Sweetgreen Forest Hills Reviews
Amazing, healthy fast food! High quality and tasty, and the service was great as well! Will be coming back
Came in tonight and the service / team was amazing!
Excellent quality food and service and generous portions and fair prices. The manager Edward and the team are outstanding.
First time coming to sweet green the service was exceptional and fast.Renee is one of the most professional supervisors I’ve had the pleasure of serving me in any establishment.
It was really busy and they still kept the energy up, food was really good and good portions
Beautiful location, friendly people and great tasting food! Highly recommend the Harvest bowl!
The customer service was excellent and Edward was extremely kind. Will definitely come back.
The staff is friendly, genuine and helpful. the food is fresh and tasty esp. compared to other similar fast casual and or salad stores. The FH themed design is kitschy in a pleasant way.
I loved my experience at this sweet greens. Sylvia was very nice and patient with me because it my first time being there
Ordering on Ubereats for pickup/delivery, I will admit the portion size is smaller than what they serve you in person. That’s why I go in person. Nonetheless it’s delicious, fresh, and the staff are very nice
Everything was delicious and fresh; great service too especially from Yurie!
Contrary to everyone’s review, this crew here is kind, and attentive. The food is fresh, and served well. I wasn’t a fan of sweetgreen till now. t’s clear that these are new peeps, but they’ll get the hang of it quickly.
I love sweetgreens and I was so happy when they opened in Forest hills, I usually get the harvest bowl but all are great, the service is great the last time I went was yesterday and George helped w my order and he was so nice. I will be a loyal customer there
My new go to place. The food was delicious. My friend and I had the best and pleasure being service by Mauro and Edward. They are extremely friendly and welcoming. Looking forward in returning. Highly recommend
I’ve been waiting forever for Sweetgreen to come to Forest Hills and it’s finally here! I’ve eaten here every day since it opened. Everything’s super fresh, the team’s very friendly, and the upstairs seating is nice. Honestly, it’s exactly the type of healthy option that Austin St needed and I’m obsessed!
Super excited for the Forest Hills sweetgreen location to open up! Great customer service and generous portions. Overall, great addition to the neighborhood!
I had an incredible experience at Sweetgreen! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every ingredient tasted clean and high quality. I especially loved the custom bowl I built; the balance of textures and seasoning was perfect. What really made the visit stand out, though, was Edward’s outstanding service. He was friendly, patient, and went above and beyond to make sure my order was just right. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality made the experience feel personal and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back — great food, great vibes, and top-tier service. Thanks again, Edward!
I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good healthy place to eat. All the workers were so friendly especially Edward. He took my order with a big smile and made me feel welcome. Food was great. I took the steak salad bowl. The steak was phenomenal and juicy. Once again it’s a great place to stop by and get something to eat.
i had the pleasure of visiting the new sweetgreen today! The Staff was so kind & warm! The food was outstanding & fresh and carefully prepared despite any rush! The chicken in my harvest bowl was so juicy & all the veggies are so fresh! Im happy to see a new healthy & delicious food spot in forest hills!
Love this place!!! Workers are so friendly, food is always so fresh and delicious. The worker Sylvia always makes the salads amazing!!
So glad my favorite lunchtime salad chain in the city is now close to home! Delicious, fresh ingredients, especially the Green Goddess dressing which is hands down my favorite. Use the app to order ahead and also get points toward freebies. Staff is so friendly and helpful, special nod to Renee who took great care with questions about my order. Can't recommended this place enough if you are a fan of create-your-own bowl and salad options.
The atmosphere is amazing and vibrant. I was recommended the Korean Barbecue Plate by Thiago who was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was so tasty and I left satisfied. This was my first Sweetgreen experience, I can say that I am thoroughly impressed and I will be coming back for more.
I had a great time at this sweetgreen! This was my first time trying a bowl and I thought the korean BBQ steak bowl was delicious. The staff that helped me were super friendly and I would definitely go back to try something else.
