This review is for the employees that worked today. It must have been a hell of a day. A lot of the customers weren't understanding of the situations that were beyond the employees control.

People that work here are in excellent spiret not evan a fake happy , and love the music uplifting worship music we all need a lot of god in our life amen and thank you who ever owns this establishment, i will be back and food was hot and good lol

I came there 2 days straight and the same young lady is here working hard cooking packing and taking orders when orders mess up she fix them with no problem with no problem my first time coming my order got messed up on Saturday she wrote my name down came back Sunday w discount everything fresh and hot now that’s how u do business ! Chicken Express is usually not an option for a place to dine, but today I took a chance, and was pleasantly surprised. The order was correct, the drive-thru attendant displayed patience after many requests, the food was fresh, and hot, not to mention very tasteful. I will from now on put this chain on the list fast food places to grab a bite to eat.

I come hungry and leave satisfied every time. Haley and Alejandra are top notch and very professional. The dining room is always clean and the bathroom is spotless. They go above and beyond to ensure that the customer is satisfied, do yourself a favor and eat here you will not be disappointed.

The manager is well understanding came through there Saturday my ticket was like order 73 idk she took the ticket back and bought $30 worth food it tasted kinda burnt I called up there she offer to place it for me with bringing the food back and she would make sure it’s fresh SHE DID JUST THAT WITH NO PROBLEM! Got home it still tasted kinda burnt and it was dark called up there brought the food back again she offered for to write my name down with 10 percent discount to come back next week with full refund ! Every night I come the young lady is most likely there very respectful literally it’s always “how u doing “ , “have a nice rest of ur day” I have to wait on chicken on every night I come but it never disappoints ! Always fresh along w the sides! They need more workers because I done seen her packed take an order dropped my chicken cash me out walk to the front salute to her because that’s a strong job ! Keep up the work young lady last night was a line and u still got people in and out of there as soon as possible !

The young man working also gave me some extra chicken and a free pie due to my wait with was done without me even complaining or showing discontentment. I've visited several different chicken Express and had good service and tasty food. By far this location is special. They have specials available with great prices My favorite is the Garland platter well worth the price and believe me enough food for you looking for a big lunch. The day time staff is awesome working together as employees should. Thanks to the manager that store is a 5 star blessing. Love the fish. Hint hint.

Not too bad. Sometimes the wait is a bit long. There is a guy who has been there for quite awhile now. Very helpful and friendly. Fried okra is not so great.

The food was good. The workers were nice and polite. I will be returning soon. I wish they would start serving cornbread dressing. That would be great.

Did the Drive-Thru. Service was fast and friendly. We ordered three chicken breasts with sides of mash potatos and Mc& Cheese and rolls. Our order was minus one side- order so we had to go back thru the drive thru to pick it up. The food was hot,tasty and fresh tasting. Also very reasonably priced.

Service was great. It's best to call ahead for larger orders (8 pieces and up) or you may have to wait. The rolls are really good. Super friendly service, but way too slow and not prepared for the very beginning of their lunch rush. I changed my order from chicken to tenders because I didn't have the 20 minutes to wait and was told it would be only 10 minutes or less at that point. I missed meeting up with my husband because of the 25 minutes it took to get my food to me. Very friendly server. Big smoke. Food was great as always.

For some reason take out chicken has gotten pricey. It's kind of pricey here too, but it's not too bad. One of the few fried chicken places that still has corn fritters on the menu. Unfortunately their menu boards are sunfaded and hard to read. The facilities themselves are kind of rundown, though the staff try to keep everything clean. Owned by a company out of the northeastern part of the United States and seems to have very little interest in making the place look nice. That said, the staff try to do the best they can with what they have to work with.

They will give you some stale chicken if you don't ask for it to be fresh. It's pretty upsetting. I don't think I have ever gotten fresh chicken here if I didn't ask. If you ask for corn nuggets they make you wait while they cook them for you but don't cook you a fresh batch of chicken while you wait. They just take shortcuts and and are tbh lazy. I only go to this one because it's the only one close by.

First experience with CE. Great chicken pricey though. Great service. On an 8 piece with rolls 14.99? Then for another 3.00 you get a pint of Cole slaw that tastes like its been sitting in the fridge for 7-10 days. The chicken and service alone should be 5 stars. Add the price, 4 stars. Add the $3 Cole slaw, ..3 stars.

Food is good, tea is the best. I don’t appreciate a business that advertises its closing times and don’t stay open for those hours. 9:00pm we pull into drive thru, and they tell us they are closed. It wouldn’t be a big deal , but this is the 5th time in the past 5 months. We have been there at 8:00pm on 2 different occasions and they were closed. I’m done with them. I’ll spend my money down the road where they are open .

