Great burgers and onion rings!
Great sandwiches. Bread cooked on grill. Old time diner atmosphere! I highly re o.mend it. O ly open 10 to 4 and doeznt look like much from outside, but you wont be sorry you stopped in.
I live in Wylie, Tx but was in Greenville for the day playing golf. We saw the 4.5 star rating and decided to try C B's. Smelled great when we walked in and then I had possibly the best hamburger I have had in decades! The only negative? They had a lot of Cowboys stuff on the wall but no Texas Rangers. If anyone has Rangers memorabilia to spare drop it off at C B's!!
The homemade onion rings are amazing. I also had the Texas Cheasesteak Sandwich. Absolutely a can't lose. And this place is one of the last local joints left
I have ate at C B's since I was in junior high. Real meat burgers served hot and fresh. Great place , lot of Greenville history displayed!
One of my favorite spots.
Reminds of of my childhood when places made food at a good size and still tastes good. I'll definitely be going back soon. They close everyday besides Sunday when there closed at 3pm.
Absolute best Burger and Onion rings around!! Staff is so nice and welcoming!! Our new favorite burger spot
Great burger! Fries were cooked perfectly! No better place in Greenville for a burger or homemade food. Homemade chili was awesome too!
Best burgers ever!! Old fashioned burgers and fries. This place has been around for ages, it might not look like much from the outside but the burgers are the absolute best!
Wow. Awesome Burger and Fries. When you get a hankering for a real burger made with fresh meat and not pre pattied fast food stuff, this is the place to go to in Greenville. I was very impressed.
Love their cheeseburgers! (Pickles on request) always fresh food. Very friendly. My favorite place to get food at in Greenville.
They are open 0900 weekdays and saturday. Someone keeps mistaking their opening hours on g maps. Very good hand made onion rings, fries, and burgers, with southern favorites to purchase like peanut patties and natural local honey.
CBs has been a greenville tradition for decades. There has been no loss in quality or service since the original owners Leon Bolton and Leon Jr. retired. I'd never had onion rings there before. They were the best I've ever eaten. Friendly fast fine food all its at CBs
Best hamburgers in the area. Great price. Very nice people.
Don't go to the drive when in a hurry during the peak hour. It is best to dine in and observe the great photos of Greenville locals in history on the walls. Definitely a place to stop when want a taste of Greenville.
Food is always fresh and tasty. The grilled chicken sandwiches are great. My partner loves the CB Patty Melt, and my son loves the Philly Sub. The burgers are real good too!
This place; CB'S Old Fashioned Hamburger's has been here in Greenville for the last 50 years. Fresh and juicy Old Fashioned Burgers are sold here along their large fresh sliced Homemade French Fries or Onion Rings. The combinations of fragrance fills the air of all the wonderful smells. The moment has finally arrived to enter the doors and taste all these flavors enjoying every bite.
CB hamburger is a Greenville staple. I have been eating there since 1964 and they are the same today. Nothing better than a good ol fashioned burger, fries or chips and a coke. Love this place.
if I'm ever in the area before 3 pm, I'm stopping here mah & pah shop type feel it's definitely pearl in Greenville, tx I've come to learn only the locals know about it. I love it here!
Here from El Paso for my son's football camp. I just had surgery on my nose a couple of days ago and something's are hard to taste. Well I can say that was the best thing I have had post surgery. I had a double cheeseburger with onions rings and my son had a dbl with ketchup. His was gone before we made it back to the room, he loved it. I'm sitting here now thinking I could have had another one of those. It brought back memories of my grandma making burgers for us. Hopefully the next time I come back through this area with my motorcycle club maybe we can make this a regular stop. Thank you for the good food and customer service.
There's a reason this place has been around for over half a century! Excellent burgers and the freshest of fries. Dine in and enjoy all the historical photos. This place is a treasure.
You know they got a good burger when you're sitting in the lobby full of people and all of a sudden you realize It's really quiet. Yep that's because everybody's too busy chomping down on those homemade fries and engulfing their burgers. I love this place.
