Villa Grande Gainesville Reviews
We had dinner with a group of 6 adults and 3 kids. Great food, drinks and service. Our waiter, Larry was superb. He paid great attention to detail, made the kids feel just as important as the adults and took great care of us!
Joie is a great server! Her excellent service and charming personality on her last day of work made our dining experience special!
Very good selection. Love the brisket options and the steak dishes. They have the traditional Tex-Mex also.
Delicious food with large portions. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely dine here again.
We love going to Villa Grande! The service is amazing and the food tastes great! The fajita nachos are so yummy and the portions are very generous!
We visited here on a Sunday afternoon for a birthday celebration and it was outstanding! We were seated immediately and the service was great. It's a very nice, relaxing atmosphere. The brisket tacos are awesome. Chips and salsa are addictive, so that's a thumbs up. Others had enchiladas and fajitas and they loved it. We will definitely be back!
The food here was excellent! Everything was cooked correctly and tasted delicious! Mike was our server, and he was just as amazing. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and super attentive. Thank you for an amazing lunch!
This place is beautiful on the inside! The outdoor patio is also beautiful. Our food was delicious! We had nachos, enchiladas, and quesadillas. We plan to visit here again real soon. Mike was our server and he was great! Very nice guy. He got our orders perfect and kept our glasses full! 5 stars to him as well.
OK, so the first thing I asked the bartender was, “which would you choose? the chicken fajitas or the mocha…” And the bartender immediately interrupted me and said “the Molcajete de Mexico City.” My goodness, what came out was a lava temperature stone bowl filled with cheesy soupy, chicken and grilled sautéed vegetable. Goodness that hit all the right notes when combined with their homemade tortillas which you know our homemade because of the shape, this is one of The best Mexican dishes, I’ve had in Texas. The picture say it all… Great Service, better food 9.3/10
Great service, great price, great food. We took a party of 12 who were my children and grandchildren visiting for Christmas. Service was still quick and attentive which I found to be amazing.
Waitress was super busy. Food was good. Lots of people got there food before us even though they came in behind us. Lunch time got busier the longer we were there. Had to wait for refills on drinks, salsa, chips. Did not bring our whole party's food out, 2 people, we had 5 people and they brought out 4 and left one had to go back for it. So we waited so everyone could eat together. Sounds like they need more waitstaff. But was good did forget a couple of things we ordered took a few mins. Lots of people had to wait at the door to get a seat. Maybe it was just an off day.
recently visited this Mexican restaurant with a group of 8 people, and I must say, the experience was delightful. The food was delicious, and we ordered a variety of dishes. The ensalada grande con pollo (chicken salad) was good, with perfectly cooked chicken and fresh vegetables. The enchiladas, both chicken and shrimp, were flavorful, but the shrimp enchiladas were the star of the show - simply delicious! The veggie fajitas were also a hit, and we had the option of choosing between flour or corn tortillas. The restaurant was accommodating to our dietary preferences and made sure everyone was satisfied. However, the show stopper of the night was the fried ice cream. It was the perfect end to a great meal and left us all satisfied and happy. Overall, I would highly recommend this Mexican restaurant. The food was great, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect for a group of friends or family. I will definitely be visiting again soon!
Food was average at best. Service is some of the worst ever. The good service we got was from the man who brought the chips and salsa. The ONLY thing good about the food was the portions.
UPDATE: I feel like this place has gone downhill over the years. Not the best experience tonight. Food is still pretty good, but the service is not great. We usually really like this place, but tonight's experience was not good. We were put on the wait list and then forgotten about. That was the first thing. Then, one of our meals was missing the mushrooms, which is fine...but they told us it was in there and that they were just chopped. There were clearly no mushrooms. Waitress was evasive after we made the comment about the mushrooms. We were not even mad about it, just don't tell us something that's not true. Very put off by this experience.
Appetizer that I had was fried jalapenos,3 stuffed with cheese,3 with chicken. The ones with the chicken were cold in the inside. I mean very cold. We had queso. It was ok.. My dinner was grande chile relleno with brisket, rice and refried beans. The pepper was tough, but the rest was ok. My friend had cheese enchiladas. He said it was ok. The overall meal was ok..will I come back no. The service was good.
On December 28,2025 at 7:24pm i called this location to see If they could replace my meal because i found a hair in my chicken enchiladas, if i took the food back with my receipt, (I only had 2 bites before i found the hair the food was all there & I wasnt even asking for a refund, just a replacement) when i called i spoke to the manager Roger/Rogelio &explained the situation he told me i could call back in a few minutes he just had to verify 1st. I called him back and when i spoke to him the second time he gave me a nasty attitude and seemed bothered and told me he could not replace my food at his location. And when i called back to get his name he told me what did i need his name for and hung up on me and when i called right back he made his server answer the phone and i could hear him tell her “dile que no estoy” in Spanish as if i couldn’t understand that he was telling her to tell me that he wasnt there and when i started telling her why were they makimg a big deal out of getting his name she cut me off asking me if there was anything else rudely so i asked again whats your managers name and she goes to ask the same guy (roger) what to say his name is. Just PETTY! & UNPROFESSIONAL !!! Never in my life had i experience such bad customer service at a actual restaurant. I had to call the Denton location just to get his name from the other manager Juan, who was very nice and will be replacing my food & acted like a real manager should. This location is rude and very unprofessional. DO BETTER REGELIO!! And keep in mind alot of people know Spanish!! Dont let the accent fool you!