This store just opened …. Give it some time for the business to become flawless ..Yes they had a rough start but that’s what will push them to be better. Nothing is perfect at first . I guarantee you as time goes by this store will be A1 spot on . I can humbly say even as of right now they are doing better than when they just opened . They are just catching their flow . Trials and errors are inevitable . And if people really do feel a way they can discuss it with a manager instead of instantly complaining as if they just walked into a 6 star Beverly Hills fine dining restaurant… anyways don’t sleep on this spot . This spot has great potential.
The miso salmon was delicious!! Edwin the the Forest Hills was so helpful and professional. THANK YOU EDWIN!!
Yes, the portions are tiny. It sucks, but that's the reality of living in New York in 2025... The staff, however, make up for it with their energy, kindness, and friendly demeanor. I didn't catch her name, but the woman who helped me this afternoon was a ray of sunshine. Location was clean and the staff working the kitchen all seemed to enjoy each other's presence, while running like a well oiled machine. I'll order in-store from now on, when I can!
It was my first visit and the salad was DELICIOUS. Server Nehemiah was very courteous and exemplified Excellent Customer Service. I would definitely recommend this location .
12/3/25 update: I got a pickup custom bowl today and was extremely pleased. It seems like the portions got bigger? Not sure if it’s my imagination but the bowl was FULL of all the ingredients I asked for, and so delicious. It was $22 incl tax and while normally I’d say that’s so much money for lunch - in this case I’d say this was well worth it for the portions and quality of the ingredients. I had paused coming to SG for a while because it seemed like the portions were small and I’d have to ask for more chicken on the line; but today I did pickup and was very pleased to see that they didn’t skimp out on portions of chicken nor any of the ingredients. I do wish SG had more vegan cheese/dairy-free options for dressings. I’m not vegan but I can’t do dairy, so I often end up defaulting to pesto vinaigrette which is delish but wish more options. (I also don’t do spicy). Overall very happy with today’s lunch and now encouraged to come back more often again! Old original review: So happy SG is finally in our neighborhood! Although it’s not cheap at all, compared to the many options in our neighborhood for takeout, I actually consider it very cheap considering the quality of ingredients and the fact it’s much healthier than lots of options around. $20 for a salad/bowl is not cheap, but often when I do takeout around here it’s easily $30+ per person and usually it’s not a healthy food option. I love how friendly the staff are here and how beautiful it is inside!
They actually have plenty of options on the menu. The food is decent kind of like Chipotle, but a little bit better, especially for salads. Overall, it’s a good spot for a quick, healthy meal

I’ve been here twice and Edwin has serviced me for guacamole greens. He’s super professional, amazing work etiquette and patient. I don’t know much about sweetgreen but he informed me the upcoming promos etc and even told me about the app rewards. I highly suggest some city stores to come to this store for training of customer service and patience. We all don’t know the ingredients, lingo if you will and instead of being annoyed Edwin was extremely patient and professional with me. I certainly will come back when in forest hills area.
Renee everyone calls her the sweetie of sweet green she is amazing! everyone always asks for her to make their food she adds love to them that’s why they taste so good

I love they opened a sweet green in the area close to home. I don’t have to bring home. The individuals are kind
Food was good, portion size needs some attention considering the prices🤷🏻♂️
The place is OK though but we need extra protein. You guys said you’re gonna do extra protein now please do and please make sure you guys have that hot honey chicken please and the chips and drinks a lot of drinks please.
I am giving 4 stars because the food in the past has been fresh, flavorful and the portion size ample...But a WARNING!!...Went in with my brother tonight and we walked out because you are NOT sufficiently staffed up front...3 people in front of us and after 20 minutes we opted to leave and get a delicious Poke Bowl...You should be better staffed for the weekday dinner crowd...People work.all day and want to get home!!...Also, don't forget about people in your establishment because your prioritizing online orders...If this happens again I will post a 2 star review, be forewarned!!