We love C B's! The staff are wonderful! I haven't had a burger or sandwich I didn't like here. I highly recommend visiting!
Absolutely my favorite burgers of all time. Can't resist visiting every time I come to town. I don't know what the other review was thinking saying that chili's has better anything. That's just not true. Try it once and you'll be hooked.
Very good, old fashioned burger joint. The food is always cooked to order, hot and fresh. I stumbled onto the place and I am glad I found it. Really, really good. Check them out. TOP MARKS!
Great sandwiches! Would love to go back and try the burgers. Delightful customer service. Owner was on-site; personable and rightly proud of the sandwich/burger quality. Very quick detour off highway.
I used to eat there daily in between college classes in Commerce and my job at the dance studio. The best hamburgers I have ever eaten in my life. I am still thinking and talking about them 40 years later, thus I looked them up to see if they were still there! I might need to make a road trip from Austin!
Great little spot tucked off I-30 toward downtown Greenville. I decided to stop by on my way to Commerce and I was glad I did. Food is excellent and made to order of course. I definitely recommend it when you're in the area or will happen to be passing close to Greenville. Pop on over, get yourself an excellent meal! You'll be glad you did!
Great home town burger place. The burger pattys are thin but big and there other menu selections for sandwiches are awesome. It beats any buger chain place hans down and the cost is the same.
Oh my goodness, the food here is absolutely AWESOME!! Great service, great food, cozy atmosphere. Grew up on these burgers! Anyone that eats here fall in love!
Love the burger and fries! Best in town! Been eating here for decades and the food is still my favorite!
This little hamburger shop has been here for a long time. It has some of the best burgers and the staff is Friendly.
First time at CB’s.. Didn’t even know it was there and I have been in Greenville since 2012! My loss. Can not wait to go back! Great burgers and fries! If you haven’t been, go.
Awesome place, wonderful people, and great burgers and fries, plus any other food on the menu is great as well.
This was my first time eating in and the staff are super nice. Very sweet people. Polite, attentive I will definitely be coming back.
This diamond in the rough is definitely worth stopping at if you're hungry and if you're lucky and it's open. The burger has won awards and is great, but don't sleep on the rest of the menu. The BLT egg sandwich was soo tasty. Perfectly cooked bacon with a gooey centered fried egg, fresh tomato and crunchy lettuce. The tots and fries are standard but have always been fresh no matter what time I go there. Corn dogs are super tasty too and come with a big side of mustard.
The best burgers in town by far. Staff is relatively friendly, many historical pictures from the town dating back to the forties
First time here came from nearby rockwall to check it out honestly best burger I've had ever and I've had A LOT of burgers. I will be back next week for sure..... Updated review I'm here now again a month later I have been back here three times since my previous review and this place still is five stars delicious hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. His homemade peach cobbler is the best I've had the ice cream here is homemade it is delicious this place is the best burger I've had in Texas and that's saying a lot I've been to a lot of places in this state to have burgers and this is the best one I've had and there's a lot of delicious burgers trust me anyway anyone that wants to come by please do I love this place
Burgers are hand-patted and perfectly cooked! Onion rings were prepared fresh, not frozen. Service was friendly and very polite. This is a quintessential sandwich shop that did not disappoint!
Good food, interesting photographs of the local area on the walls.
If this place is one you've never tried, what are you waiting for? GO! Service was great, story telling and laughter throughout, as always. We went to CB's Sandwich Shop mid-afternoon thinking we might be the only patrons, but were pleasantly surprised to see business slower than Breakfast and Lunch, but still going strong. We ordered what's become our usual two cheeseburger combo meals, one with fries the other with onion rings that we share because neither of us can choose one over the other, with two drinks. Freshly made ol' school style and served hot. Delicious! ALWAYS a treat!
In business since 1941 and It just doesn't get any better than a classic burger and tots! Not a bunch or extras, just the old fashioned basics that hit the spot just right. Call in an order, cruise through the drive thru, or walk in, order at the counter, and sit down at the table to enjoy your cuisine. I recommend the doing latter while admiring the rich Hunt County history plastered all over the dining walls. Eat here and you won't be disappointed. It's okay, no need to thank me for the recommendation.
