Song Dumpling Cafe Forest Hills Reviews
Don’t know why people observe the little things and not the bigger things like good food and really good prices last week there was a lot of snow. Of course the floor is going be dirty. It’s dirty everywhere. At the end of it all, I sat on a clean table and ate good food at a good price. What more can you ask for? You want fine dining well I guess you have to go to another place.
Just got takeout from Song Dumpling Cafe for the 1st time and it was amazing. The dumplings are the perfect texture and pan fried without being greasy. I will be back and I highly recommend!

As I entered the cozy dumpling restaurant, the aroma of freshly cooked dumplings wafted through the air, instantly making my mouth water. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The menu offered a wide variety of dumplings, from traditional pork and cabbage to unique and creative fillings like shrimp and chive or mushroom and truffle. Each dumpling was expertly crafted, with thin, delicate wrappers that perfectly encapsulated the flavorful fillings. I couldn't resist ordering a few different types of dumplings to sample, and I was not disappointed. Each bite was a burst of savory goodness, with the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The dipping sauces provided a delicious complement to the dumplings, enhancing their already amazing taste. The attention to detail and care put into each dumpling was evident in every bite. It was clear that the chefs took pride in their craft and were dedicated to creating the best dumplings possible for their customers. Overall, my experience at the dumpling restaurant was truly exceptional. The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I will definitely be returning to this gem of a restaurant to indulge in more of their delectable dumplings. If you're a fan of dumplings, this place is a must-visit.
The dumplings are really good! We got pan-fried shrimp and pork (which was very flavorful) and chicken (not as flavorful as the pork and shrimp but still very good). The staff was very friendly. Was a little disappointed that they didn't have chili oil. The soy sauce that comes with the dumplings is really good, tho!! (Light and sweet)
We’ve discovered this place during the beginning of the pandemic and have been regular customers since. We love every dish they offer (we tried almost everything on the menu). The favorites are their soups, Japanese dumplings and soup dumplings. All delicious! The place is clean and cozy and staff very pleasant and accommodating. Highly recommended!
None assuming place with great dumplings. The dumplings taste good alone but with the different sauces they pop. Something as simple as soy sauce brought out the flavor without overwhelming the dumplings. The perfect bite is a lil soy with a lil heat. Definitely going back. So I went back. The empty plate should have been the scallion pancakes… definitely get them.
Despite there only being one person working when I went. Service was fast! Great dumplings and great service. The BBQ beef dumplings are a must have. Very flavorful and fresh! Didn’t get to take a picture at the beginning cause of how great it smelled but here’s one about 4 minutes in! Look forward to coming again.
We got the pan fried lemongrass chicken and pork with Chinese celery. The filling inside was ok. I couldn’t tell the difference between the pork and chicken to be honest. I could only tell one was chicken because of the lemon taste. We also got the roast pork noodle soup. The noodles were good, nice and bouncy with a good chew. The roast pork was a little too fatty. It was filling at a reasonable price. Make sure if you want to tip on the credit card tell them before they ring you up.
I remember when this place was first open. It was so nice and clean and the woman there seemed more willing and helpfull..its been a while since I sat there ..I dont know what happened, but the place is dirty , the bathroom was worse.. I wish business owners didn't get so sloppy and not care anymore..on a positive note food was consistent in flavor ,always love the dumplings here .. but I dont think ill go back to eat in the restaurant!
Was excited to try this place due to the reviews and it seemed busy inside. I ordered the pork bun and a split order of the chicken basil dumplings and the pork shrimp dumplings. I wanted the Japanese chicken but they were sold out. The pork bun had a good inside flavor but the bun itself was…how do I explain, thawed out flavor taste to it. Didn’t really have that sponge texture. The pork and shrimp were not my favorite. Kinda lacking in flavor. The chicken and basil on the other hand was delicious. That’s why it’s getting a 3 star. But other than that, this place it just your average dumpling. The prices are okay too.
I love this place but I feel like they cheap out especially if you order one thing to go. I ordered a wonton soup because I’m feeling a bit under the weather (I didn’t check to see inside before I left) and when I got home only half the soup container was full. Last time I ordered it was full and we ordered so much stuff. Also what’s with the half opened labubus in the front? (Sadly didn’t take a photo of the soup)
I asked over the phone do they take card or apple pay payments the guy said yes and mind you i asked 3 different times just to be sure and each time he said yes. I get there to pay for the order just for him to ask if i had the physical card cause he cant do tap mind u he has the machine to tap ur phone or card n then proceeded to like and say he didn’t hear me correctly over the phone. Keep in mind i said it slow as hell 3 times before coming there to pay for the food.
