food-no other way to put it. The Greek salad was a soggy mess, The monk fish overdone and tasteless. I went in early July and have not heard anything positive about this place Hoping for a change next year.
Really disappointed with this place and had such high hopes given the look of the place and the clientele that you would expect they would want to cater to. We went with a party of 8, reserved in advance. It was our friends’ first time in fire island and we thought it would be nice to go out for a nice meal, this is not the place. Generally the food was lackluster, no one at the table really enjoyed the meal. One friend ordered the lobster roll which was really just a buttered roll with 2 tablespoons of lobster. If it’s a matter of pricing, don’t have it on the menu if you can’t provide a legitimate amount of meat. The salmon was fine, overcooked, in my opinion. The folks that got burgers were not impressed. The calamari did not appear to actually be calamari and instead were probably the pig rectum The NY Times spoke about. Service was lacking. One of the party asked for Parmesan and got it when they were basically done eating. We had to chase the waiter down for the check to leave. There are better options if you have time to go to Kismet, like the Dive. Would not recommend this place.
I would give zero stores if I could, but then I have no way of telling you that this place is awful. The sushi platter was a joke. The fried calamari terrible. The Caesar salad totally subpar.