I was so excited to see Sweetgreen open in Forest Hills! I’ve visited their FiDi location before and always received excellent service, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, my experience here wasn’t quite the same. The service felt slow and a bit disengaged, and the second-floor dining area could use a little more attention. I’ll definitely give it another try on a different day and hope to see the same great service I’ve come to expect from Sweetgreen.

Edit: October 2025 Their service has improved so much, including pickup! Changing my rating as the pickup service is now so much better. ________________________ July 2025 I have ordered three times so far: First time: Pickup orders were missing protein and several added ingredients. Second time: Pickup order was missing an entire bowl. Ordered them mixed-in, dressing came on the side. Third: Ordered in person, slow service but good ingredients. Happy to have a sweetgreen in Queens, but the pickup/online order staff may need to pay more attention to detail. I recommend ordering in person since pickup and takeout sections need more training.
Great food but extremely slow service. Been a few times since it’s opened and it’s been slow every time. Not like other sweetgreens in the city
I like sweetgreen and very excited about them opening in Forest Hills. But this location desperately needs an experienced store manager. Long lines and wrong orders (including mine of shroomami bowl without mushrooms - somehow!) are mainly caused by 1) Staff not knowing the menu 2) there are 2 registers, but only one is being used. One of the 2 guys at the register was just holding paper bags and cluelessly staring at another guy 3) create a system of labeling of what is in the bowl, so the guy at the register doesn’t have to guess or keep asking is there were any extras (chopt has a paper sheet - works great; or can just write on the paper lid that sweetgreen has with a marker). Good luck! Hope this was just a tough first week and the store will learn and improve.
I've been to Sweetgreen a bunch, but this location needs some serious organized help, especially since it just reopened. I pre-ordered the Miso Glazed Salmon bowl for pickup, and let me tell you, the salmon was bland, dry, and overcooked. It tasted awful. And the bowl was like, half-full. 😫 Then I figured, let me just order in person the next time. I got the Garlic Steak bowl, and it wasn't even warmed up. The rice was hard, and the sweet potatoes tasted weird. The plate was alright, but I've definitely had better. Plus, there were only a few people in front of me, but it took like 15 minutes just to start my order. Then another 10 minutes to make it and pay. The employees looked totally confused. Also, why wear gloves if you're gonna yawn and cough all over them without changing them? Gross. 🤮
I ordered a salad with the dressing on the side. When I got home, the dressing was missing, not inside the bowl or on the side.

Online order - I paid for additional items in my salad and did not receive them. I am not sure if the employee preparing the salad forgot or if the store ran out of the items. If the store ran out, they should have at least contacted me to inquire about substitutions and refund part of my payment.
bags going out for uber eats or door dash should be sealed!! you all are handling food over to people without it being sealed and that’s not ok!
I wrote a review on the Sweetgreen located on Greenpoint Ave in Brooklyn back in December 2024. That location doesn't have the food out in the front by the counter. You have to order it on the touchscreen monitor, and then the employees bring it out to you, so you can't see if the food looks fresh or not before you place your order, and unfortunately, my food was not fresh the steak and some of the other ingredients were dried. I decided to give Sweetgreen another try at the new Austin Street location. I ordered the Harvest Bowl and substituted the chicken for steak, and the steak felt as if I were chewing on a piece of leather🤔, the kale (which they gave me alot of, that I didn't want) felt like I was chewing plastic strips, I really hope Sweetgreen can make the improvements they n3ed to staying business, I really want to eat healthy and I thought this was finally the place for me to eat healthy, also, some of the employees seemed a bit nervous and edgy, maybe it was because a lady who I think was the manager seemed a bit strick and condescending as she told one of the employees "you can't make a mess while your making the bowls", she just seemed like a difficult person to work with. I really hope that Sweetgreen can get it together so they can stick around for a while.
Ordered a harvest bowl via Uber Eats. The wild rice was so hard it hurt my teeth when I bit down. And I’m not sure if the meat that was put in the bowl was actually chicken or not. Pretty disappointing.
