My family and I stopped here for lunch and everything was perfect From the staff to the cleanliness and the food was seasoned perfect large portions definitely get your money worth for what you’re paying. Definitely recommend Liz as well she such a great waitress her attitude was super good and she had such great customer service. Ask for Liz to be your server she’s so sweet

Excellent food! I just went with some friends and thought the queso was some of the best we’ve had. Margaritas were delicious as well. The meals are really well balanced. We’ll definitely be back even though we are 1.5 hours away.

Visited on a Saturday evening and the experience was great. My server, Devin, was attentive and courteous. The bartender, Vanessa, made me a Mexican martini that had me drooling. the greeter and the front of house supervisor were extremely welcoming. Great job 👏!

I came for some menudo and had some trouble with my tire a latin lady didn’t get her name but she was quick to help me and my husband out with our issue spent more than 5 hrs outside and she gave us water and i ran out of water for my baby’s bottle and helped me out with getting me a bottle of water for my babys milk highly recommend nice staff super nice people ended up getting hungry and ordering more food for me and my kids very delicious too!

Chips and salsa are always fresh and amazing. Queso is awesome and I live for their chicken tortilla soup, it’s the best I’ve ever had anywhere!

Rio Lerma is that hidden gem you didn’t know you needed in your life! The food? Always hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I’ve never had a dish here that didn’t hit the spotbut let’s talk about the real star of the show - the drinks. Whew! 🍹 They do not play when it comes to their margaritas. Strong, smooth, and exactly what you need after a long week (or day 😅). The vibe is relaxed but upbeat, the service is friendly, and everything from chips & salsa to entrees comes out fast and right. This is the best kept secret in Forney. I was so surprised to find authentic Mexican food in this little town. This was my first visit to Rio Lerma. There were many appealing choices on the menu but I finally settled on the Brisket Enchiladas. I was intrigued by the description which included "mashed potato enchiladas." I've never heard of that before. The dish was really quite lovely, with the mashed potatoes wrapped in tortillas, creamy poblano sauce and a pile of brisket sautéed with onions and mushrooms on top of it all. Delicious! and certainly unlike anything I have ever had before.

The food is always great, and service as well. Try the shrimp cocktail. Best in Forney.

My husband and I have been looking for a place with good margaritas and good food in this area and today we found it! I ordered a raspberry frozen margarita and he ordered a strawberry frozen margarita and both were excellent! We order food to go and it was great as well. A bit pricey for lunch compared to what we were use to but I am positive they have a happy hour time. We will return soon!!

I ate here on Wednesday night and the food was amazing. Even with what appeared to be a somewhat full restaurant the staff was extremely welcoming, and fast. My food and drinks came out soon after placing the order. I ordered the Hugo enchiladas (10/10) and my daughter got the crunchy tacos. She enjoyed them and took her leftovers for lunch the next day. I run a networking group that meets at Rio Lerma every Tuesday. And needless to say, that wouldn't be possible without fantastic service and excellent food. Jesse and his team are always on top of things and are very accommodating. And I don't know the chef by name, but whoever puts together my weekly Maria's salad does a great job too. :)

First time here. Many times we look for restaurants where we can eat outside on a patio etc. so we can have our dog with us and not left in the car. Rio Lerma did not disappoint. Staff was very accommodating and the service was prompt. Now for the food. Fresh, tasty, and ample servings. I had chicken tortilla soup. Wow! Packed with chicken! Large bowl. I couldn’t finish it all. Ordered a side of beef fajita meat without seasoning or onions, for my pup. We dug in and forgot to take photos of our dishes. Therefore I’ll share a picture of my sweet dog while we sat outside.

Came in for some drinks only heard this place had some good margaritas. Wasn't disappointed they have to be one of the few I've ever had that you can actually taste the liquor. I had the beerita and my wife the sangria margarita both were awesome. We did try the ceviche and was pretty good . We'll need to come back and try the food I'm sure it's just as great. Highly recommend this place . Update 1/5/24 we've been coming back since and really love the food here my to go plates are either the ceviche or the veggies enchiladas definitely recommend the place

This was my first time coming here and I have to say it was amazing. Let me give you a Bigg Robb breakdown as of why! Atmosphere 5/5: The place looks really cozy and makes you feel comfortable. Everything was clean, even the bathroom was really nice. There is plenty of space between tables so even when it's full, it doesnt feel so crowded. Service 5/5: When we went, we had a server by the name of Ana and she was absolutely amazing. She was fun to talked to and got along with everyone at the table. I would always ask for her when you come here. Food 5/5: The food was very good. I had a chicken fajita for one and it was a lot of food. The chicken was great and the queso was unique and spicy. The beans and rice were actually good compared to most Tex-Mex places. Overall rating 5/5: This place is all around great and I would really recommend that people try it if they haven't. I will definitely be coming back here!