I come here for lunch since I work in the area. The food is always good. But today the service is really slow. Not just for me. But everyone. There's a constant droning noise coming from the back. It's loud enough that I had to repeat my order several times because the cleark couldn't hear me. There's a puddle in the lobby floor. Has a very dirty wet floor sign next to it. But nobody has bothered to mop it up. They could do better with very little effort.

Not a great experience: I waited for 10 minutes to get my food in the drive thru way too long. I also saw the food worker get more orders together which made no sense bc just get my order and send me on my way, by this time the line was at 5-6 cars. The chicken was okay didn’t taste the freshest and the corn had zero flavor. I know yellow flavor is naturally sweet but nothing :/ and no utensil for my mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were okay, had a taste with my finger, how classy I know. No excuses this place was not busy when I showed up. Go to another location. Never coming back to this one.

Disappointed. Ordered 945pm. Was told they only had spicy tenders, a few pieces chicken and no gravy. Ordered spicy tenders.. Ended up with half fresh spicy tenders, half old greasy regular tenders and hot fresh fries. Not the usual Chicken Express experience

Worst Service, worst Fish ever, all around horrible! They said it would be 10 minutes, it ended up being 30!! They seemed like a bunch of high schoolers let loose in a kitchen. Now lets talk about the food, the fries were cold as soon as they handed us the bag, so they gave us a few more but wait now lets talk about how they told us there's no biscuits 25 minutes into the wait so they gave us some cold rolls instead. Also, they shorted us chicken tenders, so all in all let me be honest, this is by FAR the worst dining experience my family and I have ever had. If you truely love your family,don't make the same mistake we did. Theres a funeral home next door, that should've been the only sign I needed.....

I will admit I had a large order, but didn't get all my items, the food was mediocre compared to other Chicken Express in the area. Construction on the service road caused it to be a pain to even enter. So of course I wasn't going to go back and get the food that was not included, though I of course did pay for it. Wouldn't recomend.

Ordered 12 piece mixed with 2 sides, 18 gizzards and 2 sodas. Asked for biscuits. Got rolls didn't get the gravy and only 1 soda. Had to pay separate for the second soda. Mac and cheese was not good. Chicken was okay. Gizzards were okay. Fries were the best. Service was okay. Sat in the drive thru and watched our order get cold.

Ordered on Door Dash! Only got 2 pieces of chicken! Ordered 3 pieces! Fries were cold! I ordered okra and it was not included! WOULD not order from them again!

super super greasy. it was kinda cold and the corn on the cob tasted as if it had heen cooking all day and was just a horrible greasy flavorless mess. the cole slaw was ok... the chicken was stacked with a couple fresh pcs on top but the rest were different... most of the pieces were waxy... like the grease had cooled enough to make the outside chewy instead of crispy. definitely old chicken. the fresh ones were delicious but there were only 4 hot pcs of chicken in our family pack.

Cold food and the gravy was watery. 2 years later and didn't realize this was the location door dash would be delivering from...still disappointing. Also why is this the only location that goes out of its way to purchase smaller cups for the gravy? Anyway it's clear they don't change anything based on the number of reviews and all of the problems continue so just avoid. The one over by sprouts in Rowlett is way better.

Came around 5ish yesterday only 1 worker who claimed she was the manager after I asked for the Manger she was still Professional but I voulf yell I was getting on her nerves a long wait I get to window its only her and she was working hard but slow it qas like something was wrong with her she looked horrible bags under her eyes and I could look at her she just look sick poor little girl they work these kids so hard with minimum she was still Professional she keep a smile and still told me have a nice day after the long line I wouldn't come here again the serve was good and she made sure my food was hot the environment nope! Everything was good till a HOMELESS MAN came in he started talking to himself he thought he was on an AMERICAN idol and started singing just got louder but the Staff didn't say anything because both were busy on their phones.

I was in the middle of bragging to my husband about how good the food was (even after the 20 minute wait) when we realized both of the rolls have what looks like the beginning of mold on them. The chicken, fries, and macaroni were all good but this was disappointing especially after already having eaten half of them.

Update: somthing has changed at this location. The food has not been good my last 2 visits ,tough gizzards, over cooked okra, cold potatoes and gravy like water . I used to enjoy coming on Sunday . First Review: Excellent Livers and Gizzards cooked fresh to order, fresh hot okra and mashed potatoes! Excellent friendly and knowledgeable service ! It was drive through only. I was getting take out, so no problem! At 8:30 on a Sunday night. The gentleman who helped me was so courteous I asked if he was the owner. All the staff was friendly ! I'll definitely return! Thank you !