I was so excited when I saw that a Sweetgreen was opening in Forest Hills as it became a favorite of mine when I worked in downtown BK. Sadly, the food was not up to par. I ordered delivery and the lettuce was already browned and rotten in places and there was a scant amount of broccoli. I also asked for utensils that were not included. For a $20 salad this was not what I would expect or what I'd come to expect from Sweetgreen.
The restaurant is nice and good service. The portion was very poor, the plate even looked empty. I hope you can make adjustments to avoid other customers to be disappointed
The herbed quinoa is overly salty. I have tried it several times and its always salty.
First time at a Sweetgreens was Monday. I ordered the Harvest bowl. The bowl was almost $16. I usually take a picture but forgot for this. The chicken was portion size and small and it lacked flavor. I wasnt a fan of the wild rice. It was not soft enough for my liking. The goat cheese was the size of a scoop of ice cream and was more of that the chicken. It was enough Kale in the container that lasted me 3 days. For the price I expect it to have flavor and more protein. Maybe I give it another chance and customize a bowl.
It’s very clear that the employees are still learning and new. You should not have your entire customer facing team be so inexperienced, especially at a brand new location. Terrible first impression for me. My own order was messed up and had to be remade and I had to wait very long. Whoever is in charge of keeping items in stock is extremely inefficient as I’ve heard multiple customers on the long line be told several menu items are out of stock. This leads to even longer wait times. Reading the rest of these one star reviews, I’m really not surprised. Hope to see you take this feedback and make improvements soon.
This is my first review I think I’ve ever made and my service at this location was struggling so hard I feel it necessary. The whole team is unorganized you can see it as soon as you step up to the counter. I mean first off they don’t communicate at all my partner and I ordered the pesto chicken bowl and ended up with two different bowls because they would go to make one and see they were out of something and get frazzled and say they were out so I had to switch then literally right after they would get whatever it was back and then look all confused then my partner would get the thing they just said was out, like every other kitchen you should be able to ask your team for help and communicate on what you are low on. They also don’t communicate to each other what bowl they are passing on so I have to keep helping them the whole way to the point I see the person on the end get upset no one is telling him what he’s getting which is upsetting to the consumer. Then you go up stairs to eat and you have trash tower that no one’s cleaning. Definitely just needs some help great location just needs a little direction. Expect to wait long and not to have half the things you ordered haha.
I love Sweetgreen as a concept, but the lack of consistency between individual stores can be infuriating. This location, in particular, is the most poorly managed one I've ever come across. Online ordering frequently unavailable, especially during peak hours; they run out of key ingredients all the time; wait times for salads (especially during peak hours) can reach over an hour... while I respect and adore sweetgreen as a brand, especially with regard to the quality of their ingredients, they tend to fail when it comes to in-store customer experience. I understand that peak hour traffic can be difficult to manage, but this isn't an unsolvable problem - competitors like Just Salad seem to have figured it out and I worry that with the increased competition in the area sweetgreen simply won't survive with this poor level of service. Get a capable professional in here and save this place!
Quality of food is great, but my husband ordered a bowl for pick up and the plate wasn't even full. 20$ for half empty plate feels like a rip off
Sweetgreen has good menu. However today waited 50 minutes after my initial order in Uber ( pick up) came to pick up and had told staff i am picking up. They did explain they are short staffed which is fine but some guy who walked in complaining about the same issue saying he waiting fifteen minutes got his food before me maybe because he was more vocal about it. I had explained i am on my lunch hr.
Was super excited to see a sweet green opening up nearby. I had been raving about it to my husband but I was disappointed in the portions when we ordered delivery (I’m not sure if it’s better in the store). The portions for salads are decent but if you order anything else, expect some skimping. The most egregious are the kids meals, which are pretty much half empty. The mini mezze looked like someone ate it already and I got the leftovers.

Extremely busy, employees chatting amongst themselves. Line for pickups is longer than the actual line because there’s only 1 person packing them.
The portions are toddler size! For the price its unexceptable and I was extremely rushed through.