Best Old fashion burger anywhere we always stop when we get closer, we live 55 miles away. Great atmosphere and friendly people
I love it. Been going to CB's since the 1950's. Yes, it has relocated, changed owners, put in a drive-thru, updated, but it still tastes the same and makes me have a warm remembrance feeling. Food is great.
Great food great service Great prices especially the way food prices are skyrocketing now adays! Definitely has that Home cooking feel! Definitely recommended this place Breakfast, lunch, Dinner can't go wrong and they have homemade chili!
Today was my first time eating here with my wife. And the only thing we have to say is: THIS PLACE, FOOD AND OWNER & EMPLOYEES ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!! The best burgers EVER!!!! I recommend this place at 10,000%!!!!!!!!! Thank you Ray!!! We'll see you all soon!!🙏🙏💪💪💪💪💪
One of the best places to stop for a burger. I came here as a kid with my grandmother and mom. They have a new owner over the past 5 years and its still got that awesome feel to the food and service. Seating is a bit tight but its well worth stopping in. My grandparwnts still go here. So glad this place is still up and going.
I've always loved eating at CB's. The people are very nice and accommodating. Their burgers and fries are awesome. CB's is an icon in Greenville, TX and I'm thankful I can eat there often.
My first time trying their bacon cheeseburger a little expensive for just that but it was pretty good. I probably will be back to try something different. The service didn't take to long.
This place is very good and is on the top of the list as far burgers go. The atmosphere is great and there is a lot of history here. That said, it is not cheap. For two people getting burgers, drinks, and fries or onion-rings expect over 30$. Is it worth it...yes, at least once a year
I love trying small business restaurants. CB'S did not disappoint. Very friendly staff, place was clean. I tried their Texas Philly cheesestake with a side of homemade onion rings, so good it'll make you want to slap your grandma!
Perfect lunch spot! Even a junior burger filled me up. not only better, but cheaper than most fast food places for a combo! Their staff are very friendly and helpful too. Will be back 🙂
Excellent food!-They're ALL good people that work there as well. The service is fantastic, & your food is given to you good & hot! C.B's really has those old fashion burgers that are juicy, tasty, & delicious like my mama used to make! :-)
Don't know who is working there today, 9-17-22, but, super friendly & patient female who took my order(drive thru), and we ordered the Philly Cheese Steak(large) and the Ruben (large) and both sandwiches were big, full of meats and very tasty!! We could easily have shared 1 of the sandwiches!! Thank you for treating your "drive thru" customers the same as the ones who go inside. Very pleased!!
This is an excellent sandwich shop. I have tried many things in the menu and never had a complaint. In fact, I had never had a Rueben sandwich...... sauerkraut kinda grosses me out......but now I am hooked. It is a weekly thing now for me. Owner is a good dude and helps you make the perfect purchase.
If you have a hankering for THE best burger ever, got to C B's. Don't miss out on a true old school 'sammich' to hit the spot. On top of that, their menu is packed with a ton of other great choices! The ONLY thing I wish were different is their closing time!
I enjoyed the food 🍔 and especially the onion rings
I have only been to CB’s two times but let me tell you that they have one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten and the OR’s are fire! I always recommend them to everyone.
Awesome little hole in the wall. Old service station turned restaurant. Restrooms outside. Cool photos of Greenville through out the years. The Ruben is a great sandwich.
I have lived in this town for over 20 years and never went inside. Finally went in with my husband who's only been here 2 years and was pleasantly surprised. It's a very modest building but the food is great...... like really great. I ordered the chicken sandwich and was not prepared to have a piece of meat big enough for 2 sandwiches. The service was pleasing and the owner was very personable. Now it's our Saturday lunch shop.
Amazing food..!! They prefer cash so I recommend bringing some.. people taking my order were friendly and made you feel like you were eating at home.!
