We stopped here for lunch after shopping in Memorial City. As someone who grew up in Oakland eating authentic Chinese food, I appreciate this reataurant's authenticity. Sizzling rice soup is hard to find and they have a really good one. Everything tasted fresh and was piping hot. Cocktails were tasty too. Will definitely be back.

North China is a great spot! The food is delicious, the restaurant has a nice and inviting atmosphere, and the service is solid. It’s in a great location right off of I-10, which makes it super convenient. I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be coming back soon.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! If you’re craving authentic Chinese food, this is the place to be. The chicken fried rice is my absolute favorite, and I can’t resist the orange chicken either! Everything I’ve tried has been incredible. The staff is so friendly and welcoming—they remember our order every time we come in! Honestly, this is the best Chinese food I've ever had. Plus, the service is super quick, and the atmosphere is calm and cozy, never too crowded. This restaurant has definitely become one of my go-to spots!

We checked out North China after some friends raved about it, and wow, they weren’t kidding—it was fantastic! From the second we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcome. They were super friendly and attentive, making sure everything was just right without hovering. You could tell they genuinely cared, which made the whole experience even better. We tried the San Dong Tofu, the Pong Lai Beef, and the crab puffs. Let me tell you, the flavors were on point. The tofu had this perfect texture and was loaded with flavor, and the beef was crispy and tasty. Every bite was a winner—honestly, it was hard to pick a favorite between the two. The atmosphere was great too. It felt cozy and inviting, the kind of place where you can just relax and enjoy a good meal without any fuss. Whether you’re going out with family, catching up with friends, or even just craving a solid dinner, this place has you covered. Bottom line: North China is def worth the visit. Great food, awesome service, and a chill vibe. We’re already planning our next trip back to try more dishes. Highly recommend!

Have been driving by this place for many years. Stopped to eat here 2 weeks ago, now back again. Excellent food, fresh and flavorful! We had Beijing beef, sizzling rice with chicken, steamed fish and House lo mein with chicken and shrimp. Could not be happier. This will be our go to Chinese. Very reasonable prices too!!

This is now my FAVORITE Chinese restaurant in the Houston area! We had Egg Drop Soup with Crispy Noodles. The soup came out piping hot but was edible using the crisps. We had Colonel Tsao's Chicken (House Special), Beef with Chinese Broccoli, and Chicken with Cashews. Each dish was fantastic! The bathroom sink was very unique and the natural log bench out front was fun. This restaurant is off of I-10 (Energy Corridor) and I would definitely recommend!

Extraordinary, exemplary, exceeds expectation!!! 20/10 for sure. This establishment does not disappoint!!!! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a fine specimen of a man who was very polite and informative. The service was incredible. The food was delicious and portions were large. The prices were more than fair. Would recommend this place to anyone. Very Impressed!

We're snowbirds from Minneapolis that wanted to try a Chinese restaurant while staying in the Energy Corridor area. This place was excellent!!! I already kind of knew what I wanted to try but our waitperson also helped us by confirming my choices were sound. He was very attentive and the food was absolutely delicious!!! We ordered "House Fried Rice" and "Gan Sho Shrimp" and I can honestly say it was some of the best Chinese food I've had since I was worked in Taiwan several years ago. We also really liked how everything was served "home style" (separate plates for us to serve ourselves from the main dishes).

We have been regular customers here for a couple years. Their food is always amazing especially egg drop soup, sizzling rice soup and our favorite “Lajiao chicken”. The service is also excellent, very nice people here. The restaurant is very nice and clean. Highly recommended :)

Our family set has been going here for decades, even across location changes, and has maintained its reputation for great food! Service was fantastic, super friendly and they make you feel important. The food was also great. We ordered Cashew Chicken, Lo Mein and Fried rice. All were fantastic, chicken was tender, noodles perfect and the fried rice is some the best I've had. Only issue was the egg-roll which accompanied the meal, our dinner would have been better off without them. All-in-all, the dinner was very good and I will go back again.

We ordered way too much food, but we really liked the atmosphere, the service and interactions with the servers were all excellent. we are Korean so def wanted to try to 짜장면 and 짬뽕 which were a bit different but fresh. Didn’t realize we could have had our 짬뽕 spicier. Will do that next time. The noodle dish portions are huge. The other dishes we had were mapo tofu, spicy japchae with the buns, spicy gan sho shrimp, beef omrice, sweet and sour pork, and orange chicken. See pics.

After watching the glowing piece on "Eat Like A Local," let's just say I was underwhelmed. Although the restaurant decor was nice enough and staff members were attentive, I was disappointed in the food quality and flavor. First, I don't recall ever having a white egg drop soup (they have always been yellow) or one so scorching hot yet with such minimal flavor; the crab puffs were chewy and were served with an odd unidentified brown sauce that was neither tangy nor sweet; and my Hunan Chicken not only lacked the expected zing but the napa was literally too tough to chew. As a result, I don't really see myself coming back for a second visit because the food is the most important thing and they don't seem to be paying attention to that. Ditto for the bathrooms.

Stopped here on our way of town because I was craving Chinese and sadly was disappointed. The man who answered the phone was nice and the food amount was good but $25 for a shrimp beef fried rice and 2 eggrolls is excessive. Especially when the rice and eggrolls both lack flavor. I’m not a fan of soy sauce and don’t think that should be required to have good fried rice but hey that’s just me. I wouldn’t come back an it’s disappointing because the portion size almost made up for the lack of taste but when you’re paying almost $30 for 2 items, its hard to look the other way especially when the flavor isn’t there.