Staff are really unprofessional. They left customers, didn’t back long time. Start asking order then chatting for long with first customer. Really disappointed
Ordered a KBBQ bowl for delivery. Paid for avocado as add-on but it wasn’t included and the bowl was not tasty at all. The bigger problem is this $23 dinner gave me food poisoning. We were so happy to get SG in Forest Hills but avoid this location at all costs.
Weren’t here for the first time the service was OK same thing with the food but after a while of coming back, I got E. coli. This place doesn’t know the proper ingredients for certain bowls and salads if I could give this place negative stars I would. I will never be returning
Sweet green please do better, I just came from there. I ordered the Guacamole Greens bowl. They did not have any avocados and they guys said it will be a 10min wait. And he asked me if I would like to substitute it for something else as the wait will be long. So I asked for them to add goat cheese. And then after the Avocados came, he added it and then said it will be an extra charge. I did not ask him to add the avocado. I told him he can removed what will make it an extra charge . I had to literally argue with them over this, and it was not even my fault that you were out of avocados at that time.
Wish I could rate this -5 stars…. My order came half full just meat and rice… and in my boyfriend’s order, the carrots were unpeeled and dirty. This location needs to shut down immediately!!!!!!!!!!!! Or hire competent staff….
My husband was ignored just now waiting for his order. He was standing in line right at the counter but they took 3 the order of 3 people behind him. He’s 6 feet tall hard to miss, they acted like he was invisible
I feel obligated to leave a review after the horrible bowls we were presented with. Unpeeled dirty carrots, and a half empty bowl missing almost every single requested ingredient.
What kind of people are working here? I ordered 2 salmon bowls and NEITHER HAD SALMON ?! I tried calling but it is an automated machine. They literally robbed me. DO NOT GO HERE
Rude nasty people who yell at you if you try to use the bathroom before you place your order. Foods sucks anyways.
I ordered two bowls with salmon and they both came missing salmon!!!! Like two bowls of vegetables. BEYOND disappointed
I ate here a few months ago. I had a bad experience. I thought I would try this again. I walked out. Don't eat here. It still has issues months later. Terrible Service. Very rude workers and managers for no reason. Not spending my money here they don't deserve it. This place has 3.0 star rating for a reason. I won't eat at a place with that low of a rating. I never gave a 1 star to a restaurant till now. I won't be surprised if this place closes either. I will be spending my money elsewhere.
I ordered on Grubhub and was shocked when I opened the bowl. All of the upcharges such as the chicken and toppings like broccoli, corn and peppers, etc that I paid EXTRA for were such small portions. In another review someone called it toddler portions which is so accurate. I expected way more for a $22 bowl. Never again.
I am a longtime Sweetgreen fan, but this location has been a disappointment since opening. The staff rarely acknowledge customers waiting to order, often with their backs turned while prepping food. Orders are frequently delayed because employees seem unsure of ingredients or forget key components. One of my worst visits was when they ran out of grilled chicken—a menu staple. Freshly prepared chicken sat right in front of us, but instead of using it to fill backed-up orders, staff kept portioning it into containers while customers waited. It took my intervention to get it served, and the manager hadn’t even noticed. This location has huge potential, but without stronger management, faster turnaround, and better customer focus, it will continue to struggle. Corporate should spend less time sending generic review replies and more time fixing the issues on the ground.
Do not come here! The food is not fresh, cold, and overpriced. They even had Rice Krispie treats for sale that were almost two weeks past their “best by” date! Avoid this place!
As many of the other reviews have said, the portion sizes are ridiculous. Ordering a side of broccoli nets you exactly the amount shown in the image when ordering online. This is 100% corporate policy and the staff will not change unless you go in person and pressure them into adding more. Or leave a negative review, then they’ll throw you a coupon. Do not buy online. Employees are TOLD to skimp for pickup orders. Regarding the comment left by the owner, thank you for telling me to reach out to corporate. Oh a coupon, how generous.