Usually service is good but today I went and they gave me a tiny peice of fried as on of my prices of chicken and I only got 4 so I really only got 3. When someone pays such good money for chicken you shouldn't rip them off like this. I had a short lunch break so I couldn't bring it back for a refund. Disappointed. I will not be back. I paid way too much for this

Order was incomplete. Ordered a 30 piece tender and was shorted. Ordered an extra side of rolls. Only got 1 order of rolls and they were crushed and in a bag. No gravy for tenders. And to top it all off, chicken was flavorless. Never again. 😡

The service is not so good and if you don't have at list 1 hour lunch then it my be a problem due to the couple of time I've been in for lunch it take a excessive amount of time to get your food

Worst experience we went to this location because we where in the area but we usually go to the one in Balch Springs! The family order of fried pickles that we received was super greasy and the pickles looked old most likely where dropped 2 times in grease was waiting for atleast 10 min to receive food! Was hoping I was going to get good food! But will not be visiting this location again! 😭 cold fries I ordered extra rolls didn’t receive them!

Worst experience I’ve had at a drive-thru. I ordered my food as normal and went home. After arriving home I noticed I was missing an item from bag, so I went back up to the restaurant to get what was missing. Once I got there, the employee was hostile and rude, claiming I was lying about the missing item and refused to replace it. Worst chicken express customer service from this location, I do not recommend coming here. Ashely and her team are not doing right by the customers.

By far one of the worst Chicken Express experiences I've had.. Staff was nice and friendly but I did not come here for the people... We came during what you would think is peak lunch hours (1pm) and the food is beyond nasty.. Chicken was extremely cold and rubbery feeling like it had been sitting out all day. The mac & cheese, took 1 bite and that was enough for me. The okra was cold and hard. The only thing half was decent from our meal was the french fries because those were just made. I will not be returning to this location for anything!

If I could give zero stars, I would. Went there today, got home and everything was inedible. The mashed potatoes were literally the consistency of gravy/soup. Absolutely disgusting. How does that even happen unless it had been prepackaged many hours in advance otherwise they would know their potatoes were soup! Everything taste as if it had been sitting out for hours, cold and stale. Extremely disappointed. Even worse, there's no way to contact Chicken Express through their social media or find your store on their website. This is something that needs to be reported,maybe even to a health inspector because it can't be safe to serve food like that. I took a video of those potatoes because I just couldn't believe they had the audacity to sell them to a customer, but google doesn't allow videos on reviews any longer.

I ordered $50 worth of food from here through Uber Eats and they only packed 3 items, 2 of which I didn't order. This is gross incompetence. I will be contacting corporate about this. Unacceptable. I could understand if 1 or 2 small items were missing but not over 80% of my order. The only thing I recieved was the 7 tender combo with the wrong side.

I’m a truck driver and I have no place to eat and I decide to order with my rig without a trailer on the second line from the window. I asked the cashier if I can walk tours her and make a order and she said yes but then they told me to walk true the door and a guy who claim to be the supervisor kick me out because I can’t place a order inside. I understand the situation that we are going through the nation but I don’t understand why they don’t let me stand at the window and make a order. If I will ever have to make a delivery to that store I will refuse to do it just like they refuse to provide a good service.

If your employees cant get to stepping you need to replace them I ordered my food from door dash and my dasher is pissed off because he has to wait 15 mins for my food to be made he said the sign said it's closed and not only did it say it's closed but employees eating and not working chicken express you need to start being stricter to your employees about this.

The food wasn’t even good enough to eat. I didn’t want to make a big deal about it, so I just threw it away after sitting a few minutes and eating a few fries. The chicken had an old bad smell to it. It was the second time I had visited. The first was bad, too, but I eventually decided to give it another chance. How do they stay in business?

If I could rate a zero I would. First off the lady taking orders at the drive thru was rude and you could hardly understand her. Also, no masks, no gloves, no thank and lastly, the woman that was bringing the food to the drive thru was busy scratching her head. Will not come back.

Nastiest chicken I've ever had. It was burnt to the point I couldnt even chew it. It was all batter and the chicken that was inside was burnt and tough. this location just sucks. the employees (specifically the employee with red hair and neck tattoo) are always rude, the food is never fresh, they don’t accept Apple Pay, apparently now they’re out of tea at 5pm when they close at 10pm and to top it off they won’t accept two different card it has to be card and cash if you want to do split payments.

