The Fillin' Station Granbury Reviews
Cool little restaurant in an old filling station. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Burgers, catfish, and other country foods. Loved the fried pickles! Staff was young, but friendly and prompt.
Good was great as always, service was spot on! Our waitress Nicole, was very intuitive and helpful with the menu. My grandsons had the tailpipes and loved them! Food is always good and fresh! Will be coming back!
We had a chicken sandwich and a rye sandwich with homemade chips and also a side order of fries. The meal was hot and to perfection. Service was awesome! Thank you Kim. You made our day in Granbury.
We had the best experience at The Fillin' Station in Granbury, TX last weekend! The vibe is relaxed, the decor is fun, the food is fabulous, and the service is friendly! Sheri was amazing! It was our first visit, so she provided her insights into the menu options! The burgers were fresh and perfectly cooked! The fries are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and seasoned to perfection. The cobbler tastes like it was made in a grandmother's kitchen! 10 out of 10 recommend and will definitely be going back!
Food was great! Our server Nicole was very sweet and helpful making menu suggestion. We topped it off with a scrumptious peach cobbler/ice-cream I don’t work. Thank you Nicole for making us feel welcomed! Great job!!
This is my first time and I really enjoyed the burger and fries. I got the Cadillac with jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. I was pleasantly surprised by the Jalapeños they were actually hot and the fries were crispy. The service was great. They were quick to seat us to a table and stopped by for refills often. They have a diverse menu besides burgers offering a variety of salads and specialty items as well. I definitely will be back to try something else on the menu. If you are visiting you need to Mark this on your map and try it out. You won’t be disappointed!
I ordered the spark plugs. Needless to say they had no spark. The lack luster of flavor was disappointing. The house made ranch and salad saved the dish. I did try and chicken tenders. Those hit spot(dip in some ranch) The model A burger with pepper jack cheese and jalapeño bun. Was the star of the show. Our waitress was amazing. The host staff was so/so at best.
Interesting little American restaurant on the edge of the Grandbury square. Most of the seating is on an outdoor patio which unfortunately is at one of the main stops through the square. The traffic noise can be very loud. Service and food was good. Menu selection is adequate. Prices are fair. No complaints.
Pretty good burger restaurant. We visited on a Friday afternoon and were seated quickly. The wait was not long for our food. We ordered 2 burgers both were good! We also ordered the Steak Fingers and the Spark Plugs both were ok. The steak fingers were very thin and the spark plugs were super small and lacked flavor. The fries, onion strings and fried jalapeños were great! If we visit again we would just get burgers.
We love coming to Granbury and decided to try this place. We made it in right before the lunch rush and the place filled up fast. We were seated right away and got our drinks. Ordered chicken strips and fries as an appetizer, which took longer then normal to come out. Strips were good and the fries superbly cooked and delicious. Ordered 3 dishes and two of them came out wrong. Waitress blamed their new cook. The “marinated” chicken in my sandwich was dried out. The burgers were really good. I would definitely come back to have a burger and more of the golden fries.
We stopped in to get some lunch and had a good experience. The service was good, just a little slow. The food depended on what you got. My husband got a Torpedo (sausage) and it was delicious! The fries we got to share were also really good. I got the Wing Bites and was a little disappointed. They were ok but were really just chicken nuggets with Buffalo sauce on them. They tasted fine, just wasn't what I expected.
We came down for the Granbury Wine Walk. Decided we would start out with some food before starting all the samples. The Fillin Station is great location right on the square across from courthouse. The outside patio is very large with lots of ceiling fans and on this particular day was fantastic. One draw back is if you sit at tables near the main road you will have to deal with the occasional diesel truck coming by. The menu is a lot of fun to read with everything from lug nuts to little deuce coupe. Their sandwiches have multiple choice breads everything from sourdough to jalapeno or rye. My friend Bill got the "Torpedo" it was large jalapeno, cheddar sausage with saute onions & sauerkraut. I got the "Assembly line" ham, turkey & good crispy bacon on sour dough bread topped with lettuce & tomato, i paid the extra $1 for the onion strings well worth with else sandwiches come with chips. We topped it off with the fresh peach cobbler a la mode. It was perfect for my desert shelf. All and all this is great place to have a simple sandwich or salad. My wife did the grilled chicken salad it looked really good with sliced strawberries and blue cheese crumbles topped with a berry balsamic dressing.
It was interesting. We got into town late afternoon, around 1430. We decided to go eat based on a google review of the shop. There was only 5 people in the restaurant. It took almost ten minutes to be seated. The staff was extremely friendly from that point on. The Hamburger was a frozen patty but the fries were amazing! Over all it would not be my first choice for Id afternoon. My daughter says we went at the wrong time.
Never again! We drove 45 minutes to walk around the Granbury towns quare for Christmas lights and stopped here to eat dinner. It was the only place we could get in quickly. That should have been our 1st sign. It was so cold and the hostess didnt say a word to us just sat us down in the smallest table even though there were others open for 5 people. Then the waitress eventually showed up and was so rude old and gross. She looked at my sons ID for literally 5 minutes and questioned him on his age. We about walked out but we were starving and food seemed to be coming out quickly. She would slam everything down or throw it. She forget things we asked for. The food was basic food you can get anywhere else. And the worst part was it was almost 90 bucks for 1 drink, 1 beer, 1 appetizer and 2 meals!! So like I said never again. We'll make sure to plan ahead and make reservations if need be!
The food is not good. DO NOT get the chips and queso, the queso is watery and the chips are cheap store bought. I didnt know you could mess up coors light but they did. It was watery and warm. The chips that come on the meals are really good they are fresh made. We paid $58 for two people and could have gotten a better meal at fast food.
We’ve driven past this place so many times and never stopped, after going today I’m glad we always passed it. I will say my husband got a plain cheeseburger on a wheat bun and was happy with his food, I got the spicy Buffalo chicken sandwich on jalapeño bread and it was completely lackluster. You can see there was hardly any buffalo sauce on it and the bread literally tasted like a piece of plain toast. I didn’t even bother eating the other half. I also wasn’t a fan of the coil springs(tornados). They might as well have been chips they weren’t thick like a spiral potato/fry that you expect. The queso it came with was not edible. It tasted like it came out of a can and they put some shredded cheese on top. My son’s chicken tender kids meal with french fries & gravy was better than my whole meal. Add 1 water, 1 kids sweet tea & 1 Dr Pepper we spent $50 on lunch. If you want just a burger and fries this might be the place for you. If you want anything else I would probably skip going here.
This restaurant is conveniently located right on Granbury Square and serves classic American fares. We ordered El Camino and Volvo burger. Both were unfortunately bland and the meat seemed dry and wasn’t even seasoned. Both the hand cut and sweet potato fries were also under seasoned and dripping with oil. The ice cream shake however was alright. The staff was polite and were attentive. If I visit Granbury again, I’d rather dine elsewhere.
I'm disappointment at the amount of food for the price. I know prices have gone up, but quality also has suffered here. This is my second time and both were not that great. Other places on the square might be better. Meat and cheese was $12.00 Queso was watery and about 9.00 Wing "bites" were about $12.00 no dipping sauce.