I love this place! It's my own opinion that hole in the wall establishments are the best, but these folks really knock it out of the park! Been in business for a long time, they have a very diverse menu, quality is very high, clean establishment, service and employees are very kind and timely. The parking lot is small, but that's because of the original location it is. They brought us our food, and it was fresh and correct... they have a drive through that was swamped, for the sheer volume they had at lunch I was impressed. Overall, drive through is good despite the made to order wait, dine in is good old fashioned diner atmosphere, food is great, and my experience was above satisfactory. Try em, they have something you want.
The Double Meat Cheese BURGER WITH BACON WAS SPECTACULAR! HOMEMADE BURGER AT ITS FINEST! SO PROUD TO HAVE FOUND THIS PLACE. I’m wrong for eating 2 Burgers in 1 week! It’s that AMAZING! Don’t Walk, Don’t Jog…You Should RUN TO CB’s Sandwich Shop!! 1 more Thing, and the most important thing. This Restaurant an A grade!!!!!! An "A" for a restaurant means it passed its health inspection with the HIGHEST Rating, indicating it is CLEAN! PTL🙏
Great food. Fast service. Reasonable prices. The lady taking orders was friendly. The man from the back made a point to come out and ask if everything was good. I'll go back. Soon.
If you prefer a nostalgic diner burger then this is your place! Many other delicious options to close from also
My family has been going to CB's since the early days! Great food and amazing laid back atmosphere! Iconic staple of Greenville!
A burger, anyone can make a burger right?!, wrong and you know that because there is a burger place in almost every corner, I can tell that I personally experience the reason why this place is been open since 1940, a small place with a big heart, almost as if my mom made that burger, warm buns, fresh vegetables and meat well done, simple and fabulous, I can tell that from the outside I was skeptical, but the burgers are a must, I had a junior burger with bacon, It was perfect. The place may look insignificant to many but please don't judge the book by its cover. You'll see what I'm taking about 🥰😇
Delicious burgers and chicken sandwich. If you’re headed thru Greenville Tx this is the local burger place. The onion rings looked so good.
This place is so underrated! It’s delicious and great people. It’s inside a 1940s service station with tons of old pictures of Greenville on the wall. Definitely worth a visit
If you're from the Dallas area and you love Keller's, then you need to try CB's in Greenville. The mayo tastes the same, they use shredded lettuce, they toast the buns, and their tots are delicious! Only difference is, no poppy seeds on the bun. This is a small hole-in-the-walk kind of place, so get there early for a seat.
CB's has best 👌 burgers 🍔, & best everything 😋 that they serve. I've been going to this family owned business, for 20 yrs! The workers are sooo kind, & genuine to their customers. "The CB's Patty Melt", is the REAL DEAL, & one of the best things I've ever eaten!!! 😍. So, trust & believe, I'll be going back to eat more food from CB's Sandwiche Shop!!
This place is great! I've been here twice and it hits the spot each time. My son is a hamburger connoisseur and he gave it a thumbs up and a head nod which is his seal of approval.
Best hole in the wall spot we’ve found in a long time. We got the onion rings, patty melt, double meat burger and fries. Some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. You can tell it’s all homemade and the customer service is amazing. Would definitely recommend to everyone to try it at least once.
I've gone here many times while visiting family, and it's always fantastic!!! Best hamburgers I've had maybe ever! I wish people were as critical of fast food as they are of mom and pop shops. The reviews speak for itself... Great place to eat!
Since 1941 this establishment has been serving the best burger in Greenville, Texas! Old school vibes and exactly what you want from a burger spot. The onion rings are freshly battered and you can tell right away. You order from the counter and the staff will bring your food to the table. Burger combo cost roughly $14 with bacon but it is worth it. Business has been going since 41’ but moved to this location in the 80’s, highly recommend you stop by if you’re in the mood for a burger!
Easily the best burgers in town. They are unfortunately only open for lunch so make sure you get there early. We usually order to go, but you can dine in as well! you’ll wait a little bit because everything is made fresh, but it is more then worth the wait. Pricing is surprisingly good too for the quality. If your about to go drop $10 on a Big Mac go here instead! You’ll be pleasantly surprised!