I had the worst experience at this location the service is absolutely horrible. I came here to get a basic $15 chicken salad bowl not cheap right? At least the workers could be courteous. One of the workers on the food assembly line gave me such a hard time when choosing my toppings nitpicking every little thing. To the point where I had to speak to the managers. I also asked one of the workers if the chicken was white or dark meat and he's like it's "white meat with seasoning" only for me to find out later it was chicken thighs 😔 this showed me that the workers don't even know what white and dark meat means. I was not even offered compensation in any way! I no longer wanted my food but I still paid for it and left. I will never go back to this location.
Extremely disappointed with my Uber eats order from tonight. It should have been cancelled. I ordered the harvest bowl and it was missing nearly every mixin. The sweet potatoes, apples, goat cheese and almonds. It was an inedible bowl of kale. The bread that came was store-bought white bread, and the lid wasn't even on my bowl when it was delivered. I waited almost an hour and a half and I'm still fighting asking for a refund. I would not recommend this location.
Considering the fact it costs an arm and leg for a salad , taking a Hundred dollar bill should not be a problem! I asked for my sauce on the side and the guy was eager to ask if me asking for my 3 sauces on the side would be a UPCHARGE . It’s always something here and the scoop amounts are HORRIBLE !! Instead of waiting for me to get all the way up there and tell me they don’t accept hundred dollar bills is VERY ANNOYING AND MISLEADING, you need signs ! Will never be back again this is the second time also ! Always excuses and always soemthing about not having change .
Went here recently and they are awful the portions are small for the price you pay. They are incredibly disorganized. I was so mad when they forgot to make my bowl and saw how they quickly just threw whatever into my bowl. As someone who lives in the neighborhood I would never return. I was so excited for this place to open but what a disappointment it was. It seems like I’m not the only one that agrees with the poor service they were quick to receive under 3 stars overall.
Ordered pick up at 8:05, email recvd stating order was ready at 8:20. Showed up at 8:50 order wasn’t ready. Had to ask a few times, no line. Crew was eating McDonalds in front of me and joking. No one started my salads. Order wasn’t ready until 9:10, when I got home I realized it was missing my focaccia w hummus, and most of our add ons. Staff here is incompetent, ignorant and I can’t believe I spent 40 dollars to wait an hour more than quoted while the staff hung out and ate food in front of me and ignored me.
Very small portions for the $20 plate I paid for. Manager watching over workers shoulder, I'm sure to enforce how much portion was put in plate. They were so stingy in portions, you can come here if you want to feel robbed. Managers are not friendly. Managers acting like their only concern was to keep the line moving and portion control.
I went to pick up an Uber Eats order at this store. As soon as I arrived, I showed one of the employees handling the pick-up orders the name of the customer I was picking up for—both by showing it on the Uber app and by saying the customer's name. I could tell they were really busy, with long lines at the pick-up section and the in-store ordering counter, and about five employees working. After waiting for 20 minutes and seeing around 10 other people get called for their orders, I checked in again with the same employee I first spoke to. I asked if the order I was picking up would be ready soon, since I had accepted it 30 minutes ago and had already been waiting in-store for over 20 minutes. That’s when the employee told me to just cancel the order because they weren’t pushing any delivery app orders through. He said they were only completing in-store pick-up orders and weren’t going to fulfill any Uber or DoorDash orders due to being understaffed. Then he made an announcement to the other delivery drivers to cancel their orders too. I totally understand being busy and understaffed, but why not say that upfront? Why let people wait around for 20–30 minutes just to be told to cancel? If they’re not accepting delivery app orders, the store should just mark themselves as “closed” or “not accepting orders” on the Uber or DoorDash app. That way, customers don’t place orders that won’t be fulfilled, and drivers don’t waste their time.
Really poorly ran. Food marked as done in the app but missing ingredients in the store. Lack of customer care - latest order lacked the dressing.. routinely out of important ingredients like avocado, sweet potatoes, salmon etc. hard to recommend.