So this is the second time I have order a family size meal, the #20 to be exact, only to have half of the 2 dozen rolls I ordered to be overdone and dry. If it was just the rolls I'd understand, sadly it isn't. For the second time in a row, with over 6months sense the last time I visited, the chicken strips have been the most disgustingly tasteless, seasonless, salt free, plane Jane strips I've ever seen. The first time this happened we had purchased it via grub hub and we're so hungry we didn't realize till 1/4 were gone. However the moment I took a bite into this batch you could instantly tell there was zero flavor. I will be heading back to the store to try and get a refund. Having been to many chicken express sites throughout my life, I can 100% say this is the worst one to date. Then we have the cheese sticks that I ordered. They were hot yes but the cheese wasn't melted. I have tried calling twice only for the go to a voicemail that isn't set up. Seeing how the store was almost empty less than 5 minutes ago it's very unprofessional.

Waited 10 minutes at the window for food. No one in front or behind me. The staff was polite but every single food item we received was burnt well beyond being edible. I'm not sure if they were being overly cautious with food safety but I'm reasonably sure boneless chicken wings shouldn't be black. I would have definitely been fine if they told me "sorry we burnt your food and we're remaking it" rather than pushing it out. Don't get me wrong either. I'm not picky about fried chicken doneness at all and dont mind some crunch but these were so burnt and dry I needed 2 32oz drinks.

I went to this particular location around 12:30 during lunchtime, they never have any chicken ready, you have wait 20 to 30 minutes so they can get some ready. They don’t check your order before they give it to you to make sure everything is in there. They didn’t give me my corn-on-cob had to turn around and go back for that. Made it home was fixing my plate and they didn’t give me my rolls that comes with the Family Order. I will not be going back to that one on Eastgate and Northwest again.

I usually have a great experience when visiting this location, however my last visit I spent $30.00 to get home and find cold tenders, was supposed to get 2 large sides and ended up with waxy poppers, and 3 small containers of mashed potatoes saturated in gravy!!! I was so mad and tried to call the business without success as they didn't answer the phone! Honestly I am still upset about this experience even though its been almost 5 days ago!

came here july 23rd 2024 at 8:45 pm the only one lady working had a horrible attitude, wouldnt give me a receipt, and specifically put the wrong condiments in my box (no bag) after i had paid for multiple of them. not sure what her problem is but leaves a horrible reflection of a company i once worked for.

I have been going to chicken express before I sometime purchasing mostly evening meals. Every time I go through the drive-through and I get home I am missing some of the items that I ordered. I attempted to call the facility to let them know that my order was incorrect. I was unable to make the call to the company due to its see it a mailbox had not been created, and I was unable to get the phone to even ring at that facility. I drove back to chicken express after making it home And had to deal with a very rude manager on this shift. I asked her if she would be willing to compensate me due to the fact that it was their fault that my food was incorrect and there was a problem with their telephone system where the phone will not ring , she was very rude and said no we’re not gonna compensate you for anything. I will be very limited at spending my money where I’m not respected.

Extremely poor customer service, wrong and incomplete orders and when I asked to speak to a manager they played the switcheroo game. Finally spoke to someone that claimed to be the “real” manager and at this point I was over it! I asked for the number to corporate and she asked me why I was being disrespectful? Huh? What? WAIT! No ma’am give me the number — she then cuts me off and says she doesn’t have it and HUNG UP! I called 3 different #ChickenExpress until I got a number to the OWNER of that franchise and location. Called and left a message for him and he has yet to call back. No, I don’t want a refund. No, I’m not coming back. No, I don’t want a gift card. I‘M NOT EVER PATRONIZING you again. But, what you can do is acknowledge my call and text and apologize to me for wasting my time and money. You can also guarantee that your employees are trained and versed on customer service.

I made the mistake of coming here and I should have went to the grocery store and purchased some dog food to eat or McDonald's but not here. We were served teeth shattering hard chicken we're disgustingly hard. One of the thighs we ordered was actually raw and red inside while also being extremely overcooked I don't know how they managed to do that. The mashed potatoes were slathered in pepper and dry. I only go to the Chicken Express on Midway because of my experience this with the other locations. I made the mistake of something this location the other night and it was as disappointing as it was many years ago. The only location that is delicious every time is the location on Midway and Frankfort. Every other location is absolutely deplorable. We actually had to wait 30 minutes for the disgusting chicken to be cooked. It's supposedly wasn't the old leftover chicken but freshly cooked chicken and it was still absolutely disgusting and subpar. $37 because we also ordered delivering gizzards which were edible. $37 for garbage.