I've been eating at CB's for years and usually get a burger and fries. But, this time I tried their chicken strips. They are homemade and absolutely delicious! The only drawback is they don't serve gravy with them. They explained that they used to make gravy, but ended up throwing it out at the end of the day and felt it was a waste. But, don't let this deter you from trying them as they are great without gravy!
Great place, relatively cheap and quick. Burger was decent, fries were okay, they do not come salted and are pretty thin. Overall it's a nice place.
Had my favorite a Patty Melt with Onion Rings. It was great! The burgers are very good as well. The restaurant isn't fancy but it's clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.
The burgers are great. The onion rings and fries are okay. Bottlecap Alley has great onion rings but not so good burgers. Wish owner would find out how they make their Onion Rings. C B's onion rings are thin and the batter hurt the roof of my mouth.
Today may have been an off day for CB's. We arrived around 1:40pm. The regular lady that is usually there, was not there. We ordered our food, got our drinks and turned to find a clean place to sit. We found a table and noticed it was dirty. Husband said, let's sit at the counter, but it was dirty. Husband told the Hispanic girl to make it to go. She said ok. I then explained our reason for taking it to go was there wasn't a clean place to sit to eat. She said, "you should have told me. When it's busy, i can't get out to clean them." She came out and cleaned them. They were not busy as she had time to text on her phone. Music was Hispanic music which was odd being it's a hometown hamburger place and not a mexican restaurant. I do hope this was just an off day as we really have liked eating there and the previous atmosphere. Food was good.
Good stuff! This is just want you want from a small town little burger joint. It's just a little expensive like a lot of places have become in recent years. Burger was great, so was the Reuben. No skimping either. Highly recommend.
It's old style burgers ,taste great. Super friendly people . I walked in minutes before they closed, unaware of the time , I said I'm sorry I will come back tomorrow, they were not trying to hear that ,I was told to sit down and take your time , I told them I will get it to go , she pointed to the counter and said sit down and enjoy your meal . I tried that once at another chain burger place , I still have the scar from that mop handle . CBs go try it .
My sister thinks this is the absolute best burger in Greenville Texas. I'm more on the fence. It was ok. Not McDonald's but not Dad's grill. It was ok.
My burger wasn't good as what it usually is tasted like Miracle Whip instead of mayonnaise on my burger and got me a chicken fried sandwich and it's usually fantastic but it tasted like a frozen chicken Patty used to it look like a big chunk of chicken breast they cooked and oh it was good
The food is always good but I don’t care to be lied to. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and asked if it came in a combo and was told yes. When I got to the restaurant to pay and I asked why I was charged separately she said because there’s not a combo. I would have just not ordered and went somewhere closer to me than so far away.
Food use to be really good when CB owned it. The cheese burgers use to be the best around. Since it has new owners, it's not as good. They also have signs on the tables stating that if one or 2 people sit at a table that will normally seat 4 or more and a group of people come in that need that table for their group, you need to get up and let them have it. 😲😲😲
I dont get it. Not very good. Onions are fried in a tasteless batter. I don't know what a super combo is but I got a single patty on my burger. Again it was tasteless, minus the condiments I added. The fountain drink I got was carbonated water with a hint of Dr pepper. Apparently they were out of syrup. I'm a burger guy and honestly this was probably the worst meal I've had since my miltary days. I had high hopes of this place from the reviews but was pretty let down on this one. Gave two stars because the only thing I had were these, I cannot speak for any other menu items.
Not impressed. First off my friends meal was 21 dollars for the smallest cheeseburger a drink and onion rings. Then the onion rings were cold. The sandwichs were sopping wet. Gross. Never going back.
Ate there today and the burgers was terrible meat was paper thin and burnt dry. The fries were cooked to a crisp in week old oil. We won't make this mistake again.
We ordered 2 combos. Fries were not seasoned and cold. Burgers were not seasoned cold.