I remember Boston Market had way better service than sweet green. My wife put in a order on the app for pickup at 12:05 pm. My order was ready until 12:30pm for One Salad! And it wasn’t even a customized salad. This location prioritized food delivery & in person order. Do NOT preorder for pick up, complete waste of time. Boston Market please come back...this place is more like bitter green. Manager please hire more people to expedite the food service.
OUT OF ORDER signs on both bathrooms even though both were functioning without issue. I had to have my partner to ask for the code because the woman I asked was rude for no reason and refused to provide it. When I purchase food at a restaurant of that size I assume they are following the law and keeping at least one restroom functioning and not gatekeeping the code from people are being perfectly respectful. Unacceptable.
Just shut this location down until competent employees are found and hired, employee working on my salad seemed so confused about the ingredients in the autumn harvest bowl and at the end didn’t even toss the salad! Served it to me in parts like a poke bowl. I guess he himself has never eaten at a Sweetgreen.
my friend bought a salad bowl and sitting upstairs while i went down to buy a bottle of water. I asked the cashier for the code of the bathroom and she refused to give and said it is for customer only. i reminded her that i just bought this water bottle from sweetgreen and she was just charged me so how am i not a customer??? she rudely said it doesn’t mean i am a customer???? so i said ok let me ask my friend to bring the salad bowl down for her to see if we are customers or not . and then she rudely took me upstair and enter the code herself without telling me and rudely left??? this whole thing is very unnecessary and unacceptable.
This place was great the first few weeks it was open but now it is painfully slow. You put your order in more than an hour in advance and schedule for pick up, and the pickup time comes and goes and they haven't even started preparing it yet. My lunch break isn't long enough to eat here anymore if this keeps up.
I’ve had Sweetgreen many times in the city (Manhattan), so I was very excited to see this place open up in my neighborhood. A delicious healthy option. However, I was very disappointed. Ordered the caramelized steak protein plate and my wife ordered the harvest bowl. The steak was minimal at most, was not caramelized and broccoli looked like the leftovers from last night. Harvest bowl had about 4 pieces of chicken and they informed us that they had run out of goat cheese after they had already assembled the bowl. They want to charge Manhattan prices for tiny, incomplete portions. They are definitely not ready to be opened and if they continue like this won’t last.
I was really excited when Sweetgreen opened in Forest Hills. We ordered through Grubhub, but I was beyond disappointed. I always get the Chicken Pesto Parm. It’s my usual order, so of course I stuck with it. But when our food arrived, nothing looked or tasted right. The entire bowl was bland. The chicken didn’t even seem roasted. It looked and tasted like it had been steamed. The quinoa was completely flavorless even though it’s supposed to be herbed. And it was missing the breadcrumbs entirely. It honestly felt like the staff wasn’t familiar with how the bowl is supposed to be made. If you're not ready to open, don’t open. Train your employees. Season your food. I even brought the bowl back in person and asked for a replacement. They said no and claimed it looked fine to them. What they served me is something I’d give to my dog. Completely unseasoned and disappointing.
I have been waiting months for Sweetgreen to open in Forest hills. Everytime I've gone to one in the city, it's been great. My first time in this location and I'm already so disappointed. I got a diy protein bowl and the portion sizes were the tiniest I've ever seen. I paid close to $18 and my bowl was half empty. Every picture I've seen there was way more rice and protein. I'm super disappointed.
I was very excited that this sweetgreen opened nearby my place. However, my first order from this location was very disappointing. I placed an order for delivery which included two salads…one of them being the garden cobb. For the Cobb, I replaced chopped romaine (they were out) with baby spinach. I added chicken, replaced almonds with chickpeas, and requested caesar (2 portions) instead of balsamic vinaigrette. I expected all of the other ingredients to be included but the picture shows my very SAD salad with no hard boiled egg, avocado, sweet potatoes, tomatoes or blue cheese. I also only received one portion of Caesar instead of the two I requested. Again…very disappointed.