I had brisket tacos. 2 tacos on flourr with rice and beans. I have to say the little cup of green sauce on the side was amazing. The rest of the food was just OK kind of bland. Our waitress was great for our party of ten.. Too pricey for the quality and qaunity.

First time visiting, this is a popular spot. There was a slight wait, about 15-20 mins. The Hostess was polite. Our waiter, Dane, was very good and helpful. I had the Chicken Enchiladas con Huevos with the sour cream sauce and the egg was cooked/fried perfectly, runny yolk with the egg white cooked. The chicken in the Enchiladas were moist not dry like I've had at others. The flavor of the chicken mixed with the sour cream sauce and egg was very good. I also liked the rice but the beans were ok, even though I am not a bean person, I did have to add a little bit of salt. For dessert we had the churros and OMG they were delish!! They had a chocolate filling or it may have been hazelnut but the flavor was amazing, the cinnamon and sugar mixed with a great soft crunch and then topped with whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle it was great!

Really love this spot, they have great margaritas! The brisket tacos are my favorite thing to order. The service is hit or miss but it is well worth a try. They do offer a spicy(er) salsa that you can request for the table but it is served warm (not unheard of) but it is overpowering of bullion flavor. That is probably the only item I have received I was disappointed in. Overall I still love this location!

The service rating is not the wait staff, they are awesome❣️❣️ It's the Chef because every time we get the Shrimp Cocktail dinning in OR to go the ratio shrimp to sauce varies. 5 Out of 8 were perfect❣️ 2 Were heavy on the sauce & 1 short on the shrimp. We’ve become regulars here since moving to the area but that has changed as of tonight. I had the Hugo enchiladas and found a stick, a literal piece of wood, in my enchilada. I showed the waitress and she said it was seasoning…. I asked what kind but she just kept saying it was seasoning. She took the stick back near the bar where about 5 other employees looked at it and obviously didn’t know what it was. When the waitress came back I asked again and she said the same thing. Then the manager came out with a tub of bay leaves and told me thats what it was. I cook with bay leaves and have never seen a wooden stem on them, yet she insulted my intelligence and refused to acknowledge the error. No discount was offered, no apology was made. They wouldn’t even give me back the stick so I could take a picture. They could have easily apologized, admitted the error but they did nothing. The right thing to do would have been to comp my meal along with the above actions. I could have choked or been injured and that may still happen to someone else since they aren’t concerned at all. I’m actually in shock. I won’t be back and I don’t recommend.

Went there for a birthday party and had reservations for 25 at 2pm. We had to sit and wait 30 minutes before they seated us. Same thing happened last year when we made reservations. We were told this would not happen again last year, yet it was repeated. They continued to seat people knowing we had reservations. I have NO desire to go back. The food is sub par.

Very disappointed as I am a regular here. I came on a Wednesday just for margaritas. I was unaware, but they have a special that if you buy a meal, you can get up to two margaritas for one dollar. I wasn’t hungry, but my fiancé decided he was. So we were like OK we’ll get margaritas and we’ll just pay full price for my margaritas. He had gotten quesadillas. I took a piece of his quesadilla and the waiter had even brought us an extra plate and she saw I took a piece. But not once was it mentioned that because he gave me a piece of food that the deal was null and void. I didn’t feel that this was fair as the waiter never explained that to us, but continued to offer us more drinks and bring out plates to share the food. If she had mentioned that if we shared food it would void it, we would’ve stuck with our original plan to just drink. The manager was brought over and she was very unsympathetic, unapologetic, and very unwilling to hear our sides of the story. The waiter also LIED and said she told us, but it was never once mentioned. I would've appreciated if the manager would’ve been apologetic, listened, and explained the deal to us, but it never was. She was just very rude, and condescending.

I went up to the restaurant and ordered 2 beef fajita nachos. When I got home, I opened them up and they were both chicken. Yea they offered to remake them but I'm tired and worked all day in the heat so I just demanded a refund. I will have to go to sleep hungry tonight.

Not the Best First Impression I’m not one to usually write reviews, but I felt like I had to share my experience. It was my first time visiting, and at first, the atmosphere seemed good. I like to observe what's going on around me, and something caught my attention that didn’t sit right. I noticed a manager tell one of the ladies who was sweeping to stop and take chips to a table. Not only that, but the way the manager spoke to her was completely unacceptable—rude and demeaning. The manager then stood there watching her as she delivered the chips, which felt unnecessary and controlling. Things got worse when I noticed managers hovering around tables where guests had left cash tips. I asked about it, and they told me that the managers have a policy where "whoever gets the tip keeps it," and if a manager picks it up, it's split. That doesn’t seem fair at all and feels incredibly unprofessional. To be clear, the waitresses were great—very nice and attentive—but the way management handles things ruined the experience for me. Because of that, I won’t be returning.
