Meso Asia Frisco Reviews
Nice and cozy place with a peaceful ambience in the busy area on Preston Street near the mall. Management and service is wonderful and they go the extra mile to make sure you feel at home. Regarding food.... "A picture is worth a thousand words".. Between the six of us we could not resist finishing off the flavorful vegetarian dishes .. A big bowl of corn soup, spicy noodles, juicy brinjal, flavorful burnt garlic fried rice, Pad Thai and yummy appetizers. Definitely a refreshing break from routine tastes elsewhere.. Looking forward to my next visit 😊
Nice fusion restaurant offering classic Indo Chinese flavors with a twist. We tried several of our go to choices like Dey Chili Chicken, Burnt Garlic mixed fried rice, Potstickers, Scallion pan cakes etc. everything was hot, fresh and fantastic. The dry chili chicken was one of the best that we had around town. It is definitely very spicy 🌶️ so order it only if you enjoy hot and spicy food like us. Interestingly they also have some Indian menu options also like Biryani etc. The server was trying to push that a lot where as we were interested in trying Asian menu. Servicing was good but could be improved. We got some of our entree before we got our appetizer. One of our entree was so late that we almost finished our dinner when it arrived. Overall I would like to give them benefit of doubt. We liked the food flavors and quality. We will definitely be coming back.
Relatively good Chinese food compared to other places I’ve tried in the area. We had the Mongolian beef and orange chicken. Both were excellent. The fried rice was alright but that seems to be the norm in Frisco. Was a little more pricey than I would have liked but we will probably be back next time we’re craving Chinese
Dumplings are great, also had honey walnut shrimp which were great as well! Decor was simple but elegant, calm, soothing vibe with music. Pricing for most of the menu I feel is overpriced as they are "fine cuisine". I'd go back on occasion. Pricing for the dumplings seems fair $9.50 for 6. Honey walnut shrimp with a small side of rice was $19. Service was attentive, not much talking.
I got the beef noodle soup and gelatinous rice ball dessert. Both soups came out really hot so I had to wait several minutes before eating. The noodles were a nice consistency and the beef and veggies tasted good. The rice ball dessert was great too. I got the braised pork belly, which was delicious I also got pork with bamboo, which was good too, but there were some pork pieces that were too chewy. We got chicken lo mein and I thought it was good. It had a hint of peanut flavor, which my partner didn't like. Update 3/30/23 I got scallion pancake, which was good. I got kung pao chicken, which was ok. The chicken tasted good, but the portion size was small. The spicy pork ribs tasted good, though they weren't spicy. The Dan Dan noodles were ok. The noodles and sauce was good, but it wasn't spicy at all. They also didn't add any bok choy and only gave me a little bit of ground pork, both of which I was expecting because their picture in the menu had it. Their music choice was weird. It certainly wasn't Asian.
Meso Asia was very good. Service was questionable as I don't think we had a dedicated server. The guy that sat us was the one we had to keep waving down to assist & take out order. We had dry chili chicken, shrimp lo mein, sweet & sour chicken, and a lamb fish. The food was very good... the Dry Chili Chicken- very spicy. . .Beware!!
We ordered 'Medium' spicy hakka noodles and burnt garlic fried rice. It was full on green chilies and extremely spicy. We could not finish the food and unfortunately had to throw it away. I have been a repeat customer and very disappointed because the past experience has been good. This review is not a compliant of the food but more of a constructive feedback for the management.
2024 Update: This place has been taken over by new management and its not the same at all. I think it is slowly becoming an Indian restaurant rather than the Chinese restaurant it used to be. Nothing against that but the flavors, dishes, and service are no longer the great authentic Chinese experience we spent a few Lunar New Years at. Very sad considering this used to be some of the best Chinese food in the Frisco area. Will not be coming back. We love this place and have come to eat during Spring Festival (Lunar New Year) for two years in a row. They have a great selection of authentic Chinese dishes. The service is great and the prices are very reasonable.
Not sure when/if the ownership changed, but the menu has changed slightly. This used to be my go-to Chinese restaurant in the Frisco area and I loved coming here for lunch. Went today after a long while and the food looked good but tasted mediocre at best. The hot and sour soup tasted like a burnt corn starch slurry, the beef roll was on the sweeter side, and the vegetables in the Sichuan twice cooked pork felt a little underdone.