Wanted to address how the African American Lady Manager treated her employees. There is a way to speak to people and she was incredibly disrespectful while trying to keep a system of service in place. Instead of directing and giving clear orders, she delivered it in a way that was very condescending and you could tell the employees were uncomfortable as well as I was. I wasn’t even buying food as my girlfriend was the one ordering for herself. The Manager made a comment out loud that she was only checking temperatures on food only because she wanted to leave early and that seemed like it was the only thing she seemed to care about. If a manager doesn’t take care of its employees, I can only imagine how she treats customers, from which I saw, didn’t seem that much better either. Maybe Sweet Greens needs to re-evaluate the hiring process especially from a management view because her demeanor created a very awkward and non-encouraging atmosphere. Forest Hills Ny, is a very well off neighborhood and this Sweet Greens could use better direction to serve this location and its community. I felt incredibly empathetic towards the employees and you could tell on their faces how disheartened, confused, and frustrated they were. This location doesn’t need better employees, they need better leadership.
I walked in, no greeting, no one asked if they can take my order, once i got to the counter. Stood there a few minutes, it looked like a lady was going to come and assist, but she looked down, didn’t say one word, and walked away into the back area. Everyone else seemed to be prepping orders. I was the only customer in the place, not one word for assitance to place my order, so i walked out. This was about 7:00pm
I tried my best to support them, but the level of inconsistency, outages of main ingredients, and then only to be met by service people who don’t want to make the salads.. this location is why I sold my sweetgreen stock. The online ordering was down for over a month when they first opened.. now when I go in during lunch or dinner time I can smell the 7th street burger or chik fil a the workers bring in for themselves and I lose all desire to eat a salad from this place. I’ve since migrated over to JustSalad and couldn’t be happier. This location is ripe for the robot setup they use elsewhere, however it’s nowhere near as profitable as the other locations.
I have ordered food here both in person and via Uber Eats. Although the food is delicious, I have a major problem with the packaging quality. Both times I have had orders I took to go or through delivery. The lids do not close well enough and both times the lid has popped off and my food spills out into the bag. When I got my order today from delivery, half the food had spilled out. The food container had two stickers, but they did not hold, and the bag does not have a tamper free seal, it is just wide open. This needs to be better. I had to throw away my entire meal that I waited 45 minutes for because with half the food spilled out in an unsealed bag, I had no way of knowing if it was safe to eat, free of sneezes, and who knows what else. Seriously considering not eating here again, definitely not ordering it for delivery unless I can be assured the packaging can guarantee the food staying in the container. So hungry, crazy hangry...do better.
I’ve always loved Sweetgreen and have been a loyal customer for years, ordering both in person and online. It has consistently been one of my go-to places, and I was genuinely excited when this location opened. I usually order the Chicken Cauli Plate and customize the base to half rice and half kale. I’ve never had an issue with this at any Sweetgreen location including this one, until today. When I requested the same modification, the employee immediately told me she was the manager and said they would not do it. She didn’t offer any alternatives such as paying extra or building my own bowl, options that other locations have always provided. Because of her attitude and unwillingness to help, I ended up not placing my order. It was disappointing and felt like customer loyalty wasn’t valued. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future customers.

As a first-time customer, at the Forest Hills location. I found the menu somewhat confusing and decided to order a salad that I saw displayed, which looked appealing. I waited patiently in line until a young employee (Justine) behind the counter asked, “Who’s next?” I politely indicated that I was next and asked her about the salad I was interested in and its ingredients. She explained the ingredients and began preparing what I believed was my order. However, without any explanation or acknowledgment, she walked away and began assisting others, effectively ignoring me. When I asked why she had walked away, she responded curtly that she “had things to do.” I was then left waiting again until another employee asked, “Who’s next?” This interaction was disappointing and made me feel dismissed and uncomfortable, especially as a first-time customer trying to understand the menu and ordering process. We all expect a basic level of courtesy and communication when ordering food, and unfortunately, that wasn’t the case during this visit. Every customer deserves a level of respect. Especially when they are paying for a service. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve customer service going forward.