Extra Protein, Anyone?? I went to Chicken Express for some crispy goodness, but what I found in the restroom was a little too “wild” for my taste. I spotted a roach dead, legs up and all .. probably a few minutes earlier walking around like it owned the place! I didn’t know I was dining with a VIP (Very Insectoid Patron). I appreciate the commitment to farm-to-table, but I draw the line at insect-to-table. If I wanted a side of creepy crawlers, I would’ve ordered the “roach special.” One star for the chicken, zero stars for the uninvited guest! GET IT TOGETHER CHICKEN (ROACH) EXPRESS

I ordered door dash with them. But they substituted one of my items without asking for something I would never eat then didn’t give me the right size gravy on top of that the gravy I got wasn’t even filled. Then they didn’t put gravy on the mash potatoes even though I specifically asked for it. Never order here!

Placed my order online at 7:55 and was quoted a pick up time of 8:45-8:50. I showed up to pick up my order at 8:54 and the restaurant was already closed. I saw a guy inside so I knocked on the door and told the guy I had a pick up and he said they didn’t have my order. I asked for the manager but he said he had already left. The restaurant closes at 9pm but everything was already turned off. How is it that everything is cleaned and closed down before the store is actually closed?! I need my refund. I paid $67 for my order and waited over an hour. This is completely unacceptable.

The dude taking orders in the drive thru told me the speaker was broken... over the speaker. He then made be order at the window. After waiting for 2 cars to order at the window it was finally my turn. I then tried to order the fish combo to be informed they are sold out. I had to wait 10 minutes to be told this because why exactly? The speaker was clearly working as was the microphone since we had a full conversation. The old staff working here was great, this crew is NOT IT.

I am so highly pissed. I went today to get food for me and my co-workers. I get there and only the Drive-thru was open. But there was 2 guys (my understanding from them THEY ARE BROTHER'S) working and that's usually how many are there, and the doors are open. I go through the drive-thru and when I get to the window one of the guys was ringing up my order, but the other guy came and took over. So when I paid and got my receipt, I was looking to see if he gave me the discount. The sign was posted by the drive-thru, The sign said: Buy any combo and get the second one for 1/2 off. I had 3 combos. 2 fish combos and 1 chicken combo. I have gotten that deal before, No Problem. But when I asked the guy at the window who took my money, his answer was " You only get that deal if you ask for it". Like WHO does that. I then told him to let me get 6 extra rolls and a family jalapeño, he said that'll be $6.00. I said it should be Free since I didn't get the discount he said I can't do that, but he took my money and stuck it in his pocket not in the register. To top it off I had to wait 20 Minutes for my order. When I got back to work with the food it was cold and soggy. A waste of money. I'M SO DONE WITH THEM!

Horrible customer service. I ordered the Tuesday special they have a sign for 2 tenders a side and a drink for $5.99 the guy charged me $7.99 for each. Like why even have a sign by the entrance promoting something you’re not going to honor.

Had to wait 25 mins for my order. The vehicle behind me left cause of waiting so long. Girl looked like she was cooking and then having to get orders done cause guy was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Got home, rolls were smashed or my dog got a hold of them.. And i dont have a dog. Never again.

The worst spicy chicken tenders ever that chicken was super cold old and dry it was like eating chicken jerky and when I call and complain about it Mr Curtis the Manager wants to give me $5 off my next combo I live 25min away that not right I should get my whole order for free and fresh the regular tenders where not that good either the only thing that was fresh was the gizzards everything else was old cold and dry food

I visited this location today receipt says 4:46pm. I was redeeming a Groupon. The young lady at the Drive thru said I will need your phone to get the code and mark it redeemed. I told her NO I wasn't giving her my cellphone but I would read off the redemption code to her. She proceeded to ask my name. gave her my name. I asked her did she need the code she replied NO whatever she did provided her information. I mark redeem she says I need to see it. At this point I getting agitated. Some other young lady comes to the window she needs your phone. We need the code and to see if you pushed redeem. So she's on the phone with someone saying you heard what she said. I ordered 2 fillet fish okra and sweet tea. Now the fish is so hard, the okra is dark brown and hard, the hush puppies are burnt. My new was unsweetened but marked sweet on my receipt. When you have an issue with your customer giving them hard burnt food should not be how you resolve it. I have been at this location before never had this type of nasty, hard, burnt disgusting food previously. I am not sure if it was because of the time of day but this was unexceptable.
