We had the most wonderful Sunday brunch last week at Hill Country Herb Garden. Despite being crazy busy and understaffed, Fernando offered top notch service at the bar, so great that we decided to park it there in lieu of waiting for a table. He made excellent recommendations for our food, and he also offered suggestions of where else to visit while we were in town. And, he made the BEST espresso martini I've ever had (which says a lot, because I've had a good many). Don't miss the burrata and the fried green tomato BLT.

Stayed here for my 40th birthday. The cabin was very clean, the beds extremely comfortable. They delivered breakfast every morning in a basket! It’s a charming place!! It’s not within walking distance to Main Street but is a 3 min drive. The location is perfect! We loved our stay and will definitely stay here again!

This hotel is beautiful, quaint, and serene! It was the perfect place to stay with my husband for our anniversary trip. We enjoyed the breakfast baskets- the food was delicious! And it was so nice to eat outside on the porch each morning. The location of the hotel is a close drive to Main Street, and the staff are very nice. We enjoyed our stay!

This was our first getaway together and our first time In Fredericksburg. The Hill Country Herb Garden was absolutely sensational!! The room we stayed in was amazing! We needed help finding the Garden House since it was our first time there and we stopped in at the spa to get directions. Emily was so helpful and friendly, getting us a map of the grounds and giving amazing directions to help us find our way! Later that night we ate at the restaurant and it was steak night so we ordered our meals and were able to try some of the delicious cocktails offered on the menu. Our waiter, Fernando, was also super friendly and helpful and was able to make a drink for me that wasn’t on the menu and it was fantastic! We had such a great stay while we were there. It was such a great experience that when we go back to Fredericksburg we will definitely stay at the Herb Garden again!!

Arrived during the week for a special occasion. The check-in was very convenient and easy. Our cottage, was in great condition and beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay! We will be back again for the full experience.

I really can't overstate how neat this property is. Beautifully landscaped and well appointed one bedroom cabins tucked alongside a fantastic restaurant with excellent food and attentive service and a spa. My wife and I did not partake in the spa, but the restaurant was superb. The room had everything we needed, and they even left us breakfast in a picnic basket on the front porch. Highly recommend. I honestly don't know why there aren't more places built utilizing this format. So great.

Herb Garden is an adorable place! The setting is tranquil with cottages, porch swings and relaxing decor. They have a wonderful small picnic basket breakfast waiting at your door in the morning and a wonderful restaurant. Herb Garden is a great place to stay while visiting the wineries in Fredericksburg.

I was initially going to stay at a chain hotel, but ended up doing good search and found this gem. This is an amazing family owned and operated establishment and truly made my solo trip the most amazing experience imaginable. I felt very safe while staying, the staff at the restaurant and spa were truly exceptional. I loved that reservation staff sent a text message to me for self check and what cottage number I was residing in. From the rooms, very modern, spacious, and my favorite the porch area. Very close to Main Street, Uber friendly and fast! I will definitely stay at this location again in the future! Thank you for any amazing visit and stay. Oh almost forgot in the mornings they ring you breakfast in a picnic basket super cute between 8-8:30 am with small OJ. Truly a very sweet and cute touch! Highly recommend!

Spent a few days in cabin 13. Zero issues. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The location is conveniently located in a neighborhood very close to downtown, so if waking up to a 10 mile view of the rolling hills is what you're after, look elsewhere. This is is a nice manicured area that is comfortable and quiet. You'd never know that you are in a neighborhood after walking around the grounds. We enjoyed sitting on the porch swing eating the contentental breakfast that was delivered to our door every morning. Be on the lookout for Sage the cat, the unofficial mascot. I was told that he lives across the street, but has adopted the place as his own. He's extremely friendly is always up guide you on a tour of the grounds for the small fee of few scratches behind the ears. We didn't eat at the restaurant or use the spa facilities, so I can't comment on those, but any staff member that we encountered greeted us and were very friendly. We've been to Fredericksburg many times and we will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

There's a great restaurant just a few steps away, a gift shop, and a luxurious spa! Great place for a wonderful weekend!

We loved our stay here! We had everything we needed and the cottages are absolutely adorable! The property is extremely charming and beautifully decorated. We had breakfast delivered every morning in a picnic basket to our door and housekeeping came in when we were gone during the day to make our bed.

A close friend recommended the Hill Country Herb Garden as a BnB in the Fredericksburg area. We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations and ambiance. We wanted to get away for our wedding anniversary and this was the perfect destination. Very convenient to Main Street in Fredericksburg, but not so close as to have any traffic or noise. The picnic basket breakfast was tasty each morning and a great way to start the day. For our first stay at a BnB, we were blessed and will be back soon!

We enjoyed our stay over labor day weekend. We stayed in the artist's retreat. It was a cozy room and perfect for our get-a-way as a couple. We enjoyed the morning breakfast that was delivered each morning and the close location to downtown Fredericksburg! We are hoping to return again soon!

I highly recommend staying here. We took my parents for their 50th anniversary and had a great time. The place is beautiful and the Garden house is amazing. Plenty of room for multiple couples! 3 full bathrooms is a truly appreciated accommodation.

Update: after seeing the reply from Hill County I emailed them and have not heard back. Don’t know why they would ask for me to reach out if they are not going to reply. This is a cute a relaxing place. Room was clean and property well maintained. However they forgot the main reason people come here. That is for a place to sleep. Our refrigerator sounds like it’s making ice every 20 mins all night long. The old fashioned in wall AC is loud and outdated. One of the other keep us up all night. I really wanted to like this place.

We stayed one night in cottage #2. Good: Easy parking, comfortable king-sized bed, front porch swing, cat, quick drive into Fredericksburg, and all the signage for the plants within the garden. So-so: interior space is odd - feels a little bit like a small room within a warehouse - undersized furniture, an oversized tv that dominates, and a bathroom sink that is weirdly high. Not-so-good: Cottage #2 flanks both the road and the parking lot with the front and opposite side facing other cottages - it did not feel particularly private; we were happy to have our portable white noise machine to block out noise. The breakfast was inedible - eggs with chunks of a smokey meat in flour tortillas, a burnt rock-solid pastry (maybe a scone), and 2 Tbsp of a sugary, gelatinous yogurt with one blueberry and a sprinkling of granola. This property is listed as a four star accommodation - a three is probably more accurate. We’ll try somewhere new when next in Fredericksburg.

This is a cute a relaxing place. Room was clean and property well maintained. However they forgot the main reason people come here. That is for a place to sleep. Our refrigerator sounds like it’s making ice every 20 mins all night long. The old fashioned in wall AC is loud and outdated. One of the other keep us up all night. I really wanted to like this place.

We were so excited to eat here today, but unfortunately, the service didn't live up to the lovely atmosphere. After a 2-hour wait for our group of 12, we were met with a very cold reception from our server, Jody C. She was impatient with our questions, at one point telling us to just read the menu rather than offering any help or recommendations. Simple requests like refills or correcting missing sides felt like an inconvenience to her. It’s a shame, as we wanted to enjoy our time, but we won't be recommending this spot.
